working on chapter 7 of my fanfic!

lol this looks so silly. Itto's beetle battling some kid again lol. I don't think I have the capability to make anything normal 😅 I swear the chapter art will make more sense if you read it though

chapter 7 is kind of a chaotic mess with lots of things going on and yes I did that to myself but it's taking me a while to write but I have the chapter art done so here you go! I decided that since I made last chapter's art traditionally to match Gorou better I thought maybe I could make all of the chapters in Itto's perspective digitally because I think my digital style matches him better.

If you didn't know, my fanfic is about Itto and Gorou kind of going on their own self discovery journeys (basically figuring out that they're gay) and falling in love. But honestly it's full of silly little shenanigans and cute stuff and of course BEETLES 🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲 it's rated T for language, some violence, and kissing 😱 the main couple haven't actually kissed yet though.

This is my first fanfic and I'm just writing it for fun so don't expect anything too serious.

I'm gonna ramble bout my feelings and opinions if you don't mind

Why hoyoverse? like seriously, how is Arlan still the only playable character in honkai starail that isn't pasty white!? I don't think they're even trying at this point. I haven't really been keeping up with genshin much but I was genuinely excited to see more representation in Natlan. They threw that chance away and now I don't think that I want to keep playing. I know that this has been a problem for hoyoverse and I know that whitewashing and culturural appropriation is a big problem in other games, media and society, some places more than others. But if you're going to sell a game internationaly to cultures and people around the world and include characters and cultures based off of real ones, you kind of have to represent them accurately? I mean you can't just make everyone white. Different skin colors are a thing. Along with different face shapes, and hair textures, and body shapes. I understand the body shapes because they use the same models for all of them and I understand that it limits things but skin color is easy to change! It might be okay if hoyoverse does something similar to what the sims 4 did when they white washed the Goth family, they went back and fixed it! Hoyoverse has a place in my heart so I really wish and hope that it's redeemable. So please if you're gonna represent another culture, ASK PEOPLE OF THAT CULTURE or BASE THEM OF OF ACTUAL PEOPEL FROM THAT CULTURE sorry hoyoverse but you can't just use your imagination to represent an existing culture or people. Like please don't make a white character with cultural appropriate clothes and then stick on the name of an important person from that culture. And the hilichurls are a whole other thing, I don't even want to get into, like they based their dance off of a Native American dance(I know this was a while ago but still) and then made them monsters that we kill? Even though they were canonically people we still have to kill them, And why are they dark skinned? Hoyoverse made a whole monster race that are dark skinned and the characters in game see them as pests? Is this supposed to be some sort of social commentary or are the developers just racist and ignorant? I don't know all the lore about hilichurls but they seriously have to have been made with baises. I'm definitely rambling here but I'm upset, I've been upset, I know teyvat is fictional but it takes inspiration from real things and it affects real things and people. Seeing other people being represented badly, even seeing my people being represented badly seriously hurts. I and many many other people right now are hurt and angry at hoyoverse. There are many things for them to fix, but I think that skin color would be the best place to start, I don't know that much about Natlan but I think Sumeru could definitely use some help, please don't be afraid to give them a tan and make the "dark" skinned characters even darker, all I ask for now is to add more skin tone representation, some redesigns would be awsome too! There are some really cool fan made redesigns of the Sumeru characters. I'm sure there would be way more sales for the characters if they were more unique! Like that new Natlan Character literally just looks like another version of Kirara to me. If there were accurately represented characters they would honestly sell way better! If they released a dark skinned playable character honestly I would spend money and I'm a free to play.
