Recently I watched the PBS documentary on Disney Legend Tyrus Wong, I was reminded of a meaningful moment of mine from two years ago — when I was honored the Grandest Vision artist by Disney in a global documentary series. Today, let me share it again. ✨

This experience opened a space for me to reflect not only on my own journey, but on the incredible lineage of artists who have shaped the creative world we live in. The painting I created was inspired by the Grand Villa unit, and it all began with Tyrus Wong’s ethereal Bambi concept paintings — a quiet yet powerful ripple that continues to inspire generations across animation, design, hospitality, and beyond.

As contemporary artists, we’re each a living thread in this ever-evolving tapestry. Our role is to create, to evolve, and to stay present — to carry forward the mission of those before us while illunimate the path for the next generation to keep turning dreams into reality.

Watching the PBS feature brought that full circle. It reminded me that we’re all part of something bigger — each of us a spark in the current of history, reflecting not just personal stories, but the greater movement of human creativity and connection.

Thank you to everyone who’s walked beside me on this path, and to the incredible team behind the documentary. I hope my little story might inspire you to dream big, trust your path, and keep creating from the heart. 💫

The orange sun simmers quietly within the frame,

while gold leaf glimmers—scattered candy from a melting sky.

White lines rise—sometimes as the tiptoe of a crane,

sometimes as moonlight folded in a bodhisattva’s robe.

And those black dots—

some call them ink-plum blossoms,

others, the seeds of stars.

When dusk drapes across the wall,

the whole painting begins to glow with a honeyed breath.

(Do you see fire spinning in stillness,

or a feather fallen from a passing god?)

Note:

To every quiet gazer,

a spoon of sweet wine—blended from pigment and heartbeat—

is silently offered.

And deep within your eyes,

an ancient bonfire crackles back to life.

About yesterday’s interview: First of all, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the hosts Pete and Jen for preparing the conversation so thoughtfully. Every slide, every question, every interaction was thoroughly researched and thoughtfully crafted, allowing us to delve into topics at an unprecedented depth. Today, I’m thrilled to finally share the full reveal of my stained glass piece debuting at the Epcot International Festival of The Arts: Enchanted Glass - Cinderella Castle — a celebration of the belief that dreams truly do come true. ✨

This artwork is deeply personal to me, as it reflects my own journey of turning dreams into reality. From being a little girl in China with a passion for art, to becoming a Disney artist, my path has been guided by a simple yet powerful belief: when you follow your heart and stay true to your dreams, anything is possible. 🌟

The decision to work with stained glass stemmed from a deep connection to the craft. I’ll never forget the first time I saw light streaming through a stained-glass window, filling the space with color and life. That moment filled me with peace and wonder, and I knew I had to learn this art. When I discovered that stained glass was becoming an endangered craft, I felt a responsibility to preserve it. That’s when I decided to bring it into my own work.

Collaborating with Disney on this piece has been an absolute dream come true, and I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity. Enchanted Glass blends my love for Disney with the timeless beauty of stained glass, creating something that is both familiar and new. It’s a piece I hope brings a bit of the magic we all need in our lives. 🎨

Looking ahead, my art will always carry one core mission: to inspire, heal, and connect through the love and energy I pour into every piece. My wish is to continue creating work that inspires others to align with their authentic selves, believe in their dreams, as I have—and to share a little light and magic along the way. 💖

Around the age of 10, I first watched "The Little Mermaid." Growing up in a landlocked city, the captivating underwater world from the film ignited my imagination. The ocean became a symbol of boundless possibilities for me. Ariel's courage in pursuing her dreams, confronting challenges, and venturing beyond comfort zones continues to inspire me. As I navigate life's ups and downs, rewatching the movie brings new insights, emphasizing appreciate for everything I already have, the love of family, and all the support around me!
