A book I saw at the library about The Beatles. I was on my way walking out but I may skim it next time I am there.

I love how many songs that were scrapped from the White Album (or a couple other places) and recorded as demos got released as solo songs later on. I am sure there are more but off the top of my head:

John:

Originally called “On the Road to Marrakech”, later changed to Child of Nature, eventually got entirely new lyrics and became Jealous Guy (Imagine).

I feel like there’s gotta be at least one more John one (other than the singles he made with Yoko intended as Beatles songs) I am forgetting.

George:

Isn’t It a Pity (All Things Must Pass) was first pitched for Revolver, but the final version is very different.

All Things Must Pass (guess which album lol), pitched for Get Back/Let It Be, but then George decided to keep it to work on it more.

Circles (Gone Troppo) was originally for the White Album, as was Not Guilty (George Harrison 1979).

I know a song from Thirty Three and 1/3 was intended for a Beatles album but I’ll admit I don’t remember which or care to check.

Sourmilk Sea is a song that George never put on one of his own albums, but gave it to an artist he produced for to use on one of their songs. It was either Billy Preston or Jackie Lomax, forget which.

Paul:

Junk and Teddy Boy (McCartney I) both were demos from the White Album, as was Cosmically Conscious, which put as a hidden track on Off the Ground.

Long-Haired Lady (Ram) was played in the Get Back series, although I don’t know if it was actually completed or not.

My one nitpick with Revolver, which is my fav Beatles album and 2nd fav album ever, is that I wish they switched Yellow Submarine with Rain (as the b-side to Paperback Writer)

NOT slander of Yellow Submarine, I LOVE it. But, Rain fits the album better, and Yellow Submarine fits as a B-side to a single perfectly.

Fundraising/Translation and Editing Commissions

Hey all! Name's Marina, and I'm a trans girl from Chile trying to make her way in the world, with my autism diagnosis and Language and Literature degree on her back. And thus, although I've been applying to jobs, doing freelance stuff when I can, and looking for the dreaded "monetization options", I'm still looking to fundraise a bit. Because the expenses keep coming, and I have a big HRT related one coming next month. Anything helps, especially since dollars hold a bit more power than the Chilean peso.

What’s your favourite looks from each Beatle?

Hm. For Paul, it’s definitely his Get Back era look. For John, it’s the early 70s. Same for George. For Ringo, probably the late 70s.

What was the first Beatle song you listened to that you loved?

Let It Be. I won’t go into too much detail because it’s too personal, but I first found the song… only a day or two before one of the worst days in my life, where something very bad happened to me. It helped me a lot.

My least favorite would have to be Ringo but I do really love him too. I honestly do like a lot of Ringo’s solo music, but he’s so much less open about his life so there’s a lot less to latch onto.
