there’s a peaceful protest happening! it’s called project mailstorm. we want to flood the white house, and representatives mailboxes because they’re forced to open each one.
you can either send actual letters asking for change, or send literal junk mail or postcards with simple declarations on them!
the request is for every person to send one letter a week, but you can also send in bulk.
visit projectmailstorm.org!!
this is an important way for disabled people to protest!!!
here are some phrases that i used! i just cut 4-5 pieces of cardstock in 4ths and then used sharpie to write on them
free ice prisoners
defund ice
defund the DOD
keep public lands free
impeach trump
free palestine
literally no one likes you
booooo!
don’t be all uncool
protect the constitution
fight fascism
no kings
love not war
no human is illegal
stop gun violence
and some that other ppl suggested:
racism is small dick energy
fuck off
we each have a voice
we are here
ew, donald
you’re killing us
you’re doing a trash job

I met an older nb queer (I estimate early 50s) at the club last night. It was a religious experience. We talked about mushrooms, AIDs, and Terry Gilliams movies.
They told me about identifying as a sissy when they were a kid because that was the only term they had for an effeminate man. We talked about gender and the way the world has changed then they passed me a very strong joint.
As the night wore on they leaned over and told me how good it was to meet a butch for the first time in a long time. They told me that when they were 16 and sneaking out of the house to go to gay bars the butches were the ones who took them in.
I had to hold back tears in the club.
There are futures for all of us. And if your future involves tophats with feathers, silly songs, and trippy jackets, then there's a future for you too.

I get really confused, and even angry sometimes at lower support needs people who don’t understand the true meaning of autonomy and when it comes to caregivers and guardianship.
I mentioned ONCE in a group about wanting to go into assisted living and looking into it. Immediately got dog piled by people saying to absolutely not go into assisted living because itd “take away my autonomy” and “I should just live with others for as long as possible.”
Assisted living, group homes, guardianship, whatever, can very much mean that someone actually GAINS autonomy. And independence. The goal is for quality of life. We should be focusing on quality of life instead of what YOU want. What YOU want as a lower support needs person because you’ve heard bad stories.
Higher support needs people often don’t get the decision. It’s life or death for them. Y’all HAVE to realize that.
Stop forcing your narrative on young higher support needs people who are looking into different options for their care. Yes. It’s SCARY to be put in a bad situation, but often times it’s trial and error for us. Y’all HAVE to realize that. We don’t have the privilege to pick and choose between if we just live independently or go in a group home. It’s group home, or death, or living in a fucked up, maybe even abusive situation already.
Stop it.

do movie and tv editors ever accidentally delete footage? do actors ever have to reshoot scenes if they can’t make do without? 😄

every 8 hours????? i’ve changed mine like probably 6 times in 9 years
Why "Universal" means "Equally bad."
So you go to the store to buy needles for your sewing machine. You are going to find one of two things: a few "Universal" needles, or a large section with dozens of needle types.
"None of these say my machine brand on them," you think. "What do these numbers mean?"
I'm here to help you out!
It turns out that needles for sewing machines have amazing specialties to help make the work easier.
Ball point/Jersey: these needles have a rounded 'ball' point so that they don't accidentally cut the threads in a knit fabric. Ever cut a thread in a sweater? We don't want that to happen in a knit fabric either. Knits are used for t-shirts, Sweatshirts and the like.
Sharp/Microtex Sharp: My Beloved. If you sew on any woven fabric, and see "puckers" along your seam, you're not using a Sharp needle. Developed for micro-textiles, these are brilliant for printed quilting cotton, satin, woven silk, and the like.
Jeans/Denim: larger eye, bladed tip. The Sharp is a stiletto; a Denim needle is a sword. The bladed tip makes it easier for your machine to power through densely woven fabrics like canvas, upholstery fabrics, brocade, and old-fashioned denim.
Stretch: this needle is designed to sew on Elastic fabrics with minimal skipped stitches. Spandex and Lycra can stretch so well that they're carried by the needle into the bobbin area of the machine, preventing the stitch from completing. Stretch needles pass through the fabric easier without punching holes.
Quilting: Yep! There's a needle for this! Great for piecing, these really shine while sewing through the layers of fabric and batting. They make free lotion quilting a lot easier, and you won't have to fiddle with the tensions as much!
Leather: perfect for Vinyl, pleather 'vegan' leather, actual leather, and suede, this needle is like a Denim needle with a twist; a twisted blade, that is. It makes a perfectly round hole to prevent the dreaded "Tear along the dotted line" effect.
Metallic: yes, all needles are made of metal, but this type is gentle to metallic threads for decorative work.
Topstitch: this needle has an extra large eye and groove to accommodate heavier threads. Great for high-contrast visible topstitching with heavier threads.
There are others, but this is a good place to start. "Universal" needles don't have any of the specialized features listed above. They aren't sharp, aren't ball-pointed either. They have an average sized eye and groove.
They will sew. They will form a stitch, and they can be a lifesaver when you're not sure what kind of needle to use because you're sewing with more than one challenging fabric simultaneously. However, they aren't "good at" anything. They're kind of "equally bad" at everything.
Do yourself and your sewing machine a favor: Use the right needle for the right project.
One final pro tip: change your needle every 8 hours or so of actual sewing, or at the beginning of every major project.

i have always had a problem with this idea, including glorifying physical injuries too. like claiming physical injuries for some reason heal and resolve easier then mental illness. like chronically ill ppl can just go to the doctor, get treatment and heal, when that’s rarely the case. stand with us, not above us (which i don’t think ppl realize is what they’re doing when they dismiss physical illness to validate mental illness)
once again asking anti-psych comrades not to glorify medicine/doctors/etc in the process of criticising psychiatry/psychiatrists/etc. mistreatment, misdiagnosis, forced medical interventions, removal of autonomy, etc are all problems that physically disabled people very much also experience. yes, psychiatry and medicine are not identical systems and they carry different problems to each other. but before claiming that anything is unique to the psychiatric system please talk to someone with medical trauma. because I can promise you that doctors have just as much institutional power and they can (and do) weaponise it against their patients

Absolutely, leave fluttershy alone, i think she’s perfect 🥹 I really love her storyline and i think it speaks to a lot of people because of its subversiveness
okay listen up people I am TIRED of seeing people redesign flutter shy as an earth pony and pinkie as a pegasus when their reasoning for doing so is “oh they don’t make sense as a pegasus/earth pony” like that isn’t the entire point? They are subverting the expectations of their species. Fluttershy doesn’t fly as much as Pegasi normally does. Pinkie pie isn’t grounded like other earth ponies are. Isn’t that the entire point of their characters? It’s what makes them more interesting: a Pegasus finding interest in the earth and land animals and an earth pony finding interest in all things chaos and moving, never knowing how to slow down. If you make the choice of swapping what kind of pony they are it’s your choice and I respect that but I do wish people would recognize this more often than not.

Was anyone else obsessed with MLP FiM Season 5 ep. 24, The Mane Attraction???
Specifically Countess Coloratura 😍
I love both her initial style, and both different songs. I just KNOW I roleplayed as Ra-Ra so many times after watching that 😅
And some of my early songwriting was definitely inspired by her songs. Tbh they were also just MLP style songs fs.

i wish writers could sketch our ideas for stories like you can when drawing. like lightly pencilling in the basic shape and then going over it to darken and detail.
with creative writing you have to write out actual words for the entire thing, and add all the details up front and then go back and do it all again to change it
