bring back the habits that made you happy as a child. there’s no reason you should ever have to give up harmless things that bring you joy. you don’t have to age out of having fun. finger paint. write mediocre fanfiction and questionable poetry. put chocolate chips in your waffles. sing in the bath, and while working in the yard, and while washing your hands. hammer tunelessly on a piano. spin in circles until you fall down. climb a tree. just because you’re now in charge of your life doesn’t mean you’re expected to give up on the things that make life feel worth living

every single social interaction i've ever had has been complete guesswork

school schedules are designed in such a way that kids are deprived of adequate food and sleep. the sleep piece has been written on extensively, but it’s quite plain that requiring young people to wake up at 6am during the developmental phase when they need the most sleep and tend to stay up later is a terrible public health move. 

from an eating perspective, it’s just as bad. say a middle or high schooler eats breakfast (if they even eat breakfast) at 7am, then doesn’t eat lunch until 11-12 (and lunch is often inadequate), then has after-school activities, etc. and may not get home until late afternoon, or eat dinner until evening. and kids in school are not generally allowed to snack in class or given time to snack between classes. these gaps between eating times are way too big for adolescents! they need a lot of food–more than adults–to support the growth process, just as they need more sleep.

it’s no wonder many kids start eating reactively in their teens, especially after school or at night–they’re not being adequately fed during the day. even if kids aren’t restricted from eating freely/fully at home, their daily lives regularly involve periods of energy deficiency. add to that the social pressures around body size, and it’s a recipe for disorder at an epidemic level

I would be pretty surprised! I'd be like "where did u come from"? and they'd probably be sooo scared :( so I'd gently ask him "where are ur parents?" and I'd try to help him find his way back to his family! but little does he know that I am leading him to the Tiger room

homestuck fans?

hi guys, so i made a small discord server based on homestuck. theres two other ppl in there, and we're essentially grouping ourselves in the same categories as they do in homestuck (classpect, lunar sway). also theres roles for patron trolls :3 (it would be nice if you know these things as they apply to you before joining the server!!)

So as of right now the classpects we have are: -Sylph of Mind (me!!) -Mage of Mind (yes ik its double aspect but whatevs.) -Page of Life

so theoretically according to sburb lore i read here on tumblr we would need a space player (for absolute sure), then hopefully we could get a knight class and a time player too. lol this is gonna be so fun if we get to rp with this :)

we do a little bit of rebranding

So some of you have probably known me as my original URL, jjba-and-cats. So I made the decision to rebrand myself since I don't really want to focus specifically on jojo content anymore. Over the past year I have started to like other things like mcr, fall out boy, and homestuck (again, as i had liked it previously but forgot abt it for a bit). Some of the things I've reblogged/liked recently kind of reflected this, and now so does the entire blog theme. So yeah, I might get back to posting on here a bit more since school is over for me :)

I might start focusing on more of this, so homestuck and possibly more LGBTQIA+ content might be made in the future. I'm open to any other suggestions my mutuals have abt this tho
