Hooked Heart pt6

It has been a month since Hook was sent to prison. Everything in Neverland had gotten better especially with crime rates going down. Ruby was now pacing in her flat. She had closed her bakery today because she was deciding to go through with her idea to reform Hook today or put it off a little longer. After a while, Ruby grabbed some paper and a pen and started to write a letter.

Hook,

You probably wonder why i am writing to you, especially since i happened to help Peter Pan, Wendy, and Tinkerbell put you in prison. For the record, all your actions have consequences and you are making the first steps in paying them. Have you ever considered trying to change yourself to be a better man? Power can give you a lot, but it can also corrupt. What you did with the power you had was wrong. You could have ensured that technology is available to everyone and kept the corrupt in line. Not cause mass chaos! Yes you had lived with chaos through your life while trying to maintain your idea of order, but keeping that mindset now doesn’t help you at all. You are stuck in a hole, Hook. Let me help you find a way out. Give you chance to start over. I sent you a curry bun with this letter. I recall you ordering it from my bakery a while ago before this all happened. Give you a small break from prison food.

Consider my words carefully, Captain.

Ruby Heart

Ruby sealed the letter and addressed it to the prison with Hook’s name on it. She made a fresh curry bun and placed it in a to go container and place it in a delivery box. Casting a spell to preserve it until Hook opens and eats it, Ruby attached the letter to the box and had it delivered to the prison. Two weeks later, Ruby had received a letter from the prison. She opened it and read:

Miss Heart,

You are right to assume that i was not expecting to receive anything from you. What do you mean about me not using the power i had collected unwisely? I did what i believed to be best for Neverland. There is nothing wrong with my mindset, but i doubt you see that. Thank you for the curry bun. It definitely was a nice reprieve from the food i am given here.

Ruby scowled at the letter and immediately went to write a new one.

Hook,

Saying technology is only for the privileged? It was not the right thing to do! Have you noticed that the privileged has caused more harm than good in Neverland? I have since i have grown up seeing it happen in my homeland. Your mindset makes you tyrannical in a way and what you did proves it! Please heed my words Captain. Hear me out and actually look over and pass the wall you figuratively built around yourself. i’m sending you some homemade meat pies that i created to be eaten while walking around and with your hands. Please Hook! Please hear my words and please hear me out!

i’m begging you to listen Captain James Hook!

Ruby Heart

After sending the letter and some homemade meat pies, she received a reply in only two words:

I’m listening.

After that, Ruby and Hook would be in constant correspondence with Ruby sending food and snacks she makes in the bakery. Her alchemy skills come into play with the food to help Hook see things more clearly and actually begin to change. Three months later, Ruby was working in the bakery when the postman delivered a small package to her.

Ruby: i didn’t order anything.

Postman: was told to bring it here. Have a good day.

When the postman left, Ruby eyed the package and opened it. Inside was a beautiful necklace with a pendant of a red ruby heart surrounded by sapphire flames. There was a note underneath it and Ruby gently removed it out from beneath the necklace.

To the Heart whose flames touched my own. Captain J. Hook

Ruby gasps softly and placed the note down. She hears customers come in and overhear the conversation they were having.

Hook was out of prison and on probation.

Ruby folded and placed the note in her pocket and put on the necklace. She smiled at the customers and filled their orders while her mind was on Hook.

Weeks go by and Ruby is sent random gifts from Hook: charm bracelet with a hook, heart, sword, and fairy; a red scarf made to look similar to a pirate’s flag but with a hook through the heart instead of the traditional skull and crossbones; and a diadem that was black with red rubies and blue sapphires adorning it.

She would receive little notes about how she captured his heart and how he is the true treasure he has been seeking. One day, Ruby was cleaning the bakery, getting ready to close up for the night when she heard the door open.

Ruby: We are closed.

Something cold with a sharp point touched her shoulder softly and she froze.

Hook: I know, but i wanted to see you regardless.

Ruby stopped cleaning and gently lifted the hook off her shoulder and looked at Hook. She was wearing the necklace, never taken it off since Hook sent it to her. Hook noticed and smirks.

Hook: You seem to like my gifts.

Ruby: Can’t help it if i thought they are lovely. Heard you got probation?

Hook: i have. As long as i cooperate with Pan and the police, i can roam around as long as i don’t cause trouble.

Ruby: How long is your probation?

Hook: 5 years, but if i continue to be behaved it will be reduced to being off it sooner.

Ruby, still holding his hook, steps into his space. She gives him a soft smile.

Ruby: So what now?

Hook takes his free hand and place it on her cheek, a genuine, gentle smile on his face.

Hook: I would like to court you properly, if you would have me.

Ruby gives a small laugh.

Ruby: I would love that.

Hook leans down to Ruby while she leaned up to him. The two met each other in a deep kiss.

Hooked Heart pt.5

Couple weeks later, Ruby was working in her bakery once more when all of a sudden she can hear arguments and honking outside. She headed to the front window and peered outside. It was pure chaos! Traffic everywhere, nobody able to access anything…pure chaos! Ruby noticed a billboard had changed and it showed Hook saying technology was only for the privileged. Without a second thought, she locked down her bakery and went to her flat. She used hair dye remover to remove the extra red in her hair, to reveal natural blue streaks she inherited from her dad Hades. she changed into an outfit similar to her Rebel days in Wonderland, except it went more like a Rogue. Having her magic cards on her, Red used her powers to shadow travel to the roof and called Peter, Wendy, and Tink. Luckily they answered on the first ring.

Ruby: I suspect you guys know what’s happening.

Peter: We do. We are on our way.

Wendy: did you dye your hair?

Ruby: No, i undyed it. the blue streaks are natural. I will meet you guys at Hook’s tower.

Ruby hangs up and use her Wonderland magic to turn one of her magic cards into a flying hover board. She got on and flew off to Hook’s tower. Reaching the roof, Ruby disembarks turn the card back to normal and stowing it back in its deck. she hides in the shadows using her inherited powers from her father, making her blend into the shadows flawlessly. (A/N: the video is down below!) After waiting a few minutes, Hook walks onto the roof with a sword at the ready. Peter sneaks up behind them, but Ruby wasn’t close enough to hear what words they had exchanged with each other. She watch Hook attack and Peter try to repel him, then sees Wendy appear and call for Peter. Hook goes after Wendy, but Ruby threw one of her magic cards and created a shield in front of Wendy, protecting her. Ruby steps out of the shadows, her red and blue hair flickering like flames and eyes glowing purple from the combination of powers she inherited from both her parents.

Ruby: Attack a defenseless woman? I will not stand for that.

Peter and Wendy: Ruby!

Hook: Well, if it isn’t Ruby Heart, baker extraordinaire. You are more than what you seem.

Ruby: I won’t let you get away with what you did to the city and for trying to harm my friends.

Ruby drew two more magic cards and used them to make daggers. She expertly swung and twirl them around before getting into a battle stance.

Ruby: Wendy, stay behind the shield! Peter, i got your back!

Peter and Ruby teamed up against Hook. Hook fought, getting angry at the team up. He pushed Peter away and Peter was about to slide off the roof. Ruby threw another magic cards and it became a barricade between Peter and the roof’s edge. She then went at Hook, daggers swinging while her hair started to look more like red and blue flames and her eyes glowing more purple due to her getting pissed off.

Ruby: You pirate!!

Hook blocked her attacks, amused and intrigued by her reaction and skill.

Hook: A baker that knows magic and fighting with daggers. Who are you Ruby Heart?

Ruby: Someone capable to send your soul to the Underworld!

The two fought, Peter joining a moment later. Ruby and Peter were soon thrown off, Peter losing his sword and Ruby’s daggers being destroyed. She converted them back to cards and stood in front of Peter, protecting him.

Hook: You have no other weapons, my dear. What can you possibly use to defend yourself and him?

Ruby pulls out her deck of magic cards and begins to shuffle them before doing tricks woth them to show how efficient she is with her powers. With a wave of her hands, her cards glowed red and blue as the formed a floating heart behind her back.

Ruby: Never mess with the Hearts!

Suddenly, Peter and Wendy’s car show up and you can see Tink was inside. Wendy gets in the car and soon you saw holographic clocks surrounding Hook making ticking noises.

Peter: Does this remind you of something, Hook? Tell us how you lost your hand?

A hologram of a ginormous crocodile came out and scared Hook into hiding. You screamed and fell flat on your butt.

Ruby: Peter! Wendy! Tink! Wendy get out of the car with Tink and help Peter up.

Wendy: Sorry Ruby, but we didn’t have time to warn you.

Peter: At least it made Hook back off.

Ruby looks to another part of the roof.

Ruby: Let’s get to the control tower and shut this operation down.

The four of them left Hook and the car to head to the control room. Once inside, Peter restored everything to the way it was in the city. As the four about to leave, Ruby noticed Hook driving off in their car. It wasn’t until you all were back in the streets is when she asked why they let Hook drive off…only to find out they programmed the car to bring Hook directly to prison. Ruby joined in the celebrations with her friends now that the city was free.

Later that night, Ruby couldn’t sleep. She had Hook on her mind again. He has so much potential to truly help the city, but his pride prevented him from truly changing. Ruby then had an idea. She will wait a few days before acting on it, but it might work.

Ruby Heart plans to reform Captain Hook.

Hooked Heart pt4

A month has passed and Ruby has been busy. WonderTreats has been a hit and those who attended Hook’s meeting when she provided catering had her cater to their events. Today she was closing early to celebrate her birthday. Peter, Wendy, and Tink invited her over to visit so they can celebrate with her. As she finished the final baked goods of the day, she gets a phone call.

Ruby: Hello, WonderTreats! Ruby Heart speaking? Yes i can do a last minute delivery. Okay…two curry bun and a Flamingo Cupcake…alright, name please? James Hook…will deliver the food soon. 30 minutes…Have a good day!

Ruby hangs up phone and runs a hand through her hair. Ruby: Hook?! Why me?!?!

Ruby went about preparing and making the order. As the curry bun cooked, Ruby packaged a Flamingo Cupcake and placed them in a paper bag. with the curry bun done, she placed them in a to-go container and put them in the paper bag as well. Ruby made sure everything was locked up before leaving the bakery. Instead of the car, she took her red motorcycle and held the food in her lap as she carefully rode through the city. Pulling up to Hook’s Tower, Ruby sighed and got off her bike with the food. She enters the lobby and looked around.

Ruby: Hello! I’m here to deliver an order for James Hook!

An elevator opened and Ruby looked at it cautiously. She carefully went inside of the paper bag of food and was soon heading to the floor that Hook was on. Stepping out when the elevator stopped, Ruby looked around to see it was an office. She goes and place the bag on the desk and turns to leave…

only for Hook to appear behind her!

Ruby: Oh my gosh!

Hook: Sorry, my dear. I thought you heard me.

Ruby: No sir. i was just dropping off the food.

Hook: I see. Are you the one who owns the bakery who cater my last meeting?

Ruby: Yes sir. Hope everything was okay.

Hook: Everything was delicious. Have you been in Neverland long.

Ruby: Just close to two months, sir.

Hook: I see. Well, welcome to my city and enough with the ‘sir’ nonsense. Call me either Hook or James.

Ruby: it would be unprofessional of me to do that sir.

Ruby then moves around him to leave. Hook uses his hook to block her.

Hook: What’s the rush, my dear? Why not stay?

Ruby blushed a little.

Ruby: I have other obligations to attend to today sir. i need to get going.

Ruby gently pushed the hook down and walked towards the elevator. She pressed the button and waited.

Hook: where are you heading?

Ruby: A friend’s home to celebrate my birthday with some of them.

The elevator opens and Ruby steps inside.

Ruby: Have a good one, sir.

Hook: Happy Birthday…Ruby.

Ruby blushed again as the elevator doors shut and descended to the ground floor. She got out and almost ran out of the tower. Ruby mounted her motorcycle and took off. Her feelings are conflicted: Hook is a bad guy…yet he wanted her to stay. She shouldn’t have feelings for him…but has a crush on him.

Ruby headed to see Peter, Wendy, and Tink. Her mind and heart warring with each other.

Hooked Heart pt3

A week later Ruby was pulling up in her delivery car to Hook’s tour. She got out and locked her car before entering the lobby. There was no one there until someone came towards her.

Person: Hello, are you the caterer?

Ruby: Yes sir. i have the food outside. May i have some help bringing it all in.

Person: Of course. Let me message the servers to come and help.

Ruby smiled and head back outside. She unlocked the car and popped her trunk, then opened the back seat. there are several metallic red, pink, and white platters stacked with meat filled sandwiches, savory crepes, and some dumplings in shape of a heart. There were also platters laden with many treats and goodies she offers at WonderTreats. Looking back, Ruby sees a lot of servers come out and approach her. Luckily she enchanted the platters to not be heavy so everyone can carry two at a time without problem.

Ruby: Here’s everything. Be mindful that they are lighter than they look. Everyone take two and bring them to the event to be set up.

Ruby hands the platters to the servers, giggling when they feel how light they were despite being packed with food. Once everyone grabbed two platters each, she grabbed the remaining two and followed the servers inside. Joining them in the service elevator, you took a deep breath as it ascends. it stopped on the floor of the meeting and you followed everyone out and helped set everything up, giving tips and advice as well so everything looks beautiful. The doors to the room opened and you turn to the servers.

Ruby: that’s my cue. Everything else is up to you guys.

She turned and headed to the server elevator. As she was leaving, Ruby accidentally bumped into someone.

Ruby: i am so sorry!

Looks at the person and sees…Hook.

Hook: It’s fine, my dear. Are you the caterer?

Ruby: Yes sir. Hope you enjoy the food sir.

Ruby left him and went to the elevator. She didn’t show any emotion until she got in her car.

Ruby: Why does he have to be even more handsome in person?!

Ruby definitely has a crush on the Neverland villain. She hopes to not see him again or it will be harder for her to control her emotions like before. Ruby drives away, Hook still on her mind, back towards the bakery and home.

Meanwhile, Hook watched her drive off from the window.

Hook: A baker like her exists…she’s interesting.

Hook turns back to the meeting and the food. Yet Ruby still lingered in his mind.

Hooked Heart pt2

Ruby Heart had been living in the alternate dimension for a month and runs a successful bakery called WonderTreats. She had sold her jewelry and opened the bakery that was under her flat in the building she had bought. Using her inventor skills, something she picked up from Mad Hatter, she built her own baking equipment and security systems. She used her skills as an alchemist, something inherited from her mom, to make her bake goods spread positivity, happiness, and love. Ruby was loving her new life and didn’t feel the need to be a Rebel here.

Until they came to her bakery.

The bakery had just opened and Ruby had finished putting out freshly baked Heart Donuts (shaped in a heart with a color scheme of red velvet donuts with pink and white frosting drizzled on top of it) and Flamingo Cupcakes(Not as strong as her mom used to make them when she was Ruby’s age, but still effective). A couple walked in and Ruby wouldn’t have thought anything of it…until she saw the robot fairy flitting around them.

The guy: Calm down, Tink. It looks great in here!

Ruby hid her shock behind a calm smile. This was this dimension’s Peter Pan, Wendy Darling, and Tinker Bell. She approached the counter.

Ruby: Hello, folks! Welcome to WonderTreats. How may i help-whoa! Tink had got up in her face and when she spoke, it was in a text bubble that Ruby can see.

Tink: You’re new!

Ruby: Yeah, i’m new to the city.

Tink: You’re different.

Ruby: Is that a problem?

Peter: No it isn’t. Sorry! That’s Tinker Bell. She likes to explore and see new people.

Ruby: Oh? Does that mean you guys are the famous Peter Pan and Wendy?

Wendy: Yes, heard about us?

Ruby: Who hasn’t? What can i get for you guys?

Peter and Wendy placed their orders. Ruby grabbed some to-go bags and placed one Heart Donut in one bag and White Rabbit Donut(vanilla donut with white frosting and coconut flakes with designs to make the outside look like a white rabbit) in the other. Tink followed Ruby around asking what kind of goods were out and she told her. Ruby handed the bags to Peter and Wendy. As she rang them up, Tink sees one of Red’s special cards poking out of her pocket. Tink takes it out and throws it up and it gets big as a wall. Ruby whips around and waves her hand to turn it back to a normal card. She catches it and puts it back in her pocket before looking sheepishly at the couple.

Ruby: Uh….

Peter: What was that?!

Ruby sighs.

Ruby: I am from a place called Wonderland. My mother is a tyrannical queen and i had to escape when my baby sister, Red, warned me of the loveless arranged marriage that mother put me in. My friend and Uncle figure, Maddox Hatter, invented a way to help me escape and now i am here. What i just did was Wonderland magic. I have other powers too, especially from my dad.

Wendy: what did you do in Wonderland for fun if your mother was a tyrant?

Ruby: I was the Rebel. I caused havoc on her reign and helped smuggle civilians out of the land.

Peter: Did you use weapons to fight bad guys?

Ruby: Daggers.

The couple asked Ruby questions and she answered as best as she could. They exchanged numbers and she gained new friends. Tink even gave her face a hug before they left. The day continued as normal. Before the day ended, you got a call from the bakery’s phone.

Ruby: Hello! This is WonderTreats, where everything is sweet! Ruby speaking! Yes we do cater. Yes we sell savory pastries and sandwiches.

Goes to grab an order sheet and starts writing it all down.

Ruby: Alright, any allergies i need to be aware of? No nuts and no gluten, got it! Name and address? okay… address is done. may i have a name? James…Hook?!

Ruby almost dropped the phone. She had been asked to provide catering to an important business meeting by Captain Hook at his tower.

Hooking the Heart(Pt.1)

(AN: do this is a HookXOC pairing, but here’s more context. so a while backnone of my favorite actors, Neil Newbon, did a KIA add where he played Captain Hook in a futuristic Neverland. I think they called it Peter Returns, they have Neil as thumbnail. Anyway my OC is from the Descendants Universe(look it up it’s Disney) as the older sister of Red(D4), named Ruby Heart. She’s also the older sister to Mal due to Hades being Ruby’s dad. As to how Ruby and Neil!Hook meet…well let’s get part 1 started to find out.)

Ruby Heart, Eldest Daughter of the Red Queen of Hearts of Wonderland, one of Hades Children, Favored sibling of Red Heart… and a Rebel. Growing up, Ruby was forced to do things she didn’t want to do under her Mother’s orders. The Queen tried to make Ruby her heir by making Ruby like her, but Ruby never stuck to it. At 13, she started to rebel: going out wearing a mask and a special red leather jacket, she caused trouble for her mother’s tyrannical rule at night. When Red was born, Ruby helped Red preserve her independence behind their mother’s back. when Red was 15 and Ruby 25, the Red Queen arranged a loveless marriage for Ruby. That’s where our story starts!

Ruby had woke up late, spending the night smuggling innocents out of Wonderland into Auradon. Her long time friend and uncle figure, Maddox “Mad” Hatter, had been helping her like he has been to make sure she was never caught. As she stretched in bed, Ruby’s door burst open and Red came running in, looking panicked.

Red: Ruby!

Ruby: Red, what’s wrong?

Red: You have to leave Wonderland. Mother arranged a loveless marriage for you to a stranger!

Ruby: *look shocked* What?!

Red: Please! You got to get out of here!

Ruby: I can’t leave you behind!

Red: You have to! You have taught me to be myself and always protected me. Let me protect you! i talked to Maddox, he has a way to get you far from here.

Ruby gets up and quickly dresses in her rebel clothes, but doesn’t don the mask and jacket. Instead she gave them to Red.

Ruby: I did teach you what i know so it’s time to pass the mantle of the Rebel to you.

Red: Ruby…

Ruby: *grabs a bag and starts stuffing money, jewelry, and clothes into it* Red, i have been doing that since i was 13. You are older than i was when i did so. You can do this! *close bag and shoulder it. Ruby looks to Red* Just be careful and know i will always return if you ever truly need me.

Red runs forward and hugs her older, favorite sister. Ruby hugs her tightly, conveying all her love and joy she has for her baby sister.

Ruby: Maddox will look after you while i am gone. He may be a Mad Hatter, but he is a good man.

Red: Love you Ruby.

Ruby: Love you more Red.

Red runs out and close the bedroom door. Ruby uses her powers she inherited from Hades:traveling through shadows without detection until she got to Mad Hatter’s workshop. Ruby looked around to see Maddox waiting for her with some kind of device.

Ruby: Red gave you the heads up i hear.

Maddox: i had a feeling something might happen so i invented this a while ago. *holds up what looks to be a dial in the shape of a star* By turning the Star Dial, you will open a door between here and another dimension. In this dimension, you will be safe from your mother’s clutches and that dreadful marriage.

Ruby: *Smiles* These are things that dub you Mad, Hatter. *take Star Dial* I’m guessing you hope i find a husband too? *seeing his smile, Ruby laughed* Of course you do!

Maddox: Be safe Ruby. I will do my best to keep Red safe, i promise. *hugs her*

Ruby: *hugs back* Thanks uncle. Stay strong and smart.

Ruby leaves the hug and steps away. She turns the Star Dial and watch in amazement as it glows brighter and brighter as it begins to hover as it spins. It turns into a glowing portal and Ruby tightens her grip on her bag. She jumps through…and appears in a future like city surrounded by technology. The portal closed and turned back into the Star Dial. Ruby catches it and stows it in the bag. She started to walk towards the nearest building to gather information. Looking up she sees holographic billboards showing news and ads. The name of one news channel caught her eye: Neverland News. She was in a future like version of Neverland!

Ruby continued to walk through the city, trying to find a place to sell her jewelry when a report on who is this dimension’s Hook shows up with a video of the man. Ruby looks at this dimension’s Hook…

Ruby: Damn! Why is he so handsome?!

Ruby couldn’t help but stare. This Hook seems more badass, charismatic, and handsome than the one from her dimension. Her heart did flips and she blushed.

Ruby: Focus Heart! you have plan! complete it first!

Ruby continued through the city to find a pawn shop or jewelers to sell the jewelry so she has more money. Despite her goal, the Princess of Wonderland can’t shake the infamous Neverland Pirate Captain from this dimension out of her head.
