I was doing my report, and then Mother by Porter Robinson came on and I'm like "Well shoot, now I'm just imagining Monkey King looking at a grown up MK real happy to finally have a soulmate, even a platonic one."

So yeah here we are. 😭 Might draw the 'continuation' where we see MK next but honestly idk. I mean, I WOULD LOVE TO! But it would lowkey not look very good since I wanna attempt background in there.

Wanted to color something the other day

So I noticed that MK's face was a little wonky to look at, so I adjusted it. And while I'm at it I've decided not to include the reference photos in this particular post.

A few days ago, it was brought to my attention that including references photos of other people's artworks in the drawings I share on here is probably not recommended, more so when I've never come into contact with them or know their preferences for that matter.

So here's a version where references are not included! I'll still post the links to the inspiration since the reference / inspiration I used are still in the original post.

These guys are amazing! I love Lana's art, it's why I used it as my inspiration in the first place. But I wasn't aware that these artists don't want their art reposted, but honestly, I understand why they wouldn't want that. [A lot of people don't want reposting of their art either, so yeah.]

I have a few more questions for your AU if you don't mind. It's just something that I've realised when planning the storyboard and hoping you'd answer.

But it's also totally fine if you're not able to answer them! They're just thoughts in my head as I plan for my storyboard. :3

🍑 I have no idea how the story would progress in here since Wukong adopts MK, so I have been pondering on how would he meet up with the gang. How would he meet Pigsy, Tang, Sandy, and Mei? Would he still go on to be the Monkie Kid?

Mei, I've already made a headcanon of them meeting up while he's growing up, the others... no ideas yet.

🍑 In canon, I presume he is enamoured by Sun Wukong thanks to Tang's stories. MK in S4 has mentioned he read JTTW, but only where Wukong appears in the story. Which, mood. XDDD And I'm pretty sure MK reading JTTW could be due to Tang's influence anyway, lmaooooo.

I wonder if he would still be enamoured by Wukong when growing up to be his son. I think yes, but in the sense of "Oh my god, dad is so cool! I wanna be just like him when I grow up!" and maybe one day he's wandering around or something, stumbled on the place where he found Wukong's staff sealing DBK with PIF and Red Son trying (failing at first but ultimately succeeding thanks to ✨technology✨) to lift the staff and boom LMK could happen again xDDD

Oh shid I have so much ideas now on the possible ways MK could meet up with the gang when growing up. The brainworms are real.

🍑 And then there's a question of whether MK will become immortal or not as the story progresses. Based on this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/MonkieKid/s/dnF5Xqf1wB it says that in JTTW, Wukong likely has a natural long life ahead of him before becoming an immortal due to being born as a stone monkey. So with that in mind, with MK's origins being the same as Wukong's rock (or something), it's probably safe to say he is the same species. Albeit, somehow inheriting all of Wukong's abilities that he earned by studying with Subodhi and due to the Furnace.

I could probably do well to read JTTW and brush up on the events that happened in LMK for more ideas. But, hm. A thought for later. Research is daunting. So, later, later. Fun time headcanons for now.

PS : Not me realising that the majority of LMK's episodes all start with MK at Pigsy's. If canon still happens in this AU, it would need a massive overhaul if they were to happen while he's staying with Wukong. Same principle as before, I'll get there when I get there. Imma just have fun with what we have in the present, baby MK. 💖

Uh shit-- AAAAAAAA IT WAS MEANT TO BE A SURP4ISE BUT AT THE SAME TIME I DON'TMIND YOU SEEING IT NOW CAUSE IM HELLA BUSY WITH REPORTS, ASSIGNMENTS AND WHATNOT FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.SSSSS 😭😭

I'm so happy you're hyped for it!! This is my first ever attempt at making a storyboard/animatic thanks to a challenge prompt an artist on YouTuber made (Kesh Art on YouTube, @keshrt on Instagram) where the challenge is to spend 10 days working on a dream project of yours.

Mine had been always to make animation or attempt to do an animatic as I've always been enamoured and inspired by the lovely animations by big studios and small creators on YouTube, as well the music I listen to.

So. At that time, I thought to myself, "Ah, a dream project of mine... that would be..... an animatic." and since the current brainworm of mine was your fic and the song Mother by Porter Robinson, I had thought. Hell yeah. An animatic of "All good things come to those who wait, here we go!"

It's been so fun to work on the storyboard as the days go by, there were a lot of hiccups in the form of getting sick (TWICE IN A MONTH, LMAOOOOO 😭) and assignments to do, but I powered through (read : didn't do them because I was too inspired) and got the sketches out.

Ahah, so my hubris has caught up with me and I'm rushing through some reports I need to do. Speaking of which, I should get back to it now!

2 more days left, and then I can disappear off the face of earth to study for my finals and end semester projects.

There's still a lot of frames I hadn't done. But honestly, as of right now. I don't think I can finish them with a good conscience.

I'll just focus on storyboarding as much as I can with my busy schedule. Day 9 or 10 is when I'll release the video as an animatic.

Kreate10 : A Challenge by KeshArt (Instagram : @/keshrt)

So I'm doing a little challenge an artist I know on YouTube created. The challenge is called Kreate10 and it basically challenges you to work on something for 10 days on a dream project on yours.

Mine is basically to draw animatics because I've always loved watching them and thinking to myself, "Wow, I wanna do that one day." but I never did. Heh.

The Kreate10 challenge wants me to create something for 10 days, and to also "ship" it. Which is, to share with other people, I suppose..

I could do it on Twitter or Instagram... but I'm a little intimidated by Twitter, and while Instagram is kind of pretty on mobile, I don't frequent that site so that's probably a no go...

I've had this Tumblr for a while, and probably posted a lot of cringe 💀 or something but it's also my own space since forever so hmm..

Anyway. My Kreate10 project is to make an animatic!

I'm very nervous... I've never tried this before... but this is what this challenge is for...

So, for the planning.... I. have no plan. Kreate10 tells me to break it into 10 small parts but I only know of 3 parts to doing this.

So.... I think I'm just gonna storyboard for 4 days, draw the frames nicely?? for 4 days and then shove them all into a video program in the last 2 days or something.

..... that doesn't sound very okay. It feels like a disaster is heading my way with such vague planning but. Oh well. Haha.
