Eddie talking to the 118 at a small gathering about his most recent PT session waxing poetic about it with stars in his eyes.
Buck is walking out the back doors after going inside for another beer as Eddie is describing how his PT was assisting him. He only hears bits and pieces that culminate in the final sentence being uttered as he hits the top of the stairs.
“Yeah, it brings a lot of relief, but he’s basically cradling me to his chest the whole time. At least his cologne smells good.”
Buck asks what kind of operation they’re running over there and if it’s appropriate to which someone responds that it doesn’t seem like Eddie is complaining. And Eddie is most certainly not. All of this made worse by the fact that Buck can see the way he’s gone a bit pink in the cheeks, the color spreading outward until he’s delicately flushed all over down to his neckline.
They tease Eddie again about this “crush” and calls his PT ‘Eddie’s guy’ which Buck still thinks is ridiculous and something Eddie has to be over by now. It was certainly just the newness of figuring out you’re maybe attracted to someone. Buck hasn’t seen the guy but it’s not like he’d good enough for Eddie. Definitely not attractive enough for Eddie because well look at Eddie.
“You make it sound like they’re dating,” Buck will grumble it out in annoyance.
Someone responds that it’s not like Eddie isn’t trying to do that. Another yells out a down boy that Buck only responds to with a roll of his eyes. And Buck who hasn’t looked away from Eddie sees how he’s making a face at whoever said that like they playfully poke fun at him about this regularly.
It’s nothing according to Eddie, but he doesn’t really look at Buck when he says it. It’s not like Buck doesn’t know that Eddie is trying to date his PT but the fact he’s discussed it with other people makes something twinge in his chest. Buck daydreams about filling out the form on that complaint webpage with HE SUCKS typed out over and over and over again.
Eddie’s allowed to do this. Buck doesn’t really know why it’s this random fucking guy that’s seemed to have Eddie all twisted up in knots and thats a whole thought. Thank fuck this guy isn’t a yoga teacher Buck can barely stomach the thought of Eddie’s body soft and pliant and delicate twisting and bending and stretching on the matted floor for the eyes of his physical therapist. But Eddie’s allowed to like anyone he wants despite how alarms keep blaring in Buck’s head about how this is wrong, wrong, wrong.
Buck is so jealous and so in denial about it that it makes him look stupid.
Thoughts of Eddie having to go through weeks of physical therapy which he initially grumbles about. He tends to hate admitting to needing any help, but his new physical therapist is kind and really funny. Eddie begins leaving the sessions with less complaints, adopts a more positive outlook. He can’t stop talking about the guy and someone at the station jokes they think he’s got a crush.
Eddie’s a bit doubtful about the whole thing. He likes the guys but does he like the guy. The thought leaves him feeling frazzled so he talks about it to the one person that he trusts most, Buck, to help him figure it out. Buck does help, Eddie leaves the conversation with some answers and a lot more questions. He thinks this is a harmless thing.
Eddie tries to boil it down to it maybe being more admiration than an actual crush until he was a sex dream about the guy. It makes the next session unbearably awkward and Eddie can’t even look him in the eye. He groans about the whole ordeal to Buck who sits beside him murmuring ‘mhm’ and ‘ahh’ instead of offering any real thoughts at all. Eddie Diaz has never dreamt about a man before, not in that way.
Besides, the Buck dreams are more domestic, nonsexual in nature so they don’t count. He starts using how he feels about Buck as point of reference for how you feel about a friend vs a crush. There’s nothing to examine about the different kind of knots in his stomach when he has Buck help him through his PT homework because he can’t seem to get a stretch just right without some help. Buck’s hands on him don’t get him hot and bothered they just feel right. Eddie’s too busy gagging for it from his therapist, he thinks his Buck feelings are completely normal.
Eddie having his sexuality realization over his physical therapist. He flirts with him a little, likes the feeling of being flirted back with. It’s fun and it’s probably not going to go anywhere. At this point, Eddie is taking the scenic view to figuring out his feelings for Buck. They’re so settled in him that he thinks this is how best friendism feels in your soul.
Then, a coffee date after their last session leads to him inevitably fucking his PT. He can’t stop thinking of the weight of a man on top of him, causing him to have wandering thoughts about how Buck’s mass would feel on him. He writes it off as just being horny, calls up the guy to scratch the itch. The thoughts about Buck only get worse, the knowledge Buck has had sex with men exacerbating the issue.
Eddie feeling guilty for having those thoughts about Buck and overcorrects by asking his PT out properly. They go to dinner and it’s fine, it’s fun. They go on more dates but Eddie can’t stop thinking about Buck. They got to a fancy dinner, Eddie thinks about how much better he likes dinner at home.
Buck unknowingly haunting Eddie’s own relationship with a man back.

your nails are SO fab not to be rude but how much does that sort of nail art cost? you are single handedly making me consider getting acrylics for the first time
Hi, thank you so much!
I think it would depend on who your nail technician is because designs can vary from a salon to a privately owned studio. For my nails, I paid $100 for the set itself and then around $125 total with tip!
Oh, I totally encourage getting a nail set, but it may also turn into a trap. My only disclaimer is these are not acrylics just my nail with gel builder on top!
