Throwing back to many seasons ago, when this little fluff nugget first joined our family. I remember this was our first trip out with both dogs to a nearby lake during the off-season. We closed out 2019 on a high note by meeting up with Marcel (@lecorgi) during his US travels! It was really great to see Mona and Marcel playing together (leashes were required as this was not a dog park). Can confirm that he’s as much of a flirt in person! Also as an aside, people often ask us whether Mona is a Fluffy. “Fluffy” in this instance is an official term per the breed standard that describes a corgi coat ‘fault’ (their words, not mine) that describes “a coat of extreme length with exaggerated feathering on ears, chest, legs and feet, underpants and hindquarters.” This video provides a great comparison of a GORGEOUS fluffy (Marcel) versus Mona and Drewbert. During our first visit to see Mona’s litter, we didn’t know which puppy was going to be matched with us yet. We met three girls but it was important for our breeder to pick a puppy whose temperament suits our lifestyle and goals. She told us not to get too attached to any puppy in particular during this first visit. Makes sense, right? Well. Five seconds later, I yeeted logic right out the window and became cuddle buddies with this one tiny fur ball. I’m pretty sure I was one bad decision away from stuffing her down my coat and running out the door. After our visit, the corgdad joked and said he barely got to pet that one because I hogged her the whole time. Guess what?
