my thoughts on genshin characters @ hogwarts - part 1 mondstadt women edition

i love harry potter, and i love genshin impact, soooo why not mix the two together !!!!!!!!!! i know this has been done so many times so it's just what i think these characters would be like if they were at hogwarts :p and i fear i do get pretty long but i just love these guys what can i say

i think she'd be a half-blood, partly because of info from genshin itself - something about her grandfather being from liyue, but also because she'd have understanding of the muggle world too.

she would have the best of both worlds

for her wand, she would definitely have a unicorn tail hair core, and maybe cinnamon wood ?

a hare or bunny for her patronus, leaning more on hare

she wouldn't sit still, and is either helping out lost students, delivering messages for professors, or dragging her friends out for little adventures on school grounds

she'd also be a champion of justice, watching out for any bullies and showing them the lesser-known harsh side of hers she has

she's like gryffindor's unofficial official big sister, she's so close to the new first years and they always look up to her

she would absolutely loveeee flying classes, and you already know she's a chaser on the gryffindor quidditch team.

in her later years, she absolutely carries the team because my god she loves playing quidditch and she can get absolutely ruthless when she wants to win, and could end up being captain

i would love to see how she decorates the common room after a good old quidditch win

not many people as as cheerful and full of house spirit as her really

first to cheer everyone up after anything demotivating, like quidditch losses or house competitions

she'd always be out trying to make friends and build bridges with them

on this topic, she'd also be a muggle-born advocate, making them feel really welcome in the wizarding world

she loves exploring the castle and sneaking around where she shouldn't be

would try to pet dear fluffy if klee found it, and have to be dragged away by qiqi before she turns into the supper of a three-headed dog

she would be a half-blood too, because she's also half elf (are there elves in hp ?)

she would love transfiguration, i feel, because it's such a jean subject

gets O's in all her OWLs and NEWTs. but there's no shock here

she'd also love DADA, and be really good at duelling too

doesn't let house rivalries get out of hand, especially with how she sees the younger kids act

sees a lot of herself in amber, and teaches her quite a bit/mentors her

she's a library regular, and lisa starts questioning of the sorting hat can change houses in your later years at hogwarts

she has this really cute little owl who, i swear, looks exactly like barbara does

she always helps out her classmates in class with whatever, and if she doesn't know, she'd go away and learn all the material for it then find them the next day and help

she sings in her spare time and probably blushes a bit when people bring it up, but then starts to lead impromptu singalongs in the common room

for one, that big-ass vocabulary she has that confuses the crap out of everyone

also have to mention how much effort must go into keeping up her 'persona' as Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort

absolutely a ravenclaw

probably a muggleborn too, which is why she created her Fischl persona; nobody would know of her blood status, she can just create a new life and nobody would know (kinda)

because everyone can really see through it but just lets her do her own thing

she probably tries to get Bennett and Razor to explore the forest with her so she can show off her image

would oz be a raven or an owl ? whichever takes ur fancy i suppose

LOVES magical literature, and is known for her unique fashion even in her uniform

top student in divination :p

hangs around albedo a lot and wants to learn so much from him, he's her role model

she's the go-to for anything related to those subjects, since she's the easier of the alchemy duo to approach

has her own little garden near the greenhouses filled with rare plants

definitely a halfblood as well

you know how, as kids, we made 'potions' with our shampoo/bath stuff or just random shit we found on the ground at playtimes ? she absolutely did that too as a kid

found some rainwater, random berries, smushed them up and mixed it altogether and had some random dude test it out for her (may or may not be anecdotal)

either a halfblood or pureblood, i'm leaning more pureblood from some prestigious ravenclaw family

i can't believe i forgot divination she would be so good at that too

but she'd probs hate trelawney's way of teaching, great moment of bonding with hermione

honestly i think slytherin suits her best of the 4 houses

ambition is a big thing for slytherins, and we all know how she feels about the alcohol/wine industry

a halfblood too, but she may try to become an animagus when she's older

could be seen as scary or fierce by others in the school

she would definitely be on the quidditch team as a chaser - her feline lineage probably helps her a bit here, but she would love to show up other players

butt heads with all the bullies and get the schools' respect for doing so

she would HATE the pureblood elitism going on in her house, and always butt heads with them

constantly reminding them that they can't be all that great, since she's in the same house as them

AND she's way better at potions than them (unfortunately for her)

honestly snape would be impressed with her, because even though her motivations are unusual to him, she's still an ace at potions

she would be good at care of magical creatures too, and have great affinity with the feline-like creatures especially because of her lineage

she'd have a small soft spot for the younger kids, and help them out with homework or pass them snacks in detention or on punishment as long as they pinky promise her never to touch firewhisky or butterbeer when they grow up

her patronus would probs be a lynx actually, because of her independence and loyalty, and her passion to overthrow the alcohol industry

gonna dump some leftover thoughts on the idol au while im still braining

lumine and aether actually debuted together! but after working with each other for so long, there's only so many ways to sing songs without their voices thinning too much with one another. and as time passed, they slowly branched out to other projects, with aether joining 4NEMO (later 5WIRL) and lumine continuing on as a solo idol and keeping her stagename viatrix! they're both being produced by abyssal star records. dainsleif and paimon are their managers! their final album together was particularly special, with it being cut into two halves, song-wise and album-wise, meaning aether and lumine's voices were rendered separately. even the title of the albums "luminescent light" and "in the aether" piqued fans because of the unique format. as their final performance, they sang together in a very big idol event and separated in good terms.

zhongli actually knows that yun jin is lucida. it's not really that hard to catch her in a lie when she talks so eagerly about "xingyan", a friend extremely skilled in cooking, cleaning, and sewing. he's very happy to see her expressing herself so well despite liyue's traditions and is a big fan of lucida herself.

DCKZ has gotten arrested. more than once. actually every member has at this point. childe holds the record with a whopping 37 arrest warrants, 22 restraining orders, and 19 suspensions.

AD3PTUS members can be a little...uncomfortable with each other. their ages don't match their looks at all, and with shenhe being so serious and maybe a little scary, ganyu trying her best to even stay awake and yanfei's constant reading of her law books were Not helping. but they're genuine about being idols together and enjoy their time with one another, despite how incompatible they all seem.

all of KA5EN's songs were recorded separately, with albedo compiling their voices and synthesizing them to perfection. except for one: kuronushi. which was the most highly-awaited song of the group. however the tale behind the recording of kuronushi, as well as the sixth voice that haunts the song's final verses, as if trying hard not to be noticed yet melancholic, well, the rest of KA5EN has outrightly refused to speak up about it, regarding it as a false rumor, despite the suggestions of fans to listen to the song underwater, to fully hear the small echo of a voice fading behind the music.

TVT DREAM'S bennett has some funny tales about the idol industry, although beginners would best not approach him for advice. it's not that he's bad per se, it's more like the last person to take bennett's advice almost had a ceiling light fall on them, which gladly missed—as it hit none other than bennett instead.

kuki shinobu is itto's manager btw she's on a permanent state of "itto stop fucking around and GO DO YOUR JOB"

if you're looking for a plot, the closest thing i can give you is the idolification of every archon quest. for example, the liyue archon quest in this AU roughly translates to CRvSTAL's debut and the filming and release of zhongli's movie, while the inazuma archon quest's equivalent is the subsequent scandal regarding sakura and euthymia—or rather, euthymia's twin sister.

let's talk managers! they're my favorite flavor in idol AUs lol, anyway venti's manager is definitely dvalin, razor's is andrius, diluc is self-produced but adelinde manages his affairs most times, childe is backed by a big sponsor under the name "tsaritsa" and is part of the "harbinger project". there are a lot of rumors that he was professionally trained by someone named "skirk" and while childe's eager to share information, most times it comes in exchange of a duel.

Has talent, like, god-blessed music talent. He can compose his own songs

After a long time of disappearing, he came back to the industry with hope of bringing his songs to fans

YAE MIKO: She's not a dozen, she's actually very talented, but she sometimes fucks up to see how her fans will defend the stupid shit she does, ik she getting into all kinds of crazy scandals and shit, has 8 dating scandals per year, lazy dancing articles, the thing is sometimes she is lazy dancing because she can't be bothered. she's very uncensored to her fans none of that idol personality and she does as much skin ship as possible (with Ei obvs)

KUJOU SARA: this girl is sick of the shit that that fans are making her do in fancalls and meetings, she expressed her love for birds ONCE and now they making her do bird noises and shit. You can see the life drain out of her everytime she does it. probably lead dancer and main rapper, and trust she writes her own shit. and I know she was going off pre-debut dissing everyone and their extended family. Her reactions to stages are definitely used as memes too.

EI: She's the leader and face of the group, definitely the most popular. She's kinda mysterious in a way that's what most people think, but she's actually really simple lmao, she fine with fanservice (with yae) and does it willingly but most of the time it's just her being her, mukbangs as streams to fans and that are like once every two months, never goes on variety shows but has a lot off modelling opportunities. definitely has the most antis.

AYAKA: her fans are the Ei antis PFFT. she the second most popular and like the nations princess, always lovely and kind unlike her fans lmao, she (and miko) go on the most variety shows, many of her fans feel she's most excluded from the group but in the most indirect way possible she'll try to assure that she's fine but then her fans take that as yeah she's defo in trouble lmao. she's a lil stressed because of all the expectations to be perfect cus all her other members are doing they're own thing but she hangs with yoimiya in her free time then BOOM the teyvat equivalent of dispatch shows up. Has one post on Instagram, it has over 3 million likes. most of her fans are advocating for #AyakaGoSolo

YOIMIYA: An all rounder soloist idc idc she was in a group when she was younger but then turned solo and blew up in popularity not because of her music (because her tt's are sometimes ass (yoimiya gives me hyuna vibes (mid 2010s tho cus her music now is- [train goes by]))) and clear talent but rather for her energy and how fun she is on variety shows, gets along very well with Ayaka and everyone wants them to collab. she unawarely(?) does fanservice but she's the type of person to tell her fans to touch grass and stop thinking of marrying her cus it's weird! loves live streams and vlogs with her dad and has over 3 mil on her YouTube.

KOKOMI: The IU of the industry, and shifted from her lil (very popular) acting career to music to see what she truly into, on variety shows she seems calm and loving and all that jazz but ik she's stressed as fuck not to mention very secretive, she hardly tells her fans shit. hardly anyone knows her, but anyway yassss her voice is pretty, 50/50 on the good songs and her stages are fire ik it.

SAYU: She's a teen trainee, when she goes on competition shows to show her skills ik those judges always calling her cute and that makes her PISSED LMAO she's a good dancer but she slacks off and that gets whatever groups she's in mad as hell like that one girl from gp999, yet she somehow manages to eat them up, singing is not her strongest point though, she more of a main dancer and sub rapper if anything

THINKING OF GENSHIN IDOL AUS AGAINNNN here's my takes on them, pls beware this is coming from someone who consumes an insane amount of idol media and it's just my personal au that will never get written.

ofc we gotta start with 4NEMO! vocalists kazuha and venti with performers aether and xiao. then they meet heizou and ask him to join the emo pop band and they relaunch as 5WIRL. i die from joy

AD3PTUS! trio idol unit of yanfei, ganyu, and shenhe! it used to just be yanfei and ganyu but their talent manager—cloud retainer—introduced them to shenhe and thus AD3PTUS was born

ayaka is a solo artist! her stagename is hime☆ and she sings beautifully! but she's more appreciated for her delicate appearance and grace.

DCKZ. they're just. there. no explanation

TVT DREAM! ofc we're not passing on the cutest 4-person idol group (sorry 5WIRL yall lost the title now). their songs are very cool but people are starting to wonder why one of the vocalists (bennett) is always wearing a hard hat offstage

QXNG! probably the biggest group yet with eight members, but they mostly only have select members performing, and are only known by their stagenames: yuheng, tianquan, and a mysterious guest idol who performs with them who gained the moniker "ursa major"

barbara is. well, herself. she's already an idol in canon. in this au, she doesn't use a stagename but after previously only singing in religious choir, she was inspired to become an idol by an anonymous singer going by the pseudonym barbatos who sang “the dragon and freedom”. a cover of said song was the first musical work barbara ever did and the key to her discovery as an idol

there's also music duo sakura and euthymia! there have been so so many rumors regarding the two, ranging from the two of them being lovers to the idea that euthymia wasn't the original singer due to the drastic change in her voice after their 5 year hiatus. some theories suggest that the current euthymia is an identical twin.

kreideprinz, another solor artist known for painting while singing. he doesn't hold concerts much (according to his talent agency, he's a fan of silence). he's the older brother of the child star klee and they're often seen together in public. he also apologizes to agents who work with klee for her...explosive tendencies.

KA5EN is also fairly well known in the teyvat idol community, with ayaka, xingqiu, albedo, kazuha, and venti. hime☆ fans, or better known as frosts, as well as kreideprinz fans, looked forward to their performance intensely as this was the few instances they'd see their favorite idols performing with other people. although some theories bubble within the community as leaks of the former logo spelling KAS6N circulate and a rumored sixth voice is heard from one of their latest singles, "kuronushi".

Is literally a GOD on talk shows. Do you know how there’s always a member who puts the host in their place? It’s him.

Somehow always knows when Dispatch is near and always poses like he’s about to twerk (Bonus Points if Childe is also there, they’ve put on shows)

Information Scenario about Kaeya of DCZK:

     Although Kaeya is a member of DCKZ, Kaeya is also still part of an underground music group called KHNRH along with Albedo (ex-member of TVT Dream original debut line up) and Dainsleif. Kaeya joined KHNRH before and after he became a trainee at FAVONIUS Entertainmet. It was from this group that Kaeya honed his unique dance skills and his very distinctive rap style. As one of DCKZ’s vocalists, Kaeya is an all-rounder thanks to this experience.

Information Scenario about DCKZ’s Song - Abyssal Light:

     Abyssal Light is a song written and produced by Zhongli, Childe (his rap part), and the producing team DCKZ. The song is essentially about wanting to be with someone special during rough times in life. This song seems to tell the story of the four DCKZ members who are falling into the deepest abyss while they continue to hope and seek the light that will lead them out of the darkness.

     Wherein, sometimes one might land on a foggy and dark path in life with feelings of anxiousness and turmoil hooking to your heart, but even in times of such uncertainties, one must run in full force and with gay abandon to a path leading to eternity; because at the end of the turmoil tunnel is the golden light of hope and happiness.

VENTI

Meet Venti — The Windborne Bard!

An individual that shoots melodies and lyrics straight out of his arse. The one and only, the leader of 4NEMO.

Technically, nothing he sings, writes or composes are shot out of his very nice ass. They're rather exquisite, never failing to impress his fans.

But he's just so freaking talented. It's almost unfair.

So trust me when I say this man can single-handedly make tsunderes— It's an inside joke of the fandom to chastise Venti for his bashful mischief and tendency to get in trouble.

Oh and they don't even wanna talk about the Holy Lyre der Himmel incident.

Barbatos' most treasured lyre and Venti really just broke it before giving it back. Favonius Entertainment's authorities and followers alike pretty much busted a gut over it; Not as much as shining idol Deaconess Barbara did, though.

The erm.. rather violent scandal was sweeped under a rug later on, but the deaconess' fans definitely found joy in the brief glimpse they had of a side of Barbara they never knew before. Many have likely fantasized about it, but more on that later.

Venti co-founded the group with Aether and a few others.

Since he has the most experience in music and show business, he gets to be the leader. A decision begrudgingly approved by everyone. (None of them exactly wanted to lead, either. But Venti? Because, really?)

Now, contrary to popular belief — especially the members' — Venti made an excellent leader.

No one really expected much from him. However, despite Venti being infamous for his unreliable character, he handles everyone quite well.

Of course, there's not much problem with Aether. Everybody loves Aether! Aether can do no wrong.

But also, Venti can easily calm Xiao; It's this magic moment where Xiao is just about to burst, or when he's in a very bad mood, or when Xiao leaves the room to skulk, or well, technically, that's all the time—

"Xiao," Venti would call.

Then the idol would visibly freeze from his soft almost cooing tone.

And when Venti says: "Come here," Xiao goes through this whole process of softening under Venti's touch.

As for Kazuha, he was never the chatty type. Much like Xiao. But when Kazu did speak, Venti would listen. Considering how easy it is to talk over him, this simple action is quite the feat.

Over time, the others would learn to keep their ears open for Kazuha as well. (This is with Venti's advice, of course.)

It can simply be said that Venti can be mature and logical when he wants to be. Those moments were rare, but essential.

As for the times when he's not trying to make sure everyone is okay, he's a crackhead.

Although, no questions asked, Venti's the main vocalist. He's decent at dancing, and his rapping doesn't have as much appeal as the others' does—

but his vocals. HIS VOCALS.

Those who have not heard his singing voice are simply unfortunate, because it is the closest you will ever be to heaven. Venti's vocals are simply celestial.

He may not know much of his way around a rap, but he is nothing short of an expert at singing. Or harmonizing. Or bringing out others' voices by being back-up but your voice still shines through even as back-up.

It's amazing, alright? He's amazing.

Other than his voice, Venti's possibly best hook as an idol is his big personality. And let me tell you, Venti has so. much. per-so-na-li-ty.

Let's all agree that he basically lights up every room he walks into.

Also—

"Ya~hoo! The name's Venti! This is Xiao, Kazuha and Aether, and we are.. Is that wine?"

(There is definitely an existing meme involving him and wine.)

Aether sighs from beside him. "4nemo. Our name, is 4nemo."

(Venti is, most definitely, at the legal age to drink wine. And yes, he has most definitely sent emails to Angel's Share to let him advertise their wine.)

Venti appeals to his fans as a young feral cutie. He's adorable, and acts childlike in all his endeavors.

He totally can't read the room— or doesn't anyway.

He's unbelievably clingy. Loud, but they only let it be because he sings a lot and his singing is never bad.

"Even when he's intoxicated, he's cute!" his fans would say. (Though most would tell them that it might be a matter of the eye of the beholder thing)

He is just so wholesome. He acts like a child so often that his fans are expected to want to baby him.

In fact, Venti is so family-friendly that—

GODDAMNIT. NO, HE IS NOT

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME—" you hear his fans from a mile away— "WHY MUST HE DO THIS!?? VENTI NO!!!"

Oh, yes. Venti yes.

He acts all cute and wholesome during their variety show and vlogs—

And then the new music video comes out.

HE'S NOT EVEN DRESSED SEXILY—

But Venti looks as celestial as his moves are utterly enticing.

He's not as skillful a dancer as Xiao, but Venti sets that mood like he sets 4nemo's kitchen on fire 🔥🔥🔥 He's very seductive— he reels you in with those teal bedroom eyes. Almost glowing from intensity.

He argues to Aether: "It's the contradiction! I want them to feel embarrassed that they're attracted to me in that way when I'm so wholesome <3 And they can't really blame me! I was just dancing normally, ehe~"

His fans argue: "It's the gap moe."

Venti definitely plays a lot of instruments, too! Mainly the lyre, the piano, the ukelele, and the flute. (He's surely good at others as well.)

He definitely names all his instruments, too.

Meet Xiao — The Vigilant Yaksha

A talent that has long been hidden in the depths of Liyue Qixing Studio's idols. Many fans know him by his title, but rarely by his name. He's been called a ghost, a mysterious entity— but no matter the person, anyone who watches his performance are always moved by it.

With that said, Xiao is decidedly the main dancer of 4NEMO.

He had always been dancing; But his first interest in the music business came from an encounter with Barbatos' music.

It was during the sort-of battle of the bands for the Archon's seat, and at the time, he'd been in a very bad place in life. He'd been reckless. Uncaring for his own well-being. And the only thought that had been on his mind back then was to assist Rex Lapis out of gratitude.

But when the Archon war ended, where was he to go?

Barbatos' music helped him out of what would have been a very dangerous mindset for him; He had danced to it only once. And he'd searched for him for so long only to come up with nothing.

The goal to dance to Barbatos' songs was probably what pushed him to join 4NEMO. That is, more than his fondness for Aether, he suppose— to dance to Barbatos' music was just another reason.

Sooooo, is anyone going to tell him that Venti is Barbatos? No? Okay-

Other than being the main dancer, Xiao is also the lead rapper. He doesn't have much experience with it, but his voice definitely suits rapping.

Kazuha guides him from time to time; And that was fine.

Anyone but Venti would do.

"How did I do?"

For some reason, Kazuha always laughs merrily before giving his criticism. It's not out of mockery. Xiao's convinced he'd know if it was.

But it must have been because of something he did— was it his face?

"Why are you laughing?"

"Hahaha, it's nothing, Xiao. Don't mind me."

Xiao, of course, would scowl disapprovingly at that. For some reason, he always feels as if he's being treated like an overenthusiastic child by Kazuha.

To be fair, Xiao has always taken the somewhat more responsible role when he's with Aether and Venti.

Venti will always annoy him, and Aether was more of a wild card— the boy switches sides as often as he smiles. And he smiles a lot of times.

So Kazuha suddenly coming in and patting him on the head? the head pats weren't unwelcomed but It's definitely new.

Xiao is also one of the visuals!

Surprisingly, or perhaps unsurprisingly, he's the most fashionable out of the four of them. He has a really good eye for styling. And his make-up skills are the best! Red eyeliner on the bottom lid? A purple diamond on his forehead? Exotic. It represents 4NEMO's brand so well.

And you'd think it would have been Venti, but no—

Xiao is simply a genius when it comes down to it. You can even see it in the way he styles himself!

He always wears tight-fitted shirts. And they're never not sleeveless— it's definitely so he could show off his green tattoo. Sometimes they're collared. Sometimes it's a high neck. Sometimes they show his collar bones, but this man.. This man never styles without a choker or any piece of clothing that hugs his slender neck.

Oh no, don't even get his fans started on the tank top, the back window, and the white shirt.

"Ooohh~ Xiao's wearing white for a change, everyone!" giggles an unsuspecting Venti as he plops down beside Xiao. "Ehhhh? Why'd you have to cover it up with a jacket?"

Venti vlogs their travels live from time to time. So Xiao just goes along with it after denying being filmed for so long.

"It's cold," was his fairly simple answer.

"Now, now! Don't be like that, Xiao~ Let us see!" Venti teases. "Right, chat? Xiao should let us see, right?"

Chat echoes a series of agreement even as Xiao shakes his head from Venti's mischief. Of course, Venti being Venti, ignores this and sneakily pulled on his jacket's zipper.

"Venti—"

Before Xiao could even scold him, the jacket has already been pulled open— and there Xiao is, leaning back on the couch and sighing in all his beautiful glory, a white turtle neck only covering half his torso open for all of Venti's vlog spectators to see.

Clearly, Venti did not anticipate the overwhelming aesthecity of Xiao's very toned stomach muscles.

So after just standing there in shock, opening and closing his mouth like a fish, Venti squeals in embarrassment, drops his phone and runs.

"AEEETHEEEEEERRRRRRR—"

Xiao takes it upon himself to pick up Venti's phone.

He winks at the camera, and the chat goes wild.

Safe to say, his fans (and Venti) are feral.

He styles the others occasionally, too. Especially Venti— his taste is unconventional, too unconventional, so Xiao tells him to save his creative ideas for fashion vlogs.

Xiao likes putting Aether in heels 👀

And Kazuha— well, Kazuha already styles himself just fine. Xiao's just there for a second opinion.

As for Xiao's fans, they are absolutely starved.

No one — and I mean no one— can ever convince me that this is not true.

There's not much individual content of Xiao out there; So his fans have to rely on watching other idols' vlogs if they want to see him outside of their group's official appearances, as well.

His fans mostly see him when Kazuha goes live; Both of them are super chill, and when they go on a vlog together, it's really just them hanging out in the hotel room while Venti and Aether are out, in which those two go outside the most as the faces of the group.

The followers never really thought that the Kazuha and Xiao pairing would be entertaining, but some do see their friendship as something holy and untouchable.

If his fans want to see him hang out outside though, their bets would be best put on Aether and Venti—

With Aether, Xiao is still pretty tame. And when they go to the mall, they somehow always end up buying clothes for each other. The people look forward to the choreography videos the most, though, with Aether being the lead dancer and all.

But if Xiao's fans wants everything to be extra comedic, they go to Venti. Because Venti does not tame Xiao.. He drags this man out of the cave and pushes him around to his heart's content.

Xiao may appear in Kazuha's vlogs most often, but he's liveliest in Venti's vlogs— and by lively, I mean angry.

Clearly, no one can count the number of times Xiao has been subjected to Venti's pranks and antics.

He's also always in the video when Venti mentions doing something to or with a boy best friend. (More or less, Xiao definitely has had enough of recording for TikTok with him as well.)

Oh, and comedy-wise, all fans of his should definitely have heard of that one vlog— Zhongli's video, titled 'Childe buys everything I put in the cart'. Everyone who shipped Zhongli and Childe says it was a date. And that Xiao was either Zhongli's Feral Child or The Prettier-Than-The-Date Third Wheel.

"Hmm, Xiansheng.. Are you sure this is all you want?"

Childe asks, deliberately ignoring the fuming Xiao right beside the gentleman. The man in question moves to nod, but Xiao turns to him sharply, so Zhongli respectfully waits for his opinion.

Zhongli considered this. He turned Xiao's words over in his head even as Childe retorts and the two had both entered in a cycle of banter once more.

Then, he decided.

"Xiao."

Both men stop their bickering to turn to him.

"Get in the cart."

Clearly, it was just a metaphor.

No one near enough to Xiao would ever dare to mention the fact that after a second of internal debate, he had readily approached the cart as if it was a formidable opponent; Everyone pretend that he wasn't willing to do it.

But after such a bit, Zhongli proceeded to call up 4NEMO's manager and buy Xiao's time to advertise a donation event Zhongli decided to hold on a whim.

The rule was technically to buy whatever Zhongli puts on the cart.

So Xiao bought the cart for Zhongli. And Zhongli picked out whatever he needed for the event and placed it inside.

Suffice to say, when Xiao hisses at Childe whenever he sees him, Childe hides behind Zhongli and hisses back.

Anyhow, Xiao does have social media. He never uses them.

He never tweets.

(If he does, IT'S SO OUT OF CONTEXT I- Every tweet has 5k or more replies, and everyone is making up these elaborate stories - EVEN THREADS - as to why he would say this.)

So it's less like he 'never' tweets, and more like he tweets so randomly.

At one point, he retweeted cats because Kazuha liked them.

"Kazuha, Aether. Go to, after lunch." He captioned.

He doesn't know how to bookmark or screenshot. This man literally uses twitter to write his schedule, I'm crying

Right after the cat thing, his next tweet is an apology to Venti, because Venti DEFINITELY made a thread about being left out.

"I'm sorry, Venti. But you're allergic to cats."

He posts his practice dances once every three weeks. And he goes live once a month.. or a month and a half.

When I tell you his fans are crying, they absolutely are. Especially those who have a completely different time zone.

It's not too much of a hassle once the newbies get used to it, though. They love him all the same. And their bitterness disappears whenever he goes live—

"..."

Xiao stares at the camera in silence, lips pressed together, and cheeks decidedly very red.

All his fans know, after all, that Xiao may be polite and courteous, but he's also quite awkward. The fact that he doesn't try to be his usually distant and polite self when he goes live speaks volumes.

Xiao treasures his fans a lot. So he tries to be more outgoing for them.

"I brought my flute today. Would you like to hear me play it?"

In short, Xiao makes a lot of his fans wait— but he's very meticulous. And every time he does feed them content, the wait would always be worth it.

( P. S. - A number of his fans definitely make threads about how sweet and gentle he is under the deceivingly grouchy exterior. )
