hi!!! I’m still doing my daily art challenge HOWEVER! I’m going to stop trying to do daily art when I work 5+ hours at my job! I’ve found I just cannot do it because I’m too beat, and I end up being disappointed over and over :(

I’ve also not really been focused of selling my art lately, I want to still, but I think it’ll come back more around May/June :)

Hi!! Day 2 of my trying to draw daily for a week (or more!) some black and gray!

Planned lino print! This will be my first ever print that is 2+ colors! I’m not sure if I’ll do a color for the background or not! I’m also not sure if I’ll have black outlines, I need to do some trouble shooting and think about it more :) if u have any suggestions lmk!

Hi!!! One of my posts just breached 100 notes omg thanks!!???

I wanted to pop on to do a little blog moment. My adhd affects my art a LOT. I dabble in just about everything! Unfortunately I’ve noticed that this actually affects my art negatively, I can’t 100% sink into any project because I’m juggling too many things :((

So I’m going back to my roots!! Zines. Lino prints. And stickers!! I’m gonna scale back a bit, likely put my jewelry for sale to get it outta my shop (and my physical room cause it’s kinda haunting me) and fully sink my teeth into zines!!

I might still do buttons, bottlecap or manufactured but I’m not sure as of right now! The next couple days I’m going to work on lino prints and zine formatting and share some of that with you!

This means btw if you like any of my buttons or jewelry you should snag soon!! I’ll be putting it for sale for a week or two and then likely keeping whatever’s left over for myself and giving to friends irl! So if u want it go get it!!!!

I’ve ALSO been wanting to get into YouTube more!! I’ve done some small videos here and there just for my online friends to show them my zines and stuff, but I wanna make actual entertaining informational videos about art and stuff !!!!! So I’ll maybe post about that too :3

Today is Sunday, I have no plans, so let's dye some wool!

This is 1kg roving, blended from local (well, national at least) sheep breeds, the shop I got this from calls this blend "polar wolf". This will eventually be plyed together with the green fleece I got for christmas; I hope the different sheep breeds will take on the dye in slightly different ways, making for a uniform, but not too uniform colour.

It's really pretty! Honestly too pretty to be dyed, but needs must.

Now we will need lots of green dye.

And a BIG pot.

This baby holds a bit over 20 liters. Which, as it turns out, is not enough.

Luckily I recently dedicated another Big Pot to dying experiments.

I had already put all the dye into the big pot, so I had to roughly estimate how much wool I had left. Let's hope the stark difference in saturation is mostly due to lighting and my phone camera not liking green tones.

Now it needs to simmer for an hour or so.

Okay, here's my first attempt at lino printing. Again, @shamedumpster thank you so much for your tips

This is the final result, and it's also the third attempt at printing it on the paper, as I kept missing the block somehow. I have no idea how but the paper kept slipping and I could never center it right. Below the first two print attempts

Okay, general thoughts:

1) I really like the uneven look of the ink in the blacked out parts, it makes every piece different even if it's printing

2) I loved carving it out, it was probably my favourite part

3) I know the text was basically a suicide mission but when it comes to art I like to metaphorically throw myself in the water to learn to swim

4) I don't know if it's because I was working with very cheap materials but putting the ink on the block was a nightmare, it just wouldn't stick

Overall I really liked it as a technique and I can't wait to get better at it :)
