Small Favors by Erin A. Craig
Craig posted a mood board of this book, and the quote she used was “Burn all the things you have to burn. Save all the people you’re supposed to save.” And I’m #sold.
These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan
I have been WAITING FOREVER for this book. It is everything I’ve ever loved - undercover spy, seedy deals, arranged marriage, love triangles, morally grey characters… and Fae, if you’re into that!
What We Devour by Linsey Miller
A dark and intricate story of a girl who must tether herself to a violent ruler to save her crumbling world - uhhhh #swoon
You and Me at the End of the World by Brianna Bourne
Everyone in the world disappears… except for Hannah, an overachieving, music-box-perfect ballerina, and Leo, a slacker, 80s-glam-metal-obsessed guitarist. Together they must find answers before they’re world ends and they’re torn apart forever.

The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
In 1872, New Orleans is a city ruled by the dead. But to seventeen-year-old Celine Rousseau, New Orleans is a safe haven after she's forced to flee her life as a dressmaker in Paris. Taken in by the sisters of the Ursuline convent in the middle of the carnival season, Celine is quickly enraptured by the vibrant city, from its music to its fancy soirées and even its danger. She becomes embroiled in the city's glitzy underworld, known as La Cour des Lions, after catching the eye of the group's enigmatic leader, Sébastien Saint Germain.
When the body of one of the girls from the convent is found in Sébastien's own lair--the second dead girl to turn up in recent weeks--Celine battles her attraction to Sébastien and suspicions about his guilt along with the shame of her own horrible secret.
After a third murder, New Orleans becomes gripped by the terror of a serial killer on the loose--one who has now set Celine in his sights. As the murderer stalks her, Celine finally takes matters into her own hands, only to find herself caught in the midst of an age-old feud between the darkest creatures of the night, where the price of forbidden love is her life.
At once a sultry romance and a decadent, thrilling mystery, master storyteller Renée Ahdieh embarks on her most potent fantasy series yet.

REVIEW: Crown of Bones by A.K. Wilder
I cannot tell you how much I wanted to like this book. I definitely think that Crown of Bones will be liked by many readers, but I am not one of those readers. It was extremely tough for me to get through and if I hadn’t received an ARC and hadn’t be so hopeful that I would like it, I don’t believe I would have finished it. In the end, it took me a month and a half to read, because I continually found reasons to put it down and excuses not to read.
The pacing, characters, and ending all left much to be desired, with the only saving grace being the unique magic system and some cute moments between the love interests (although insta-love just isn’t for me, so even the romance wasn’t captivating.)
For me, it’s a SKIP IT.
★★☆☆☆ 2/5 Stars

Fast-paced, magical, and unapologetically feminist, Wench is epic fantasy like you’ve never seen it before.
Wings of Ebony by J. Elle
In this riveting, keenly emotional debut fantasy, a Black teen from Houston has her world upended when she learns about her godly ancestry--and with evil sinking its claws into humans and gods alike, she'll have to unearth the magic of her true identity to save both her worlds.

REVIEW: These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5/5 Stars
Thank you so much to Simon & Schuster and Chloe Gong for destroying my week giving me a free ARC for my honest review.
My review can really be summed up into one emotional, heart-felt statement that I’ve been screaming at the top of my lungs since about Chapter 5 of These Violent Delights.
CHLOE GONG HOW VERY DARE YOU?! To have the AUDACITY to write a book so devastatingly good... I have lost many nights of sleep over this book and all of your characters now live rent-free in my head forever.
While I probably shouldn’t say this, I’m saying it anyway... Gong took Romeo and Juliet, shook it up, and just made it better.
These Violent Delights takes place in 1920’s Shanghai and revolves around Juliette Cai, the heiress of the Scarlet Gang, and Roma Montagov, the heir to the rival gang, The White Flowers. After completing her education in America, Juliette returns to Shanghai to the rumors of a monster causing madness in her streets. In order to save everything she cares about, she must team up with Roma to solve the mystery of the madness... but to do this they’ll need to get over their past love and current hatred for each other.
If you love slow burn romance, bad ass lead females (who happen to kick ass wearing dresses and a garrote wire necklace), so much diversity seamlessly and easily woven in you’ll wonder why other authors find it so difficult, mystery, and retellings... this book is most definitely for you.
But I warn you... once you come for the plot, you’ll be staying for Gong’s writing and looking forward to whatever she writes next. With descriptions like: “A boy with steel skin and a heart of glass.”, you’ll be swooning over more than the romance!
Now... GO READ IT! Happy publication day, Chloe Gong! 🥀

I just finished These Violent Delights and honestly, Chloe Gong had NO RIGHT to make a book this devastatingly good. I lost many nights of sleep staying up to read this and now that it’s over, HOW CAN I SLEEP?! Talk about a book hangover.
Official review coming later, but obviously 5/5 ⭐️
