WAIT....people are getting annoyed at other people liking Gale just because he is popular?
First Astarion and now Gale?
It's so bonkers to me how people think Gale has always been a popular character and getting annoyed at people liking him
Oh honey you weren't there in early access when people would call him boring, somehow abusive to Mystra, and a secretly evil mage who people predicted would betray Tav for no good reason
People HATED him. Heck, they even hated him for how difficult he was to romance in early access, which is ironic considering people hated him for the exact opposite of being too easy to romance on launch
I hate to say it but a lot of the reason Gale gained any popularity at all after the long string of hatred toward him is because of bloodweave
What's your headcanon on Elminster's involvement in the whole Gale/Mystra debacle? Innocent, Guilty?
Thank you friend for this question! Very interesting.
I am indebted to @galedekarios's very detailed metas about Elminster's involvement in Gale's life at the behest of Mystra (such as this one) and how Mystra treats her Chosens including Elminster.
My feeling is that Elminster was definitely involved in the sense that Mystra sent him to seek Gale out when he was just eight years old. Mystra had singled Gale out because of his exceptional nature, sending Elminster not just to mentor him but to also keep him in check so that Gale would not become a threat to her power. But I don't think it's as simple as guilty/innocent, because Elminster was also a Chosen of Mystra and groomed by her. I'll explain this more below.
My HC is that Gale did not have a father figure in his life, probably from a young age. Elminster probably took on this role to an extent, and this would have made his influence even greater on young Gale. But I still think there is a genuine love and respect between them. You can feel their closeness and affection from the way that Gale and Elminster speak to each other. Elminster uses terms of endearment ("my boy"), they bicker with each other with familiarity, there is a sense that he cares and knows Gale well (and vice versa). When Elminister delivers Mystra's charge for Gale to kill himself, Gale says he knows that Elminster does not want to do this; it is Mystra's command, not Elminster's. Elminster also delivers his amazing poem ("be a moon unto yourself", "even the waves of fate can break upon the shores of will") as a roundabout way of telling Gale to try and find a way around Mystra's charge, though he cannot say so directly. He also believes in Gale, and that he can find a way. Later on though, when Elminster finds you after you find the Annals of Karsus, he does appear cross that Gale disobeyed Mystra. Which brings me onto the second point...
Elminster himself was groomed by Mystra in much the same way that Gale was. Mystra controls her Chosen with promises of love and approval, 'brainwashing' them into believing that they must act in line with her will. This is her pattern with her Chosen (as explained here). Elminster has spent his very long life serving her, loving her and being controlled by her. Even his clear affection for Gale couldn't stand up to years of groomed behaviour and the whole centre around which his life has been built. That explains why what he says doesn't always line up with what he believes/does in the game, and I can imagine that being the case when Gale was growing up, too.
So for me, Elminster was involved, but he was a conflicted/unwilling accomplice if that makes sense. In my head, once Gale is free of the orb and no longer Mystra's Chosen, Elminster remains in Gale's life as a close friend / almost family member. Their love and respect endures.
Astarion's meals have never felt like victims before. Wild animals can sense his predatory nature, they thrash and kick and try just as hard to kill him as he tries to kill them back. He wonders if Gale will wake to the sensation of fangs in his neck, if he will kick and scream like the animals do.
The only bite Astarion has ever experienced is the one he got from Cazador, himself a gasping, willing victim as he bled out equally from the knife wounds in his organs and the puncture wounds in his throat.

I really like the idea of Gale conjuring a place for them to himself and Gogash to honeymoon.
Hey, I like your Gale x MLM daily headcannon idea. I hope you don't mind me providing you with a prompt. This is the first time I have done so 😊
I have always imagined that when you get back to Waterdeep, Gale proposes to you again, properly this time.
How do you think Gale would propose to his husband?
And do you have any headcanons about their wedding day and honeymoon?
I'm going to mostly answer this with my headcanons about my self insert Tav and my other one Gogash since it's kind of tricky for me to think of generic mlm headcanons that would apply to other male Tav's/Durge's in this.
My self insert and Gale have a very traditional Waterdeep wedding, I'd imagine that my self insert wears something that is more like a suit but with a very nice sash and of course with lavender whereas Gale wears something a little similar but more like a robe. It's mostly his family and our companions of course and as for a honeymoon I'd like to think that Gale actually conjures up some place for them to go and for Gale to have his new husband all to himself for a few days ; )
Now while this wasn't technically possible to select as a background for a Tav in the game I decided to headcanon that my half orc monk Gogash was actually raised at the House of the Two Hands monastery in Waterdeep (but since he spent most of his time there he didn't get a chance to meet Gale, only heard of him in passing etc). Gogash and Gale don't end up settling in Waterdeep after they marry but they do choose to visit and get married there at the House of Two Hands in the presence of Gogash's mentors and friends along with Gale's family. Afterwards they decide to become adventurers because Gogash wants to make pilgrimage and also to rebuild Rosymorn so not much of a honeymoon besides the adventures they begin
Heya Gale fandom can we please agree to stop saying "Gale girlies" and say the more inclusive Galemancers or Galefuckers Because as an NB person even though "girlies" sometimes fits me i know there are so much so so much galemancers that "girlies" does not fit for a multitude of reasons and i hate to see almost half the fandom excluded by this term so please lets agree on a more inclusive term yes?
