JOHANNES BRAHMS: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 in D m, Op. 15 (42′) A long and tortuous path of creation was the one experienced by Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1, a reference in the entire history of the genre, which was originally a sonata and later a symphony project. The tragic background that has been beating since the early stages has been linked on many occasions to the deterioration and death of his friend Robert Schumann in 1856. With roots in the past and an eye on the future, which aroused at that time surprise and irritation in equal parts, here the young Brahms creates a work with a personal and unmistakable stamp that embodies at the same time the paradigm of romantic concert.
