I am simultaneously deliriously in love with the ending of Loki season 2 and absolutely loathe it
On one hand…Shakespearean tragedy at its finest, essentially circling back to Loki’s original Thor 2011 character arc by reversing it, and Loki has literally ascended to godhood. In the end, Loki’s ultimate selfless sacrifice was to sit upon the highest throne in the multiverse, and that to me is tragically ironically beautiful
On the other hand…Loki being alone makes me want to burn Marvel studios to the ground and do other unspeakable things
Best and worst ending of all time f u Eric Martin

update: I watched Loki season 2 and now I feel like I have had my heart ripped out 🙂
hi, I watched every piece of MCU content through to the end of 2021 and then had my faith in the franchise completely shattered by Multiverse of Madness.
I really enjoyed Wakanda Forever and Guardians Vol. 3.
I have been enticed back in by Agatha All Along and have loved it…
is there anything else that I might have missed that’s worth watching?? I miss this fandom and I want to be excited about it again.

the rage of princess shuri
very few character arcs have been as substantive and transformative as the arc given to shuri in wakanda forever. and what makes it so powerful is her undeniable rage.
shuri angry. at herself, at the ancestors, at the world. and there’s so much range in her anger. it’s cold and dismissive to her mother’s faith in the spiritual. it’s painful and untethering to herself and her beliefs. it’s hot and all consuming towards namor and the harm he causes.
and then with how mythical and fairytale-esque wakanda forever is in general. shuri plays with the princess archetype and instead almost becomes a vengeful goddess. eternal war was one death away. it just happens that the person she longed to kill was her mirror image.
a black heroine having the space to transform, rebirth by fire and fury, was an experience. i don’t really know how to put it into words.
“Is my mother’s life not worth eternal war?”
that might be one of the most heartbreaking, and relatable lines in the mcu. grief and anger crystallised into one question.

Among Wakanda Forever's many MANY achievements is its superb indictment of white feminism. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss' character is the classic superficially "empowered" woman in a high-level corporate job who does nothing to empower any other woman--who in fact only seeks to infiltrate and sustain the same colonial patriarchy that oppresses most of the world for her own benefit. Contrast this with the true feminism of Wakanda and Talokan, where women are not only on equal footing with men, but play an active role in creating and maintaining societies that would have no room for such backwards notions as misogyny in the first place. Wakanda Forever is a masterpiece.

If the DnD movie does not feature outrageously cheesy dialogue that hamfistedly inserts terms such as “charisma” “sleight-of-hand”, “perception”, “insight”, “dexterity”, etc etc then I do not want it.

I just think the narrative of siblings pitted against each other as children by an extremely abusive parent beginning to grow up and realize that their “bitterest enemy” is the only person in the world who understands the shit they went through and the guilt and grief they still carry in their hearts for the childhood they both lost….is such a compelling story…
