Years ago, I was a trainer like you. I had a team full of Pokemon I loved and cherished.

But...things happened, and I became unable to take care of them all properly.

I tried hard to keep going, to do my best to take care of them despite that, but their needs just weren't being met.

So I traded most of them away, to close friends of mine.

All I have left now is my Meowstic, Sticks.

Even so, I still video call with my friends, and can see my teammates again. It's different, sure. But it's not a true goodbye.

Point is, you still have Oliver, and in a way, you still have Cinder too. You'll still be able to see Cinder over video calls, even if it's not quite what you were hoping.

I know it hurts a lot. I know it's scary.

But maybe one day, you'll meet again, and it'll be everything you dreamed of.

For now, though, you still have Oliver. Take good care of them.

...It feels very strange to not be the one having troubles with interpersonal interaction today. Likely because I have done very little of it today, but still, I will not complain.

Very slow day at the League. It is as good an opportunity as any to discuss options for making Victory 'Road' safer and more straightforward while not detracting from the important aspect of it being a challenge.

Why do i even fucking bother trying to be open and ask people for help when they just give me the most dead eyed response and tell me it's all my fault. i KNOW that fucking strategy, it's the one where someone deliberately dulls their emotional responses as much as possible so that i feel hysterical by contrast, and i fucking hate that she still has the gall to act like she's doing it for my benefit.

It's meant to be a final non-battle test for trainers.

It's not supposed to be a simple road. It's supposed to be some of the toughest things that nature has to offer. It's meant to make sure you know how to survive out in the wilderness, how to stay safe in grueling conditions, how to navigate and find your way, all with the help of your Pokemon.

Because if you can't do that, then you're probably not fit to be champion. It's not about just who's the strongest battler, it's about who can work together with their Pokemon the best.

Just look up the Galar champion's sense of direction and how they don't have a Victory Road, and you'll see why Victory Road is a necessity. Fantastic battler he may be, he would never find his way out of Kalos' Victory Road.
