I will never be able to comprehend letting people and their mannerisms go. I still make tea the way a friend that I no longer share the spark with, taught me. I still listen to Frank Ocean and think of the boy who was once a very important aspect of my life. Every time I am in the drink section in the store, I make sure to get the same drink my best friend used to buy for me everyday of eleventh grade. Each time I lose motivation for academics, I remember an online friend who made me believe I could do just about anything. As I watch my show, I think of the guy who recommended it, pondering over the conversation I missed out on due to my excellent timing. My eyes find my siblings, slurping instant noodles and my mind clicks back to a friend that consumed them on a daily basis. Strolling thought the bookstore, I see Dostoyevsky and I think of the girl who let me borrow her copy of, "The notes from the underground", all because i displayed an interest in it. Perhaps, we are the people we love. Perhaps we are an amalgamation of all that we love. Either ways, what we once associate with someone is more than bound to be associated with them forever. I could travel to the end of the world but as soon as I hear a misfits song, I will think of July and adolescence and the most alluring of things. Perhaps we never really let go and carry the burden of once knowing someone to the end of our days. Perhaps that is the way.

“Will you always come home with me and tell me about your day? Tell me about the guy at work who talked too much, the stain you got on your shirt at lunch. Tell me about a funny thought you had when you were walking up and forgotten about. Tell me how crazy everyone is and we can laugh about it. Even if you get home late and im already asleep, just whisper in my ear one little thought you had today, ‘cause i love the way you look at the world. I’m so happy i get to be next to you and look at the world through your eyes.“
