“Bon. I imagine the tour should take about an hour. Do you charge hourly?” Eyes squinting, calculating. She must pay her fairly. A little weird instinct Justine has picked up through the years. And by weird we mean clearly influenced by French protesting.
Justine doesn’t respond yet. Just stares at Xochitl silently, neutral. It’s fun to make people nervous for a moment. “Non.”
She really doesn’t have anything on her face, but suddenly she’s aware that Xochitl sniffed. “... Can you smell me from there?”
“Cash only.” A sniff, wondering just how much Tecate Justine could afford–“I take USD and euros.” Because they’re worth more than her peso, she can buy a nice new bike with that money.
“If you weren’t staring, then I’m six feet tall.” And, well, Xóchitl is tragically, adorably, very much not six feet tall. She’s lucky to reach 5'5 in heels. “Do I have something on my face?” She was scarfing down some Duvalin earlier…

“What do you take your payment in? I usually give a bottle of Fleur Petrus, but you seem more a cerveza person. Or, euh… I can take you to one of my own museums one day. A bizarre one like the Absinthe museum. It’s very nostalgic, I like it.”
Justine purses her lips, silent. She was recently in a situation where she was reminded that flirting for sport isn’t always welcome, but she can’t bring herself to apologize for staring. Pride and an appreciation for beauty, one of the deadly sins. “I was not staring, en fait.” A shrug, as if Xochitl was making something out of nothing.
Xóchitl’s neck is prickling, and at first she thinks it’s a mosquito, but no, it’s just a frenchwoman.
“Pay me.” Straight to the point. Obviously, the only real guide in the world is her–But Xóchitl is also extremely tsundere (not that she knows what that is), and refuses to acknowledge that she and Justine are kind-of friends. Or at least civil with each other. “And stop staring.”

@fragmentmemories
In a just-slightly-too-warm summer’s day, Justine is perched on a seat next to the window. The wind gently lifts the curtains, and she props her chin on her palm, eyes on Xochitl. But her eyes rest there just a second too long for it to be casual. And after a moment, she says,
“I want to visit the Frida Kahlo museum, but I refuse to go if you’re not my guide.”

023., 015., 090.
015. Are they most likely to fight with their fists or their tongue?
100% tongues. I think she had stubbornly fought to learn how to use a sword before. But she just doesn’t enjoy physical fights much. ON THE OTHER HAND, she loves a good roasting session. Refer to this list of French insults and you’ll get part of her colorful language lmao.
Part of the reason she fights verbally too probably is... And this is vain, but she wants a pretty, elegant, dancer kind of body. She finds flaws attractive in others, less so in herself.
023. What do they consider beautiful in others physically?
Justine is very open minded on beauty! She loves unconventional beauty, like the kind you see on high fashion runways. Though unconventional doesn’t need to have high cheekbones or even be exactly beautiful to count. And she likes to share when she thinks someone is goodlooking, even platonically.
Besides unconventional beauty, she likes the little details. Moles, noses with bumps, overgrown eyebrows, etc. She even likes how a lot of older people look, seeing wrinkles as a kind of ‘line art’. So the short answer is that it’s so broad it’s hard to define LMAO. Though I think strong noses are one of the main features she notices.
090. How bodily expressive is your character?
Not in her arms and hands that much. But definitely in the face.  A favorite of hers is the “I don’t know and I don’t really care” from this blog.
She’s more likely to express discontentment than excitement.  But when she’s happy about something, it might be reserved to a “est bien, la” (it’s good here). Took that perspective from this interesting article about how French culture encourages more living in the present, as opposed in the future (where “excitement”comes from)

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH MY CHARACTER? (an ask game!)
Understanding a character’s flaws is key to making them well-rounded and believable, so send me a number (and a character, if there’s more than one option) and I’ll tell you:
a trait they have too much of  (ex. too much pride = arrogance)
a trait they don’t have enough of (ex. too little pride = insecurity)
a trait they express in the wrong way
a trait they’re ashamed of
a trait they’re not ashamed of (but maybe should be)
a bad habit
something they do that hurts themself
something they do that hurts others
a reason (or excuse) they haven’t improved on any of the above OR
a way that they are improving on any of the above!

Said During D&D Starter Meme
Wine isn’t flammable enough. You need vodka or something.
Am I allowed to dance on her grave?
Look, I’m all for destroying things, but…
Are you still on the ceiling?
Are you /more/ or /less/ undead than [name]?
If you’re still alive by then, go ahead.
I will explain nothing. You must discover.
I know it was rude, okay?
I’m not happy about this, okay? I don’t like hurting people!
How many miles per hour is that?
There’s blood everywhere!
What’s a good song for this situation?
Will you seek revenge?
This is a family-friendly establishment, sir.
This is the third time you’ve run away over the course of this fight, if you’re keeping track.
That doesn’t count as a costume, it’s just a hat.
He’s all talk. He’s never actually killed you.
Wait, do you not have any money?
Well, maybe the demon has devoured multiple people.
He is not a scaredy cat.
None of us came here to fight a vampire.
What happened? Where are you?
Who did she get murdered by?
The vampire killed her, but not with his mouth.
You killed her! You set the fire she died in!
Doesn’t he know that tweets can be 140 characters?
Are there any other figures of authority?
This entire town wants to kill me, so I owe them nothing.
Wolves aren’t necessarily considered townsfolk. Can they vote?
Who do you report to?
These people don’t like us.
I don’t know what we can even do to help them.
That’s not my name and you know it.
This is by far the worst contract I have ever been on.
Now everybody wants to steal!
I’m not a thief, I’m a lady. And an arsonist.
It’s a bonfire.
Is the frog a good guy or a bad guy?
I feel like we’ve accomplished nothing.

Justine smiles. “Mon cher, I never laugh at artists. I would be like the people who misjudged les impressionnistes if I did.” She did laugh at them, at first. But no on has to know that. Justine pulls up a chair, sits, and crosses her legs.  “I would love to be an audience to your concerto. Maybe I should have brought a couple of my own old paintings- tsé, to talk artist to artist.”

gildedscripture:
Ugh. This mirroring. It’s annoying. They’re not in a drama or thriller, it just comes off as excessive to Xóchitl. But she’ll say nothing, her pride and prejudice regarding the woman across from her is swallowed.
“He’s fifteen.” She begins, and at the thought of the boy, she can’t help but smile, “He’s stupid smart, and he knows it.” Xóchitl’s shoulders relax, then, her arms still crossed, but only loosely, “His French is good, but still elementary. I think he just needs more natural speakers around him.” Either that, or they have to spend more time in the capital. Ugh.
“Oh?” She remarks, dabbing a napkin to the side of her lips. “He’s lucky to have found you then. Hidden gems apply to people, too.” For someone so focused on egalitarian thinking, she became quickly aware of how pretentious that probably sounded. But she doesn’t bother with it further.
“What subjects does he like? Physics, politics...?” Justine settles into being more comfortably herself, her shoulders relaxing and mirrors closing. She just looks curious, now, crossing her legs for what could be a detailed conversation. “That’s no problem. I would bring him to the French embassy and see how they prepare him... Though, I do think he would benefit from seeing French universities in person. I can help arrange tours for him.”
