MAX JAGERMAN ANALYSIS!

SPOILERS!! rather vile language and some violent and inappropriate actions that are mentioned..

DEEPER ANALYSIS –more than just conjecture :

Literal monster -“He’s got the face of a saint, that post-pubescent strength, the hottest girl- yeah, he knocked her.” This indicates many ideas about Max that could be true, it is obvious he’s attractive by looks, however these lyrics also indicate he could’ve used his looks to his best advantage. It is known that Max likes to fuck, but he doesn’t seem to care about any girl BUT Grace. So, by ‘knocking’ the hottest girl, what does that do for him? It could just be his way of bragging or mocking everyone else, showing off his abilities. Or perhaps he just one day got in the mood and continued to act upon it.

“You have a girl, he’ll seduce her.” This line had me thinking, does Max go out of his way to seduce people’s (nerds?) girlfriends? Is it another way for him to ruin other’s lives? And I believe so due to further information later in the musical.

In the middle of the song, the music pauses as Max enters. “Hey, lipshitz!” And when Richie begins to correct him, he stammers and doesn’t even fully look back at Max before he pauses, which I think is because he had only then processed Max’s voice.

He also mentions remedial algebra, which is typically for those who struggle in algebra.

“Oh well there's a difference between intent and impact. I learned that at the anti-bullying assembly last month, fuck nugget.” He’s essentially ‘teaching’ reaching about antibullying and calling him dumb, hence “fuck nugget.” Max has a tenacity for quips like these that seem oddly witty. “I think for this hallway infraction, I’m gonna have to issue a flick-it-ticket"

When he does flick Richies balls, Richie quite literally doubles over? I’m sure it hurt, but then Max either has a really strong flick or Richie has weak balls.

“Hey Maxie! Lookie at what we got here!” (Kyle) This line sort of reminded me of Wiggly, but I wanted to point out the nickname used for Max, who doesn’t seem to be bothered by the nickname, which could potentially add to his relationship with his friends despite Max’s cruel nature.

In this scene, Max seems to stand still in a less intimidating stance while looking at Grace, typically like a boy admiring his crush, which is exactly what he’s doing. Though as his friends insult her, he looks at them as if offended and surprised. He then continues to play along, almost building up Kyle’s confidence about his insult before he punches Kyle and then mocks his grunts of pain.

He initially seems nice to Grace, asking her what she’s doing before continuing to laugh at her joke and compliment her. He then requests to carry her books but is then rejected. I won’t really get into this scene as I don’t have much to say, but I’d like to point out that Max slightly nods and tilts his head along with Grace after she says her “I am only one man's girl Max, and his name is Jesus Christ” Which could either be him still trying to convince her to like him or a genuine show of attraction, perhaps something else such as annoyance

He also seemingly does that tongue thing where he runs it across the inside of his cheek, after she leaves, I assume this is temporary acceptance and defeat, as he continues to compliment her, “Yeah, isnt she great?” Indicating he isn’t too bothered by the rejection.

He then expresses why he wants Grace- “forbidden fruit” and shows how determined he is before the song continues. I still only have conjecture about this part.

During the choreo, Max and Kyle seem to almost collaborate. This is likely to convey how his friends follow what hes doing at almost all times. I also love how the nerds creep behind him as if trying to hide.

His encounter with Pete at Pasqualli’s - Which I assume Max is there to hook up or hang out with someone or someone’s. I also like how he tells the crowd to shut up, a 4th wall break if you Will. But this is just another show of his control.

“What’s your button-chode doing on my turf?” I notice Max has a wide vocabulary of insults and ways to mock others.

There is really no winning against him, not only shown by how Max later beats Peter, but how he at first instills fear within Peter by asking if he thought he was better for being rich, only to then be disgusted when Peter immediately tries to resolve the situation.

He immediately becomes more aggressive when Peter says hes not scared, and it is obvious Max strives off fear. The fact that a lowly nerd has begun to try and revolt against him causes a much bigger consequence than what was likely to happen.

“I did not consent to this rendez-voos!” I adore how he doesn’t pronounce certain words, which is likely to provide the audience with the idea that Max isn’t book smart, but he doesn’t need to be smart when he uses brute strength, which I think is likely how he carried the football team.

“You’re not a nerd because of your glasses or your pimple dick, you’re a nerd because I said so.” I think a lot of people may overlook this line, Max decides whos a nerd and who’s not simply because he goes by HIS rules, and he ensures that everyone else follows. He’s built some sort of empire of Hatchet field high.

Bully the bully – I think when max enters, he’s already tipsy as he holds an open beer can. He then entertains(?) himself by singing a bit and hopping forward, which is an odd display of Joy that I assume would be very rare from Max unless drunk or something.

“Hey steph! It’s the Jagermeister!” This line is iconic, especially since Jagermeister is a beer brand and he introduces himself as such while holding beer, which I am unsure of how he obtained, but that’s like for a headcannon post. I believe he did this intentionally.

I wanted to point out Grace’s hand movement with “And once we get him walking..” Her arm movements look pretty similar to Max’s later but reversed.

“I’ve been scared of you my whole life! But its time to stop running” And Max continues to scare Pete away before flexing and expressing confidence, “I am Jagerman! Go nighthawks!” Pride for himself and his school

- “I’m so fucking scared of Skele-uns! Maybe I should just run! Where Max? Back home so dad can call you a little cuck?” Max likely seems to have some childhood problems along with problems with his dad, which explains his childish fears and why he’s the way he is, which essentially leads to Vil.N.Melling’s analysis.

“Steph, we can't have a party here. This place is hella haunted! - Get behind me, I’ll protect you!” Max seems to show genuine protection of Steph, his friend. I think Max does care for his friends in some odd, complicated way as he does want to protect Steph.

The rest has mostly been covered so I'll skip to his death, “Look at what you fucking nerds made me do! I pissed my fucking pants!” Which means he's barely even mad that he’s just been impaled by whatever he fell through, but he's mad that he was humiliated and his ego was damaged, like what Grace planned.

Nerdy prudes must die- his reappearance. I don’t want to restate things that have been stated already by other people in their analysis’, but I want to highlight how Richie sort of replaced Max in a way or at least became accepted, thus breaking Max’s empire.

“I’m on a new crusade” here is where you sort of see his arms move in a way similar to Grace, which could still be conjecture. But it's not a surprise if it is in fact a parallel considering the parallels that are already present.

I want to mention how the “I’m not a loser” motif plays when each nerd finds what they always wanted in life, as it is important later. (Thanks to my friend for this specific statement) And Max then takes that thing away, Richie wanted to be accepted, Ruth wanted to act, and Pete would have died for Steph, which is why he tries to kill her first. He’s taking what each nerd wants and then destroys it.

Ghost Max also seems to have a lot more quips, especially puns such as “In fact, I just put the moves on this total smoke show. She gave me head in her car!” I also wanted to say he acts kind of feral, and I get why he may be compared to a dog or were-wolf as ghost max, especially how he runs.

‘cool as I think I am’ Max then enters and prevents Pete from sacrificing himself to stop himself from dying (again) and because he wants to take Steph away from Pete, who was so ready to die for her. He wants to kill Pete TWICE, by taking Steph and then his actual life.

Max still doesnt see Grace as a nerd even if she got everyone else into this mess anyway, and Max still obviously likes her. I find it kind of ironic how Max mentions that he loves being a ghost and Grace was technically the one who set that up for him before taking that same exact thing away, like how he killed the nerds.

‘I am Jagerman! I am God!” After he gets down with Grace (how else do i word this...) Another show of pride for himself and an addition to his god complex.

“Dont you want to cuddle a little bit?” He has after-care as a priority, which is oddly sweet for Max.

I also think the reason why he allowed Grace to give him her Chasity was not only because he really wanted to, but because he already believed she was freaky and if she was a freak as he stated, then it wouldn’t be connected to what she cherished most.

“WHAT EVER! IT WAS FUCKING WORTH IT, GO NIGHTHAWKS!!” Was a fitting way for Max to go, still holding onto his pride and school in which he peaked in, which is a contrast to his first death where he was humiliated. He was already going to be nothing after high-school, which is why he was more than glad to be a ghost and be able to kill nerds, which may be a reason as to why he decided that it was worth it in the end. FIRST TAKES – FROM FIRST WATCH

• Grace is said to be "forbidden fruit", and his friends also ask why her? Max could have ANYONE ELSE.

• But because Grace doesn't want him nor grovels at his feet, she's forbidden fruit. she doesn't seem to want to date or indulge in anything romantic or sexual. Meaning she's the reserved girl Max sees her as but as he says she would be the freakiest because she's reserved but also maybe he wants the freak, you could also ask, why would he want her for those reasons if he wants people to grovel at his feet? Because he also chooses WHO is a nerdy prude perhaps, he wants her because how he could have anyone else? Not her. He is stated to have a God complex as well. So, he wants what he can't have because he has the needs to have whatever he wants and TGWDLM stated many people don't like Grace. • Any who my other takes on max: • - his dad's a jerk, he refuses to run away because his dad will call him a cuck, hinting at an abusive father. Which could be a factor as to WHY he needs to be a "god" and must be the one on top.

• - star of the football team (this probably feeds his ego)

• - has childish fears such as skeleuns and ghosts (childhood trauma?)

• - maybe because naturally people chose not to be nice to him, he is the way he is. As shown after bully the bully, the nicest thing anyone has done was try to scare the shit out of him. •

• - would rather die than be humiliated? (Literally) instead of being like "YOU MADE ME GET STABBED THROUGH THE CHEST!' he yells "YOU MADE ME PISS MY PANTS!" which was their initial plan so he's humiliated and would lead to him NOT being at the top anymore, which is probably why it's so important to him •

• - literal monster, he's ruthless and a terrible person, nonetheless. Nothing can really justify him, but he started to redeem himself because he realized, "these nerds may not be so bad" because they set up the whole scare thing, which backs up my point that perhaps people just never tried to be nice to him (which is reasonable)

• - high-school is his peak, I got this one from the beginning of the analysis video, but it got me thinking. He is said to be scared to what will happen after high school, he'd become something he'd hate. A nerdy prude, which was starting to happen before he died since he appreciated what the nerdy prudes did for him. Which also makes me think about his father, and his obvious daddy issues because his father calls him things like a little cuck, which once again was likely a factor to why he's so strong and why he yearns to be a God and the ruler. But sometimes people can't completely change, which is why despite being so evil, he decided for a moment that "Yeah these nerds are nice actually, they aren't so bad" which means he could potentially become one as he accepts them • - "the world's just much too well behaved.." while doing a similar hand/arm movement to Grace Chasity which could indicate something important

• FROM MAX ANALYSIS VIDEO:

• - Golden Child syndrome, (narcissistic parent)

• - aware of down fall after high-school

• - takes advantage of school life if can't at home

• - likely emotionally abused

• - Although a typical bully and villain character, he isn't exactly stereotypical.

• - he runs things HIS way

• - once he decides something, to him it is true, and he is right

• EX: often mischaracterized and likely a little more complex to write, a simple AI seems to be unable to capture his character very well. His stupidity seems to have to be written and objectified by someone who understand the NPMD humor and Max's character well. Some still claim he wants revenge and he's a spirit looking for revenge, which is completely wrong.

CONNECTED HEADCANNONS

His dad possibly supports Max’s drinking or is too busy /tried to know or notice that Max even drinks, likely from some kind of job. maybe he steals from his dad or even steals his money to go out and buy his own beer.

I also think Max may be familiar with Judas because his dad or family could’ve been religious enough that some of it was enforced on Max.

I plan to dive deeper into some other headcannons in the future, and if I get any more analysis ideas.
