Serendipity
You first noticed him when he walked into the coffee shop. A mere glance at first but you quickly did a double-take. Damn if he wasn't gorgeous. That kind of gorgeous that should be illegal. That caused traffic accidents because people couldn't take their eyes off of him. Something you found hard to do too. Turning your attention back to the customer at the register, you forced yourself to concentrate as you took the order. As soon as you were able to though, your gaze wandered around the shop to find him again. He was standing in line while perusing the menu. Meaning you were going to have to face him and talk to him. Please, please, please do not let me stutter in front of him like an idiot. As the line got shorter, your mouth got drier and your legs got weaker. You swallowed while giving yourself a mental pep talk. It's just one guy, that probably didn't even notice you. No big deal. Just take his order. Besides, someone that good looking has to already have a girlfriend. That last thought didn't sit well with you, but there was a lot of truth in it. That always seemed to be the case with good looking people. Everyone else flocked to them, making them popular with friends and lovers. One last order and you took a deep breath. The person moved aside, showing you the god walking among mortals. "Hey." he greeted with a smile. "Welcome." you said, smiling as well. "What can I get you?" "Hmm...." He surveyed the menu for a moment before looking back at you. "How about a large whatever-you-like." Your brain short-circuited. "Huh?" His smile broadened. "Pick for me. What do you like?" "Oh." you uttered while staring at his smile. What coffee did you like again? And what was coffee?
You mentally slapped yourself and shook your head. Then you told him your usual order. He pursed his lips and nodded in thought before saying, "That sounds good." "Okay." you punched in his order and waited while he paid with his card. "You gonna ask me my name?" You blinked at him. "What?" "Are you gonna ask me my name?" He indicated the register. "For the order." "Oh. Um..." You shook your head once more. If this continued any longer, you really were going to turn in to a stuttering idiot. Holding out his receipt, you pointed to the numbers on the paper. "Your order number will be called out." He took the paper from you, his fingers brushing yours and making them tingle. He set the paper down on the counter and made a show of very slowly putting his card back in to this wallet. "So, you don't want to know my name?" The question was both cute and ridiculous. Of course you wanted to know his name, though you didn't see how that would make any difference. Still, you smiled and humored him. "What's your name?" He brightly smiled at you. "Daehyun. What's yours?" What??? Bells, sirens, and whistles filled your head. You gaped at him while feeling your face heat up. It took everything you had to stutter out your name, and then to not smack your forehead for stuttering. He chuckled while amusement danced in his eyes. He opened his mouth to say something else when a loud 'ahem' came from behind him. Then he was blushing, as if he just remembered all the other people waiting in line behind him. You watched as he took his receipt and moved away from the counter. The person behind him stepped up and glared daggers at you. You pasted on a smile and hurriedly took their order. As soon as they walked away, you looked over to see Daheyun watching you. Feeling yourself blushing, you swiftly looked away to serve the next customer. After a couple more orders, you heard his number called. A quick peek showed him step up to the other counter and then you surveyed the line you had. There was no way you were going to get through the morning rush quick enough to talk to him again. Another order and then you looked around the shop just in time to see him walk out the doors. Looks like that was all there was going to be. Deflated, you focused on your work and told yourself to forget about him.
Of course it didn't work out that well. Your brain kept replaying your counter with the handsome male all day. Even now as you drove to your parents' house for dinner, you couldn't get the image of his smiling face out of your mind. You were definitely crushing on him in a bad way. And it may have been your imagination, but you were pretty sure he felt the same way. Parking along the curb, you got out and locked your car. As you approached the front door, it opened to reveal your mom standing there excitedly. "There you are! I was wondering when you were going to show." she excitedly stated. "Hi mom." you told her and gave her a quick hug. Then of course you had to tease her. "It's almost like you haven't seen me in forever." "Well sometimes a week is forever." You laughed at that and slipped your shoes off. "Dinner done?" "Just about." She headed to the kitchen and you followed her. The house smelled heavenly, making your mouth water. When you entered the kitchen, you saw your dad gathering dishes to set the table with. "Hey you." "Hey dad. Need a hand?" you asked. You took the plates from him and then furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. "Why are there four plates?" "Remember how we rented out the apartment above the garage a couple weeks back?" Your mom began transferring the meal to serving dishes. "I invited him over for dinner." "Really?" you questioned. Not that it was surprising considering your mom. Then your dad piped in. "He's a nice, young man." That sent off warning signals. "Wait, are you guys trying to hook me up again?" "Oh really now." your mom tsked. "Would we do that?" "Yes. Yes you would." Your parents shared a conspiratorial look. They last couple of guys they had set you up with were utter failures in the relationship department, making it so you weren't keen on their help. Besides, if you did manage to see Daehyun again, you could see if that led to anything. A small blush formed on your face as you got ready to tell them about him. "Well, actually.." The doorbell rang, cutting you off. "That must be him now. Hold that thought." Your mom took off so fast for the front door you wondered if she had whiplash. Your dad chuckled as he went to the dining room. "Come on." You followed him and placed the plates around the table. "As I was saying, I actually met this guy at work earlier today so don't get your hopes up about tonight." He raised his eyebrow at that, but didn't say anything. You heard your mother's voice and turned to greet the guest. Then your mouth dropped open. "Here they are. Daehyun, this is.." The male said your name with a surprised look on his face. "Oh. You two know each other?" your mom questioned. "Uh... yeah." you answered. "At the coffee shop." Daehyun added. Your dad came around the table. "At the coffee shop, huh?" He smiled wickedly at you. "That was today?" Blushing, you swallowed thickly and nodded. "Well isn't this a lovely coincidence." Your mom's smiled mirrored your dad's. "Why don't you two finish setting the table while your dad and I grab the food." Your parents swiftly left the dining room, leaving you alone with Daehyun. The two of you stood there silently and you wished the ground would open up to swallow you whole. He cleared his throat and took a step closer. "Well, this is a shock." "Yeah." you agreed with a nervous chuckle. You turned back to the table and started spreading the napkins around. Then you were very much aware of the man moving to stand next to you. "It was good by the way." he told you. "The coffee." Still blushing, you smiled at him. "That's good." You fumbled with the silverware until he reached out to take them from you. He finished setting the table before turning to you. That same bright smile formed on his face. "So, is there any particular reason your mom insisted I come over for dinner tonight?" Fuck my life. If your face could get any hotter, it would be on fire. Thankfully your parents entered the room at the moment, saving you from having to answer. They set the food on the table and your mom fussed over Daehyun, telling him she hopes he enjoys the food and to eat as much as he wants. You were also 100% sure she had to stop herself from squealing when Daehyun pulled out your chair for you. Once Daehyun sat down in his own chair, you peeked over at him to see him watching you with his eyes twinkling in amusement. You quickly looked away and caught your dad's gaze, only to see amusement in his eyes as well as he smirked at you. That's when you decided to keep your head down and stare at your plate. Throughout the dinner, you mom kept up most of the conversation. Which was mostly peppering Daehyun with questions. How was work, stuff about his family, how the apartment was. You resisted the urge to kick her under the table. It was one thing to be curious, but your mom was making it seem like an interrogation. And every time she tried to drag you in to the conversation, you could only manage to squeak out short remarks. "So, do you have a special someone in your life? Your head whipped up. "Mom!" She blinked innocently at you. "What? I'm just being polite and getting to know our guest." You turned to Daehyun and was about to apologize when he chuckled. "No ma'am." he declared. Then his gaze slid to you as he smiled. "There's no one like that..." He trailed off, as if he meant to say 'yet' at the end of his sentence. Kill me now. "Well, then." Your mom had a huge grin on her face as she stood up. "I should get this cleared up." Daehyun quickly stood. "Let me help." Your dad swatted his hands away. "No, no, we got it. Why don't the two of you go talk?" "In fact, it's such a lovely night." your mom added, "Why don't you guys go sit on the porch. We'll join you in a few minutes." You opened your mouth to protest but Daehyun spoke first. "That sounds like a good idea." Then to your mom he said, "It was a lovely meal. Thank you for having me." "Of course! We'll have to do this again." Glancing around to see three smiling faces waiting for you, you swallowed and stood up. Silently you led Daehyun to the kitchen and out the back door.
As soon as you were outside on the porch, you took in a deep breath of air to fortify yourself. "Sorry about that." Daehyun smirked at you. "About what?" You closed your eyes and resisted a groan. "I mean... My mom... And..." Great, you were a stammering idiot now. He chuckled and shook his head. "It's fine." Then he indicated towards the porch swing. The one piece of furniture out here that could seat two people. Blushing for probably the hundredth time tonight, you sat on the swing and did your best to ignore the butterflies in your stomach when he sat next to you. "Your parents are pretty cool. Especially your mom." he declared. "She keeps bringing me meals and made me a pie when I moved in." Unable to help yourself, you giggled. "Yeah, that's my mom. She likes fussing over people." "And now I understand why I had to come to dinner tonight." he continued. "And why she wouldn't take no for an answer." Well this quickly became mortifying. "Uh... yeah. About that... I'm really sorry." You rolled your eyes and shook your head. "They're probably spying on us through the window right now." He laughed at that. "So I probably shouldn't kiss you right now?" You felt like you were choking on air as you sputtered, making him laugh even more. "Wow, you really know how to lay on the charm don't you?" you accused and playfully glared at him. "Absolutely." he agreed, unperturbed. "And I'm going to keep laying it on pretty thick cause I'm really hoping you'll say that you want to see me again." A smile formed on your face and you had to look away for a moment. When you met his gaze again, he was smiling and looking at you in anticipation. "I..." He leaned in closer. "Want... to see you again." He leaned back and closed his eyes while forming fists with both his hands. "Yes." Then he opened his eyes to smile at you again. "I'd ask for your phone number but I'm pretty sure your parents have already written it down and are eager to give it to me." This time you barked out a laugh before nodding a few times. "Yeah, that sounds like them." He reached over and took your hand in his, weaving your fingers together. That same tingling like earlier, when he brushed your fingers while taking his receipt, spread over your hand. Then your stomach did flips as he brought your hand up to lightly kiss it. You scrambled for something to say while fireworks shot off in your brain. That's when you noticed movement and you leaned forward to look at the kitchen window better. The curtain was hastily moved back in place. "They spying?" "Yep." Daehyun chuckled. "Guess I made their night, like you made mine." You were blushing again. Again. Then you shyly smiled at him, "You made my whole day."

I’ve always loved the way you write pining, it makes my heart hurt in the BEST way and this was no exception ❤️ especially since this one has a happy ending, I was so relieved and so happy that yongguk and reader (who are ADORABLE, btw; their interactions are so sweet and so natural! I love it!) ended up being able to talk it out and achieve what they thought was impossible ❤️❤️❤️ URGH they just make me so happy! also I ADORE the friendship between reader and Tamar, seeing them help and support each other in their own ways is so great, everyone deserves a friendship like that 🥺 like yes Tamar pushed a little too far, but it worked out so point to her! 😂 Man, everything from the dialogue to the narration to the characterization is just so smooth though, it’s so easy to get attached to all the characters and empathize with reader’s feelings especially- my heart was fluctuating like 🥺😭😱😰😳🤩🥰 while reading LOL. but seriously, thank you so much for sharing this story, I’m so glad to see you’re still writing because you’re simply fantastic at it! Much love to you and thank you again for this lovely boost of happiness to my day ❤️❤️

A Possibility
Length warning: 3400 words
Quality warning: I haven't done any writing in so long and it just feels weird doing this. Like something has to be wrong with the story, especially since I honestly have no idea how this managed to happen at 4am.
"I'm just saying that if the guy really was a big shot athlete in college who broke national records, then you would find at least one thing about him on the internet." You set the box of dishes you had been carrying on to the kitchen counter. Tamar rolled her eyes as she began filling one cupboard with cups. "I don't think the girl who has been pining over the same guy her whole life should be giving out relationship advice." You froze for just a second and then turned towards your friend to glare at her. She glanced at you before sighing. "Okay, sorry. That was a low blow." Smacking the counter angrily, she added, "Damn it I really like him." Turning away from you, you worked on putting away the plates. "Just confront him about it then. If he admits he lied to impress you, you can work with that and warn him not to do it again. If he sticks with his story, then you know he cares more about his image than about having an honest relationship." "Hmm..." she hummed, mulling over what you said. "Yeah I suppose that works." She grabbed her empty box and tossed it towards the other boxes waiting to be taken to the recycle. "Ready to get out of here and go shopping? I need to load up on snacks and booze if I'm gonna have a housewarming party." You tossed your own empty box away. "Only if you buy me lunch first. I'm starving." Tamar laughed at that and nodded. "Deal. As a 'thank you' for helping me move in."
As soon as you walked in to the restaurant, you waved at the server and headed over to the back booth. The place you and your friends always sat at when you came in. "Hey, the usual?" asked the server. "Yep." you answered and slid in to the booth. "Except change my fries to tater tots." Tamar piped up. The server raised his hand in acknowledgment as he wrote down the order. Then he passed it to the cook in the kitchen. Drumming your fingers on the table, you eagerly waited for your food and turned your attention to the window. It was a nice, sunny day that went well with your happy mood. Today was a good day your decided. Suddenly your eyes were covered and all you saw was darkness. A breath tickled your ear briefly and someone asked, "Guess who." A shiver went down your spine, but you ignored it. Instead you chuckled and rolled your eyes. As if you could ever mistake that voice. "Hi Yongguk." The man laughed and removed his hands from your eyes. "How'd you know?" he questioned as he slipped in to the booth to sit beside you. "Please. I've had to listen to that annoying voice for years." you told him. He barked out a laugh and shook his head. Then he turned to Tamar. "You settled in?" "Yes, finally!" She let out an exaggerated groan. "You gonna make it tonight, right?" "Of course." At that moment, the server brought over your meals. The food smelled absolutely heavenly and you quickly popped a french fry in to your mouth. A small moan escaped you, causing the guy next to you to chuckle. Then his had shot out towards your plate. You went to smack his hand but you were too late. He made off with a fry and hurriedly ate it. You glared at him and scooted a couple of inches away from him, taking your plate with you. Only for him to follow you while attempting to steal more of your food. "Mine!" you exclaimed with a small giggle. You kept smacking his hand while moving away until your side was pressed up against the wall. "Come on, share." He gave you a mischievous smile. Then he was right there beside you, his body touching yours as he trapped you in the corner. "Get your own." "But sharing is caring." "Who says I care?" That earned you another laugh from him and he slid away from you, giving you some space. Tamar shook her head. "You two are unbelievable." The sever appeared again with a to-go bag. "Here you go." he said and put the meal down in front of Yongguk before walking away. Yongguk stood and grabbed the bag. "Well, see ya guys tonight." Then he left and you resisted the urge to watch him walk out of the restaurant. "Girl." Tamar while giving you a pitiful look. "Don't." you hurriedly demanded, not wanting her nagging to sour your mood. "We're friends. That's it." Another sigh. "Fine." Turning your attention to your meal, you felt your mood shifting anyways as your mind filled up with Tamar's opinion about you and Yongguk. About how good the two of you would be together as a couple. A tiny part of you agreed, but you couldn't let yourself let that part be more than a passing thought. Yes, you had a crush on your best friend. Some would even say it was a 'major' crush, and you've been suppressing those feelings for years after flirting with him did nothing. It was obvious he didn't feel that way about you so you gave up. At first it wasn't easy and it hurt like hell to be around him. Time helped ease that pain though so now there was only a dull ache in your chest when you allowed those feelings to briefly surface. Shaking your head and pushing him out of your mind, you changed the topic to Tamar's party. The two of you made a plan on how many people were coming and everything that you needed to buy.
Well, at least you tried to plan for the party. More people than you were expecting showed up and you were dangerously close to running out of drinks. The snacks were gone an hour ago. Tamar didn't seem worried about it though as she danced to the music with some friends in the living room. You sat on the couch and watched her with a grin on your face, until she beckoned you to join them. "Uh, no." you said as she stretched both arms out towards you. "No, no, no, no." Your denial fell on deaf ears as she grabbed you and pulled you off the couch while laughing. She urged you to dance and you half-heartedly followed along, causing her to laugh more. Then there was loud knocking on the door and you quickly proclaimed, "Got it!" You escaped the make-shift dance floor and went to the front door. When you opened it, you smiled in relief to see Yongguk holding a large box that was overflowing with bags of chips. "I brought supplies." he said as he walked in. "Yes!" You turned towards the crowd. "More snacks on the way!" Several people cheered as you led Yongguk into the kitchen. He put the box on the counter and began emptying it. "I figured you didn't bother with some 'just-in-case' extras." You rolled eyes. "Yeah, yeah." You grabbed the empty bowls and began filling them with chips. Once they were full, the two of you carried the bowls out in to the living room and set them on the table that was pushed up against the wall. "Dancing time!" You turned to see Tamar beckoning for you to join her again as she slowly danced toward you. You turned towards Yongguk and desperately pleaded, "Save me." "Nope." Then he pushed you. You stumbled slightly as Tamar grabbed you. Giving in, you let her lead to back to the group of people dancing while glaring daggers at Yongguk. He merely smirked at you though. With a sigh, you decided to go with the flow and started dancing. It wasn't long until you were genuinely enjoying yourself. You weren't sure how many songs had played by the time you collapsed on to a chair. "Wimp!" You stuck your tongue out at Tamar before laughing. How in the world she was still dancing was beyond you. Your legs and your feet had had enough. Though a drink sounded wonderful and groaned like an old woman as you got back on your feet. You headed towards the kitchen and came to a sudden halt in the doorway. Yongguk was leaning against the counter and he wasn't alone. A girl stood next to him and by the way the two of them were smiling, you pretty sure they were flirting. Suddenly a phone went off, snapping you back to reality. You walked over to the fridge as Yongguk pulled his phone out of his pocket. "Hold that thought." he told the girl and answered the phone. He left the kitchen and you guessed he was going to the bedroom so he could talk privately. Looking at the drink selection, you momentarily eyed the liquor before settling on a soda. Then you closed the door and you jumped. The girl had moved to stand by you. "Sorry." she offered. "You're friends with Yongguk, right?" "Uh, yeah." you replied. She lifted her right hand to show the phone she was holding. "My ride's here. You think maybe you could give this to him?" With her left hand, she offered you a napkin. Scribbled on it was the name Jessica and a phone number. "Oh. Yeah. Sure." You took it and stuffed the napkin in to your pocket. "Thanks!" She beamed happily at you while blushing a little. Then she turned and left. With a heavy sigh, you closed your eyes to center yourself. This wasn't a big deal. Yongguk has had girlfriends before. Heck, you've even dated a couple of guys. The only reason it feels weird now is cause of Tamar constantly insisting that you and Yongguk should date. She was like a dog with a bone in her mouth. If only she'd just drop it. Ignoring the dull ache in your chest, you went back out to the party.
As the night went on, the party slowly died down until it was just you, Tamar, and Yongguk left. And you weren't sure how much longer they would last. They both sat on the floor, leaning against the couch, and it was obvious they might have had one two many beers. "Best night ever." Tamar stated with a lopsided grin. "Um, have you seen your apartment?" you asked and indicated the mess as you plopped down in front of them. She giggled and shook her head like a little kid. "I don't even care right now." Yongguk giggled as well and rolled an empty liquor bottle across the floor. All of a sudden Tamar sat up and fixed her gaze on you. "So, anyone catch your eye?" You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. "What?" She rolled her eyes. "Oh please. You had to have realized how many more guys there were here than girls." She smiled and lean towards you. "Did any of the single guys I invited catch your eye at all?" "Uhh..." Yongguk suddenly sat up as well. "Wait, was this a hook up party for her?" "And a housewarming. Two birds, one stone." she told him before turning back to you. "Well?" "Well?" Yongguk parroted, amusement in his eyes as he grinned at you. Feeling yourself blush a little, you shook your head. "I wasn't exactly looking for a date." Tamar sighed. "Damn girl. What am I going to do with you?" "Well if you would have said something beforehand." you told her. Then you noticed how she kept glancing between you and Yongguk. Dread welled up in your stomach as your heart started to race. "You know what..." She trailed off as if she was thinking about something that just came to her. "I think you two would look good together." A shock went through you as if someone had dumped a cold bucket of water on you. You gaped at her, not believing what she said. "Oh hell no!" exclaimed Yongguk. "That would be horrible." He gagged, as if the idea repulsed him, and then laughed. It was only when his laughter faded that you realized you hadn't reacted at all. You hurriedly smiled and forced out a laugh. "Uh, yeah. Horrible." The smile on his face started to slip though as he looked between you and Tamar. Several emotions flashed in his eyes. Amusement, confusion, disbelief, and then horror as he gaped at you. You looked away from him. "That reminds me." You dug the napkin out of your pocket and set it on the floor by him. "Jessica wanted me to give you this. You should call her." Standing up, you surveyed the living room. "I'm gonna start cleaning up." Then you went to the kitchen, pretending that you didn't hear Tamar call out your name. Going straight to the sink, you found the box of trash bags under it and grabbed a couple. You began to fill one with the empty bottles and chip bags. "Hey." You kept focused on your task. "What?" "He left." Tamar informed you. Sighing, you dropped the bag and ran your hands through your hair. "Fuck." "Sorry. I didn't..." You whipped around to face her. "Didn't what? I told you over and over again to drop it. Now look at what you did." "I just thought..." "No. Just stop." you told her. "He's been my friend for years and you fucked that up. Things will never be the same between us." Tamar stepped forward. "You don't know that." You scoffed. "Yeah, sure. Just look at the way he reacted." You mimicked his gag before giving her a dirty look. Then turned away from her and started cleaning up again. "Look, I.." "Drop it." you demanded, interrupting her. She didn't say another word as she grabbed the broom and went back in to the living room. You were very thankful that she listened to you this time. If she would have kept at it, you probably would have started yelling at her.
About twenty minutes later, you set the two trash bags down and looked around. "That everything?" "I think so." answered Tamar as she indicated for you to help her with the coffee table. You grabbed one end and together the two of you carried it to its rightful place. Stepping back, you looked around once more but didn't see anything out of place. "Let's get the trash out and call it a night." Tamar took one of the bags, leaving the other for you. "You can crash here if you want." Those magic words made your sore muscles throb. Between helping her finish moving in, all the dancing, and now the cleaning, it had been a long day. Well... that and the Yongguk disaster but that would have to wait another day. "Yeah thanks." you replied. You followed her to the front door and opened it to find a person standing there. Startled, she jumped back in to you though you barely noticed. Your heart leaped in to your throat as you stared at Yongguk. The man had his fist up, as if he was just about to knock. "Oh, sorry." He glanced at you but quickly looked away as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Um..." The three of you stood there in awkward silence for a moment before Tamar spoke up. "I'll just take these," she took the trash bag from you, "And you two can talk." She squeezed passed Yongguk while simultaneously pushing him into the apartment. Then she closed the door. If it was awkward before, now you didn't know what to call it. He could barely look you in the eye as he shifted uncomfortably. Sighing, you said, "Look, just forget about tonight, okay? It's not a big deal. And I meant what I said, you really should call Jessica. She seemed nice." That finally made him look at you with a surprise look on his face. "Huh? Oh.. yeah. Um... But..." He furrowed his eyebrows and licked his lips. Then he took in a deep breath and closed the distance between the two of you. Before you had a chance to do anything, he cupped your face with his hands and pressed his lips against yours. You were so shocked, all you could do was stand there. This wasn't happening. This couldn't be happening. What the fuck was happening?? He pulled back and looked at you. "Okay this is weird, isn't it?" That jolted you from your mental panic and you swiftly stepped back from him. "What? I mean, yes. Yeah. It's weird. Why would you....?" You glared at him, anger rising in your chest. "I told you to forget about it. I don't need your pity." His eyes widened. "No, no, no. That's not.." "I said it's not a big deal and I meant it. You shouldn't.." He grabbed your arms, preventing you from moving further away. "That's not what I meant!" The words you were going to say died on your tongue as you gaped at him. "I just... I..." He let go of you to run his hands through his hair as he turned away from you. "Fuck." He took a couple of deep breaths before turning back to you. "It's weird cause I never thought that this could happen." "This?" "Yeah, this." He indicated the two of you. "Us. I never thought... And now I know that yeah, it's a possibility and I don't know what to do or how handle it or..." Your heartbeat sped up. A possibility. This was possible. "Let's try this again." He stepped closer and cupped your face once more. Then he kissed you a second time. When he pulled back, the two of you shared a look. A silent agreement passed between you and you gently put your hands on his arms. "Third time's the charm." he stated before kissing you once more. Something inside you bloomed, causing a rush of happiness to well up in you. This time when he pulled away, you couldn't help but smile. "There it is." he proclaimed, smiling as well. A small giggle escaped you. "Okay, yeah. It's weird." He stepped back and laughed. "Yes! Thank you!" Then he quickly closed the distance and wrapped his arms around you. You hugged him back, relishing his embrace. The sound of a door opening caused you both to jump back, separating the two of you. "Sorry, sorry." Tamar offered as she closed the front door. "Don't mind me, I'm not even here. Just turn off the lights." She swiftly fled the living room. That did you in and you dissolved in to a giggle fit. You couldn't stop. It also didn't help that Yongguk was hysterically giggling as well. The two of you started shushing each other, which of course turned out to be counter-productive. So you did the only other thing you could think of and kissed him. That did the trick, though the small moan he let out sent a shiver down your spine. "I'd say I'll walk you home, but I really don't want this night to end." he declared. You eyed the couch and looked at him. He seemed to have the same thought as he glanced at it as well. Taking your hand, he led you to the couch and when you sat down, he scooted closer so the two of you were pressed up against each other. This time, you didn't move away. "First thing's first." He shifted a little so he could look at you better. "No matter what happens, you'll always be my best friend." You sighed in relief. "That's exactly what I was afraid of. And, same. Always." He smiled. "Good. And... I don't have to call Jessica, do I?" You barked out a laugh before covering your mouth to silence yourself. "No. Absolutely not. I will end you." That made him laugh this time. "Good, good." Then he smirked. "You do realize this means I'm entitled to steal your fries." "Again, I will end you." He chuckled and shook his head. Then he pulled you in for another kiss, which you eagerly gave in to. The feeling of his soft lips against yours was heavenly. "Okay." you murmured. "The fry stealing is a possibility." "A possibility." he agreed before kissing you again.

I’ve been a reader of yours for years now and am so heartened by the fact that you’re still writing- doesn’t matter how slow it goes, the fact that your creative spirit carries on makes me so happy 💖 I’m sorry your job tires you out so much; I hope you’re getting enough rest and that eventually you’ll have time to do and write what you want 🙏
Thank you so much ♥ I don’t think I could every fully give up writing. My brain seems to be constantly making up stories. One day I’ll get back to putting them on paper. I’m trying to get enough rest, though I could probably try harder. I’m currently on my break at work and all I’m doing is yawning while craving yet another cup of coffee lol!

I really love your recent Jongup story bc I'm going through a similar thing like the story lol funny how when feelings are involved you just can't communicate clearly 😖
Oh I’m so sorry ♥ ♥ ♥ Hopefully things go in your favor. It is funny how much feelings can get in the way.
And I’m super sorry if this is a late reply. I never got a notification or anything that showed I had a message >.<

Tagged: Self-Promo
Was tagged by @promisesox for a self-promotion thingy, with posting 5 of your favorite creations. Technically only 3 of mine are complete, but I wanted to include the other 2. Anyone who wants self-promote, consider this as me tagging you ♥
1. All I Want For Christmas
My first story, posted 7 years ago. It doesn’t seem like that much time has gone by. I used to go back and read it every so often. It amazes me how much my writing has changed, and how much is still the same.
2. Hope and Chances
I do have some regrets with certain stories. There’s about 5 of them I’ve actually come to hate. Hope and Chances is one though that I think I really got it right. There isn’t anything about it that I would change.
3. A Good Girl
1,982 subscribers on AFF. My most subscribed story, more than double my second most subscribed story. I take it to mean that it’s my most popular fic. I don’t know why that is, but I can honestly say it gave me a huge confidence boost seeing so many people enjoy it. It really made me feel like an actual writer, that I can expand in to other genres or themes, that my stuff really was worth reading. That I didn’t mess up again. 1,982 may not seem like much, especially compared to a lot of other writers on AFF, but it means everything to me.
4. This-title-keeps-changing

Blurred cause I’m too embarrassed for it to be seen >.< They’re notes, filling up a notebook that @supastareden had gifted me. It’s for a book I’m writing. Well, I’m not really sure yet if it’ll be 1 or 2 books... And “writing” is a bit of a stretch since I haven’t been doing anything let alone writing... But, yeah. I’m writing a book. One day (probably in about 30 years) it’ll be published, even if I have to self-publish it.
5. Doll
Again, I’m really not writing. I work 6 days a week. My brain simply shuts off when I get home. When I do write, I get a paragraph or so down. And it’s agonizing that that is all I can manage. It feels like I lost the ability to write anything more than those book notes in a notebook while daydreaming. Yet I still keep going back every couple of weeks or so to jot down a few more sentences. I’ve been working on Doll, a smut fic with Yongguk, for a little over a year now. It’s still not finished and I’ll cry in the shower about that later, but here’s the first 2 chapters:
1)
As you woke up, you kept your eyes closed. You could feel your mat under you and the warmth that it gave off. It was odd but it was something you loved. Something about that heat that calmed you and strengthened you. Letting the moment go, you finally opened your eyes and sat up. The room was completely dark like always, save for a thin strip of light shining in from under the door that helped you make out all the other bodies around you. They each had their own mats that were crammed together, fitting as many people as possible in to the one room. Or rather, as many 'dolls' as possible. You looked at the male doll to your right. He was sitting up and picking at a loose thread on his boxers. You turned your gaze to your own clothing. A black lingerie set with lots of lace that barely hid anything. Adjusting it, you checked to make sure it wasn't falling apart anywhere. You liked it much better than the previous set you wore and you didn't want to have it replaced just yet. Suddenly the room got much brighter and you lifted your head. The door was open and a woman beckoned everyone out. "Let's go!" You stood with the rest of the group and shuffled forward. Once through the doorway, you found yourself in a brightly lit hallway. Its white walls were empty of any decoration. You kept walking, following the lady and the rest of the dolls. Another door and you entered a room that was a tiny bit more inviting. The lush carpet felt better on your bare feet than the hard linoleum of the hallway. On the light blue walls hung pictures, all of dolls in various sexual poses. The group separated with the boys lining up against one wall and the girls moving to the opposite side. Time for work. You glanced over to your left and saw the doorway that had a curtain hanging in it. Through it was a much larger room where the sales took place. Other dolls would be lined up in there, the ones that were 'new'. Dolls that haven't been with anyone and could fetch a higher price. You and the rest of the dolls in the back were technically for sale, but it was unheard of for a working doll to be bought. There were rumors of it happening in other stores though. The curtain moved and the lady from before walked in with another woman. "Here is our selection of males." The new woman slowly walked down the line, eyeing every one of the guys, before stopping in front of a large, muscular man. "I'll take this one." "Great. He is your keycard for your room. You're in room number one." The customer took the card and headed towards the stairs. The male doll followed after her, putting his arm around her waist and settling his hand on her hip. He said something quietly to her that you couldn't hear, and she responded with a flirtatious giggle. When they disappeared from view, you glanced back over at the curtained doorway. The lady was gone now, back up front where she could assist any other customers. There would be plenty more throughout the day that would pay for the backroom experience. Select a doll of their preference to be taken upstairs and have their way with. Suppressing a sigh, you leaned back against the wall and waited. It was only a few minutes later though that the curtain was pulled back again so you hurriedly straightened. The man examined the line of females before his gaze lingered on you. You subtly shifted, sticking a hip out and pulling your shoulders back to show off your curves. "This one." A coy smile formed on your face and you stepped forward. "Good choice. She's one of our newest dolls. I'm sure you'll be happy with her."
The man wrapped his arm around your waist and lead you to the stairs. The wood steps didn't feel as good on your bare feet as the carpet, and the customer's hand that moved down to grab your ass wasn't pleasant either. But you ignored all that and went up to the second floor. On this floor were several doors, each with a room number on them. The male went over to the third room and opened the door with the keycard. You swept past him through the doorway while glancing around the room. It was identical to the others, just big enough to fit a large bed with a small television in the corner. Suddenly you were shoved and you stumbled forward. Then you were pushed again, making you practically fall on to the bed. You crawled on to it and rolled your eyes at the guy's impatience. When you looked back at him though, you made sure you kept your face neutral so he wouldn't see any displeasure. The man stripped off his clothes in a hurry, his sharp gaze never leaving your body. It was a look you had seen before and mentally cursed. You started to take off your clothes, only managing to unclasp your bra, when he closed the distance to you. He yanked the bra off before grabbing your underwear with both of his hands. There was a distinct sound of cloth ripping as he wrenched them down your legs. You watched helplessly as he threw the panties aside. He dropped down on to you and without warning, he pushed in to you, filling you with his whole length. You threw your head back as you cried out, and then gritted your teeth as he started thrusting in to you. There was always the ones that only cared about their pleasure. So you simply laid there and let him have his way with you while listening to his grunting. He planted his hands onto the bed on either side of you and pushed up so he was hovering over you. Even now he stared at your bare breast, his gaze never wavering. You examined everything about him. His demeanor, his expression, and mostly the way he was ruthlessly pounding in to you. He didn't want pleasure. He wanted dominance. Shrinking in to yourself, you screwed up your face to reflect more of the pain he was giving you. Instead of moaning, you whined and whimpered. Finally he met your gaze and you hoped there was enough weakness in your eyes. You didn't have to wait long to find out as his pace faltered. He grimaced and let out a string of profanities before collapsing down on to you. His slick, sweaty skin made you wrinkle your nose in disgust, but you forced yourself to endure it until he finally rolled off of you. Panting still, he sat up and surveyed your body. He reached over and grabbed one of your boobs, squeezing it roughly and making you hiss as you arched your back. Then he let go and his hand moved between your legs, groping you. "Not bad." he nonchalantly said. He moved off of the bed and started getting dressed. You took that as a signal that he was done with and climbed off the bed as well. Instead of putting your bra and underwear back on though, you held them in your hands. It was standard protocol, though you would have stayed naked anyways. The last thing you wanted was to get his sweat and stink on them. Only after he left the room did you leave, following him to the stairwell. As he went downstairs, you hurried through a door tucked away in corner. It led to a small bathroom with an open shower area. You stepped under one of the showerheads and a stream of warm water hit you. You cleaned yourself thoroughly before moving to the shelves that held clean towels. As you were drying yourself, the male doll that had went upstairs before you entered. He didn't spare you a glance though as he went in to the showers. Dropping the towel in to a bin, you retrieved your lingerie. Holding up the underwear, you found a slight tear along the seem and pouted. Just as you feared, that asshole ruined them. You carefully dressed, being extra mindful to not tear it anymore. Hopefully they'll last till the end of the day so you could try to mend them. Once you were ready, you left the bathroom and descended the stairs. There were a few dolls still lined up but you noticed some were missing. More than likely upstairs with their own clients. You took your spot along the wall while suppressing a sigh and waited for your next customer.
2)
The day slowly passed by with a steady stream of clients coming and going. Of course it got busier in the evenings. People getting off work and coming in for one little tryst before heading home. Sometimes there would even be clients waiting for their turn in a separate lounge, insisting on a particular doll. Stifling a yawn, you watched as the curtain was pulled back yet again. The newest customer examined both lines of dolls and you silently prayed you wouldn't be chosen, even as they neared you. Then they picked the girl standing beside you and you forced yourself not to let out a breath in relief. They barely made it halfway up the stairs though when you heard the rustle of the curtain. You glanced over at the doorway and inhaled sharply. The man shyly smiled as the storekeeper directed him over to the female dolls, causing an odd sensation to form in your stomach. "This is her." They stopped in front of you, which meant that this was a special request. You took a hesitant step forward and eyed the man curiously. There was no denying how handsome he was, even in just a simple t-shirt and jeans. And with the way the lady who ran the store was standing so close, you had a feeling you weren't the only one admiring his looks. "Here is your keycard." she said and held it up from him. When he went to take it from her, she quickly put her hand over his to stop him. "I do hope you enjoy your time. Let me know if there is anything you need." A small smile formed on your face over her behavior, and it grew larger as you noticed him blush. "Thank you." he replied as he took the keycard from her. Then he turned his attention to you. "Uh... well..." He indicated for you to walk ahead of him, much like a gentleman would with a lady. That odd feeling in your stomach intensified and you attempted to ignore it. Nodding politely at him, you started to head towards the stairs. He walked beside you, not touching you and making him stand out even more. He didn't act like every other man that entered the back room. Once you were on the second floor, he checked the number on the keycard. "Room ten." Then he examined the doors near the stairwell. "It's further down." you informed him. Taking his hand, you led him down the hallway to the right door. After unlocking it, the man opened the door and stepped aside. You moved past him to enter the room first and made your way to the end of the bed. You turned around and stood there, waiting. He never approached you though. He simply stood there, hesitating, as if he was unsure what to do. "What's wrong?" you asked. Then a thought came to you as you recalled the shy smile he had earlier. "Oh wait, here." You went to the television and pushed the power button. Instantly a porno was shown on the screen, accompanied with the loud wailing of a woman. His eyes widened in surprise as he stared at the television. "Oh, uh... Actually..." He closed the distance and turned it off. Then he turned to you. He hesitated once more before he gently placed his hands on your hips and kissed you. This time you were surprised, but you hurriedly kissed him back. You set your own hands on his arms just as gently. You knew now what he was expecting. He wanted a more personal experience and you made a mental note of that in case he came back. He pulled back and licked his lips as he gaze lowered. His hands slid up your sides before going back down, moving just past your hips. Then he brought them upwards again, much higher than before. He briefly met your gaze, as if giving you a chance to protest. When you didn't, he moved his hands over your breast, fondling them. Reaching up behind you, you unclasped your bra. He licked his lips once more, this time in anticipation, and moved his hands back. You let the bra slip off of you to fall on to the floor. More hesitation, even as you noticed the growing lust in his eyes, and then he grabbed your breast. More gentleness, so when he suddenly squeezed them roughly, you gasped as your back arched. Then his fingers toyed with your nipples, pinching them and rubbing them as they hardened. The fact that he wanted it to be personal filled your mind again. "What's your name?" He looked away from your breast and raised his eyebrows. "Yongguk." You closed the distance, forcing his hands to move away. Tilting your head slightly, you began to pepper his neck with kisses. Your hands found the hem of his shirt before disappearing under it. Running you hands over his skin, you started to lightly suck as his neck as well. A sigh escaped his lips, encouraging you to continue. So when you sucked on one particular spot that made him stiffen, you gave his neck a harsh suck. You were rewarded with a tiny cry, sending tingles through your body. Then you pulled back and licked his neck upwards to his ear. You sucked on his earlobe just as your fingers ran over his nipples. "Yongguk." you quietly whimpered in to his ear. "Fuck." He swiftly stripped off his shirt before grabbing you and yanking you closer. His lips smashed in to yours, eagerly kissing you as his hands squeezed your ass.
You squirmed against him, causing you to feel the forming hardness in his pants. You attempted to wrap your leg around his but he suddenly started pushing against you. Kissing him still, you awkwardly walked backwards as he guided you. Then your legs hit the bed and you unwillingly broke off the kiss. You moved on to the bed and scooted backwards until you reached the pillows. Yongguk followed you, crawling over you. Before he could lay down, you reached downwards and rubbed your hand over his dick. He let out a moan, his mouth dropping open as his eyes unfocused. Fluttering in your chest left you breathless, and you quickly set about undoing his jeans. As soon as you felt the cloth of his boxers, you pushed your hand inside them and wrapped your fingers around his hard member. You only managed a few strokes through when he forced your hand a away. Pinning your wrists to the bed, he leaned down kissed you once more. You closed your eyes and managed to hold back a moan until you felt Yongguk's tongue moving over your lips. As soon as you gave him an opening, his tongue entered your mouth for a brief moment. Then he pulled back and gently kissed your jaw. Your neck, your shoulder, your collarbone. He shifted to the side and brought his mouth down on your left breast, sucking on it and causing your back to arch. You opened your eyes to watch him just as he nibbled on your nipple. Biting your lip, you attempted to lift your arms but he forced them to stay against the bed. Pulling back slighting, he flicked your hardened nipple with his tongue a few time. Then he met your gaze as he relinquished your arms. You no longer had any desire to move them though as he slid further down your body, leaving a trail of kisses along your stomach and to your lace panties. He hooked his fingers in to them and sat up. You lifted some of your weight so he could smoothly pull the last of your clothes off of you, leaving you completely naked for him. He looked over you body, his gaze lingering a bit more in certain places. Reaching forward, he slipped his fingers through your wet folds and a quiet moan escaped him. He circled your entrance with one finger and then moved upwards to your clit. He pushed on it a few times before rubbing it. You gasped as pleasure flowed through your body, causing your legs to stretch out and your back to arch off the bed. You closed your eyes and let yourself drown in it. Which was easy to do as you felt him quicken his pace. It wasn't long until you were squirming, your heavy panting filling the room. "Yongguk." you whined as you shuddered. The pleasure disappeared as he moved his hand away. You opened your eyes to watch him remove the rest of his clothing. Once naked, he draped his body over you, settling between your legs and rubbing his dick on you. His lips found yours again for a brief moment before he shifted and you felt him pushing in to you. A long moan escaped him and he pressed his face in to your neck. Then he began to rock his hips, swiftly pumping in to you. You gasped and quickly reached up with your hands to grab him. The pleasure from before returned with ferocity, a storm threatening to break you in to pieces. His name played on your lips over and over, turning in to a desperate chant. Which seemed to only urge him on and his pace increased. His moans growing louder and coming more frequently to drown you out. Tremors racked his body and his arms wrapped around you tightly. As if clinging on to you could help temper his own storm consuming him. Finally something inside you snapped and you cried out as your body jerked. Seconds later Yongguk cried out as well and his hips slammed in to you, pushing his dick deep in to you as he cummed. Then he collapsed on to you.
You laid there, listening to his heavy breathing, and holding on to him. His sweaty body didn't repulse you like your first client much to your surprise. And when he went to roll off of you, you were reluctant to release him. He laid on his back next to you and you rolled on to your side in order to look at him. "That was better than I expected." he stated with a small chuckle. Then his eyes met yours and a blush graced his face. You smiled and sat up before leaning towards him. You trailed a hand down the side of his face, caressing him and earning a startled look from him. You ignored it though and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. Which only made him blush harder and you giggled. With a shy smile, he sat up and slipped off the bed. You watched as he rounded the bed to retrieve his clothes before climbing off the bed yourself. You gathered up your lingerie and waited for him. When he was done dressing, he glanced at you and hesitated as he eyed your still naked body. "I have to go clean up." you informed him. More blushing and another shy smile. "Oh... yeah." He indicated towards the door and you nodded your head to signal that you were ready. Then he opened it and moved aside for you to leave the room first. The two of you walked down the hallway in silence. At the staircase, he started to go but stopped when he noticed you weren't following. "I have to go in there." You pointed to the cleaning room's door and then as an afterthought, you asked, "I'll see you around?" There was a bit of surprise in his eyes but then he smiled at you. "Sure."

Not sure you remember though, but I was the one who requested for a Kibum fic where he turns in to a cat in AFF. Hehe. Thank you for all your work. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

You are my forever favourite writer and the one who introduced me to my forever favourite group B.A.P through your work. After reading your stories I did grow more as a person , realised about the importance of consent, equal rights etc. Thinking back I am been so naive back then. Hope you are staying safe ,happy and healthy. Lots and lots of love and hugs to you.

Miscommunication - Part 3 of 3
You were first aware of the soreness in your body from the ground, and then you opened your eyes to see light illuminating your tent. Memories from last night rushed you and you inhaled sharply. When you looked at the spot next to you though, there was nothing there. Jongup and his stuff was gone. Stifling a groan, you sat up and extracted yourself from the sleeping bag. The last thing you wanted to do was see Jongup, let alone talk to him, but you couldn't hide in your tent all day either. You had to confront him about what he's done. He owes you an apology at the very least. After you got ready, you stuffed your feet in to your boots and undid the zipper. You climbed out of your tent and made sure it was properly closed behind you. Then you peered up at the sky to see bright blue without a single cloud. "Hey, saved you some breakfast." You looked over at the campfire to see Jongup smiling at you. Your stomach did a little flip, but you reminded yourself that you were angry with him. His good looks weren't going to dissuade you from confronting him. As you made your way over to him though, you noticed a few other people still at the campsite. It would have to wait until you two were alone. "Everyone else going to the lake already left but I figured I'd let you sleep." he told you as he held up a bowl of food. You merely nodded your head in reply and sat down beside him, making sure there was some space between the two of you. You took the bowl from him and silently began to eat. "Once you're done, we'll head over to the lake. I'll grab some lunch and extra water for us." He stood up and headed over to his tent. Letting out a heavy sigh, you closed your eyes to mentally prepare you for the walk. And the talk. The hike was the best time to do it. Then you hurriedly finished your breakfast before cleaning your bowl. At that moment, Jongup came up next to you. "Ready?" "Yeah." you replied though you weren't sure if you actually were. Then you noticed the backpack he had on. "Oh, let me get my bag and.." "It's fine." he insisted, cutting you off. "I don't mind carrying everything." "But.." Before you could argue, he grabbed your hand and started walking. You wanted to protest more, and tell him to release you, but you pressed your lips together and let him lead you away from the campsite.
After walking for about 5 minutes in silence, with Jongup still holding your hand, you decided enough was enough. "Jongup." He turned his head to glance at you with another one of his brilliant smiles. "Wait until you see the lake. It's so clear and the sunlight makes the water sparkle." You attempted to pull your hand free, only to have him tighten his hold. "It'll feel great after the hike too. But you don't have to swim if you don't want to." he continued. "Jongup." you repeated without bothering to hide the irritation in your voice. "We usually stay for most of the day, but we don't have to if you don't want to do that either." Planting your feet, you forcefully yanked your hand away from him. He stopped and blinked at you in surprise. "We need to talk." You crossed your arms over your chest, wanting to shield you from how much this was going to hurt. "You can't keep doing this." He furrowed his eyebrows. "Doing what?" "You can't keep..." A blush crept up on your face. Saying the words out loud now sounded mortifying. Swallowing thickly, you said, "Holding my hand, and last night when.." "Don't." he interrupted. He grabbed the straps of his backpack and squeezed them as he turned away from you. "Let's just.." "No. You can't... My feelings for you.." "Stop!" You jumped in surprise and stared at him. The last thing you expected him to do was yell at you. "Just stop already." he demanded. "I don't want to hear about your feelings when all you've done is... is..." He let out an frustrated growl before stomping off away from you and up the trail. You watched him go in confusion. What was he talking about? What had you done? He was the one manipulating you by using your feelings for him. You were the one that should be angry, not him. Tears started to well up in your eyes but you rapidly blinked them away. Instead of following after him, you turned and headed back to camp. The few people who had stayed behind eyed you curiously. They didn't say anything though, your mood evidently showing on your face, and you ignored them as you went in to your tent.
You awoke to someone whispering your name and opened your eyes. It was still fairly dark but light enough that you could see Jongup peering in to your tent. You had avoided him the rest of the day, barely even looked at him and made sure you sat away from him at dinner. Seeing him now brought back the anger you felt for him. "What?" you demanded. If your tone bothered him at all, he didn't show it. "I really want to show you something, please. It's not far, I promise. Please." The expression on his face cooled your anger, but traipsing around with him was something you still didn't want to do. "Jongup, I.." "Please." he begged, his voice dripping with desperation. "I just... I really, really want you to come with me. Please." You laid there for a few seconds before letting out a heavy sigh. "Fine. Just give me a minute." He nodded and zipped the tent flap closed. Sitting up, you started fumbling around for your shoes. Once they were on your feet, you messed with your hair to get it presentable. Then you remembered you were mad at him and weren't trying to impress him. When you emerged from your tent, everything was a light grey and you realized the sunrise was soon. You turned to Jongup who offered you a tiny smile. "Thanks." he said. He stuffed his hands in to the pockets of his jeans and indicated for you to follow him. Instead of heading to the main trail, he lead you in to the trees. A couple of minutes later, the trees thinned and you came up cliff edge. "I told you there was a good spot to watch the sunrise." He moved over to a large boulder and sat on the ground so he could lean back against it. You hesitated for a few seconds and then joined him on the ground. He leaned slightly to the side, putting more distance between the two of you. Your heart dropped in to your stomach. Screw being mad at him. He was your friend and you didn't want to lose that. You opened your mouth to apologize, but he started talking first as he stared out at the horizon. "I've really wanted you to come here, so when you finally said yes, I was so excited. Too excited, I guess. I just thought that maybe you... That you... Well, I'm sorry. I never should have..." He shifted and nervously cleared his throat. Then quietly he added, "I shouldn't have read more in to you coming here than I did. It didn't mean what I thought it did." You gaped at him in confusion for a bit before shaking your head. "Wait, what??" He winced and squeezed his eyes shut. "Can we just forget about his whole weekend please?" "Are you saying you weren't manipulating my feelings?" His head whipped to the side. "What? Manip..." His face fell and this time he was gaping at you. "Your what?" Your heart beat frantically in your chest. This wasn't happening, was it? "You kept pulling away from me though. And every time I've asked here to come here, you said no." he continued. You scoffed. "I hate camping." "But it would be with me." This made you gape at him again. "Wait... Are you..." You turned away from him so you didn't have to meet his eyes when you stated, "You thought if I said yes to something I hate, just to spend time with you, that meant I had feelings for you." There was a few moments of silence and then Jongup whispered, "Yeah." Butterflies fluttered in your stomach. "I figured it was one-sided." "So this whole time you...?" You turned your head to look at him and nodded. "Yeah. And you?" His nodded his head as well. "Yeah." The two of you stared at each other. A small smile formed on Jongup's face and you found yourself blushing as you smiled as well. Then the whole area brightened and you turned to watch the sunrise. You felt his hand slide into yours and instead of pulling away, you squeezed his hand in return.
When you both returned to the campsite, you were surprised to see most of the group awake and sitting around. Then you blushed in embarrassment as every single one of them looked at your hand and Jongup's hand still interlocked. "Well it's about damn time." "Who had this Sunday morning in the betting pool?" Your mouth dropped open and your eyes widened. You glanced at Jongup to see him just as surprised and confused. "W-wait, y-you guys..." he stammered. The group immediately burst out laughing. "It was so obvious it was painful." one guy yelled out, bringing about another round of laughter. Blushing even harder, you closed your eyes and suppressed a groan. When you heard a chuckle close by though, you opened your eyes to see Jongup smiling at you. You smiled back, ignoring a couple of wolf-whistles.

Miscommunication - Part 2 of 3
The rest of the afternoon slipped by as everyone leisurely set up the camp. Once the sunlight disappeared and it was dark, everyone gathered around the campfire as dinner was cooked. Which apparently was the time the group teased the unlucky two that drew dinner duty. Lots of snide comments were made about burning the food and every time a piece of food fell in to the fire, loud yelling would ensure. You watched it all with a smile on your face, genuinely enjoying yourself. That is until the conversation turned to what the planned activities were for tomorrow. A couple of people planned on staying at the camp but a few stated they wanted to go to the lake. You remembered your friends mention of a lake to go swimming in before, but you didn't realize that came after another hike. The ache in your legs told you that it would be impossible. "You're going right?" You stiffened slightly as Jongup sat next to you. "Uh... I don't know." you replied and made a show of massaging your legs. He pouted. "You have to go. It'll be lots of fun. You don't even have to swim, we can just sit on the shore together. And we'll walk by ourselves and go slow." Sticking his bottom lip out even more, he leaned towards you and whined, "Pleeaaaasssee." Blushing at his cuteness, you chuckled and shook your head. Then he leaned closer to you, his shoulder touching yours. You tensed and before you could help yourself, you wondered what it would feel like to lean in to him as well. Put your head on to his shoulder while he wrapped his arm around you. Instead you shifted so you were further away from him. Better this way to avoid the temptation. Though you couldn't resist completely and shyly smiled at him. "Okay." "Good." He smiled back at you, causing a swirl of butterflies in your stomach. Then he turned away and started chatting with the other person beside him. With his attention no longer on you, the smile disappeared from your face and you forced yourself not to grimace at the thought of tomorrow. You were going to be sore and miserable for a month.
A little after dinner, the people that planned on heading to the lake decided to go to bed so they could be up early and spend most of the day swimming. You reluctantly went to your tent as well despite wanting to stay up. Sleeping would just mean time would go by quicker and it would be that much sooner that you had to hike more. With a heavy sigh, you snuggled into your sleeping bag and closed your eyes. After a moment, you rolled on to your side. Then you shifted on to your other side. "Yeah, this isn't miserable at all." you muttered as you mentally cursed the hard ground. You tossed and turned for a while until you managed to doze off. Suddenly a loud bang made you jerk awake and you sat up. You blinked at the darkness, trying to discern what the sound was. Then you heard the pitter-patter of rain against your tent. Your hands squeezed your sleeping bag tightly. Now you knew what had woken you up. Another boom of thunder and you let out a frightened squeak. Laying back down, you curled up on you side and moved down in to the bag as much as you could. Please stop, please stop, please stop. Your silent plea went unanswered as more thunder rang out. Tears welled up in your eyes. You were never doing this again. No matter how much Jongup begged, there was just no way. The sound of a zipper moving caught your attention and you poked your head out. A dark figure shoved a couple of things into your tent before entering and zipping the door close. And now I'm going to be murdered by a crazy mountain man. "Jongup?" you hesitantly called out. "Yeah, it's me." He moved closer and that's when you realized he had his own sleeping bag and pillow. "Sorry I'm a little wet." he told you as he made a bed beside you. "What are you.. AH!" Thunder crackled overhead and you ducked back down in to your bag. A second later, you felt his arms on you as he held you tightly. "It's okay." he said. "It'll be over soon." You thought your heart was racing before but that was nothing compared to now. He was obviously comforting you. Did he have to be so... close though? "I'm gonna let go of you just long enough to lay down. Okay?" he questioned. You swallowed thickly and stuttered, "O-okay." He released you and you emerged from your sleeping bag. You watched as he got in to his own bag but he didn't pull up the zipper all the way. Once he was comfortable, he reached his arm out and wrapped it around you again. He pulled you closer and you shifted a little so there was barely any space between the two of you. Which only made you blush and you were grateful that it was dark so he couldn't see. "I remember that you hate thunder." he stated while his hand started rubbing your back. "I'm so sorry. I didn't think to double-check the weather forecast before we left. Otherwise I never would have brought you here." You wanted to tell him that it was alright. That it was no big deal. It would be a lie but you didn't want him to be racked with guilt. You could have just as easily checked the forecast yourself. As you opened your mouth to force the words out though, more thunder brought a pitiful cry from you instead while you flinched. Jongup's held you even tighter and yet your body began to shake on its own with fear. A few tears leaked from your eyes. All of a sudden, he let you go and his hand was on your face. He brushed the wetness away and you could feel yourself blushing even harder at being caught crying. It was so childish and pathetic, being so scared of a storm at this age, and you hated him seeing you like this. You started to pull away but stopped when he moved closer. His lips touched yours and your eyes widened in surprise. He was kissing you?? No, that couldn't be right. This couldn't be happening. You jerked away from him. "Wha.." "Don't." he quickly said, cutting you off. He put his arm back around you. "You can sleep now, right?" Blinking in surprise, you realized there was a low rumble outside. Another lighting strike but you were so shocked over what he had done that you didn't even noticed the thunder it had caused. You pressed your lips together as a sharp twinge of pain came from your chest. The kiss didn't mean anything. He was just distracting you. That's all it was. Could you really hold it against him if he was helping you? Except... yes you could. You could be angry and hurt, if he knew how you felt about him. He held your hand on the hike to distract you from the pain in your legs, making it so you could reach the campsite. Now he kissed you to distract you from the storm. Yes he was helping, but he was manipulating you. Using your feelings for him against you. Like those feelings were no big deal. Resentment bloomed inside you and you shifted away from him, putting more space between the two of you. Thankfully he took the hint and pulled his arm back. Taking a cue from him, you used these new feelings as armor from the storm and forced yourself to fall asleep.
