Sometimes you just gotta eat what’s on hand 💁🏻‍♀️I ran out of oats so my breakfast today was banana 🍌 yogurt 🍽 peanut butter 🥜 some pecan nuts (which were a little stale tbh) and of course coffee ☕️. My preference is to always have a more cohesive meal (ideally warm) so I had to seriously resist the urge to go to McDonald’s before work. And yes I let my cat eat at the table 🙈. If she eats on the ground my other cat jumps on her! He’s a real bully.

Overall, November has not been a great month for me. I have just finally got over that terrible cold which lasted a full three weeks. I’m still not feeling 100% and coughing quite a bit still, but I’m sleeping through the night and eating normal food again. Needless to say I haven’t met my goals for the month. 😔 I do intend to do what I can in the next 10 days, and whatever isn’t accomplished will be carried over to December. Eating this week likely won’t be great because I have a special fundraising dinner tomorrow that my work sponsored (plated meal) and my work Christmas party Saturday (buffet meal). But I might have a healthy snack before going to each of those events so I don’t over do it. Above is a photo of the Swedish meatballs I made this weekend for my husband. Not the healthiest but soooo delicious! It was my first time making them so I followed the recipe to a tee. Next time I might try some substitutions to make it healthier. Also pictured is what I’m eating for breakfast these days. Oats, banana, peanut butter, and flax. Keeps me full all the way until noon! 👊🏼

Well it’s day 9 of this horrible shitty cold. 😩😷 I feel like crap and haven’t been sleeping properly because I’m coughing all night long. I haven’t been exercising or eating well. I made a giant pot of chili Sunday and have been working through that, but otherwise have basically been subsisting on buttered toast and tea with honey for over a week. My husband is also sick so neither of us are doing housework and our home is a total mess.
I’m praying that I’ll turn a corner this week and start to feel better. I’m so sick of coughing!!! My abs hurt from it! Until then I’ll be on my couch watching Netflix all the hours I’m not working. So far I’ve made it through two seasons of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 and caught up on all my regular shows 😅.

November Goals!

Now that winter seems to be officially here (it’s been snowing all week!) I think it’s wise to set some November goals to try to stay on track with making progress and fight the temptation to eat baked goods and drink hot chocolate with a chubby cat warming my lap! This is what I hope to achieve this month: 
(1) Get under 200 lbs;
(2) Eat more protein (aim for a minimum of 100 g per day); 
(3) Manage alcohol consumption (I have three Christmas parties already scheduled this month…yikes!); 
(4) Join a gym; 
and two non-weight loss related goals: 
(5) Book trip to India in March! 
(6) Track spending and refrain from making unnecessary purchases to save funds for said Indian holiday!

Well it’s been a shitty week for the most part! I have a nasty cold and I’m feeling terrible. 🤧 I can’t take any time off work to rest or recover because I just have too much work to do. I have no energy to cook so I’m glad I did my meal prep over the weekend. Thankfully my husband has been taking care of me despite the fact that he’s still a little sick himself! I weighed myself today and I’m back below 207 so I basically re-lost the weight I had already lost over the summer! 🙇🏻‍♀️ I’m just trying to look at the bright side, as I know it’s normal to have ups and downs. It’s a journey, not a race.

I’m proud of my self discipline today. My husband has had a cold over the last few days and has been feeling miserable. Here I thought I managed to avoid catching it but sure enough I woke up this morning with a terribly sore throat and a nasty headache. All I felt like doing was sitting on my couch watching Netflix and eating ramen, but I kicked my ass into gear and got my meal prep done. ✅ Lunch this week is quinoa pork veggie stir fry. I also made some tomato soup with spinach and Italian sausage but I didn’t take a photo because I added too much spinach and it looks gross 🙈 (but still tastes good!!). On another note, a friend needed me to watch her four year old son this afternoon for a few hours. I took him to the trampoline jump park and we had such a blast! Jumping and running on trampolines for over an hour is actually really good exercise and I worked up quite a sweat! 😅 It was a little embarrassing because it seemed like I was the only adult jumping and the rest were watching on the side. 😂 But really, what is the purpose of life if not to have fun? 🤷🏻‍♀️
