I see you

Daryl x reader  -   You never  though  Daryl would see you  or your feelings . But after  a midnight talk things began to change  for the both of you.

  It was late and you knew you should be sleeping.  But  your mind wouldn’t let you  rest. While you laid on your back staring up at the celling   your thoughts  were filled to earlier that day .

     You had been taking Judith for a walk around the community  in her stroller  because it was such a pretty day . Everyone was off doing there own things.  You didn’t mind being alone  it was a good time to think.

 You had rounded the corner and saw  Daryl sitting on the steps of the house.  You always saw Daryl even though he  never saw you . Not really  not the way you wanted  him too.

  You were shy  but you made yourself  walked over to him  " hey  what you doing just sitting there?"  you asked. He looked  up  " Waiting on Rick  " he replied  " We are going out  to check the traps we have set up outside the walls " he replied  

  You nodded " well me and princess here are just out for a walk " you said  and you saw a real smile come on his face when he looked at Judith . It made your heart speed up and you couldn’t take your eyes away from him

   He raised his  gaze up  to meet yours  . For a split second  he held it  and your heart  jumped into your throat. But the moment  was over when Rick came walking up  hollering for Daryl.

    You both looked away and he stood up    You watched him walked towards  Rick with a sigh..

 Now hours later you were laying  in bed  staring  up at the celling unable to sleep .  You finally gave up and slip out of bed and headed downstairs to get something to drink .

 You walked into the kitchen  it was quite  everyone  asleep   . You got a cup and pour you some water.  You turned around when you heard something in the other room.  You frown  everyone should be asleep you thought.

   You walked into the other room the living room .  Even though it was dark  you could see someone slump on the couch.  Walking  into the room  you saw  it was Daryl.  

  " hey what  are you doing up ?" you asked walking up to the couch .  He looked up at you and you couldn’t help but noticed how tried he look.  He just shrugged " Can't sleep "  he said.   " Oh " she said  she knew she should just go back to bed . But she couldn’t leave him .. "Wants some company ?"  you asked  He met your gaze and you saw the quick smile . " don't mind " he said

   You sat down on the couch next to him " So why are you up ?" he asked looking over at you head resting on the back of the couch . " Can’t sleep   my mind wont let me "  she said.

 " Thinking to hard uh?" he asked  and you smiled " I guess "  you replied.  For a few moments the two of you sat in silence but it was  a nice   comfortable silence  .  " did you and Rick do ok outside  with the traps "" you asked

 " Not too bad I guess  mainly rabbits   but it better than nothing. "  he said  .  You nodded  " I heard  talk of a supply run  sometime  in the next day or so "  you said " You going on that " you asked

   "Probably " he said with a sigh.. " What  wrong ?" you asked .. For a minute he didn’t reply   you didn’t push if he didn’t want to talk  then  that was ok .

  " I am just tried " he said softly  you glanced over at him  he was slouched  down farther against the couch .  " I wish sometimes that  I could say no "  he said .  " what do you mean?" you asked  . He sigh .. "I just feel like when something needs done   everyone looks to me right away "  

   You knew what he was talking about and you had noticed that too. You had wish sometimes that they would  lean on  someone else for a change .  " Yeah I can understand that "  you said .

   "   You don’t feel like you can relax " you said  " yeah " he said even softer.. You smiled .. " you’re a good guy  " you said  and he looked at you .. " But even  good guys  need a break "  you said  earning a rare smile from him.

 You wanted to reach out to him  to comfort him . But you weren't sure  you were to nervous.  "  You know " you said after a few minutes of silence  "  Sometimes I wish  people would see me " you said  

   " I know people see me  but I don’t know if anyone really knows me "  you said not looking at  him . " Everyone that I loved before this and really knew me  is gone  " you said

 " I try not to think to much   because it just makes   me feel worse "  you admitted. You still  were not looking at him . But  you didn’t need to cause in the next second he was reaching out and taking your hand into his.

   Your heart jump in  your throat  but  you forced herself to stay relaxed because you like this feeling and you didn’t want him to think you didn’t.  

   Again there was silence  as you try think of what to say . But he beat you to it.  " I see  you " he said softly  "  have for a while  " he add .  Your heart about flew out  beating so hard.  

  You looked over at him meeting his steady gaze  you gave him a small smile  and got one in return. It was silent after that  both of you lost in thought  but he didn’t let go of your hand and you didn’t pull away .  

   The longer you sat there with him the more relax you became. You  were thinking you should get to bed   you were more than ready to sleep now. You looked over to say something  but stop  when you noticed he had drifted off .  

    He look peaceful when he was resting   all the stress and worry just seem to melt off  him. He was right  most of the people  here  took him for granted  you didn’t think  they mean to .  You wanted to help him  wanted to see him relax more.

  You sigh and slowly   stood up  he didn’t stir  so you gently  got him stretched out on the couch  and pull a  blanket over him.  You stood there for a minute just watching as  he slept .  

 With a sigh you headed back  upstairs to your room and slid into bed. This time  you were asleep as soon as your head hit the pillow.

    For most of the next day  you found yourself thinking  back to the conversation  you had with Daryl. It had been nice  you just hope  you werent reading to much in it . That would be just like you.

   But when you  caught Daryl's gaze at breakfast and the small smile he gave you  reassure  you that  it wasn’t only you.  You couldn’t help  but smile for the rest of the day .

  That night you found Daryl  was on watch duty till late .  You  grab a jacket and headed out that way  . You climbed up the latter to where he was on stand. He turned around when you came up .

 "Something wrong ?" he asked  " No just  heard you were out here and I am a little wired tonight so if you want   I can take over for you  so you can do and.. Do what you want for the evening " you offered

  He just stared at you and you shifted uncomfortable  " I mean if you don’t  want to that ok  I just though ." you said  You started to turn back  when he reached out for  you . Grabbing your hand he stop  you .

   "Why don't we both just  keep watch " he suggested  you smiled and nodded  moving back up next to him.  You were both quite  and you couldn’t help but noticed how close he was standing next to you .

  "When it quite like this  you almost forget what is out there " you said as you looked into the woods  beyond the walls.  " I like the quite "he replied and you looked over at him " Me too "  you said.

  That was how the night went  neither one of you too concern on making conversation . But just enjoying each other 's company .  Finally after  a couple hours  you were relived and  the both of you climbed down.

 "Are you hungry ?' you asked the two of you walked back to the house.  " A little but you don’t have to worry about fixing me anything " he said   you smile " well it will only be fair  since I will be fixing myself something " you replied earning a grin from him

  He followed you inside and right into the kitchen  " You can go and sit and relax" you said . But he didn’t  he leaned up against the counter  just watching you .   You tried  not to let that make you nervous.

  You quickly fix  you both a sandwich . You handed   his to him.  Before  grabbing yours. " Come on " he said taking your hand  and  leading  you back into the living room. He lead you over to the couch  and  the two of you sat down.

  The two of you ate  in silence  and afterwards you didn’t want to move.  He slid an arm around your shoulders and pulled you towards him. You  went easily  . You should say something but you didn’t know what to say .

   You  shifted into a more comfortable position curling your legs  underneath you . You took a chance to  look  up at him  finding him staring down at you . You didn’t look away  in fear of breaking the spell  but he didn’t look away either  

  Before   you knew  what was happening his mouth was  on top of yours. It was slow and soft at first  . You allowed  him to control the  speed of the kiss. He  brought a hand   up to brush against   your cheek.  

  Then he was deepen  the kiss  pulling you in  an arm slipping around your waist. He was surprisingly  good at this . You shifted slightly  your body so you were at a better angle .

 He groaned  and pulled you  in more until you were pretty much in his lap .  You  placed  your hands on his chest  enjoying the feeling of the muscles  moving underneath your touch .        " is this what you want?"  he asked breaking away from the kiss  both of you slightly out breath.  You couldn’t stop the moan that escape you as you  leaned forward for another kiss. " yes " you said between kisses.

 With that  a loan groan escape  from  him as he pulled you more into his arms  and shifted getting  ready to stand up  . He slip his arm under you and then he was on his feet . You wrapped you legs  around  his waist.

  You don't remember  getting to your room But suddenly  you were you on back on your bed and his  body was pressing down  on you . His hot mouth  moving from  your mouth down your  jaw  as  rough hands   slip under  your shirt .

 It was almost to much  driving you  crazy  as you  pulled at him trying to get him closer. He pulled back suddenly  only to  remove  your shirt before coming back down kissing you  once again

  Much later  you were half asleep  laying on your side  Daryl behind you  arm around your middle . He pressed a soft kiss on the side her neck  " I see you "  he whispered softly  causing  you to fall asleep with  a smile on your face.

Forgiveness

Daryl x Reader  -

      This was a requested one shot  -  You find out your pregrant  and when you tell Daryl  the two of you  have a  argument  about having the baby . But then Daryl ignore  you and refuses to talk to you afterwards for weeks  until you decided to give up. 

    But then you get hurt out on a run  and is surprised  when Daryl shows up concerned.  But can you take him  back  can you find it in your heart to forgive. ?

    You sat  on the floor  of the bathroom with  the door  lock  . You were staring  down at the test in your hand.   This couldn’t be happening   it just couldn’t .  You closed your eyes and took a deep breath and hope  if you open  your eyes  that it would be a dream.  But it wasn’t  and the tears started to fall

    You were scared   you would admit that  you knew firsts hand in this new world  how easy   something as good as a child  could be taken from you.  You couldn’t handle it again  it would destroy you .

   After what seem like forever you slowly  climb to your feet  .  There wasn’t  much you could do about it. What was done was done. All  you had to do now is  tell Daryl  just thinking about  it caused  your heart to race.

  You knew he wouldn’t be thrilled but between the two of you  it would work out.  So you left the safety of the bathroom and  went in search of  Daryl.

   You found him in Eric and Aaron 's Garage  working on his motorcycle  . " hey can we talk ?" you asked walking up to him. He was crouch  low  twisting  something on the side of the bike.  

   He stop what he was doing and  looked at you  " yeah what 's up  though you weren't feeling good ?" he asked . You sigh  " I am feeling better "  you said. He nodded "  that good so what 's up .   You took a deep breath  " I am pregnant " you said just getting it out there  . He froze and stared at you for what seem like forever..  You finally spoke "  Are you going to say something  or just sit there ?"  she asked.

 Again he didn’t say anything but he did stand up  putting down his tools .  He wouldn’t look at her and that was making her nervous.   " I know this is unexpected  but  we can handle this.. " you said

     That he turned to towards you and looked at you glaring .. "  really  ?"he said  "You  think we can handle this  ?" he said  You frown   " yeah I know we can  "  you said .  Daryl threw down the rag in his hands and started pacing  

 " I can't belive this "  he said " Why would you .." he trailed off  " Why would I ?"  you asked getting a little frustrated .. " I seem to remember  that you were there as well " you snapped.  

 He glared at you " I wasn’t trying to get you pregnant  " he said  .." neither was I " you said  ,   " You told me  that it was almost impossible for you to get pregnant "  he said  

  You sigh and run a hand though your hair    " I though it was… " you said   you looked away from him.. " It took me going to a doctor  to get pregnant the last time " you said softly .

"We can't do this " he said  " this  isn’t a  world to raise a baby in. " Rick has  been lucky with Judith "  he said .. " What are we suppose to do  it a little late now  " you snapped   " Beside  we  are settled here we are safe  this could work " This will work " you added.

  Daryl shook his head  " How can you think you can keep this baby safe after what happen to Matthew "  he said  and  you froze..  Unable to say anything .. Tears sprang into your  eyes.

   You wanted to cry  you wanted to scream at that that wasn’t fair .That what happen to Matthew  wasn’t  your fault. Even though  deep inside   you  still blame yourself  .

 " I can’t do this  " he said  walked out of the garage   and all you could do was watch him go.

   you thought that if  you gave Daryl a little distance and space  he would cool down and then the two of you could really talk.  But that wasn’t the case  he refuse to talk to you for weeks.   Every time you try to talk to him he would just walk away .

  It was beyond frustrating and on top of that you had the worse case of morning sickness  ever.  You could barely drag yourself out of bed  in the morning.   The last time you had been pregnant  you didn’t remember being so sick.

 But you try not  think about that  thinking about your little boy  that would smile so sweetly at you.  So trusting  it  broke your heart.   Maybe Daryl was right maybe you were foolish to think you be able to  keep this baby alive when  you failed Matthew.

   You were scared and you needed Daryl . But he wouldn’t even look at you  or be in the same room as you . That hurt  it broke your heart because you though he really loved you . But to just leave you  to deal with this alone .

  So  after weeks of trying to get Daryl to talk to you . You gave up and went on living your life and  preparing yourself on having this baby alone . So just because  you were pregrant   didn’t mean you couldn’t help out .  So  when  there was a run for supplies set up  you offered to go .

   You went out with Glenn  , Rick and Maggie . You weren't planning to go out far just  enough to see if  you could find anything useful.   You were going to use this trip as way to distract  yourself from your problems.

   "Are you ok ?  Maggie asked  you as the two of you settled in the backseat  of the car. "  Not really but I will be " you told her. " Daryl still not talking to you ?"  she asked   You shrugged  " I have tried " he said  

    " Don’t worry I am sure  he will come around " Maggie said  You wanted to belive her but  You were beginning to have doubts.

    Where were they all coming from ?  You though  two hours later .You didn’t know where the others where and you  were trying to  get away from a swarm of walkers.  Everyone had split up to search more ground . But then suddenly  you were surround.

  You  shot a few  rounds before taking off in the first open space you could get.  You  were almost outside when  you trip  and stumbled forward . Your hands shooting out to  try to catch yourself

  Your landed hard pain shooting up and down your arm.  You didn’t have time to catch your breath  because you could hear  them coming  . You try scrambling to your feet  But one was almost on top of you when  suddenly guns  were firing .

  You looked up as Maggie ,Glenn and Rick  were standing a few yards away.  " Oh thank god "  you said dropping  to the ground in relife  .

  Maggie was by your side " Are you ok were you bit or starched ?" She asked  " No I am ok  but I do think I messed up my arm  " you said . " here  let's get you up "  Between Rick and Glenn you were pulled to your feet.

 " Can you walk ?"Rick asked.  " I think so " you said  and took a step forward  but as soon as you took a step  you felt yourself dropping.  But Rick's arms around you stop you from hitting the ground again .

  " Well that answer  that question " he said as he picked  you up and  started for the car.   You cradle  your arm against your chest try not to cry .

  Several hour later  you were curled up in bed  the pain in your arm had slightly  lessen  with the help of some medicine .  It wasn't broken but  it was  pretty bruise and your wrist was sprain.

  It was late and everyone had said goodnight  leaving you to your own thoughts.  You were to uncomfortable to sleep . So all you could do was just lay there and stare   up at the celling.

  Suddenly there was  knock on the door   and you shifted a little to face the door.  "Yeah  come in"   you said.  The door open  and  you were surprised to see Daryl walk in.

 You hadn't seen Daryl   all day.   He didn’t even come to check to see if you were ok.  So right now  you really didn’t have the patience  to deal with him.  

 " What do you want ?"  you asked  he frown as he step closer to you . " Are you ok.. How bad are you hurt ?"  he asked    You sigh  shifting again trying not to wince.

" I am fine just  banged up  my arm a little " you told him.  He was silent for a moment  and you sigh ..  "Anything else ?"  you asked  " How is the baby ?" he finally asked.

   This time it was your time to frown in confusion  " fine  " you said " why do you even care?"   you asked  . Some passed in his eyes  but it quickly disapered. He  sat down on the bed  

  " I care " he replied you closed your eyes  why was he doing this now . " Daryl please…" you said  you shook  your head and swallowed back tears.  " Why are you  doing this  ?" you asked  

 " For weeks I have been trying to talk to you but you  just ignore me  " you said  You blamed me for  Matthew death  "So why  now do you want to talk ."  she said.

He sigh " I am sorry ok "   I know I shouldn't have  brought up Matthew .. I don't  think your   to blame for his death. " he said  " When you told me about this baby  I panic  because  yeah  I never wanted to be a dad ." he said "  My own father was not the best lets say that." he said  

   You knew from the little that the told you that his father was  horrible and  you could understand his fears. " I shouldn’t  have taken  my fears out on you " he said  " and yes I was an ass for  treating you like I did . "  I regretted  it every day since .. But my pride   wouldn't let me  come to you . "  

  "But when  I heard you were hurt out on that run " I wanted to tell you I am sorry." he said.  "Are you ok ?" he asked "Really  ok "   he said  "  yeah it just my arm " you said  " and your sure that the baby is ok?"  he asked

  You looked at him and noticed he  really looked  concerned.  You sigh " yeah  I got checked out and he or she is doing ok " you told him.   He nodded  "That is good "  he said   lifting his gaze he met  yours.  

  All  you wanted all you needed was to be in his arms.  He must have  been thinking the same thing cause  he  shifted a little " do you mind ?" he asked  motioning towards the bed  .

   You couldn’t have said no even if you wanted to .  You nodded  and you caught the small smile his face before he turned away.

  You shifted  as he climbed in and you didn’t even think about it as you rolled over as much as you could with your arm and slid into his arms.   Your back to his chest he  laid his arm over your middle. You sigh and closed your eyes

   You felt his and slid over to rest on your stomach  and his lips pressed  on the back of your neck  . You smiled and  laid your hand over his . It might  not be perfect   there was still  a lot of unanswered  question   but for now  in this moment  everything was  right  in the world

A little bit of fun never hurt anyone

Rick X Reader  -  based on the prompt "“The paint’s supposed to go where?” Repainting  the inside  the house turns out to be  more than a little messy but it also turned out to be a whole lot of fun .

"Hey look what I found  while  I was out " You  said with a grin as you walked up to Rick  having just got back from a run with  Daryl.

  "What ?" Rick asked as he leaned in a kissed you gently .  You lifted the two  cans of paint   up for him to see  "  there at 4 more in the car  I thought maybe we can repaint some of the rooms in the house " you said

   He grinned  "Doesn’t that sound fun ?' you asked  He laughed "Depends on the color " he said.    " it a pale yellow " you replied  " I was looking for a bright pink but  they were all out  " you joked

   "Well darn it "  he replied  " so you will help me ?"  you asked giving him the look  that always  got you what you wanted. His reply was an roll of the eyes but you knew he would help

   You leaned in for another kiss  " Thank you " you said as you pulled back he pulled you back in for a deeper kiss.

   It was three days later when  the two of you finally got a chance to use the paint.  It was a warm and sunny day and   you decided to  paint the bed room first.

   All the windows were open and  most of the furniture had been  remove .  Carl  had taken Judith over to Carol's  while the paint was drying.

  You had changed into  a pair old  jeans that you had cut  into short and one of Rick's white  undershirts .  You pulled your hair up into a messy ponytail

 " have you ever  done this before  ?" Rick  asked as he walked into the room  " Not really but it can't be too hard " you replied glancing at him " have you ?"

   He smiled " I attempted once  Lori wanted the  living room painted and I guess I didn’t do it right  and we ended up with a professional " he replied

  "well  I think between the two of us we can figure this out " you replied  with a smile.

   After a messy start  and a short discussion on how to go about this   . The two of you got into a rhythm.  That was one of things about  Rick you loved how well the two of you work together .  Even without words .

 The two of you had been working in silence for  a little while . You step back   to admire  your handiwork . It wasn't looking to bad . You turned to Rick.

 "So what do you think ?" you asked   he glanced at the wall and then you  ." it looking good but I think you missed a spot " he said  .

 You frown "What ?.. Where ?" you asked  and before you could react he reached up and  wipe the paint brush against your cheek.

 You gasp  in shock " What  was that "  you said  to a laughing Rick .  " you missed a spot  " he said again grinning  .

 You gave  him a look trying hard not to smile . But you could tell it wasn’t working. " You know  the pain is suppose to go on the walls  "  you replied

  Again  Rick being quicker   spread another  blot of paint on the  other check "The paint is suppose to go where ?" he asked laughing

  This time you were faster than him and manage to get  the side of his face before  he darted out to try to grab you arm.

 'Now that is where the paint is suppose to go " you said laughing as you kept moving out of his grasp .  You had very little room to move  trying to avoid the wet walls and he was guarding the  doorway.

 " You know we can both walk away from this  just put down the brushes  " you said  and he grinned  " Your just saying that  cause your trap "he said

 He  took a step forward  you took a step back  but you didn’t have much room to move .  The two of you eyeing  each other  waiting for the other 's move. It was a bit silly consider the state of the world.

  But you felt that you needed these silly time  to help balance  out all the crappy times.  Plus  you love to see Rick smile and laugh.  

   You were trying to  figure out your next move when he surprise  you with  his speed  as he lunged at you and before you could even move with his free had had you by the hand  with the brush .

   "Hey " you  said laughing  as he gently but firmly  twisted   you arm around your back  making you drop the brush .  " This isn't fair " you said  " this is a total cop move " you add

 He laughed "well good thing I used to be a cop now doesn’t  it "  he said  as he took his brush  and  swiped  a little on your nose.  You struggled a little more only for the fact  that your body was brushing up against his every time  you did.

   He gave you a look " I know what you are doing " he said   You grinned " what is that ?"  you asked as you  brushed up against him again.

 " You are trying to distract me  " he said  " Maybe " you replied " is it working ?"  you asked  " Maybe " he replied  but then he was dropping his own  brush  and pulled you into his arms  his mouth  coming down on yours.

 Paint was quickly forgotten as  he pressed his body  right up against her  . His hands sliding underneath your shirt .  The feeling of his hands on  your skin   made your heart speed up in your chest.

       You wanted  to feel him on top of you  needed to feel everything . He seem to have the same idea and  pulled you back a little to a clean spot on the sheet that was spread out on the floor.

   "Down " he said in between kisses. But before either one of you could start moving  you were brought back to reality  when someone clears their throat    

 You  pulled apart and looked over  where Michonne was leaning against the doorway with a huge grin on her face.  " I can see the painting is coming along " she said .

  You knew your face was probably red  But you just shrugged   sharing a little smile  .  Michonne laughed  "well I will just let you finish up " she said grinning and  reached for the door as she left closing it behind her.

  "Well I guess we should.." you started to  suggested getting back to finishing up  but Rick was pulling you down   along with him.   His mouth  on yours stopping you from finishing  your sentence.

 "Now where were we  ?"  he whispered in your ear .

He is mine

Rick X reader  - You and Rick are together   and everyone at the prison knows it.  But  things get complicated when the new girl decided she doesn't care.

" She is doing it on purpose  " you said to Michonne  who just chuckled .  You glanced at her  "What I am serious " you replied. Turning to look back as Megan who was getting a lesson how to handle a gun from Rick.

  "She doing more flirting than paying attention to what he saying. " you said. Again Michonne chuckled  " Someone is sounding a little bit jealous " she commented.

  You shook your head and leaned up against the wall of the tower that  you and her were on  while on watch.   " I have no reason to be jealous " you murmured.

 You knew that everyone  in the prison knew you were  with Rick . But that didn’t seem to stop Megan flirting with him every chance she got . She and her brother had only been with the group for a couple weeks

 Rick and Daryl had found them fighting walkers and brought them in. You realize right away that Megan was  into Rick  . For the first couple days she did nothing but talk about how he saved her.

 Ok you got that really you did  someone saving your life  was a big deal . But come on  gratitude was good only so far. You wanted to say something  but  you didn’t want to start  anything.   Life was stressful enough .

  " You might have to say something  she might not stop otherwise  " Michonne comment.  You sigh as you watch as Megan leaned Into Rick personal space sliding a hand up his arm.

   " You might be right "   was all you could say

   "Megan is really starting to get on my nerves " You said  when you and Rick were finally alone  in your cell. You were getting ready for bed  You slip into a t-shirt and  shorts  .  You pulled your hair down  running your fingers through it.

  " what is she doing ?" he said coming up behind you his hands on your hips .You rolled your eyes  of course he doesn't realize it  he was a man after all.

 You turned around to face him leaning in and pressing your lips to his.  " she wants what is mine " you whispered in between kisses.  "Oh really ? "  he said as he pulled you  into him.

  His arms around you  his mouth making his way down your neck . One hand  sliding  underneath your shirt.  He slowly pushed back towards the bed .

 "Well you see who I am with  now  " he said still kissing the side of your neck .  You grinned  " oh yes " you replied as you returned  his kisses

  The next day you were getting ready to go out on a run with Daryl . You gather your gun and knife and walked outside.  You were expecting to take his bike because with just the two of you  it was easier.

 But you found him putting the gear in the truck instead. "What is going on ?" you asked  him walking up to him.  "We have a extra person coming with us " he replied

  "What ?" you asked  getting a look from him you knew who it was  . "Really " you said as you turned around and watch Megan come out of the prison .

  "Rick ok with this ?" you asked  Daryl shrugged  " she asked  wanted to help out  " Daryl said.  You groaned  "Just great " you said underneath  your breath  as you  slid into the passenger front seat.

 Daryl climbed in the driver seat leaving Megan the back. " just be nice  just be nice " you kept telling yourself  .  " you sure you  up to this trip ?" Daryl asked as he drove the car out of the gates.

 " oh yeah  " Megan said with a laugh  " I had a great teacher in Rick " she said  and you and Daryl shared a look and you had to bite your tongue  to keep from lashing out.

   The car fell silent  the rest of the way . You were going to hit a couple stores that were about an hour out from the prison . You were hoping that they  had some useful stuff . Winter was coming and warmer clothing were  needed .

  The first store was successful  as far as clothes and food went  .There were only a few walkers  around that you and Daryl took care of easily . You noticed how Megan didn’t rush to help .   But still you kept your mouth shut  " be nice " still running though your head 9+    The second store was different story . There was more walkers to handle they were all around the front of the store.  You were pretty sure that there were more inside.

  "So what do you think?"  you asked Daryl ."Too  many ?" you asked. " No  we should be able to handle it if we be careful "  he replied  You nodded and climbed out of the car

  "We will clear out here first and then take the  inside. " you said . You were secretly glad when Megan stay near Daryl . You pushed her out of your mind to concentrate on the task at hand.

 It was short work to kill all the reaming walkers outside. The real challenge would be going inside.  "I will go in first "Daryl said  " I will follow " you said

  Megan open the door on the count of three and Daryl  ducked inside . You followed quickly  with her following you.  Daryl took one direction while you  went the other way

  You were aware that Megan was close behind you  but you chose to keep your attention  in front of you . You kept watch as Megan begin to clear the shelves.

  This went on for a couple minutes row after row. " do you want to check  in there "Megan asked pointing  at  a closed door  .  " it probably a stock room with my more supplies  " she said

 you nodded " you open the door and I will take anything that comes out " you replied. She nodded and grab a hold of the door you  counted to three in your head before giving her a nod.

   When the door open  more walkers  poured out  more than you were expecting.  You started  fighting them off   one by one. You looked around and cursed when you realize that Megan had taken off.

 You cursed and killed another one But before you could react  you felt  yourself being grab.  But before you could do anything  a arrow went through the head of the walker.

  You glanced up at Daryl ." You ok?" he asked  you nodded  "Megan she ditched me "  you replied .  "Where is she ?" you asked  He nodded towards the door  .

 "Do we have everything ?" you asked  Daryl nodded " there wasn’t much but we got what there was " he replied.  You nodded and headed outside not sure what you were going to say to Megan .

  You were afraid that your temper was going to get the best of you. But She was smart and avoided your eyes and kept silent  as she slid back into the car.

   That was the only reason you managed to keep your cool the entire way back to the prison. The tension was high in the car as you pulled back into the gates.

   Megan was the first   and heading inside.  You took your time "Are you going to say anything to her ?" Daryl  asked  You looked over at him " yeah but I want to wait till I am cooled down  " you replied, " if not I might say or do something I would regret  "

  Daryl smiled " better person than I am " he replied and you laughed as you climbed out of the car.  You started towards the building looking for Rick.

    You walked inside and  right away found Rick sitting at one of the tables feeding Judith.  But Megan was right there talking leaning a hip against the table  a little too close to Rick for comfort.

   At that point   you lost it and  you were walking up to them before you even realize   you were moving.  You grab her arm to get her attention and  before anyone could say anything   you punched her  as hard as you could.

 she dropped her knees holding her nose.  Without saying anything else you turned and walked back to your cell.

  You sat down on the bed  flexing your hand  it was sore  but nothing broken.  Maybe you shouldn't have done it . But  you had reach your level with your patient with her.

   " Want to explain to me what  that was about  ?" You looked up as Rick appeared in the doorway of the cell.   " I am not apologizing " you said

  He walked in and sat down beside you  " I kind of figure that you wouldn’t hit her without a reason " he said and you sigh and explained to him what happen.

  " I guess I just lost my cool after that. " you said  Rick didn’t say anything  but did take your hand gently into his and  started examine  it.

  " It doesn't  hurt  " you replied  he looked at you and brought  your hand up to his lips and kiss it softly . " That was a pretty good  hit " he said "Remind me not to tick you off "   You grinned and leaned in for a kiss.

Daryl x Reader-  based on prompt :" I don't want to have a baby "

You tell Daryl that you are pregnant and his  response  isn't something   you excepted.

"Are you listening to what I am saying ?" you said trying to get Daryl to turn around to face you.  "You can't just ignore what I just told you " you said walking up to him and pulling on his shoulder to get him to turn around .

   "I heard you " he said finally speaking  but he wouldn’t look you in the eye.  " so I tell you  I am pregnant   and you  don't  have anything to say  .  " you said.

  "What do you want me to say  ?"  he asked "Anything  this is your baby too "   you replied  He shook his head  " I don’t want to have a baby " he said finally raising his head to meet your eyes.    All the air seem to leave your body when he spoke those words  . You could only stare at him  there was no emotion in his expression .

  He was closing down  closing himself off to you .  That hurt  a  whole lot.  You blinked back tears and try to regain some composure . You refuse to let him see you break down.

 " Well I am sorry  about that  but this baby is coming " you said ." But that doesn’t mean you have to be apart of his or her life. "  You took a deep breath  " or mine "

  At that you saw the  flash of something in his eyes  before  you turned away " Don't worry about  us  we will be just fine " you said  and walked away  .

  " He looked me in the eye and told me he didn’t want the baby "  you said as you wiped at your eyes . Michonne  put her arms around  you where you were curled  up in your bed.

   "He is scared  "Michonne said "I know I am scared to  after seeing what happened to Lori  " you replied  " I really need him and he is pulling away "  you said

   You broke down again and  cried or what felt like the  hundredth time after you realize that you might have to go through this alone.

  " you need some rest "  Michonne said throwing a blanket around you.  "Sleep and I will come get you for dinner " she said.

   You had no energy to argue  so   you closed your eyes and drifted off before Michonne got off the bed.

   You tried to avoid Daryl as much as you could and in the end it was pretty  easy . You spent most of the time  with either Michonne or Maggie .

   "Hey me  and Glenn are going out on a run  for some supply " Maggie said  walking up to you one morning after breakfast

 "Let me come  " you said   Maggie frown " are you sure  ?"  she asked . You stood up  " yeah I am good " you said .

 "Alright we are leaving in 10 " Maggie replied  you nodded

  5 minutes later you walked outside  heading towards the car  the three of you would be taking.  You  paused for a second when you saw Daryl talking to Glenn at the back of the car.

   But you knew you could avoid him forever. So you walked straight ahead   ignoring  his looks  and open the back door of the car .

   " You shouldn't be going  "  you turned around to face Daryl  "Why not ?"  you asked  " The more people out there the less chance something will go wrong." you told him.

   "Get someone else   you should.. You need to stay  here "  Daryl said .. You glared at him "Why do you care  ?"  you asked

   You shook your head " You know what forget it I will be fine"  you said as you slid into the car and shut the door before he could say anymore on the subject.

     A couple minutes  later  Glenn and Maggie climbed into the car  . " You ok ?" Maggie asked turning around in the front passenger seat.

  "yeah I am fine " you replied  " He is just worried about you "Glenn spoke up as he started the car.   You shook your head  " he made it clear that he is not that worried"  you replied

   You stared out the window  " I will be fine..  We will both be fine "  you said softly and you wonder to yourself  if you really believe that . ***************************************

  The trip was going smoothly. The three of you  were getting in and out the buildings and house without any major trouble.

  That was until you reached the last house that you were going to hit that day.  Glenn and Maggie  took the downstairs and you headed up .

  With your gun in your hand you searched room by room finding little stuff along the way.  You reached the last door and open it slowly.

   But before you could react  three walkers  stumbled towards  you  before you could shut the door.

 Without thinking you starting firing hitting one but  missing the other two. You back out hearing  yelling down stairs  .

  You headed for the stairs  but as you reached the staircase  you felt a hand grab your arm.  In your panic  you jerked away and lost your balance .

   You knew you were falling  but you didn’t remember much  after you hit  that first step  it all went black. ************************************************

   Someone was calling your name over and over. That what you realize when you started to come around.  That and you were in pain.

    "y/n can you open your eyes for us "  that was Maggie so you forced your eyes open  and found her and Glenn hovering over you  with worried looks on their faces.

  " I am .. Ok " you managed to get out   "Thank god.  "Maggie said . They both help you sit up   you winced  at the pain in your leg.

   "Did I fall ?" you asked  " yeah from a couple walkers.  "Glenn said.

   " Are you hunt  can you move  ok ?"  Maggie asked   "I think " you replied  you said testing  your legs.

    You winced as you tried to bend your knee  " I think I twisted my knee "  you said .

  "Alright let's get  you up and back home " Glenn said and between him and Maggie  they pulled you to your feet.  They put their arm around  you and started out of the house.

   Once in the car with your leg stretched out in front of you  a horrible though came to you . "What about my baby ?"  you asked tears welling up in your eyes.

  Maggie turned around to face you " We will have you checked out when we get back " she said " just try to relax." you nodded  and settled back into your seat .

   You had been stupid  you had wanted to prove to everyone that you would be fine alone  and didn’t need Daryl .

 Now you might have lost your baby and you  have never felt more alone then at that moment.

 The car finally  came to a stop within the gates. "Don’t try to get out  we will help you get to the doctor's . " Glenn said as  him and Maggie got out of the car .

 You pushed open the car door and slid to the edge of the seat. You stood up leaning heavily on your good leq  while the two of them  came around to get a side.

   "just take your time "Maggie said as you huff and puff with each step.  "What  happen ?"  You all looked up as Daryl stop in front of you.

   "She ok  just twisted her knee " Maggie replied  "We are going to get her checked out  " Glenn said

 " I will take her "  Daryl said stepping forward.  You shook your head  " No it fine "  you said   He ignore you and  bent down and picked you up bridal style

  "Daryl  stop I told you I could handle it " you said trying not to enjoy of being so close to him . You had to stay strong .

   " Yeah I see the way your handling it " he snapped voice filled with frustration  .  You didn’t bother to respond . You knew it would only make things worse.

  So you stayed quite as he  walked you up to the doctor's house. He was let in and told to put you on the bed .

  "So what happen?" Adam asked coming to sit beside you and start looking at your knee.  You glanced at Daryl as you told the story .   His gaze became stormier as you went. " so I fell  and came to with Maggie and Glenn over me " you said

 "It hurts to bend " Adam asked as he prodded you knee . You jump a little at the pain. "  I don't think you dislocated but  it probably sprained." Adam said.

   " you shouldn’t be on it for about a week "  you nodded.. You opened your mouth to ask.  But Daryl beat you to it.

 " What about the baby ?" he asked  surprising  you that he even care to ask.   Adam looked at you surprised .  You nodded " I just found out " you told him.

  "well let me take a look  I don’t think you have anything to worry about since you so early on .. " he said. Rolling over the ultrasound machine  that they had been lucky enough to find .

 You lifted your shirt  heart in your throat.  You looked up when Daryl came to stand next to you.  You wanted to ask but  Adam  put the gel on your belly and you attention  was turned to the small screen.

     That when you saw it . Your baby for the first time.  It was a little blurry blob  but it was there and that what  was important .

 "Looks good "  your probably about   8 weeks along "Adam said.  " and the baby alright I didn’t hurt it when I fell "  you asked

  " No I think your fine " Adam said  " But you should take it easy for a couple days just to be sure." come  back if you start cramping"

  You nodded and sat up "Thank you " you said .   You started to stand  but Daryl beat you to it by picking you up again.

 "Really this is not necessary "  you told him  He didn’t say anything  just continued to walk towards you  house.

  You didn’t try to say anything more knowing  how stubborn  he could be . You just waited till he got you back to your place and sat you down and you could be alone.

  He walked  into the house and sat you on the couch " Thanks " you said half expecting  him to leave . But he sat down next to you .

   "What do you want ?" you asked  "We need to talk "  he replied.  "Really ?" you asked  " I been wanting to talk but you are good at  avoiding me .  " he said

 You rolled your eyes  " I was just making it easier on you " you replied  "I didn’t asked  for you to  "   if you had given me  chance to explain  " he said

 "Explain what  ?  You don't want this baby  "  you said  " I have never thought about having kids " he said " and in this world these days it makes it even harder. "

  " But with you I know we can  do this  " he said  you stared at him ..  He scooted closer " I am sorry that you thought  you had to go through this alone "  But you don’t "  he said  .

  You blinked back tears  your emotions  were all over the place these days. "I didn’t want  to  I know that I acted like I didn’t care  but I need  you "  you said

Hard Goodbyes

Rick X reader  -  You have to comfort Rick after Carl dies   all the while you try to come to grips with your own emotions.

AN/ : So like everyone else I did not see them killing Carl off  . I know that the next episode will be emotional . I felt like writing and this just pop into my head

      You stared down at Carl in horror as he lowered his shirt  . You were frozen  where you stood as your mind trying to catch up with what was happening.

   You wanted to scream you wanted to cry at the unfairness of it all. But truth was you were numb.  With your home burning down to the ground  above you  and the boy that you had known for years  and grown to love like your own son  was dying  right in front of you.

  You weren't sure which way to turn or how to act . "Dad ?"  It was carl finally speaking that brought you out of your own head and dropping to your knees beside  him

 You finally looked over at Rick who look destroyed  He was still staring at Carl  not saying anything  . But you saw the pain in his eyes  the emotion passing across his face

 "Dad "Carl said again a little louder  reaching out with a hand to grab Rick's . "It's going to be ok " he said once again being the voice of reason.

" How ?" Rick asked in a strangled voice tears slipping silently down his face. " By moving forward  doing the right thing "Carl said softly  he winced in pain as he shifted

  " We need to get you somewhere … comfortable " you managed to get out  . Carl shook his head " I will be fine " he said

 But he wasn't fine  you could tell it was already getting hard for him to breath. You reached out placing a hand on top of his  he was burning up .

  You stood up and reached for Rick . " Why don't we take  a minute and let the others say their goodbyes 's  you said  you nodding towards the rest of the group .

 Rick could only nod and you pulled him off to the side allowing for Daryl with Judith in his arms to come up .

 " Hey " you said softly getting Rick's attention  " Can you talk to me." you said  reaching out to touch his cheek softly.

  " Is this my fault  ?" he asked .. "No it not " you said . " Your doing the best you can "  You  pushed yourself forward and kissed him softly.. "It going to be ok " you said softly

 His arms slipped around  your waist  and he buried his face into the side of your neck.  All you could do was hold on and let him know  your  were there.

After everyone had a chance to say something  you took your turn . You dropped to your knees and took his hand into his.  " This isn't fair  " you said unable to keep the tears out of your voice .

  Looking older than what he was  Carl just smiled sadly  " When has life ever been fair "  he replied. " Promise  me something " he asked  "Anything " you said

 " Dad  you have to make sure he going to be ok " he said . Tears filling  your eyes  " of course   " you said   "We will be ok  " you told him  earning a tried smile from him.

  You gave his hand one last squeeze and stood up  moving aside so Rick could get down there. You step away to give them so privacy.

  You picked up Judith  and hugged her close. She laid her head on your shoulder . "What do we do now  "  Daryl asked softly   You glanced over at  Rick who was still talking quietly with Carl

 You turned back to Daryl  " Move on  " you replied  blinking back the tears. "Get out of here and somewhere safe  "  Somewhere we can regroup catch our breath "

    You met Daryl's gaze and he nodded .  You turned around when you heard Rick sobbing . It was clear  that it was over and you felt the pain deep inside you.

   You closed your eyes and allowed the tears to finally fall.

 It took some planning and a lot of work on everyone's part. But somehow  you managed to get everyone out of the sewers  and to the hill top  without running into any saviors  .

  That including Carl.  Rick wanted somewhere nice to bury him and Daryl suggested next to Glenn and Abraham . So that what  you did with everyone that loved him  there  to say one last goodbye.

  You were worried about  Rick . You had seen him lose a lot of people in the time  you had known him but  this was his child.

   Everyone stayed  together at the hilltop to recover and to talk about where to go from here .   You knew that Rick was throwing himself into planning   to keep from thinking or dealing with his pain.

 He slept very little and ate  only when you made him.  He was going to make himself sick and that was the last thing he needed  or anyone needed.   This fight with Negan was getting ugly .

     So finally after waiting for a hour for him to come to bed after he promised you  he would call it a night early . You went in search for him.

    You found him sitting next to Carl's grave . " hey I thought you were coming to bed  " you said walking up to him.   He looked up at you  " I can't " he said softly

   Your heart broke for him and you sat down next to him " But you need your rest " You reached for his hand. "You need to let me keep my promise  " you said

   He gave a look "What ?" he asked  " My promise to Carl  " you said " I promise that I would take care of you make sure you would be ok " you told him .

   Rick looked away and down at the grave. " He never got a chance to be a kid. " he said softly . " He had to grow up way to fast  "  he said

" I know and he grew up to be such a good man  " because of you  "   you told him.  "He saved  a lot of people that night by getting people out before  everything went down  "  You should be proud. "

  He didn’t say anything and you just sat there  with him  providing him the comfort he needed.

 When it got too chilly  to sit outside any longer you stood up  pulling him with you   " let go to bed " you  said pulling him back  to room the two of you shared .    Once inside  and underneath the covers he pulled you  into his arms . Bringing his mouth down on yours  . You groaned into the kiss and pressed yourself closer to him. Wrapping  your arms around  him .

 He buried his face in the side of your neck and you felt his grip on your tighten .  Sleep was long time coming for either of you .  Goodbyes are hard  .

I am so ready to see Negan on the ground and Rick standing over him.  Rick’s been beat  down to many times by Negan and lost to many people because of him.

So many emotions  in this scene  . I don‘t see the point in killing Carl off he has  been on since the start . But I am glad that he will get to say goodbye to his famil In this show that is not always an option.   

   But this  proves my point  NO ONE IS SAFE  on this show. Just because some one  has been on for years don’t mean any thing. 

   But over all I like this episode and  I can’t wait till Feb. to get here

Imagine Rick teaching you how to shoot a gun

    " If you want to learn how to shoot a  gun maybe you should ask Rick " Maggie suggested as the two of you  walked along the huge metal walls that surrounded the  community .

   You know I can't do that  " you told her stuffing both your hands into the pockets of your jeans.  "Why not ?"   Maggie asked   "I can barely talk to the man let alone ask him for a favor "  you replied

 Rick's  a really sweet guy   he wouldn’t mind  to help you out "Maggie replied  you shook your head " I  know he is " you said  " but  I get to nervous  around him . " my heart feels like it going to fly right out of my chest. " you told her

   Maggie chuckled " that cause you have feelings for him "  she replied.   You had no words to respond to that because  you couldn’t deny it  .  From the very first  you met Rick you knew he was different.

   But every time you try to talk to him it came out sounding stupid so you just try to stay quiet around him.  Try not to be noticed .

"Why can't you show me how to shoot a gun ." you asked  " your really  good "  Maggie  shook her head.  " I guess I could"  she said

"  You guess what ?"   The new voice  behind you made you jump a little and both  you and Maggie turned around . Your heart dropping to your stomach  when  you saw Rick  standing there  grinning  at the two of you .

   You glanced at Maggie hoping  she would  keep your secret  . But  you didn’t like the look in her eyes .  " Y/n  was asking me to teach her how to shoot a gun . " Maggie said

 Rick glanced at you  surprised  You looked away before you could speak. " I just figure that even though we have these walls  that someday  I might need to protect myself  " you said

 You took a deep breath before continuing  " plus I like to help on  supply runs " you said .  "  I want to be helpful"  you said  .  You finally looked up  catching  the smile on Rick's face.

 "So I was telling her that she should ask you  how  to handle a gun"  Maggie cut in  earning a glare from you .  " You don’t have to though.. I mean you probably got a lot more stuff you need to be doing"   you told him quickly before he could say anything.

 " No  it ok  " Rick  replied  you  glanced at  him " I would be happy  to show you " he said.  Your heart jumped in your throat  and you were at loss for words. You hadn't really expected him to  want to help you.

   "Oh .. Well thanks "  you managed to get out  . " How about later today  I got to go  on watch  right now but maybe later "  he suggested.  You nodded  "Sure that good thanks"

    He locked eyes with you and smiled before waving to Maggie and walking off  .   You turned to Maggie who was looking smug.  " see that wasn’t so bad was it ?"  she asked.

   All you could do was shake your head at her and try not worry that you're going to make a fool out of yourself.

 Later in the evening you made your way  over to the makeshift shooting range  . You half excepted Rick  maybe to forget  his promise to you.  But the other half  of you was hoping he would show .

   Your  were nervous but excited all at the same time. But you didn’t have much time to worry about it too much . Because the next thing  you knew Rick was walking up to you.

 He was grinning and that had your heart racing even more than it already was.  " Hey " he said coming to stop  in front of you.  You took a deep breath  " Hey.. Thanks again  for helping  me   You really didn’t have to " you said

He chuckled  " Yeah you said that before " he replied and you looked away  feeling your cheeks heating up .  " But I don’t mind  really " he said  and he took a step closer . Meeting your eyes it was making it hard for you to take a breath.

 But then the moment was over. He held out a gun for you " I brought you this figuring  this would be the easiest to start off with.  " he said

   You slowly took the gun.  It felt weird  in your hand it was heavier than  you expected.   You looked back up at Rick   hoping that your nerves  didn’t show  on your face.

 "Ok so turn around and try point the gun at that board that leaning against the wall' Rick said  . You did as you were told and raised the gun . You were extremely aware of   Rick stepping even closer  behind you

 Just hold steady find  the middle of the board and  pull the trigger  " he said  his voice so close to your ear.   You tried to concentrated hard on what was right in front of you .   But he was making it really difficult.

   But you  did the best you could  as you aimed the gun and fired.   The bullet  did hit the broad to your surprise but it  hit at the very top  not in the middle.

 " That not bad  you hit the board at least  " he said  "Try it again. "   you took a deep breath and raised the gun again . But you about dropped it when his hands were suddenly on your arms.

 " You have really good form  " he said  his lips right next to your ear  . You bit your bottom lip trying to keep any sound from coming out . " You just need to keep steady  when you pull the trigger  " he said  

   You managed to nod before pulling the trigger again  . Your second shot  was closer  to the middle this time.  "  Hey that was pretty good  "  he said again very closer to you

 It would be so easy to turn and find out if  kissing him would be everything  you dream it would be.  You were not moving  but neither was he  you noticed.  " So what do you think?"  he asked  again so close .

 " uh um  good " you replied  on a shaky voice  Then he shifted and came around where he was standing in front of you . You made yourself  look up at him. " can I ?"He asked You knew what you meant and before you could think  you were nodding

You saw the way his eyes lit  up when he saw this . Then in the next second his mouth was  on yours.

It was sweet so sweet as he gently kissed asking for  you to open up to him. There was  no way  you could not.  When you did and he deepen the kiss  he moaned  and pulled you closer.

   Your one free hand found it way up his chest and along his shoulder . Feeling the muscle   moving underneath your hand .

 Finally  he pulled back leaving you breathless.  You could only stare  up at him trying to figure out what to say next  .  " do you always kiss  people your teach how   to shoot?" you asked '    He grinned .." Nope  just the cute ones  " he replied leaning in to kiss you again.

such a funny story how this happen.  I normally don’t like  zombie shows  .  But my friend kept telling me I need to watch  this one  show . She said it was  awesome and  she knew I would like it . 

    So I started watching  and  when I saw that first walker  I about turned it off . But I didn't and then I got hooked on the story line and that was it for me !!!  Been a fan since.

You couldn't be falling  in love with your best friend.  But then Negan  comes and drags Daryl away while you watch  on your knees and you wonder if  you will ever be able to tell Daryl the truth.

You met Daryl   when you had been looking for a place to rest for the night and ran into a small group of walkers.  They had been coming in from all sides  when  the first arrow came flying to  take down a walker.

   That gave you the break you needed to go on the attack . Between the two of you all the walkers went down.  That  when you finally had the chance to really see who your hero was.  

 Crossbow in hand  dirty and torn jeans shirt  a dark blue shirt with a vest  over it . His hair was covering most of his eyes . But what you remember most about meeting him that day was the very first thing  he asked you .

"  Are you ok ?"  it was  simple question and after being attacked by walkers it was a question that everyone should be asking but  not in this new world. People were mean in this new world at least in your opinion .

 So when he asked  if you were ok that hit you. You were a stranger and he saved you . So when he also offered you a safe place with a group  you went with him.

   He took you back to a prison  and that where you finally learn to trust people again.

 As time passed  the two of you grew closer. He was a closed person to begin with but so were you . What started out as someone giving you  a second chance to live  turned out to  be finding one of your best friends

When the prison fell and  everyone scatter  . You were left with  a badly injured Rick and Carl . You had been calm and collected as  you help get Rick away from the prison . But inside you were panicking when you realize  you had no idea where Daryl was.

 That was a scary time but then one day he was back by your side. He told you and Rick that he had escaped with Beth but now she was gone . You felt a little pang in your heart when you saw how upset this made Daryl.  He appeared to have really cared for Beth.

 That was the first sign that you feelings were changing for  your friend. But you  choose to ignore it .  You told yourself that these feelings would go away  .

 Then the group made it to Alexandria and for the first time since the prison you relaxed .  You and Daryl were in a good place and you thought everything would be fine.

   You favorite thing  was riding  on the back of Daryl's bike  with him . Your arms wrapped around his middle.  You choose to ignore the way your heart flutter with the closeness . You told yourself that it was the thrill of riding the bike and not the man.

 Once again you choose to ignore what was growing inside telling yourself that you would think about it later.

 Of course you couldn’t know what later would bring.

    You watched in horror with as Negan's men dragged a bleeding Daryl to the back of a truck and threw him inside and shut the door. You  were in shock  if you could have moved  you didn’t think you could have.

Kneeling on the ground with the bodies of your friends just a few feet from you . You wanted to throw up  . You wanted to pass out  But you couldn’t. You watch helpless as  Negan and his men drove away with  Daryl and that when  it hit you  . That when  you couldn’t ignore it any longer

 The love for him finally pushing through the denial  and busting out into the open  so hard it hurt. You were to stupid to see and now  it too late. You didn’t know what Negan had plan for Daryl but from what you had seen it wasn't going to be good.

   So you did what you did best  you pushed everything  down and moved on with your life. Trying to help your friends recover from this latest  hit.

 It wasn't until you came across some of Daryl  old arrows  that  you lost it. You had been cleaning up after the Savior's came and destroy and took what they wanted.

   You found them in an old box in the garage  you slowly picked them up  . You were trying to forced  the tears back. But they were too strong and you just lost it .

 Sobs racked your body as you clutch the arrows to your body . You don’t know how long you stood there and cried but suddenly arms wrapped their way around you  pulling you into a strong chest.

 You knew without looking it was Rick.  You try to gather yourself to calm down. Rick  had his own struggles  and you didn’t want to add to them.

"It ok .. " Rich said softly as he rubbed your back . " We will get him back " he said this caused you to cry even more.

 " I'm  so stupid to make the mistake of falling in love with my best friend "  You said though your tears.  " Now it too late  "  you said " I never told him "  you wished the tears would stop .

   Rick just held you until you were clinging onto him exhausted  then he lead you into the house and help you settle on the couch.  He sat down beside you  pulling you into his arms.  You dropped your head on his chest.

 " You will get a chance to tell him " he spoke softly  . " It not stupid and it's not a mistake to fall in love with someone  " Rick said " we can all tell how you feel about him" he added.

 You lifted your head to look up at him.. "Really am I that obvious. " you asked  He chuckled " to everyone but him .. " he replied   " But I know  he has feelings for you too "  he added

" He just doesn't have enough confidence to speak up " Rick said .  "But when we get him back  you can change that " he said  You sigh .. " I hope  " you replied

 Rick held you tighter  .."Hope is all we have these days " he said softly.

   Rick was right  Hope was all you had so you were going to keep hanging on that you would see Daryl again . You worked hard every day so  when you finally did  laid down you would be to tired to dream.

   Each day you kept telling yourself that it was one day closer to seeing him again.  Until that day that Rick took a small group to the hilltop  to start talk of  fighting back against Negan.

   You stayed behind to watch Judith  but  you  were feeling anxious  unable to sit still .  The sun was just setting  and you were outside letting  Judith play on blanket  with some toys.

You sat on the bottom step  just watching her play and letting your mind wander.  You were startled  out  of your thoughts by the sounds of the  gates opening up .  You stood up so you could get a better view.

   The group  was back from hilltop  with Rick leading the way. Your gaze shifted  to who was next to him and you froze  your heart in your throat.

   Your gaze connected with his and  you saw that half smile  that you had missed so much . That was all it took for you take off running towards him.

   His arms were opening for you when you crashed into him causing him to take a couple steps back to steady himself. You buried your face into  his neck and cried   not sure if you were dreaming again  . You hope and prayed this was for real. You needed this to be real.

   "Seems like someone missed me  maybe just a little  " he said softly still holding you close. " You have no idea  " you replied finally leaning back to get a better look at him.

 He was thinner  and he looked exhausted  but at least  he was here with you.. "Daryl  I .."  You tried to come up with the words .. They were all bubbling up inside you to come out.

   "We can talk later .." he said  "when we are alone  " he added.   You nodded and step back but he  kept your hand in his  as the two of you walked back to the house together.

 It was much later  after dinner  that you found yourself  stretched  out  on your bed on your side  watching Daryl as he slept peacefully  next to you.   He had come to your room after dinner  not saying much  but not needing  to say anything.

   You sat down on the bed and motioned for him to come join you . It  only took him about 5 minutes to fall asleep.  You suspect  that  this was the first decent sleep had  in awhile.

You were content to just lay there and watch him sleep content to watch his chest move up and down slowly  . Proof that he was still alive and he was here with you.

 You don’t know how long you laid there watching him sleep but suddenly he tense up and jerked   his eyes shooting open  .  You scooted closer  placing a hand on his chest.  

 His gaze met yours.. "Bad dream ?" you asked  softly " Yeah.." he replied shifting  and rolling  on his side then suddenly he was reaching for you and pulling you into his chest.

It was his turn to bury his face in your neck to take deep breaths  as he held you close. You slowly rub circles into his back trying to provide the comfort he was needing .

"Your what kept me going " he said softly " You're what kept me alive  " he lifted his head to look at you.  Your heart in your throat as you saw the emotions  in his eyes.  You  hope he could see the same  in your own eyes.

 " I hope and I prayed every day  " you told him blinking back tears " I hope that I would see you again and tell you what I should have told you awhile ago " you said hoping that you could get this all out

 "At some point  along the way I have realized that I love you . " you said  making yourself keep eye contact with him.

" I kept telling myself that it wasn’t love .. What I felt for you because you were my best friend   and that was what was important. " you said  " But  when I watch Negan take you away to what  could be your death. " it scare me "  you took a deep breath pushing back the tears  .

" It scared me  because at the moment I want  to tell you  how I felt so in case….."  You choked on the tears  that lodge in your throat.  You squeezed  your eyes shut and you felt  him wipe at  the tears that were falling now  .

Then you felt his lips on yours it took whatever air that was in your body completely away  . Without thinking  you leaned forward into the kiss . You opened up  and he took that  as a sign  to deepen the kiss.

You both groan into the kiss  his whole body shifted  and pressed into yours.  After what seem like forever  he finally pulled back . " You know I am not  good with words " he said

" But  you should know that  your it for me "  he said  " Have been since that day I saved you. "  You stop him from saying  anything else by kissing him again .

 You pulled away blinking back tears  " ok that's enough crying over me today ok " he said  and you chuckled .."Alright " you said and the two of you quickly settled down  . He rolled over onto his back and pulled  you along with him.

You laid your head on his chest letting the sound of his heart beat comfort you and lull you into sleep.  Your last thought  was that you had wished  had realized  sooner the only place you truly felt  at home  was here with him.

Waiting for you

Rick x Reader  -  You wait behind as Rick and the rest of the group go on the attack  of Negan . Rick promised you before he left he would return  and so you waited. AN/ : this is based on the season 8 premier  . But there is not a lot of spoilers so incase  you haven't seen it yet.    

You hated waiting  you hated being left behind when all  your friends and family  were going to be out  there fighting for their lives and everyone's freedom.

   But with so many people heading off to Negan's compound  someone needed to stay behind and protect those  who couldn’t fight . That what Rick told you as he kissed you softly  before climbing  into the truck and driving off

 The plan was a good one  you knew that but  there was still many things that could go wrong especially with Negan involved. That made you nervous but you kept it hidden from the others  .

 You climbed up the watch tower for your shift  . Michonne was waiting gun in hand .  " You should go home and rest  " you said  She still wasn’t up to a 100 %  from that last battled with Negan's group.

 " I am good " she replied  as she handed you the gun " I would go crazy if I stayed in bed "  you nodded  understanding that.  You sigh..  "When do you think they will be back " you asked

" When they do what needs to be done is my guess  "Michonne replied   You closed your eyes and prayed that it would be done without losing any more family.

 "Do you want me to stay with you " Michonne asked  You shook your head " No it ok  you go on " you told her " Go to bed and get some rest" you added and she smiled and  slid down the ladder.

 Now alone  you turned to stare out into the woods that were surrounding the community . The sun was getting ready to set  .  You let your mind wander and you prayed for the first time since the world ended  .

   It was well into night when  you saw the first of the headlights  heading towards you. You stood  up tensing up  holding your gun  tight ready for anything.

   The 7 or  8 cars came to a stop and you waited for the signal to let  you know it was safe.  The three short flashes of the headlights  of the lead car  had you letting out a huge breath that you hadn't been aware you were  holding.

 You sent a signal below so the gates would open up .  You watched as the  line of cars drove thought .  People were already coming out of there house  standing around to greet everyone.

You didn’t have to look for Rick  you found him the second he climbed out of the car .You saw him search the crowd of people before turning and looking up at you .

 You smiled as your gaze connected with his. By the time you were down off the ladder  Rick was speaking to the group.

 "  we did what  we needed to " he was saying .. "The saviors  had to flee or die by walkers  "  he said . You stood back listening to him just glad to have him back safe.   " and Negan  ?" Someone asked

Everyone turned their eyes to Rick.. He sigh "  he was cornered by walker's last time I saw him   " but I am not going to put my faith in that " Rick said

" His group has scattered and his compound has been destroyed so if he alive .. Then well he in trouble "  he replied  "  I will take a group out in a few days to check myself  .

" But for now  we should all remain on high alert  " when we started this we  knew it wouldn’t be easy "  but we took the  first step today  if somehow  Negan did make it  then he knows we mean business  "

 With Rick finish with his speech  everyone began to break up  You slowly made your way up to him  where he was talking to Daryl  and carol .

 You wrapped your arms around his middle from behind. He instantly  relaxed into you.  He turned in your arms and suddenly you were being kissed .

 Unfortunately   because of  all the people still around  the kiss was short lived and he pulled back  " Told you I come back " he said .  You blinked tears out of your face.. "there was never a doubt  " you replied

   You leaned up and gave him a quick kiss." you finish  up here and meet me in the bedroom when you're done " you said softly  so he could only hear.

 He grinned " Sounds like a plan  "he replied letting you go after one more kiss.  There was a smile on your face the whole walk back to the house

   After  checking  that Judith was settled for the night   you  slip into the shower  to wash off the heat of the night.  When you walked out into the bedroom  with a towel around you  brushing out your hair   Rick was just walking through the door.

 He already have half of his shirt unbutton when he stop and his eyes shot yours  . You saw the hungry and the want  grow in his  expression .  You grinned as you put the brush to the side.

" hey the shower is free " you told him as you walked towards the bed slowly releasing the towel and letting it dropped to the ground as you reached for your PJ's  .

 But you didn’t even have a chance to  pick them up  before you were  being spun around  and pulled into Rick arm's . He had removed his shirt so you were met with warm skin as your hands landed on his shoulders

But before you could really appreciated the muscles that were moving underneath your hands . His mouth was on yours in a demanding kiss.  You both groan at the contact as you were pressed up against  him

 His hands slid down your back grabbing your hips to pull you even closer.. Your own hands slid down his front  to start undoing  his belt and his pants.  Once undone you slid your hands down the front .

You watched in amazement as this strong man this leader  fell apart at your touch. As you continued to stroke him he groaned and his grip  on your hips tighten.

Suddenly  he had you on the bed  on your back. You stared up at him  his breathing was  heavy and fast . His eyes dark with emotions  . You watched as  he finish removing his pants before was crawling  onto of you .

 You wrapped your legs around his waist as you lifted your head to  meet his lips with yours.  There were no words to be said . Everything that was needed  to be said was being said though his touches his kisses.

   He held you close as the both of you calm down afterwards whispering soft things into your ear. A warm hand  rubbing  up and down your back in a relaxing movement.

It had you relax and sleepy in no time. You were content to just lay there drifting  as his breathing became slower and heavier and his hand started to slow down until it came to a stop.

He was humming real low  a sign that he was about asleep . Suddenly you had the urge to reassure yourself he was ok. They would be ok.   It was funny because he was holding  you close and you could hear his heart beating slowly underneath your ear .

 But that still didn’t stop you from speaking up softly.. " Rick?"  he stir a little .'umm yeah " his reply was filled with sleep . " what we are doing is the right thing?" you asked

" I mean  we will be ok ?"  you contiuned  He sigh and  you lifted your head to look  up at him.

" I can't really promise you that  we will all come out of this ok "  he said softly .. " But I know what we are doing is right " he added. He reached up and push some hair out of your face..

You smiled  and nodded leaning forward to kiss him softly before settling back down head on his chest. It didn’t take more than 2 minutes before he was asleep . Deep breathes turning into quite snoring .

   You felt more at peace in that moment than you had  since the  night you found yourself on your knees in front of a madman and his bat.

   This battle this war was going to be hard. More and likely it was going to end bloody on both sides  . But for the first time  in a long time  you had hope .
