You hum along to Ace of base as it plays while Totos footsteps patter down the stairs, he must have just woken up, and you know he hates waking up without his wife in bed next to him and so when hes finally in the kitchen grumbling away and watching you as you place the loaf into the oven at 120°C he knows exactly what you’ve made.

“Out of bed, Liebe (love)?” he murmurs, his accent thick with sleep as he finally wraps his arms around you from behind. He's not too happy that you can tell, you mutter an apology as he kisses your cheek, “how long to bake, Schatz (treasure)”

“About a day, Liebe (love)” you whisper back. The man smiles, smitten.

“I truly have the best wife don't I?” he says as if it's a question, “Liebste Frau (Dearest wife), I want to go back to bed, can we do that?” he asks, this time it's a real question.

You check the clock hung up on the kitchen wall as you set the timer for this time tomorrow morning, the full twenty-four hours of cooking time. You've never felt so lucky to have a separate oven from the stove.

It's only 6am.. you could sneak a few more hours of cuddling in bed before you have to start the day and so you let him lead you by the hand through your shared home in the German countryside, and up the carpeted stairs. Being the gentleman he is, he pushes open the bedroom door for you before he practically tackles you back into bed.

Toto lays practically ontop of you whispering something about you being the perfect wife as he wraps his arms around you tightly kissing at the skin of your collarbone he mutters a goodnight pulling at the blankets to cover you both.

Your sure he'll be happy when you have to get out of bed tomorrow though since it'll be for his pumpernickel bread.

It's sweet, he's sweet kissing you now, you can taste the mint of his toothpaste against your lips. he continues to ramble as he falls back down into the mattress closing his eyes as he lays his head on your shoulder murmuring a ‘good night love’ with a yawn. Yeah love at first sight, it isn't conventional but you hope it'll work out.
