sssnippetaday: only love can hurt like this
prompt from twitter: @ssdailyprompts
he remembers.
it was engraved in his soul, he remembers it all; sasuke had learned the word hurt in a way no one can would want for a child to endure.
it was unrelenting, it came itching and clawing its way out of his clogged throat, it made him become someone whose life is full of nothing but hatred.
but then she came, she came ready to give all of hers without expecting anything in return, all he needed to do is–accept it, bask on it, be selfish and proud with it.
he didn't accept it.
instead, he forced himself to walk away from the light that was waiting for him.
sasuke forced himself to stop the lingering thoughts of maybe he deserved this–her.
no matter how much he tried to shut her out, tried to shut her confession of love towards an undeserving guy like him, it still feels like a thorn has been plunged in his heart.
it hurts just like all those years ago where he first met the unprecedented occurrence that led him to his fate of vengeance.
he loved, still loves, and hopes for love.
and it all ends of him being hurt.
only love can hurt like this, and only love can help mend and heal his broken soul;
love that was in a form of sweetest smile from his brother and love that tastes like divine freedom in a form of soft and warm being that is her, sakura.
and so, sasuke looks up at the blanket of twinkling stars above, lets out a deep breath and starts his journey back home where love awaits.

sssnippetaday: Moving In
prompt from twitter: @SSdailyprompts
the rain is angry, pouring everything that it has on the quiet evening, it has been a little while since sasuke stepped inside konoha and every time, relief will come rushing in him. he adjusted the strap of his bag before starting his journey towards his home.
his feet softly padding on the wooden floor of an apartment complex, his cloak's creating a puddle of mess as he stand still and stare at a light-green door.
sasuke is having a second thoughts if he should knock or use the key that he have in his person.
knowing sakura, she's either currently sleeping or in the hospital working at this hour and he doesn't want to disturb her.
clicking his tongue, he decided to just use his key and quietly enters the apartment he's been crashing into whenever he's in the village.
and he reveled in the sweet and clean scent that wafted through his nose upon entering.
the apartment is dark save for the dim light coming from the kitchen sink.
he looked around searching for his familiar companion every time he'll go here, everything is tidy and in its place.
he removed his cloak and walked towards the bathroom to dispose his wet belongings.
after cleaning himself up, he proceeded on dumping his dirty clothes in the washing machine a great one that is, it's making my work way easier.
then sasuke noticed a pile of sakura's clothes in the corner and he sighed; looks like she's been so busy she doesn't have the time on doing her laundry anymore.
separating the colored clothes to the noncolored ones, he started doing his tedious work of putting the right amount of soap.
after a series of blushing furiously seeing her undergarments, he finished his work and lets out a satisfied exhale.
~
he had folded their clothes and finished changing her bed covers, dumping the dirty bed covers in the machine as well.
sasuke looked at the wall clock that says it's past midnight already and she hasn't come home yet.
is the hospital short-staffed? she should be home and resting now.
he wanted to wait for her and see her so he forgone sleeping and decided to just read while waiting for her.
the machine alerted him that it's done with its job and sakura's still not yet home.
he was about to march out of the apartment to get her when the door busted open, revealing an exhausted but still has the ability to look beautiful, sakura.
"sasuke-kun!" her eyes widened as soon as she spotted the lone figure standing in front of her. "i didn't know you'd be here, i shouldn't have worked overtime and accompany you instead!"
"no, it's quite alright. but you should stop overworking yourself" he stepped closer to her and reached out for her face, craddling her softness in his calloused palm.
he noticed the bags under her eyes and frowned.
"i'm okay"
she smiled up at him, reassuring him.
"i'll be extending my stay here in konoha to look after you"
he watched in satisfaction as her pale face bloomed in a pretty shade of pink.
"but, i don't want to impose! don't worry yourself about me, i'm alright"
"does that mean you don't want me here?" he quirked an eyebrow at her, teasing and he smirked when she sputtered and turned even more red.
"i mean, of course i want you here... with me" she whispered.
"good" he smiled softly and his heart did a somersault when she hugged him tight, resting her head on his chest, just where his heart resides.
sasuke, moved in with sakura after that night. though, he's practically living with her ever since he came home crashing in her couch whenever he's in konoha.
but this is different, he mused.
he's living with her under the same roof, and sleeping with her in the same bed.
and it's more wonderful.

sssnippetaday: 10 Things I Hate About You
prompt from: @.SSdailyprompts
"sakura" sasuke's quiet voice flitted through the darkness of their room. after a long day of work they've retired to their bed for their much needed rest.
sakura looked at her husband, though she cannot see that much in the darkness, she knows that he's looking at her with those mismatched gaze of his which she loves so much.
sakura smiled and turned to fully face him, reaching out her hand to touch his face gently. he's much closer than she thought and warmth bloomed in her chest at his clinginess.
the comfortable silence seemed to drag on and she let him take his time to voice out his inner thoughts.
after a little while, she felt his arm draped around her waist and sakura sighed in his familiar embrace.
"is there anything on your mind, anata?" she asked.
"may i know..."
"hmm?" sakura ran the pad of her thumb on his soft cheek.
she heard him sigh, she could already hear the gears in his mind working.
"may i know if there's anything you hate about... me?"
...
sakura blinked owlishly up at him and lets out an unladylike snort.
"sasuke-kun, i don't have a reason to hate you"
"i don't believe you"
"no, really. i love you so much that i can't think of anything to hate about you"
"sakura, i understand if you're just saying this to ease my mind but surely there are times that you hated something about me"
"anata, hate is such a strong word to use. i would never hate you, i have never hated you even that time when..." flashbacks of their dark past played on her mind and she quickly shut it out.
she sighed "i'd never hate you.. but i was hurt"
sasuke moved and hugged her tightly, burrying his face on her neck and inhaling her sweet scent.
he should have expected this response from her, she's always been like this since the very beginning. caring, soft, warm, and she's always wearing her heart on her sleeve.
she's the spring that his life always needed but chose to ignore and threw away.
now that they're together he promised to the heavens that he would never hurt her again.
his heart felt full since the day he acknowledged his feelings to her.
"why did you ask such thing, anata?"
she placed a kiss on his temple.
"the dobe told me to ask you about the 10 things we hate about each other, he said it'll help strenghten our bond" he murmured.
"what do you hate about me then?" she giggled and hugged him tighter.
"nothing, except that one time you accidentally hit me with chakra laden fist"
her girlish giggles echoed inside their room, it only stopped when he starts kissing her deeply and her giggles turned into a loud cries of pleasure.

nejisakusnippet
neji has always liked how inviting sakura's presence is, it was almost everything about her screams warmth and peace.
one day neji got home from a mission-exhausted and in need of rest-he was greeted by his wife's gentle humming coming from their home's engawa.
he followed her voice, his shoulders slowly letting go of its stiffness the closer he gets to her. sakura's humming stopped when she feels his presence, she placed her book down beside the tea she prepared and quickly made her way to her husband.
"neji! you're home!" she smiled at him whilst she took on his appearance for any injuries, walking closer to him.
"i am" he breathed, looking at her with the softest eyes a hyuuga could do and once her warmth surrounded him, his exhaustion ebbed away.
"don't worry, i have no injuries" he reassured her once worry clouded her pretty features. "i'm simply exhausted from my travel" he added.
"alright, come here" she turned around and resumed to her spot on their engawa, overlooking their home's koi pond. sakura kneeled and looked up at him before patting her thighs.
neji just simply smiled and followed his wife's wishes. sometimes her fretting over his well-being is adorable, most of the time he still feels like he's not worthy of her affections. though, they've talked about this countless of times over the years they are together.
he laid his head down on her thigh and sighs, she'll get mad at him once she learned about his thought process right now.
he doesn't want that, and so he lets himself succumbed to the bliss that is her, sakura, his wife.
the feel of her fingers combing his long hair combined with her humming, made his heart feel so light.
even though they are already married for years, he still cannot believe it.
all those mutual pining, secret dates and shy touches when they were young seems only like yesterday.
now, they are here, he is here, finally finding something that made his whole life worth it.

sssnippetaday: "You're A Terrible Cook"
prompt from twitter: @.SSdailyprompts
They had just finished their Land of Waves mission, their first ever mission that shook Sakura to her very core. It was gruesome, unrelenting, and very scary indeed, she doesn't have any idea how many times the thought of them three dying young have crossed her mind.
Despite finally feeling like a real shinobi that she is, she won't lie, she had second thoughts in her chosen profession but seeing her precious teammates fight, it gave her a renewed vigor on what she is meant to become.
She'll become the greatest kunoichi her village ever had.
But first, in order for her to achieve that, she needs to eat a delicious but healthy meal!
She walked a little faster towards Naruto's home, she promised him (whether he likes it or not) that she'll include him in her healthy diet. Sasuke-kun too, also Kakashi-sensei... 'shannarooo, how did I ended up with the most stubborn teammates ever? Whatever, at least Sasuke-kun's almost with me everyday'.
When she arrived at her blonde teammate's door she forgone knocking and shook his doorknob instead "Naruto! Open up!"
"Hey, Sakura-chan" he yawned annoyingly wide.
"Ugh! Naruto! Ew!" she whined and giggled after he smiled sheepishly at her.
"Anyway! Do we have a mission, Sakura-chan?"
Sakura walked past him and placed her grocery bags on the table, she looked around and nodded to herself. 'He's cleaning his own home now, albeit not entirely' last weekend Sakura cleaned his apartment and made sure that he learned how to clean by himself, and she did a pretty good job! 'I deserve a pat on my back'
"I'm here to cook lunch for you, Sasuke-kun, and Kakashi-sensei! You can go now and get them, Naruto" he smiled at him, Naruto made a face of complaint but quickly relented anyway.
Sakura on the other hand, started her chopping and cooking whilst he's gone to fetch their teammates. She made sure to add all the ingredients that their body needs. Humming to a tune under her breath, Sakura continued on cooking. Her teammates sure are taking their time on their way here…
This specific meal is the best for a shinobi's health the book in the library says exactly so and eating this meal twice every week will help every shinobis to get stronger and better. 'Exactly what I need'
When Sasuke stepped inside the dobe's apartment a sickening smell welcomed them, they stopped on their tracks and looked at each other. Kakashi-sensei shrugged his good shoulder and Naruto's eyes were wide.
"What's going on?" he whispered near Naruto's ear and he slowly turned his head to face him, a hint of horror clouded his usually jovial face.
"S-sakura-chan said she'll cook us lunch"
The three of them gulped hard at what this stench implies.
"Oh no..." Kakashi-sensei exhaled.
The sound of feet pattering on the wooden floor towards them made the three of them freeze on the spot.
"You're here!" Sakura's cheerful voice broke them in their horrid trance. Sasuke looked at her pretty face, she's glowing, obviously happy and smiley because of her job well done. He sighed before toeing his sandals off his feet.
'I guess it would be disrespectful to refuse. Besides, she looks so happy right now... it suits her so much when she's like this'
The four of them sat on Naruto's dining table, and in front of them is a dish... a greeny dish, thick and gooey meal. Sakura's smiling at them, waiting for them to make a move and start eating. After a little while, when none of them moved her smile dropped and Sasuke abruptly dug into his food.
Bitter taste immediately filled his mouth, and he tried hard not to grimace. Sakura's looking at him expectantly, waiting for his comment.
"It's good" he whispered under his breath. His pink-haired teammate squealed in delight and a small smile graced on his face. Naruto saw this and thought that he smiled because Sakura's cooking is actually delicious so he also starts eating.
A choking sound broke Sasuke and Sakura's staring contest and there they saw Naruto gasping dramatically and Sasuke wilted on his seat. He casted a glance on Sakura and he saw a vein popping on her forehead.
"NA-RU-TO!"
"SAKURA-CHAN! I'M SORRY BUT YOU'RE A TERRIBLE COOK!"
Kakashi-sensei laughed good naturedly and Sasuke sighed 'here they go again'.
The sound of screaming and kitchen utensils clanging filled their afternoon and Sasuke couldn't help but secretly smile in adoration at his team.

Every time AO3 makes an update, there’s a chorus of ‘and can we please please please be able to leave kudos on each chapter pleeeeease?!?!’
In theory, this is a nice idea. We’ve all smashed the kudos button on our favourite fics, bemoaning the fact we can’t give them all the love.
But ya’ll, kudos per chapter would absolutely fucking suck.
For readers, it would suck because it would compound the existing problem of making it hard to find fics that are good and not just long - not that a fic can’t be both! But there are plenty of Pulitzer-worthy one-shots out there that are buried way way down the list when ranked by number of kudos, because they’re beneath a bunch of 50/? fics where the author lost sight of where the hell the story was going 30 chapters ago, but their fic has had 50x the chances to be viewed so has more kudos. It would encourage authors to release their fics in lots of little chapters instead of a few longer ones/one-shots as they might otherwise have done (and as might otherwise suit the story).
And for authors it would especially suck, as it would compound the existing problem of people not commenting. Kudos are very much appreciated, but comments make an author’s day; but so few people bother, and frankly, it’s disheartening. Let people just click a button to show their appreciation for each new chapter? The hits:kudos:comments ratio would get even worse than it already is.
You can already ‘give kudos’ for each chapter of a fic on AO3 - by commenting. Hell you can literally write ‘kudos!’ It will make the author smile, I promise.
