For the ask game, just curious

Dedenne, Plusle, or Minun (if you wanna do all 3 go ahead but you only have to do 1)

All 3 of these do not see much use in teams competing at a professional level, but that does not mean they are weak battlers by default. Also, plusle/minun have very similar usage, so i will group them together (and mention notable differences)

Dedenne: This Pokémon is very much on the weaker side, i will not gloss over this. It simply can not take many hits from stronger Pokémon and it's offensive capabilities are not the best either. It is quite fast though, but sadly not fast enough to actually compete in the big leagues. Pokémon like Gengar, Dugtrio or Tauros tend to be faster, which puts dedenne at a serious disadvantage. However, Dedenne has access to a lot of rather powerful moves like Dazzling Gleam, Thunder and Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Nuzzle and a few others. With this and a little bit of strategic thinking, Dedenne can pull its weight during a gym challenge. Its fairy typing can be a useful asset against trainers who specialize in dragon types. Items like the Petaya-Berry in combination with the Cheek Pouch ability can make this Pokémon a sweeper if you set it up properly. However, i doubt we'll see Dedenne in a lot of Hall of Fame entries. That is okay though, they are cute regardless.

Plusle/Minun: Sadly, these two are also widely outclassed in terms of professional battling. In a direct comparison, Dedenne tend to be better at almost everything than Minun/Plusle, so we can basically take the arguments from above, but they are more extreme for these two. One thing to consider, however, is that they have access to a lot of useful moves. (If my memory is correct, they learn the same moves as well). Among those are Nasty Plot and Agility which lets them become quite frightening battlers if they have the oppoortunity to set up for 2 to 3 rounds. Which is... unlikely. They also learn Substitute, Encore, Light Screen and Baton Pass, however, so they could help out as a support Pokémon as well. Again, you can definitely find a niche for them during your gym challenge, but they are sadly just not made for the world championship. But I do think they'd make incredible cheerleaders.

tl:dr i'm placing all my blogs on indefinite hiatus, i'll be putting that in my pinned posts as well.

Well. I made the decision. it's been coming for a while tbh, i've taken a lot of breaks in the last few months, and if i'm honest i never really wanted to stop these breaks. I'm not having fun roleplaying here anymore. It's an ugly truth, but its a truth.

I don't want to blame anyone but myself, please don't get this wrong. But i want to explain myself and i want to be honest. And also, i'm very sorry about incoherent rambling, i can't really help it right now.

I feel like i had no involvement in this community anymore. Which is... objectively false, but that doesn't help me feel better. All the people that made me join rotomblr either left themselves or they evolved so much and so fast that i can't keep up. There are new people as well, and there are many that i like a lot, but in the end, rotomblr is changing way too fast for me to keep up and it simply kills all my joy and motivation. (again, i don't blame anyone here. I want you to have fun. It's just sad that i can't be part of the fun)

I have tried a lot to bring my motivation back to rotomblr by making A LOT of blogs, some have been very well received, some are not getting any attention. And again, i understand that. I don't want anyone to force themself to be into something they're not. And i understand much much better that i can't just expect a blog i created 5 minutes ago to get asks and followers in the hundreds. But this is, in the end, another reason for me to feel left out.

I also tried to plan an event, i tried making a story and none of it really went anywhere. I don't know how you do it. I don't know how you can go and plan something like this, and how you work together with people like this, and i just can't keep it up anymore. It's gotten so bad that i actually fear opening the app on my phone. I don't read my favourite blogs anymore. And since i realized that, i also realized i need to make a change.

In addition, there is also real life, and other hobbies, and all of it is draining the limited time i have as well as my mental capacity and lately have been getting REALLY depressed. Not specifically because of rotomblr, but i think it's been a part of it.

So. I have made the decision to put all of my blogs on hiatus. I don't want to delete them, because i had it often that i just gave up on a hobby or a game or a book and came back to it after a long time. And honestly, i like a lot of the characters. They are very dear to me, and most of them only live through tumblr, and i don't want to lose them. But i don't have concrete plans to come back anytime soon.

On the other hand, i won't leave the few discord servers i'm in, mostly because i still really like the community and i consider quite a few of you people good friends by now.

PS: I am so incredibly upset with myself it's unbelievable. When i made the blog and started having really a lot of fun, i said to myself that i want to keep this hobby up for one year. That was my goal. And i failed. FUCK. On the other hand i have been ignoring rotomblr for a bit already and it's been kinda freeing. so... yeah... meh.

The Striaton City Little Cup Tournament! (OOC version)

Hi people! I had this idea for a bit now, and i think i'm in a position now where i want to announce it!

I thought it would be neat to have a Pokémon Battle tournament for our characters! Because, you know, pokémon battling is kinda the very much main aspect of the mainline games. But since most of them own random cute little pets and not vicious murder machines, it just makes sense to have the tournament be in the LC format (also i just like LC lol).

I'm not entirely sure how exactly everything is going to be, so i'm making this post wayyyyy ahead of time! Any and all (constructive) input is welcome! (I'm doing something like this for the first time)

That said, minimal rulings: i don't know when exactly i'll be hosting the event yet, but it won't be this year. I think the earliest time i'd be comfortable with would be around march, possibly later. And please don't participate in the event, as a battler, if you play a sentient Pokémon. Joining the Discord and watching the tournament and stuff is ok of course.

If you have an issue with an rp plotline that involves multiple people, you make a post addressing it so they can all see it. You don't message one individual person, not even the person who came up with the plotline, and say a bunch of malicious things. You don't tell someone "you can't make up for your mistakes", you don't tell someone "if you were really sorry you wouldn't have done it" - that one is gaslighting, by the way.

Everyone makes mistakes. It's a fact of life. When I accidentally said something with really ableist implications in rp, people didn't attack me - they pointed out the shitty implications (which I had already realized and done my best to address) under the assumption that it was a mistake and that I needed education. I appreciated the messages! Even though I'd already done my best to mitigate what I'd said and acknowledged what I'd done! If I hadn't known or realized, the messages I received would have been a godsend.

You want people to learn and grow. You want people to become better and more compassionate.

Assigning malicious motives to someone and acting like they're the root of a problem you claim to have when that's provably untrue does not make anyone think you're telling the truth about what your issue is. I completely believe the "elevated" thing bothered that anon - however, how they dealt with that was unreasonable. It is never appropriate to lash out at people like that. It is never appropriate to harass and bully someone simply because you do not like them.

Everyone, everyone, needs to learn to deal with their trauma responses without harming others. It's hard, and you will fail sometimes due to circumstances outside your control. That doesn't mean you get a free fucking pass to be awful to people. You close the fucking computer and go do something else to process, then come back and address what happened that bothers you.

If you actually answer all these answers with "yes", then that's okay. But from the responses to these asks i got the feeling you were not actually okay with this, which is why i stepped up. Sometimes it's not easy to see what is wrong.

In the future, just make sure you're doing things with flare (and other characters) that you actually want to do

Sorry if this isn't like, for your blog or anything, but i think it's really time someone said something.

But, anon: what the fuck. Seriously. Do you read what you are writing? This is going way too far, this is for my taste even further than just godmoding. We are talking about choosing what other people are doing with their characters, which is bad enough. But also these characters are minors, these characters are animals (Pokémon) and humans, and you're talking about forcing them into some specific kind of relationship, even if it is not romantic or sexual. Not to mention that the people behind these characters are potentially also minors???

I'd advise the blogs involved (@pichuparadise , @blueflare7pkmn and maybe others idk who else got these asks/magic anons) to anon-block this person (or multiple people, idk how big this has gotten). This whole stuff is making people uncomfortable, not just me.

Please remember that you are not entitled to a gym match every day, every hour of the week. Gym Leaders are busy people that have important jobs to do, outside of battling.

You can schedule a Gym battle ahead of time. Most gyms have a website and you can find contact information on official league websites.

As far as i am aware, this goes for all regions.
