Working as a cafe isn't all that interesting of a life. How were you to know you had caught the eyes of the strongest person around?

You were in an unfamiliar area, but certainly not a new situation. Missing the last train of the night was practically a bi-weekly occurrence. Walking off the platform you couldn’t help but feel a weight on your shoulder as if you had just put on a heavy book-laden backpack. Although to be fair, you were stressed out of your mind, stress often being carried in the shoulders as they say. Heaving a sigh you continue the trek back to your apartment. 

Allowing your mind to wander, not wanting to listen to music seeing as you should remain somewhat alert of your surroundings, you think about the mundane life you live. Biggest stressor of course being from work. Customers being the absolute rudest people on the planet. Trying to budget groceries but then forgetting your lunch forcing a run to the local convenience store. Another sigh as you feel your burdens lay yet another weight upon your shoulders. But it felt more literal. Of course that was just nonsense, ah, you forgot about your purse. Having your water bottle must be making it feel at least a smidge more hefty than normal. It was practically full, not surprising as you practically function dehydrated in your natural state. 

Looking above the sky felt darker than usual, perhaps a tad darker than overcast given the typical city light illumination. Eyelids growing heavy and yawning you note it’s not too far till home at this point. Every step getting sluggish you choose to take a breather on a nearby bench. A brief pause should be fine, yet you can’t help but feel this is a bad idea. Before your eyes flutter closed, you make out a tall being in the distance followed by a glowing blue light.

Bzzt…bzzzt.. bzzt. Rolling over you slap the screen on your phone causing the cursed alarm to stop its wailing. Time for another shift at the cafe. Putting yourself together you head out. Today feels like it’s going to be a good day, light on your feet and ready to go. It was the opening shift today so you were in charge of loading the front baked good display, getting the coffee set to brew, basic barista 101. Going to the front of the store you place the sandwich board out, and flip the door sign to read open. Making your way to behind the counter you hear the tell tale jingling of the door chimes.

“Hello and welcome! Just letting you know it will be about five minutes on the coffee. Making it nice and fresh for you.” Looking up, the man was very tall but held himself with a relaxed slouch. He dressed in what you assumed is designer, yet what you seemed to be drawn into was his eyes. A mesmerizing blue of several shades.

“Nah none of that for me. Although I’ll definitely have to go for the glazed donut you got there. Oh! Also the chocolate chip muffin, just looks so good.” The excitement in his voice reminiscent of a kid getting to choose their own sweets.

“Sure thing sir would you like them for here or to go?”

“I’d love to stay and chat with you sweets, but unfortunately work calls.” Odd nickname aside you gather the pastries and continue checking out the man. Before leaving you see him wink as he turns around and walks through the door. Slightly creepy interaction aside, your day was rather normal. You had the rude customer every now and again but nothing to write home about. It was getting towards the middle of the day and your coworker had just arrived to aleve you of your shift for the day. Having commended you on working closer just the night before. Oh yeah, no wonder you were so tired last night. Practically a miracle you woke up in the morning. Thinking back on it, you’re not sure how you made it back, but you hardly remember every walk home as it is the same one and so hard to differentiate one late walk from another.

Upon arriving at your home you noticed something a bit off. Nothing seemed out of place, it just didn’t feel right. The vibes were off so to speak. You couldn’t help but feel a tinge of fear seeing the dining room counter. 

“Well that would explain the lack of thanks! I knew you would have been ecstatic to see me after last night but was pretty shocked from the lack of a hero’s welcome.” Jumping your purse and phone clattered to the ground. Spinning around in the door frame to your bedroom you saw the white-haired stranger from early this morning.

“Who the hell are you and get out of my house!” You saw him wave finger guns at you and the feeling of dread from your kitchen dissipated. However, it was quickly replaced with the panic of a stranger inside your house. Dipping behind the counters you grabbed a steak knife from out the drawer, keeping it hidden below just as a backup.

“Ah I do suppose I owe you that, that way you know who to thank! The name’s Gojo sweetheart. My darling y/n~” He says, pushing down the glasses to glance over the top. You notice your phone is still on the floor and you slowly walk towards it.

“Ok well Gojo, I don’t know why you are in my house and what you mean by thanking you, but you need to leave now or I’m going to call the police.” As you bend down to pick up the phone he practically teleports in behind you. Startled, you swing around with knife in hand and aim for somewhere in his torso. While you didn’t expect him to move so quickly. You were dumbfounded by what happened next. At practically slow motion speeds you watch the knife crumple as if it had been thrust into a brick wall. 

“Pretty ballsy move there sweetheart.” His gaze towards you turned dark, he swiftly kicked the phone out of reach, knocking the twisted knife from your hand and pulled you up by the arm like a parent would do with a tantrum throwing child. “But please, you don’t even know the strength I have.” Gojo gently touched the space between your eyes, you could feel yourself growing slack in his arms. Eyes fluttering closed before the gentle sensation of a kiss brushed the same spot.
