Damen: Laurent is a fucking monster, am I right?
Laurent's people: Absolutely not. He's never been this horrible to anyone. What the hell did you do to him?
Damen: Well, he definitely doesn't know who I am or that I killed his brother so...it can't be that.
#captive prince#captive prince spoilers#Damon is so fucking thick sometimes it's painful#also Laurent's abuse was like right in his face the whole time

The vibe has shifted. Lines hit a little harder. Ot3 is a little more obvious. Season 3 has been great so far! Seasons 1 and 2 were pretty good, but they were missing something, and that something was John Rogers.
#john rogers leverage#leverage redemption#also hardison#but he haunts them off screen enough that i'll allow it

With all this talk of outie Mark not seeing innie Mark as a person, I think it's worth remembering that this isn't just a problem with Outie Mark. Innie Mark betrayed his new team of innies in the first episode of this season. He refused to work with them, and they were effectively killed (as mentioned by Dylan and proven by the old man Mark yelling on Lumon's steps). It's not that Mark S cares about all innies and their sanctity of life as people. He mostly cares about him and his friends. Just look at his behavior at Irv's funeral, where he literally says, 'he isn't dead, he's just not here', implying that Irving's innie and outie are the same person. (Although that line is post the start of his reintegration) Mark S's own consideration of innies as people is inconsistant at best and Outie and innie Mark both exhibit this same selfish blindness just at different points in the story.

I offer an alternate take to the airplane scene with Cheng Xaoishi's head on Lu Guang's shoulder. I've seen posts saying LG was going to run his hand through his hair or ruffle it, but I read it slightly differently. So LG gave his performative annoyed sigh, but then I think he was going to push cxs off him like he normally would (and probably has in timelines before) but he realized that he could just let CXS sleep there peacefully without changing anything important. He was considering it, and that's why he paused and then looked so shocked when CXS sat up on his own two seconds later after the ding. I think LG was SUPPOSED to push CXS off his shoulder. But he didn't. Which would have some implications for how strict he's actually being with the timeline (as well as how soft he is for cxs).

Comic of a funny moment from the fic “The Game” on AO3.
Kabru ignored the turmoil in his stomach and rushed onward. "My point was that you should look for someone you can share yourself with. Someone who likes the way you are.”
“I'm just not sure it's that simple for me,” Laios griped. "I'm not like you."

The funniest thing about only listening to tlt audiobooks is that i often get distracted so I only ever get about 75% of the information each time through (totally missed the actual Ortus-Gideon name explaination lol). So when i see posts in the tag that seem a little unhinged I never know if its because of a scene I missed or if that poster is just like that, and then I'm like 'well i guess I have to listen again to find out' and round and round we go.

I petition that the superhero team fighting in the Void henceforth be known as the Bladey Bunch.
Thank you. That is all.
#deadpool#deadpool and wolverine#but seriously how often do superheros use a blade as their main weapon?

No you don't get it, I'm a Good Person. You don't understand. I'm a Good Person which makes it okay for me to think violently about the Enemy, who is Bad Person. I'm commenting "you should be violently murdered" because I'm Good Person and you're Bad Person. You think saying that to someone is fucked up?? You should be violently murdered, you're probably Bad Person anyway

The huddy break-up obviously seems a little forced because of outside circumstances, but also House and Cuddy could never have lasted. Cuddy knew they could never last (see convo with Wilson long before they started dating where she predicts exactly what happens). House knew they could never last (that's why he was so upset when she got a kid because he knew that that decision killed any possibility that he and cuddy could have worked). That's why they didn't get together for so long. And then Cuddy realized that she couldn't commit to anyone else unless they tried. Then they tried, and they failed. That was the only way to get it out of their system. Because they did love one another, but being in love is not enough for a successful long-term relationship. Which is also why none of the confirmed couple's in House ever last.

Watching Princess Tutu after living with someone with Alzhiemer's is a different experience.
Suddenly, I understand perfectly how Fakir got to be so fucked up about Mytho. Like...Fakir had to tell him to do anything and everything and it's an uncomfortable feeling to have that much control over someone you love and admire. And then when Mytho doesn't listen it's even more frustrating because Fakir never asked for this responsibility in the first place and now he's getting crap about it from the person he's been caring for and some girl who just stumbled into this lifelong shitshow. And Mytho can't be trusted to make his own decisions because he doesn't remember anything so he can't protect himself and Fakir overreacts and goes into full-on dictator mode but it comes from a place of love and fear and...its so true its hard to watch honestly.

The whole point of writing fascist characters as human beings is that real fascists are also human beings. If you think of fascists as somehow less than human you are falling into the trap of letting their mentality frame your worldview, thus legitimizing their course of action!
When you start looking at fascists as subhuman the debate becomes 'which group is actually subhuman and which is being unfairly maligned?' And personally I'm not fucking comfortable with that question being on the table ever.

Woah, i don't know that I've ever understood the assignment as well as Moira Quirk understands Gideon the Ninth. That audiobook makes me embarrassed for other audiobooks. Like...holy shit.
Me reading GtN: She's a smartass i get it. Calm down.
Me listening to GtN: i actually get it now. I would die for this woman.
#gtn#gideon the ninth#moira quirk#her line readings are so so different from my brain and so so much better
