this is recall, my response for Response Project XXVI - 1569 Chase Ave #4 (the final Chase Public event hosted at the corner of Chase and Hamilton. The response considered the room as the subject/object.

My interpretation of "Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name," line five of The New Colossus sonnet written by Emma Lazurus as a part of The New Colossus, a performative sonnet experience, a collaborative project of Chase Public, The Mercantile Library and the CAC.

this is my first actually reading for this page. it was inspired by Saul Williams performance at the Woodward Theater on April 28, 2016, as a part of the CAC’s Black Box Performance Series.   post performance, Saul signed page 106 in my personal copy of , said the shotgun to the head, which reads, “God has hair on her pussy and waits burning with desire for you.” i stole the book from a roommate. i brought the silver Sharpie. i have no relationship with any god, but i think i’ve experienced kisses just as unimaginable and indefinably sought after as deities.

i'm not actually reading anything here. 

however, i did make this (a few months ago). it was inspired by unfortunate local sexual harassment, assaults and restrictive legislation targeted against women. i’m not necessarily an activist, i am never sure how to make a true difference, but i am bothered by injustice and inequality enough to do something. so, i reacted through this little mashup.
