The cuddle saga is getting a makeover! I've improved A LOT since I started it so I have decided to redraw. I also wanted to include the old version of my WIP to give you a little peek at what it will turn out like!

From chapter 4 of I Was Thinking About Your Mouth, coming Sunday:

“I think I’m going to skip dinner tonight. I’m not really hungry.” He sounds nasal and faraway and Carlos is standing here, looking at him seriously, but all he wants to do is hold him tight and let him cry into his chest.

“You always say that and then you end up eating at 2 am.”

TK winces with irritation but still politely responds, “I just feel like being alone tonight if that’s okay.” Doesn’t really have the energy to argue.

“No,” Carlos tells him, “It’s not okay. Get up. I mean it.” Risky, using this tone. Sometimes TK is highly amenable to being bossed around. Sometimes Carlos pitches it all wrong.

But TK does get up – softly sulky as he humors Carlos and heaves himself off the bed. He follows Carlos with obvious reluctance, although Carlos is confident he’d have been coaxed anyway by the scent of heating tomato and mozzarella, like always. He knows details about TK that nobody else could ever know because they’d never care enough, except for Owen and Gwyn as his parents. Now one of the people who knows the most about TK is gone forever, and it occurs to Carlos then about the loneliness of it. Every time someone who loves you falls out of the world, they take a part of you with them. They take the facts and the secrets they’ve been privy to, the little details and quirks that they found relevant and charming for reasons of their own. When Carlos told TK he wants all of his pieces, he meant it more than even he realized at the time. He wants not just the addiction and recovery-related aspects of TK’s experiences and emotions – he wants everything that Gwyn took with her when she went. “Send it all back to me and I’ll do it for you,” Carlos prays to her silently, “Send all your love for TK back to me.”

🍦 What's the sweetest fic you've created so far?

This is difficult!! Most of my fics are pretty sticky sweet 😂 But I would say maybe Make Me Laugh 'till I Die, I Stand Beside You With Pride TK has a little moment of insecurity about his relationship with Owen and Carlos reflects on how envious he’s felt of TK’s relationship with his dad, and also all the sweet little things he loves about TK like his insistence on dancing to any Madonna song he hears no matter where he is or who he’s with 😂

🧐 Do you spend much time researching for your stories?

I do for some of them!! I did a ton of research for Eid Fic because respectful representation was really really important to me

I don't know who he'd play but I'm obsessed with Johnathan Bailey at the moment and would love him to have a cameo! Maybe he can be TK and Carlos' gay florist friend from the farmers market (he did their real wedding flowers) 🤭

This isn't much but just a bit of proof of life that the Iris/Carlos fic is still a thing.

It doesn’t look like Iris’s house. It looks like a nice place to live, like the people inside hug each other a lot and laugh and eat homecooked meals every night instead of the frozen dinners Iris usually heats up by herself in the microwave because her mom is working and Michelle moved out after she graduated from her paramedic training. She’s been gone for two whole years, and she still comes to visit but it isn’t the same as when they lived in the same house. She slept in her old room on Christmas Eve. Iris liked that, but tried not to get too used to it.

She steps up and puts her own shoes on the welcome mat. She reaches up and rings the doorbell, and immediately hears the thumping of footsteps inside. The door is yanked open and a heavy-breathing Carlos appears on the other side of it, in a striped green t-shirt.

“Hi!” he practically yells.

Iris smiles at him. “Did you sprint down the stairs?”

“Yes.”

“Your house is nice. I love daisies. I wish we had flowers.”

“You could plant some.”

“I guess so.” Iris shrugs. “I’d just forget to water them. And my mom is never home.”

At the mention of her, Carlos’s face folds into a frown and he goes onto his tip-toes to look behind her. “Does she want to say hi to my parents? I thought she was dropping you off.”

“She’s working. I walked.”

His eyes go as wide as ping-pong balls.

“It’s not that far.” Iris shrugs again.

“Carlitos!” a woman’s voice says from behind the door. “Let your friend in, it’s cold!”

“Don’t call me that!” he complains, but he opens the door wider and steps back so Iris can step inside.

Behind him isn’t his mom, like Iris was expecting, but a girl who must be one of his sisters. Luisa, Iris thinks. The oldest one is away at her first year of college, she remembers Carlos telling her that.

“Hi, Iris,” the girl says, with a warm smile that reminds Iris so much of her own missing sister.

“Hi.”

“This is Luisa,” Carlos says dutifully.

Iris repeats, “Hi.”

“Tell mom your guest is here,” Luisa says, ruffling Carlos’s hair.

He twitches away from her touch and then rolls his eyes at Iris. She stifles a giggle, and part of her wants to tell Carlos not to push his sisters away. He’ll regret it when they’re both gone forever.

“Carlos, my dad knows we have sex.”

“There’s a difference between knowing it and seeing it.” He shudders. “The time he walked in on us when we were staying with him was bad enough.”

“Oh,” TK shakes his head. “That barely even counts.”

“Barely even counts?” He scoffs, sitting back as far as he can [redacted]. “Barely even counts? TK I was knee deep inside you when he walked in.”

It was a late morning on a day Carlos had off before TK and his team went to work at the private ambulance company. TK had kissed him awake sweetly, murmuring sleepy words of adoration into his skin before seductively whispering into his ear that his dad and Mateo had gone to work, and that he should fuck him into the mattress until he screamed. He proceeded to do just that, and was enthusiastically mid thrust into a moaning, panting, red-faced TK when Owen flung the bedroom door open with a cheerful greeting, two peanut butter banana smoothies and an excited Buttercup who bounded into the room and flung himself onto the bed, licking all over Carlos’s mortified face.

“He said he didn’t see anything.”

“My ass was in the air and your legs were slung over my shoulders,” he says flatly. “He saw.”

Happy Wednesday! I will miss my old headers but I thought with the million WIPs I have always going on I should make some specific to my fics. This is First Aid's :) thanks for tagging me @welcometololaland @strandnreyes @im-overstimulated-and-im-sad

“Maybe keep the detailed med talk to a minimum at work?”

“You never want to hear about my studies but when a certain paramedic you ‘do-not-like’ shows up you’re suddenly very interested in medicine.” Iris’ pink mouth falls open and she drops the air qoutes to slap his forearm. “What was that?!”

“What?” Carlos asks, truly perplexed.

“That smile! You usually try to play it off so cool. Like ‘oh me? I don't come in the break room with Mr. President so often that Iris no longer dares to eat in there because she doesn’t know how thoroughly those surfaces were cleaned after.'”

“Iris,” Carlos hisses, eyes scanning the thankfully empty hostel entrance. He doesn’t know what to be offended about first.

“But now I mention him and you smile,” she insists, eyes sparkling. “You look like a love sick kitty-”

“Kitty?”

“I’m not a dog person,” Iris waves a hand like that is common knowledge and he should keep up. “Don’t distract me, Carlos. You owe me an explanation for that smile!”

Carlos rubs his lips, finding the corners of them lifted. It’s the same direction the buzzing bees in his stomach take off to, colliding with his heart, colliding with his heart.

I wasn't going to post this but I just need to get it off my chest.

To anyone who replied to my friend post yesterday: thank you so so so SO much.

I was diagnosed with depression this week after a long trip to the hospital and everything has been so dark and scary. Medication is currently running rampant and things have felt hopeless and very lonely. Posting that was one of the scariest things I've done.

The only thing that has made me smile has been all those comments and replying to you all. I really hope we can keep talking and be friends. So thank you from the bottom of my heart, you helped save a life and you didn't even know it.

Hopefully art posting will return to normal soon ❤️
