Raising awareness of this because I think about this a lot, and it kills me every time I do. To think that someone would commit such a disgusting hate crime because they can't stand the idea of two men falling in love is sickening, upsetting and just.. that.

Queer people are simply people who love, people who fight for their freedom, people who have to face discrimination no matter where they are. Queer people are people. And there are individuals who commit shit like that? Individuals who actively try and tear down the voices of human beings who simply want to live life in peace, without the fear of being violated when they do something as simple as going outside? Individuals who would rather discriminate than educate theirself or at least mind their own fucking business?

And queer people are the problem here? It just doesn't make sense.

"Movie night"

A little something for the 11 starving Mickandy fans out there :)

"Halloween, for what, the second time this week?"

"Fourth, thank you very much."

"Wow, I'm surprised you could count that high."

"Fuck off."

The banter between Mickey and Randy never changed, even after they began going on little movie dates at Randy's place. Randy never had much experience with dates and all, especially with a guy like Mickey, who had tons. He thought it would be Sidney, but y'know, he was happy with what he got. At least it was something.

Mickey quickly set the mood for the evening. Windows shut, lights out, blankets and pillows comfortably displayed on the bed. He had to admit, he loved Halloween, but watching it over and over again was getting exhausting. But as of now, he didn't mind at all, cause he was watching it with Randy. Meant he had an excuse to get distracted.

The two idiots sat beside each other on the bed, with Mickey laying down and Randy sitting up with his back against the headboard.

The night was comfortable for the both of them. Mickey barely keeping his eyes on the TV and instead focused on Randy being so observant of the movie despite him seeing it a million times before. He could already tell he wanted that boy for himself forever.

"Hey, Meeks." Mickey broke the silence.

"Yo."

"Anyone ever tell you how pretty you look when being all focused like that?"

"Yeah, your mom, the last time she came over."

"Mature." Mickey scoffed, still with a dumb smile on his face.

Mickey sat up and took the remote from Randy's lap, muting the film. That immediately cause Randy to turn his head over to Mickey with an almost offended expression.

"Hey, what gives?"

"I'm feeling a little neglected here, Randy."

"What are you talking about?"

God, he sucked at dates, no wonder Sidney didn't want to go on one with him. He was probably more interested in the movie than the date itself. No, he definitely was.

Thankfully, Randy recognized that look on Mickey's face and realized his mistake.

"Shit, I'm sorry."

"Are you?"

"I am. I'll- uhh, I'll turn off the TV and we can go to sleep, if you want or whatever. You want that?"

"I don't think that'll suffice, Randy."

"Okay, so what do you want, Mickey?"

"A kiss."

"A ki- Pardon?"

"You heard me."

That was.. quick, to say the least. Randy knew they were on a date and stuff but like.. kissing? Now? That's bold, and to say he was nervous would be an ABSOLUTE understatement.

Randy's hands involuntarily began toying with the bedsheet, suddenly gripping it a little tighter than he was before. Mickey only stared at the sight before him, an eerie display for Randy since the way the light from the TV landed on Mickey's face gave him goosebumps. He didn't know if it was romantic goosebumps or "I'm gonna shit ny pants" goosebumps.

"Jeez, alright, uhm, here I come..?" Randy said, the strain in his voice barely able to contain itself.

Mickey laughed at Randy's idiocy.

" "Here I come"? Oh, you suck."

Another retort was about to leave Randy's mouth but it was quickly shut down when Mickey's lips were suddenly on his.

It caught him off guard, and it took a while for him to get used to the unfamiliar contact, but eventually he got the hang of it, sort of, not really. Mickey's hand on the back of his head, it's like he wasn't even trying, and Randy was using all his strength not to mess up this big moment.

The moment the two pulled away, Mickey was already grinning again, with Randy being too flustered to actually react. He was sort of.. frozen, just chilling there.

"I mean, it wasn't the worst." Mickey commented, his index finger wiping his bottom lip.

"So I did good?"

"No, not at all, no. We'll work on it. Anyway, I am ready to take you up on that *"Turn off the TV and go to sleep"* offer."

"..Yeah, yeah totally." Randy sat in silence for a few seconds to process what just happened.

Embarrassing for him, but a total core memory for Mickey.

Randy then got up and turned off the TV before returning to the bed. He laid down and closed his eyes, ready to forget that embarrassing moment. But Mickey's arms were quick to find Randy's waist and pull the young man closer to his own body.

"Night, Meeks."

"Goodnight."

Randy had a feeling that Mickey will never let go of him or that moment.

And honestly? He hoped he never will.
