Lately I’ve just wanted to make art for the fic I’m writing, and spend time world building in my notes. Which has lead to not posting on Ao3 yet, but here’s a picture of the dragon I created for the fic.

Please note that for this one I did start with a base image of a paint by numbers kit dragon so I can’t take full credit for this image.

Well, I only managed to write three pages of chapter three today, so we’ve still got a way to go before I’m ready to publish. Instead of a text teaser this time, how about my drawing of how I picture Hermione looking when she first arrives in Navarre.

I’m working on chapter three and have started a scene with a meeting of the empyrean, but I’m curious what y’all think would happen? I think the hatchlings would be present on the outskirts, but do you think all of the dragons come or only the elders?

So the executive dysfynction has been dysfunctioning and I haven’t been able to focus and write chapter three (which I want to have done before I start uploading The Ouroboros and the Albatross on Ao3. So instead here is the cover image I have been able to work on instead.

I’ve decided that I’ll start each chapter with an epigraph like in the books. So as a teaser, here is the first epigraph I will have in the story:

The light creeping over the waves, inching its way from the horizon to me, heralds the end of another sleepless night. Did the top rune that the squad altered but didn’t address make it so any venin can channel within the wards? Because how did that one cadet channel in signet sparring?

We’re all of the wards they put there somehow in conflict with the other wards? That makes no sense, especially since Xaden was involved and didn’t want to channel, but like… how did she do it??

Realization during my reread that I somehow missed the first time… three elders are dead. Who do we think they are? Do we know those dragons already or not? Were they killed because they wouldn’t agree to allow the eggs to be taken? Who were their riders (if they had them)?

Thoughts on Papa Sorrengail below the cut

So through Asher Daxton and Asher Sorrengail writing samples we discover a couple interesting things. One for sure: he took Lilth’s last name and I love that. One not so certain: based on the timeline he wrote the books (and how long writing a book would take) it seems like he was going to the isles when he was a cadet. But even if he went after graduating this is crazy? Is he the only scribe traveling to the isles?

He can’t be the only Navarrian because the merchant has had other fire bringers seeking Asher’s book… but only scribe, maybe?

Also I think Lilith is one (if not the only) fire bringer that previously tried to request his books from the merchant. Which would either mean he told her where they were, or Lilith set the password and complex lock on Asher’s research after she read it.

We finally have the stats to calculate the speed of dragon flight. Or the average of it anyway. When Violet is figuring out Garrick’s arrival she first says that the flight to them is eight hours. She later says it’s 1000 miles.

Dragons, on average, can fly 125 mph (201 kph). That’s faster than I thought. I feel like they would need more than goggles for that.

Also this means that Aretia is 2250 miles (3621 km) from Basgiath and our favorite couple was flying that every weekend!

My theory: they say a dragon bonding in the direct familia line leads to a powerful signet, second signet, or going mad? I think ALL riders bonded in the direct familiar line get a type of intinsic signet but they are killed so we accept that they ‘went mad’

Is it only leadership cadets that go into the valley during threshing? Or like hypothetically could Ridoc have been out there messing with people if he hadn’t been doing something else?
