Jörmungandr, Mixed Media, 2025

For those who might not know, in Norse mythology, Jörmungandr is the world serpent that circles the realm of Midgard, ie the Earth. The snake is the middle child of Loki and Angrboða, who was a jotunn, but Odin took all three of the kids and cast them out of Asgard. It is said that in the endless circling through the ocean, the serpent is always holding its tail in an ouroboros, and that when it releases its tail, it will be the final sign that Ragnarök is upon us and Thor and Jörmungandr will have a fight to the death in order to decide the fate of men.

Here is also a GIF of the painting process, which little by little took probably about 3 days total, spread over 2 weeks. :)
