before you and nanami started dating, you thought you had him all figured out.
quiet. composed. polite to a fault. the kind of man who holds the door open for strangers and tips too well. the kind of man who never interrupts, never forgets birthdays, never texts past ten unless it’s an emergency.
you thought you knew what kind of lover he’d be. careful. respectful. maybe even a little restrained.
you were so wrong.
because nanami kento is the definition of “gentleman in the streets and freak in the sheets.” not the loud kind. not the messy, aggressive kind. he doesn’t degrade. doesn’t spit unless you ask. doesn’t choke unless you beg. and even then, he makes you say please.
but he knows how to ruin you. with quiet control. with devastating precision.
he learns you like a language. reads you like scripture. he notices the smallest things. the shift in your breathing when his hand rests on your thigh, the way your hips tilt slightly when you want more. he catalogs it all. stores it away. and when you’re under him, you feel it. every inch of that studied, focused attention.
he fucks like he’s solving a problem he already knows the answer to. his fingers are experts. his mouth is lethal.
and the worst part? he says the filthiest things in the gentlest tone, like he’s giving a lecture. like it’s all just matter-of-fact.
“you’re soaking,” he’ll murmur, two fingers teasing your entrance. “i’ve barely touched you.”
“there it is,” he’ll say when he finds that spot inside you, the one that makes your back arch and your thighs tremble. “i thought so.” “you can take more, can’t you? i know you can.”
he never loses composure. he doesn’t need to. he’s in control, always. he’ll have you shaking, begging, gripping the sheets like you’re drowning, and he’ll still be fully clothed, sleeves rolled up, watch ticking on his wrist.
he praises you like it’s a prayer. “good girl. just like that.” “you’re being so patient for me.” “look at you. you’re so gorgeous when you fall apart.”
and when he finally fucks you, it’s deep and slow and ruthless in its restraint. like he’s savoring every drag, every clench, every sound you make. he doesn’t just chase his own pleasure. he chases yours. insists on it. he’ll edge you until you’re crying, then kiss the tears from your cheeks and ask, softly, “do you want to cum now?” as if he hasn’t earned the right to decide for you. as if it’s still your choice.
he’ll hold your face in one hand while he pushes into you, thumb resting at your jaw. not to grip. not to control. just to feel you. to anchor you.
you’ve never been so exposed. so undone. and he never rushes. never gets sloppy. even when he’s close, even when he’s quiet and tense and thrusting just a little harder, a little deeper. he still holds your gaze. still whispers, “breathe.” “you’re okay.” “i’ve got you.”
and when it’s over, when you’re limp and dazed and boneless beneath him, he pulls you into his chest and strokes your spine like you’re something delicate. something treasured. he doesn’t gloat. doesn’t tease. he just kisses your forehead and says, “you needed that.” like he planned it. like he’s known for days.
you thought you knew him. but the truth is, nanami’s the kind of man who thanks you after eating you out for half an hour, who ruins you with his hands and then helps you into the shower. he’ll say “may i?” like he’s asking permission to wreck your entire evening. and when you say yes, he will. completely. beautifully. quietly.a freak. but always polite. always in control. always him.

"𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭?"
Summary: In which he says No to you buying something, but it backfires badly (request!)
Including: Gojo, Geto, Nanami, Toji, Sukuna
Content: crack, hurt/comfort, gn!reader
w.c. 500ish each || Masterlist || MDNI.
Tumblr media
“Could we get that?”
He followed your gaze, eyes skimming the display before flicking back to you. And then he did something you should've expected.
He shrugged. “Nah.”
Your heart stuttered. “Oh,” you said, blinking once. “Okay. Sorry.” You dropped his hand before continuing to walk forward, not once looking back at display or him, for that matter, as both guilt and shame built up in your chest.
Tumblr media
❥ SATORU GOJO
The moment he realized you were actually upset over it, he felt his heart drop out of his ass. He stood there, dumbfounded as he stared at your retreating figure that slumped slightly forward. The sight reminded him of something that he swore would never let happen again- No, he won’t get left behind again.
He raced over to your side. “No, wait- baby, wait, heyheyheyyyy-” His voice pitched up, breathless and rushed. “It was a joke! A prank! I was kidding! Of course we can get it, are you kidding me? You want the whole shelf? I’ll buy the whole store if you want it!”
His heart went wild. His hands fumbled for yours again, touch feather-light like he was afraid you’d pull away for good. He cranked the dramatics to eleven. If he had to dig himself out of this hole with the fluffiest, most excessive display of affection in human history, then so be it.
He spun you towards him, before literally dropping to his knees. In the middle of the mall, in broad daylight, by the way.
“I have made a terrible mistake,” he cried, throwing his arms around your waist and pressing his face into your stomach and sobbing like a man who had just lost everything. “I’M SORRYYYY- PLEASE forgive me. I was blinded by hubris. My arrogance has cost me the love of my life.”
He cried dramatically, much to your horror. You smacked him, panic and embarrassment replacing the insecurity in your chest.
It didn’t stop him though, he continued whining and apologizing- Promising to buy you the entire mall and then some more, which terrified you, because he could. At some point, you just tried walking off in an attempt to get him off of you. It failed, and backfired. Because as you attempted to walk away, he was just dragged across the floor with his arms still wrapped tight around you. He never stopped apologizing, promising grander and grander things every other second.
In the end, you ended up consoling him. You had to reassure him that you were okay now, and that you’d continue to ask him for things again and again. All the while he laid his head on your lap after you two got a very expensive spa date.
“Promise?” He sniffed.
“Yes, Satoru. I promise to ask you for things even if I barely want or need them,” You recited, memorizing the words after repeating them a hundred times over already. “-And I won’t feel bad for spending money with your black card.” The thought of doing that sent a pang of guilt through you, but it didn’t compare to the exasperation you felt after saying it over and over again. Maybe getting spoiled once in a while all the time wasn’t so bad.
Tumblr media
❥ SUGURU GETO
He hadn’t expected it to hit you like that- he really hadn’t. It was a joke, a stupid little prank the girls had convinced him to do. They were giggling and nodding along and he couldn’t say no to his girls, now could he? Like a fool.
And his stomach twisted as he watched your expression drop. Suguru wanted to say something, his mouth opening but the words were caught in his throat as he watched you walk away.
“Daaad,” Nanako complained, tugging at his sleeve.
“You made them sad,” Mimiko whispered, her lip jutting out as she stared after you. “That wasn’t funny.”
Suguru blinked, looking down at both of them. Weren’t they the ones who suggested this? “And you didn’t even say it right,” Nanako added dramatically, arms crossed. “You were too serious.”
“Yeah,” Mimiko nodded. “Now you have to fix it.”
Both girls had already rushed ahead to walk beside you, gripping the edge of your coat and pouting up at you like you were the sun and they were clouds desperate to stay close. Little traitors. Now they were talking about how Mean Suguru was and how he’d make up for it.
What further broke his heart was how you reassured the girls, saying that it was fine and you shouldn’t ask for such expensive things so randomly like that. That made the girls pout, glaring back at him as if he put that idea in your head. Okay, maybe he deserved that though. Suguru hated that way of thinking of yours. Hated that for a split second, you thought you had to apologize for wanting something so small.
Luckily, the girls had shown their mercy towards him and started dragging you towards the display you were pointing at, saying that they wanted it too- And that you should match with them.
Suguru had made sure to pay for it immediately, taking your hand in his as he apologized. “You shouldn’t have had to apologize,” he said simply. “I’m sorry, it was a stupid prank.” He glanced towards the girls, who looked away to definitely look at other displays.
His eyes were on yours again, offering a soft but guilty smile. “You never have to earn anything from me. Not affection, not gifts, not a yes. You ask, and if it makes you smile, it’s already mine to give.”
By the end of the day, you were tired. You had walked around the mall for nearly 3 hours straight as the girls dragged you from one shop to the next, each time coming out with more bags than ever.
None of them were held by you, Suguru had made sure of that. He was carrying a comical amount of bags and whenever you’d try to say something about it- About anything about this being too much, something you didn’t deserve, he’d gently shut it down and he nudged you towards the girls who were already looking at some cute plushies you’d like.
Tumblr media
❥ KENTO NANAMI
Nanami realized the mistake the moment your fingers slipped from his.
He hadn’t expected you to let go so easily. Or for your voice to drop so small. He thought you’d laugh- roll your eyes and nudge him, maybe pout a little and say, “C’mon, don’t be stingy.” That’s what he’d expected. What he hadn’t expected was the way your expression shuttered, the way your shoulders stiffened like you were preparing for disappointment.
It had been a joke. A dry one, maybe poorly delivered, but harmless in intent. Just a shrug, a simple “nah” meant to be followed by a small chuckle.
God.
He hated himself a little, right then.
He caught up to you silently, his long strides swallowing the distance in seconds. He called your name softly, gently grabbing your wrist. When you turned to look at him, your face was schooled into something polite and a little too distant. The edges of your mouth tried to rise into a smile, but it didn’t quite reach your eyes.
“I was joking, darling,” he said softly, finally. “I didn’t mean it.”
Still, you didn’t fully relax. You just gave a small shrug, like it didn’t matter. “It’s fine, I didn’t need it anyway.”
He exhaled, frowning deeply now, before tugging you into the direction the two of you came from. Your eyes widened in panic, immediately repeating that it was fine, that he didn’t need to, that you seriously didn’t need it. It didn’t stop him though, he continued on with you in tow and bought it. When he handed it to you, his gaze softened.
“You never have to apologize for asking for something, especially not with me. I want to give you things. I want you to feel safe asking.”
Before you could open your mouth to go against him, he continued. “You deserve to be spoiled,” He let the item rest in your hands. “I’ll do better next time.”
“It’s yours,” he said, offering it to you without fanfare, but with the quiet weight of sincerity. “And I want you to enjoy it. No guilt. No apologies.”
You sighed, relaxing and holding what you wanted in your hands, wrapped in a paper bag.
Kento Nanami - 1, Your insecurity - 0.
Tumblr media
❥ TOJI FUSHIGURO
Toji had done it as a joke. Hell, he’d been messing around with you like this for as long as he could remember, teasing, pulling pranks that always ended with laughter and you rolling your eyes at him. But this? This wasn’t what he’d expected.
He fucked up. He rubbed a hand over his face, cursing under his breath.
It only took him a moment to catch up with you, his long stride easily closing the gap, but when he reached you, he hesitated. He could tell you weren’t looking for an apology, not really—that would probably only make things worse. You were too polite for that, too considerate to make a big deal out of something like this.
But Toji was never one to let something slide. Not when it involved you.
So now, you found yourself being held hostage cuddled with one arm as Toji scrolled through your favorite online shops. You were snug in the crook of his arm, your legs tossed over his lap, cheek pressed against his chest. His fingers curled possessively around your waist. You had stopped struggling half an hour ago, knowing he wouldn’t budge.
“Toji- ” you started, voice soft.
“Shhh.” He continued scrolling on the phone, angling it so it was in your view. “Pick.”
“Toji, I don’t want anything-” You tried again- yes, he had been doing this for almost an hour. Making you pick out at a minimum of 5 things from every online shop he knew you liked.
“You heard me,” he said, voice low and firm. “Or I’ll pick everything out for you.”
“No!” You shouted, groaning as you slumped further into him. “It wasn’t even a big deal, I shouldn’t have-”
“It was a big deal,” he said, interrupting, his hand rubbing up and down your back with slow pressure. “I was joking, you took it seriously. Yknow I’d do anything for you, right?”
You swallowed thickly, biting your lip.
“I was tryna be funny,” he went on, quieter now. “But I didn’t realize I fucked it up that bad.”
“You didn’t- ”
“I did.” His tone left no room for argument. “And you felt bad for feelin’ bad. That ain’t right either.”
You sighed. “I just overreacted.”
“I don’t care if you cried in the middle of the damn store, I still would’ve been wrong.” He nudged your cheek with his chin. “Now pick your shit or I’ll do it for you.”
“...Fine.”

❥ SUKUNA RYOUMEN
Sukuna watched you walk ahead, your hand slipping from his like it had never belonged there in the first place. His hand twitched, flexing as if readying to cut someone up on instinct. He felt angry, but not exactly at you. Maybe at your brain, how you thought.
What the hell was that?- The hell do you mean, sorry?
Sukuna’s jaw ticked, crimson eyes narrowing as he tried to process what just happened. He could still see the display in the corner of his vision—the thing you wanted, whatever the hell it was. He hadn’t even looked properly. Just heard the tone in your voice, that soft, hopeful question, and thought, yeah, this’ll be funny.
The rest of the day passed in a blur. He didn’t speak much. Not because he was mad—but because he didn’t know what the fuck to say. He kept stealing glances at you. Watching you act like nothing happened. Quiet. Polite. Distant. Like you were doing your best not to take up space.
Sukuna hated it.
The next morning, you woke up to something absurd.
It started with a faint rustle beside the bed. You blinked your eyes open, brow furrowing, the sunlight just beginning to spill through the window. You groaned and turned over, feeling for your husband- Who was uncharacteristically not sleeping and warm beside you.
Instead, your eyes widened when you saw what was on the bedside. Not just the thing you wanted from the store yesterday.
But that plus a mountain of other gifts. Carefully stacked, painstakingly arranged—clothes, snacks, trinkets, plushies, books you’d mentioned offhandedly. Stuff that couldn’t have been pulled together overnight unless someone went on a tear through every store within ten miles and burned through money like it was paper.
Sitting beside it all, arms crossed, lip curled in a dramatic scowl… was Sukuna. He was tapping his foot impatiently.
You sat up, letting the blanket fall from your shoulders, mouth agape. “Sukuna…”
“It’s not a big deal,” he growled, red eyes darting away like they were allergic to your expression. “You wanted that dumb thing. So I got it. And the rest was- was just there. It was all on sale, probably. I didn’t check.”
Your gaze swept over the pile again. Some of it was very obviously not on sale. Limited edition. Imported. Things you’d only mentioned once while scrolling late at night. You looked back at him—and found him staring at the floor now, like he couldn’t bear to meet your eyes.
“Sukuna,” you said again, softer this time.
He let out a slow breath, tension sagging from his shoulders. “I didn’t mean it.” He grumbled. “Sorry.”
You swallowed. “Sukuna, it’s fine, this-” you motioned towards the pile of gifts. “This is too much for me! I didn’t mean to upset you, I overreacted anyway-”
He clicked his tongue. “You didn’t.” He exhaled sharply, dragging a hand through his hair. “I did. But it’s not like you were bein’ dramatic or anything. You just… looked like I kicked your damn puppy.”
“I wasn’t mad.”
“That’s worse!” he snapped, gesturing at you like you’d committed some unspeakable offense. “You weren’t mad. You were just-” hurt. He didn’t like it. “...Not happy.”
Your gaze softened. “You could’ve just said something there.”
He grunted. “Whatever.” He nudged one of the boxes towards you with his foot, it was wrapped in a pretty pink bow. “Open them.”

jealous smug ex bf ghost 🫡
this is not edited and i wrote this at 4am 😭
thinking about the silent smouldering confidence radiating off of ghost when he knows he’s better in every way compared to your new boyfriend.
he doesn’t understand you the same way. sure, maybe your relationship with him wasn’t the most perfect, but it’s gotta be better than this arsewipe you picked up from the streets. he just doesn’t get you; your little tics, what makes you smile, laugh, cry, snort — cum.
you see it in every subtle jerk of Ghost’s body, every glance he passes you. pure smugness when your new boy toy drops the weighted gun several times, snaps at you when you try to help him; you can’t even point it out or go berserk if Ghost breathes in your direction, because nobody else sees it - just you. he reckons that’s why you’re perfect for him. nah, he knows it.
you suppose it’s a curse of some sort - it’s not like your boyfriend is a complete dickhead, but he messes up once and you find yourself wondering if Ghost would have done the same. if he’d allow it all.
“You’re pointin’ south.”
Ghost rolls his shoulders back, head cocked to the side as he watches your boyfriend turn in LT’s direction, lips pressed in a thin line. You keep reminding him it’s the other fucking way, that he had to practice the day before, because he knew how important this was to you—
“Yeah, got it L.T.” He says through clenched teeth. Ghost says nothing, but the mask shifts a little and you want nothing more than to wipe the smirk off of his face.
It doesn’t help when he releases the trigger and misses.
“Just keep trying.” You urge your boyfriend through clenched teeth, offering a smile. Ghost watches it all, how quickly your mood plummeted, how you’re sparing him worried glances. he’s not gonna pity your sod of a boyfriend, but since you’re so worried, he’d consider it. well, he tries to, when that boyfriend of yours moves harshly out of your way and readjusts his pose. It’s humiliating and it doesn’t go by unnoticed.
“There you go,” Your boyfriend simmers to himself when the bullet pierces straight into the makeshift dummy opposite him.
“Good job.” You sigh out, weights rolling off of your shoulders.
“Didn’t need a compass either.” Ghost remarks, void of any emotion as he turns to saunter off.
Despite your mental efforts, you can’t deny the sex is… awful.
You feel terrible as you roll onto your side, a layer of sweat on your skin, looking all tossed up. You should feel… good, right? Yet it doesn’t. It wasn’t the same; no familiar ache between your legs, the immediate sleep after, the same large hands that knew every inch of your body.
“Fuck sake,” You shove your face into the small cushion next to you, voice muffled. Here you were, laying beside your boyfriend, thinking about how much you’d rather be sleeping on the cheap issue of Ghost’s mattress.
You were royally fucked up.
Everyone notices your bad mood the day after; you’re slamming doors, sighing irritably, cricking your neck to the side, knees jittery. Ghost drinks it in, God he fucking revels it. Poor girl.
“Needed this, didn’t ya?” He’s rasping in your ear later that night, your head buried into the pillow deep somewhere in the barracks, ass up in the air for him. Ghost hisses, hips snapping against you. He can tell you needed this — course that pretty boy’s not been takin’ care of you, he doesn’t know you. Doesn’t care to.
“Fussy thing,” Ghost grunts, large hand moving to fist your hair, earning a whimper in response. You’re clawing at the sheets beneath you, breathless, unable to conjure up some lame jab because he’s so deep in you you swear you’re seeing stars.
“Greedy too. Yeah, you fuckin’ like that,” Thrust after thrust, you clench around him, taking him so well, because after all; you’re his. His girl. You moan into the pillow, earning a chuckle from the man as he stills, gloved hands on your hips. God, you know he’s making you late to training but you can’t seem to care.
“Doesn’t fuck you right, does he, love?”
“Si —” You’re panting, lolling against the pillow, jaw slack when large hands spread your legs wider, tattooed skin against soft flesh.
“You got a fussy little pussy,” He groans, base of his cock stilling again, right at that spot you love. “Need’a be fucked proper.”

nanami and his video game gf 𓂃۶ৎ⠀(unedited:,( also idek where this idea came from just kept writing my bad)
“Once again, I don’t entertain myself with that sort of… calibre of content anyway. It is for children.” Kento is saying to Yuji as they stroll through the garden, the pink haired boy nodding in blind agreement, arms behind his head as he grins. The lake is wide and stretches out beyond the training camp with the other sorcerers, night sky simply a canopy for the two discussing their day. Kento seemed to grow closer to Yuji as the year went on by, a sort of mentor-student-father-son dynamic going on. At least, that’s what Gojo described it as.
“Yeah, I totally get that Nanamin, but you gotta try it before you bash it!” Yuji is punching the air in boyish excitement. Nanami holds the urge to sigh deeply and roll his shoulders but he simply nods a bit stiffly. He didn’t understand the new lingo thrown about when Gojo and the others would appear by his side, peering over his book in quiet interest hidden by a raised brow.
“It’s not only the best game of the season this year, but it’s won tons of awards and—“
“Video games can be addictive if played too much,” Kento chimes in smoothly, stepping suavely over the large rock in the paved pathway. The cicadas buzz quietly, and he noted how nice it looked that evening, small ripples of the lake water gently crashing against the pebbled rocks by the foot of the bridge nearby. Yuji shrugs unbashedly.
“I dunno, Nanamin, your girlfriend seems to like the game a lot.”
Oh.
Right. His girlfriend.
Kento loses the slight chip in his walk, blinking behind his goggles as he processes Yuji’s words, attempting to keep his walk smooth. Yuji is grinning. Kento notes to keep change the break time schedule, since that smile is eerily similar to Gojo’s.
“I.. know.” Nanami replied a little quieter, the small hint of pink on his ears not going unnoticed. Yuji grins a little wider and hums, feigning pure innocence.
“Yeah, man. She scores high every time on the leaderboard too. Beat mine and Toge’s. And Toge plays a looooot more than us all combined.” He sings, catching small glances to the tall blond whose mouth twitches a little.
“Does she now?”
“Yeah, she told me it’s her favourite game.”
“Right.” Nanami says shortly. A lot of questions weighed on his mind.
Maybe the game wasn’t too bad. You seemed to be okay with work and video games.
“You should come watch us all play sometime. Y’know when you’re not doin’ boring work stuff.” Yuji offers. Nanami is trying his hardest not to soften visibly at the memory flashing in his mind, his lovely girlfriend’s head against his chest as you both laid out on the couch, lamp dimly lit, illuminating the room, and you’re smiling up at him.
Playing video games.
“Well, she should cut down her hours. It could interfere with your missions.” Nanami opts for a response. Yuji shakes his head with a smile.
“Yeah, yeah. Will do, Nanamin.”
And it keeps happening.
Nanami will sit down on the leather chair by all the other Sorcerers, unamused by whatever Todo and Gojo are laughing at on their phones, opening his book, tucking the bookmark in his pocket. Yuji bursts in with Toge and they connect their switch or, whatever it’s called, to the TV. He’s about to get up and leave when the hype music plays loudly from the screen, but Yuji opens his mouth.
“Ohh, look! Nanamin’s girlfriend is online right now! I’m gonna invite her!”
“No.” Kento said a bit too quickly. Damn it, why are you playing video games when you told him you had an entrance exam to study for? His slightly narrowed eyes flit to the game on screen but Yuji is grinning and spamming the invite button. Gojo gasps.
“Oh, girlfriend you say? Oh, this is perfect! Add me! I have my switch too. Do look after my phone, Todo.”
“For christ sake.” Kento mumbles, reaching for his phone to text you. The white haired man, theatrical as ever, sighs blissfully as he connects his switch and leans back, smiling behind the blindfold, legs outstretched.
“Oh yeah. Watch and learn, Itadori. TheStrongest3ver is here. You do have me added don’t you?” Gojo asks smoothly. Toge nods.
“Yeah I do. Hey, Nanamin, can you tell her to join? She carries us every game.”
“No.”
“But why? Please? There’s a season finale badge I wanna win and she—“
“She has to revise for an exam. Why do you have my girlfriend added on your game anyway?” The blond man bristles. Gojo grins.
“Oh this is too good. Itadori, send me her tag!”
And just like that you’re on the game. You’re playing, and as a character that looks like a business man in a suit with a briefcase as a weapon. Your digital character is jumping up and down. Kento, for the first time, watches from the corner of his eye.
“Oh, she has aim bot. A hundred percent.” Gojo says under his breath. The game has gotten a bit more intense now, and even though Nanami has no clue what’s going on, by the looks of it you are playing pretty well. Gojo has leaned forward now, arms on his knees as he concentrates.
“Yes! Yes, get his ass! Nanamin, your girlfriend is a sweat!” Yuji exclaims.
Whatever.. that meant.
Honestly, he didn’t know how to feel. He tried to keep his love life private. Tried very hard. It just happened to be the one time he forgot he had Gojo on his messaging app, he changed his DP to a photo of you both…
And within the next week they had managed to find your profile on social media as well as the cafe you worked at.
“Yeah, how does failure taste?” Yuji cackles when Gojo is muttering under his breath, fingers moving quickly against the controls, slender hands gripping the controller a bit too harshly. Nanami can’t help but revel a bit in this.
Yuji groans and leans back. “Yeah, I’m done. She’s still going. What the hell?”
“Cheat. She’s cheating. Check the wifi, Yuji.” Gojo mutters, probably furrowing his brows behind the blindfold. Nanami is watching the screen as your supposed username glows on the screen with a trophy beside it. Gojo inhales sharply and covers it up with a huff of a laugh, putting the controller aside. A bit too harshly.
“So weird isn’t it? The controllers are so dodgy today. We should get them fixed — Todo, don’t click on that app—“
Yuji and Toge debate on how you managed to win single-handedly with a shit weapon. Nanami flickers his gaze to the username and to their faces. Huh.
He then smiles a bit when you then reply to his messages, phone vibrating on cue.

°☆.。. | unedited sorry yall D:|
nanami with reader whose had to be her own supporter, parent, sibling and best friend all in one.
you don’t even question it, it’s a second nature at this point; driving your little brothers to their practices when your parent couldn’t, carrying the quiet burden of trying to help your mom, sitting through an argument with your sister who you know should be handling it herself but you can’t help it; there’s a part of you that needs to be there for them.
nanami doesn’t think you even understand the word boundaries when it comes to yourself- always giving, even in friendships where you know they clearly don’t value your time the same way as you. it always ticked the man off, being someone of orderly fashion and who analysed people the same way he would the broad spreadsheets on his screen everyday, it was a blessing and a curse to be able to read people so clearly. he just didn’t understand why you couldn’t do the same - if the edges blurred when you saw it from a different perspective, or if you were choosing to be ignorant.
it’s not until you move in with nanami you realise.
“Yeah, I can try and squeeze in time to pick him up, but are you sure you can’t— No, no I get you’re busy but I’ve also got to pick up my package halfway across town-” you’re speaking into the phone with your mother, phone wedged between your cheek and shoulder, blowing a strand of your hair out your face as you scrub the dish in front of you, frowning as she explains how she can’t pick up your brother again for the third time this week. You’re slightly irritated, the clothes on your body feeling too tight, soap suds on your forearms, and the deadline for your work is creeping slowly and you hadn’t even started it yet—
“Sweetheart, I’m home.” A quick, swift shut of the door brings your attention to the tall blond by the doorframe and you’re about to apologise for leaving the room a little messy, but your gaze falls on the pink package tucked in his arms.
Your package.
He doesn’t say anything, effortlessly hanging his grey coat up and sliding his shoes off, cool honey eyes studying you. You’re still blinking in surprise when he’s managed to get you sat on the couch, knees scooted up as your mother’s voice droned on through the line.
You didn’t even tell him you had a package, you think, staring at the broad expanse of Kento’s back, the muscles shifting under the blue material of his work shirt as he washed the dishes.
And it didn’t even stop at that. You’ll catch yourself attempting to complain but there it is - the keys you needed on the desk he settles down with a curt nod, a sweet kiss to your cheek before he leaves for work. The laundry pile growing in the corner of the room? Done and folded by the next day. Your friend group were acting strange? It’s fine, he’ll draft up a message for you to send. One night you’re sighing over the deadline and there’s a mug of tea in your hand, large hands massaging your shoulders. You ease into it so comfortably. It’s like you’ve forgotten how it feels to be taken care of.
“Shoot— Sorry, Ken, I was gonna make dinner for us— Oh.” Your shoulders slump, the weariness and fatigue from work leaving a little when he enters the door again with a bouquet of roses in his hand, and a takeaway bag in the other.
How? How the hell does he just know?
“It’s alright, honey. Here you go, I bought these from the new florist in town. Thought you’d like them.” The sweet, deep tone of his voice fills the room, and you feel it sink and sweep into your veins, a weight lifted off. A light pink dusts your cheeks when you take the bouquet in your hands, and when you’re looking up at him, studying the subtle quirk of his lips, it’s like you’re seeing him for the first time.
For the first time in months you feel shy around your boyfriend.
“How the hell do you even have time for a relationship nowadays? I swear I come off my shift and I get annoyed if my man breathes near me,” Your friend is scoffing with an eye roll and she sips from the matcha on the table. You usually agree, reply with a quick quip of ‘Yeah, men suck’, but you’re just smiling a little to yourself, shrugging, a newfound glow to your face that she catches. It only amplifies when you stare at the text message he sends you.
Kento 🩷 : Hope you’re having fun, sweetheart. Just letting you know I’m picking up Ethan for his game, don’t stress about it. I love you.
“Oh, you’re so whipped,” she laughs at you, leaning back in the sun chair and you don’t even care, a grin growing over your face as you hunch over the screen, typing away with the manicured nails he paid for.
With his efforts and the small kisses he drops everyday, you manage to multitask working and your deadline in time. You find it in yourself to cook him a dinner, wear something pretty and wait patiently till he comes home but the next thing you know you’re having a screaming match with your mom on the other end of your iPhone.
Nanami’s day at work goes by smoothly. Being a salesman had honestly become the worst part of his day but it was manageable. It got a bit easier as he sipped his cup of coffee at his desk, every now and then glancing to the lock screen of you both. It gets easier when he hears your voice through the panicked, rush voice note you send throughout the day. He imagines your smile and eyes during certain parts and works just a little harder.
It gets a lot easier when he steps out his car and unlocks the apartment door. Except you’re not standing by the fridge, or laid out on the couch. There’s two plates of smoked salmon and hors d’œuvres surrounding the ceramic plates, a bottle of wine unopened.
It didn’t feel easy though when he pushes the bedroom door open, a frown bracing his features as you, his dear sweet girlfriend, perched on the end of the bed, hastily wiping your tears. His heart lurches, eyes dropping from the iPhone to the little milkmaid dress on your hunched over form.
“Oh, Ken — ‘m so sorry, I just—“
“Enough.”
Your wide eyes peer up at the blond man who shifts down beside you, kneeling, dark brows lowered over sharp honey, holding a deep affection. You sniffle, cheek hot under his cool fingertips that wipe away the tears. You can’t help but wonder why he was so insistent on being with you, someone so easily distracted by everyone else around her, someone who couldn’t even do something nice back—
“I’m sick of seeing you being pushed around. Do you understand what I mean, my love?”
You shake your head but he raises a brow and you shuffle before nodding. The subtle hints of his cologne intrude your space and you melt when he sighs, his large hand framing your face.
“What happened? Did you argue again?”
“Yeah— I just, I’m so sick of it, Ken. It’s like I’ve got to do everything, and I know I can do it but they— they don’t care. They don’t care.”
“I care. I see what you do. For everyone.”
You don’t realise you’re still crying until he presses a kiss to one of your tears.
“And that is more than enough. You can’t push yourself too much. You have a limit. And honestly, Im getting a little tired myself watching you do everything.”
“You don’t have to.. You’re just saying that because you have to.” You mumble, lashes dark and slick with tears. Nanami hums.
“Have to what? Support you? Love you? Please, sweetheart. It’s my job.”
“Ken—“
“Take a few days off work. We’ll just relax together, yes? What do you call it — bedrotting? You need to put this all behind.” The warmth of his voice bleeds into your veins again and you nod slowly, subconsciously leaning into his touch when he strokes his thumb against your cheek.
“I love you. Im sorry I’m a mess.”
Nanami chuckles, and there’s no malice behind it, light and warm, encasing you in its briefness.
“I just want you to understand I’m here. Okay?”
Teary eyes meet oak brown, resilient and deep. And you got it. It hits you. You understand you didn’t have to do it all on your own.

nanami and his video game gf 𓂃۶ৎ⠀(unedited:,( also idek where this idea came from just kept writing my bad)
