Okay so bad news for everyone on YouTube right now

Starting the 13th, we will have an AI determine if we are children or not and if you are a child, than you are forced to send your ID, send a selfie or a credit card

This has the obvious cons of having your privacy being revoked from you and and in case there is a security breach, major identity thefts.

So what do we do in this scenario?

Well right now I have real idea as this is relativity new to me, but I do have two plans

Plan 1. Bug the shit out of them, send letters and send emails about how much of bad idea this is.

Include why the AI will mess up and target adults who watch cartoons, include privacy issues, censorship issues, anything you can think of that relates to this. I want you guys to bug the hell out of YouTube until they reverse this idea

Plan 2. Blackout.

Since the thing is coming out on the 13th.

The plan will be to completely avoid YouTube at all cost for that day, no watching, no sharing, no uploading, no nothing.

Download videos before things go down, watch Netflix. Whatever you do, don’t touch YouTube.

That’s all I can say right now, I also want you guys to let YouTubers know of this situation cause if it’s important for everyone on the website to talk about this immediately

There's increasing talk of Trump possibly having dementia so this is your reminder that making fun of disabilities is still violent and ableist even if the disabled person a bad person. People with dementia and other forms of CI are not stupid, intentionally violent, or more bigoted than the rest of the population. There is also nothing funny or mock-worthy about incontinence, slurred speech, confusion, or word salad. You can have discussions about his ability to lead and declining health without throwing an exceptionally vulnerable disabled population under the bus.

Haven’t seen many people talking about this. One of the groups behind pressuring steam to remove adult content is a TERF group backed by conservative Christian groups. Once again the root behind a lot of anti-porn talking points is transphobia/transmisogyny and the idea that being trans is a social contagion caused by porn/‘pervertedness’

Now, the group is claiming responsibility for Steam’s new payment processor policies, with its co-founder calling impacted gamers “porn sick” and “brain rotted.” In one case, the organization even retweeted a notoriously anti-trans feminist who declared that “pervert nerds are responsible for most of society’s ills.” The retweeted feminist, a self-described “trans-exclusionary radical feminist,” proceeded to write under her post, “Evidence #1: trans.”

This is a Moving Forward PSA for everyone using AO3. I am witnessing the results of a culture clash and communication failure. Not a lack of communication, but a misunderstanding caused by changes in fandom culture.

Before fic tagging was common, fics weren’t tagged. You had a pairing, if applicable, an author’s note about genre or general content, and if they were feeling charitable, a vague content warning. There are even a few genres of fic where even vaguely tagging literally spoils the plot and impact (such as horror, psyche thriller, in which the likely content is implicit to the genre). As a result, there is a basic category tag that permits this, as a courtesy to “old-fashioned” writers.

“No Archive Warnings Apply” means the fic is PG13 at worst, probably fluff, totally safe.

“Choose Not to Use Archive Warnings” is the polar opposite. It’s a glaring Enter at Your Own Risk billboard. It means: a shitload of warnings apply but I ain’t telling because this story requires shock value. It’s very important to read the author’s notes for those fics because they might be using that older format from above.

But without the context of fandom culture that generated AO3, it’s understandably easy to conflate the two categories, given their similar wording.

Wrangling Update: Undertale & Deltarune Fan Games & Fanmade Web Series

Hello Undertale and Deltarune fans!

Based on the updated policy laid out in this post, we are planning to canonize Undertale Yellow as a separate fandom from Undertale, as we have determined that it meets the criteria of sufficient original content and size requirement to qualify for its own fandom tag. In the coming days, we will be canonizing Undertale Yellow (Master Sword Video Game) and subtagging it to the main Undertale fandom.

Fandom tags which have been used primarily or entirely for Undertale Yellow (and variations) will be moved over to the new fandom once it has been canonized. Please be aware that it may take some time to complete this transition, so we thank you for your patience as we make these changes.

AO3 tag wranglers will use the following criteria to determine if a fan game, web series, or webcomic should get its own fandom tag:

Is it in the format of a playable game, a webcomic, or a series of videos?

Does it focus on a new cast of characters or significantly differ from the source fandom in some other significant way?

Does it have at least 10 fanworks on AO3 posted by 10 unique users?

In anticipation of questions, we also want to address that at this time we will not be canonizing other fan games or non-game fan-created fandoms for Undertale and Deltarune, including those that may share some similarities to Undertale Yellow. Wranglers have examined other Undertale and Deltarune fan games, webcomics, and web series currently synonyms of the main fandom canonicals, but found no other fandom tags that fit the criteria for canonization at present. These will remain synonyms of Undertale for the time being. We will continue to monitor tag usage, as well as evaluating new webcomics and web series on a case by case basis, and may make additional adjustments if usage changes.

If you notice distinct Undertale or Deltarune fan-created games or web series that have been tagged for on the Archive that reach 10 uses by 10 distinct creators, you are welcome to submit a request for canonization by contacting AO3 Support, and our team will evaluate the request to determine if these fandoms should be canonized under the current guidelines.

Do you need to use a mobility aid to be cripple punk? or just disabled? Is there like criteria or anything?

Cripple punk is very interesting to me and I really feel like I need to find more disability community but I think it kind of incites some kind of insecurity that I don't count or I'm not 'disabled enough'

Cripple punk is for anyone of any physical disability, theres no dictating if you're "disabled enough" because there is no "enough" it's just simply if you're physically disabled regardless of how severe it is or isnt. Mobility aids arent a requirement, not everyone can afford one or is in an environment that let's them have one.

If your condition is in anyway debilitating then you are disabled, imposter syndrome is an ass and we all deal with it, but you are welcome.

The only people not welcome are able bodied people

Folks have got to understand that they probably aren't messed up by some Secret Big Trauma that they just can't remember; but rather by a million tiny microtraumas that they do mostly remember but don't even register as traumatic because nobody actually understood that these things would cause trauma, much less stack on each other over the years.
