So you guys remember that little sketch I showed you guys months ago in celebration of me getting 250+ followers?

Guess what? Here’s the final output for it. I present to you my next big project called “Monkshood County”, which will be a fanfiction series that will test my skills in creative writing oh my god the pressure is on whew. The fanfic is inspired by CW’s Riverdale and FOX’s cancelled show Scream Queens. (#RIPScreamQueens)

The story follows Michele and Emil as they solve the mystery behind the strange disappearance and murder of Viktor Nikiforov, Monkshood High School’s prima ballerina and golden boy. As Mickey and Emil go further into the investigation, they unearth deeper and darker secrets hiding in their beloved town.

Also, a little background on everyone here in this poster:

Mickey and Sara Crispino are the captains of the Monkshood Foxes, the high school’s cheerleading squad. Mickey takes charge of the lifters and flyers, while Sara handles the dancers. Mickey is strict with the lifters and flyers, especially when the flyers talk to his sister. Sara’s more friendly and charismatic as a leader.

Emil Nekola is one of the star hockey players in school. Everybody loves him for his sweet and gentleman-like disposition. He harbors an obvious crush on his best friend and neighbor, Mickey. The other star hockey player is…

Jean-Jacques Leroy, the team captain. JJ and Emil are basically bros. JJ is confident and outgoing to the point that it inadvertently comes off as arrogance. JJ is also one of the more popular figures in school, about as popular as Viktor.

Otabek Altin is the school’s resident bad-boy with the bike. In the social scene, he prefers not to interact at all with anyone, making him one of the most mysterious figures in Monkshood High.

Mila Babicheva is the new girl in school fresh from Manhattan. Her father is known to be one of the richest and most skilled tycoons in New York and has been rumored to be a partner with the Nikiforov family for an upcoming business. Mila is basically high-society but kind-hearted, doing her best to be there for her friends and loved ones. Finally, there’s…

Yuuri Katsuki, the only son of the Katsuki family, who own the local katsudon restaurant. Yuuri was the vice-captain of the Monkshood High Dance Troupe, with Viktor, his boyfriend, as its captain.

Hello, everybody! I’m so sorry if I’ve been MIA for the longest time. I’ve now become a working boy and it’s become nearly impossible to maintain this Tumblr account. But I’m back to post my submission for the @emimikezine, curated by the hardworking @dettsu.  💙💜

Just to recap: for the zine, I’m creating an assassin-slash-music school AU artwork wherein Mickey is a assassin-slash-classical violinist who gets involved with his schoolmate Emil Nekola, a jazz saxophonist. Hey guys I just want to give a heads up. The book Adam by Ariel Schrag has been turned into a movie which has been named as one of the most exciting LGBTQ films of this year. I don’t want to spoil anybody’s fun but you should know before watching that the book is about a cis boy who pretends to be a trans man in order to persuade lesbians to sleep with him. 

This post has a plot summary that explains more about this concept and why it’s so harmful.

It is deeply deeply transphobic. It is lesbophobic as it features a corrective rape narrative (a lesbian does have sex with him and then decides she does love men after all). 

Here is a review of the book by a trans man. I have yet to find one by a lesbian but will edit this if I do. 

This book gives out incredibly harmful notions about trans men and lesbians that are used to hurt them in real life. It’s so entrenched in the narrative that I don’t see how the film can be any better. You can find more info in this twitter thread

I’d like to tell people to boycott it but I can’t tell you what to do. So instead I’m going to ask that you share this because it being named as an exciting new LGBTQ film is going to make LGBTQ teens want to see it. And they should know before hand how hurtful it could be. They should be able to arm themselves with that knowledge.

Apologies for the long absence! Admin has been busy with work and as it was, sometimes life is not kind. But we all have to go on moving forward!

As someone who’s worn both glasses and contact lenses, I can truly say that this Tumblr posts truly understands my pain.

people who don't wear glasses who are writing characters who wear glasses;

they get fogged up when we drink hot beverages. they get smudged for no reason. we will push them up using anything in our area (i.e shoulder, whatever is in my hand, scrunching my nose up so they get pushed up, etc.). they get knocked off our faces all. the. fucking. time. when we change clothes we either take them off or they fall off when we pull our shirts off. we have to clean them after being in the rain. we own multiple pairs of them, not just one lone pair for our whole lives. most people don’t wear them in the pool, but some have extra old pairs for the pool (like me). some people take them off during sex, that’s fine! but some people keep them on. they don’t get squished into your face when you kiss (most of the time. at least from what i’ve experienced and i’ve got some mf big glasses). if we look down and look back up while you talk/to peek up at something, we will just peek blindly over the top of them. we clean them on whatever item of clothing is closest. some of us have prescription sunglasses and some of us wear contacts when we need to wear sunglasses. please keep some of these in mind when you write characters with glasses cause y'all who have 20/20 vision keep telling me all characters sleep in their glasses and own the same singular pair from age 6-25 and they never clean them.

We have recently been made aware of the negative response to one of the prompt options for the EmiMike Zine. We acknowledge the parties’ concerns and have taken them into consideration as we prepare the zine.

We have decided to drop the word “mafia” from our descriptions, captions, and stories after this incident.

As the curator, I have encouraged all participants in the zine to read up on the matter in order to better educate ourselves, so we may be more sensitive to the issue and be able to make responsible choices in creating our art and stories.

We apologize for our oversight and hope everyone will still support and enjoy the book.

Recentemente abbiamo ricevuto un responso negativo ad uno dei prompt per la EmiMike Zine. Riconosciamo la preoccupazione delle persone che l'hanno sollevato e ne stiamo tenendo conto nella preparazione la zine.

Abbiamo quindi deciso di eliminare la parola “mafia” da tutte le descrizioni, didascalie e storie che fanno parte della zine.

Come curatrice ho incoraggiato tutti i partecipanti ad informarsi sull'argomento, in modo da essere più sensibili rispetto al problema e in modo da poter prendere delle decisioni responsabili nella creazione delle proprie illustrazioni e storie.

I heard that today is the birthday of our favorite Canadian golden boy, Jean-Jacques Leroy, so I decided to ransack through JJ’s things to find a photo to put up-- I mean, whip up a quick illustration of JJ with our other favorite golden boy (made of pure sunshine, puppies, and everything else pure), Emil.
