Just got back from the most amazing week in Utah! I loved it out there. Spent so much time hiking, climbing, canyoneering, etc. I can’t wait until I can go back!

Wow it’s been a long time since I posted. Had a small setback in January when I tore my bicep & had a mild case of rhabdo. Since then I’ve been getting back into lifting and now that the weather is nice, I’ve started running again too.
It was pretty warm out today for January so I decided to go for a run instead of just working out in my tiny apartment. It was nice to get some fresh air. I also did my PT exercises. I’ve been slacking on those and my hip started bothering me again so I need to be better about keeping up with them.
Another late night workout. Today I focused on core and upper body. I’ve been really liking the Nike training club app for workouts since I can set different filters to get exactly what I’m looking for.
Today was a long day and I really didn’t want to work out but I managed to squeeze in a late night HIIT workout in my room. I always feels better when I finish a workout, no matter how tired I was while doing it.
These pics and the workout stats are from yesterday. It was my first class at OTF in almost a year and I definitely felt so out of shape. My all out pace on the treads was less than my old base pace lol. I didn’t pull anywhere near the watts I used to when I was on the rower. I was way too sore today to work out, so I’m hoping to get to OTF either tomorrow or Friday. I want to rejoin as a member in January and hopefully get into shape again and get my old body back. I love my blog because it’s such a great way to keep track of progress, but I can’t say it isn’t a little disheartening to see how fit I was this time last year.
I’ve been slacking on workouts the last few months. I froze my pilates membership in October when I was going through physical therapy. I’m finally finished with PT and now that my first semester of grad school is over, I want to make my health and fitness a priority. I just went on a run with a mask on for the first time and it was easier than I thought it would be. I’ve done other workouts with a mask, but never a run. Tomorrow morning I’m going to go to an orangetheory class, and it’ll be my first one in over a year. I’m excited but a little nervous about how out of shape I am and how the class will work with covid restrictions in place.
I took a few weeks off working out but I’m back to pilates! I’ve been modifying all my workouts because I’ve been having hip pain and found out I have a type of hip impingement that will need physical therapy at the least and surgery at the worst. I’m seeing a sports medicine specialist next week so hopefully I’ll get some more answers and can work towards being pain free.
30 min HIIT workout today, and got the news that my Pilates studio is opening on Friday! I’ll only be able to get in two classes before I go home to visit family for my birthday, but I’m excited to get back into going consistently after I return from my visit home.
30 minute HIIT workout this morning, and had my first meal out at a restaurant since quarantine started. My roommates and I walked to and from the restaurant, about 1.5 miles each way, for some extra movement today.
I was running for the past few weeks as my primary workout, but it’s hard on my joints and I don’t find it to be doing anything for my strength. I started incorporating a more HIIT and strength style workouts, which can be a little challenging without equipment. It is frustrating that quarantine was such a setback because I was seeing great progress in January/February before everything shut down. Scrolling through my old pics, I can literally see the loss of definition over the last few months. I’m hoping things start to open up again soon so I can go back to pilates and that in the meantime the change in my routine will get me back on track.
It started pouring in the middle of my 3 mile run, but it felt nice because it broke the humidity. Over the last few weeks I’ve been in the process of moving to a new apartment, and I’m finally settled in for the summer.
