I can’t get over James McAvoy’s astounding acting choices in DOFP when it comes to Charles’ feelings toward Erik. When Logan first mentions that they’ll need Erik too - right after that hysterical, broken laugh, Charles starts panting like a dog in the summertime while saying “he’s where he belongs.” Just a mention of Erik’s name sends Charles gasping for breath. Then on the plane, before they start talking, there’s a long beat where Charles just stares at Erik, trembling and twitching and looking like he’s about to spontaneously combust. I mean that’s just … McAvoy made CHOICES.
