The postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 due to a Covid-19 outbreak will not cost the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) anything but the franchises will have to suffer heavy financial losses, Quoting a source privy to the matter, the English daily said that it's the franchises that will come off worse due to the league's postponement. “If we look at financial aspects only the luggage cost of a team is Rs10 million," the source said. "And when these players reassemble again to complete the event equipment of Rs10m will have to be purchased. The source further detailed how the players have already been paid a large chunk of their salaries and how the re-assembling of the squad will see the cost soar some more. “The players get 70 percent of their payment in advance and the remaining 30 percent is given to them after the completion of the event," the source said. "Besides this franchises also bear their air-fare expenses. In case the event is resumed air-fare cost will double." #psl #psl2021 #psl #pakistancricketteam #PakistanCricketTeam https://www.instagram.com/p/CMCSA_Igx8j/?igshid=9zmzsqaa99fo

WhatsApp chats to Telegram, here's how you can do it However, Telegram says destination chat should be new or have less than 1000 messages Telegram has now rolled out a feature through which its users can export chats from other messaging apps onto it. However, Telegram, citing a minor setback, said in the export option, if the destination chat is new or has less than 1000 messages, everything will be seamlessly sorted by its original date and time. The third time appeared to be the charm for Elon Musk’s Starship rocket — until it wasn’t. The latest heavy-duty launch vehicle prototype from SpaceX soared flawlessly into the sky in a high-altitude test blast-off on Wednesday from Boca Chica, Texas, then flew itself back to Earth to achieve the first upright landing for a Starship model. But the triumph was short-lived. Listing slightly to one side as an automated fire-suppression system trained a stream of water on flames still burning at the base of the rocket, the spacecraft blew itself to pieces about eight minutes after touchdown. It was the third such landing attempt to end in a fireball after an otherwise successful test flight for the Starship, being developed by SpaceX to carry humans and 100 tons of cargo on future missions to the moon and Mars. For Musk, the billionaire SpaceX founder who also heads the electric carmaker Tesla Inc, the outcome was mixed news. The Starship SN10 came far closer to achieving a safe, vertical touchdown than two previous models — SN8 in December and SN9 in February. In a tweet, responding to tempered congratulations from an admirer of his work, Musk replied, “RIP SN10, honorable discharge.” The video feed provided by SpaceX on the company’s YouTube channel cut off moments after the landing. Separate fan feeds, however, streamed over the same social media platform showed an explosion suddenly erupting at the base of the rocket, hurling the SN10 into the air before it crashed to the ground and became engulfed in flames. The complete Starship rocket, which will stand 120 metres tall when mated with its super-heavy first-stage booster, is SpaceX’s next-generation fully reusable launch vehicle — the centre of Musk’s ambitions to make human space travel more affordable and routine. A first orbital Starship flight is planned for year’s end. Musk has said he intends to fly Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa around the moon with the Starship in 2023. #elonmusknews #elonmusk #spacex #spacexlaunch #japan https://www.instagram.com/p/CMArI9BgrKD/?igshid=1notji9blf8fy

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani on Sunday revealed that the board has asked International Cricket Council (ICC) to provide written confirmation that players, fans and journalists will be given visas for the ICC T20 Word Cup scheduled later this year in India. Talking to media at a press conference after the PCB Board of Governors (BoG) meeting in Karachi, the 75-year-old said that the cricket body has a meeting with ICC on Monday and they will raise the issue again. “I have told the PCB Board of Governors that we have asked the ICC that we need written confirmation that our players, fans and journalists in particular will be issued visas,” he said. “I have already taken up this issue with the ICC and tomorrow I have a virtual meeting with the world body and will raise this again.” Mani, who held the conference along with PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan and National High Performance Centre (NHPC) Director Nadeem Khan, said that ICC have assured us that we would get the confirmation this month as it’s our constitutional right. “Now the T20 World Cup will either be held in India with full protocols or it will have to be shifted anywhere else,” the chairman said. Mani highlighted that India is facing multiple issues regarding hosting the mega event including Pakistan’s visa issue, tax exemption and Covid-19 situation. “It seems that India is being hit by another Covid spike,” he said. “ICC have already decided in its contingency plan if the event cannot be organised in India then it will be held in the UAE. The ICC management wants to decide about the matter by March 31.” #pcb #uae #instagoods #pakistancricketteam #indiancricket #t20cricket #t20 https://www.instagram.com/p/CL30lhuge14/?igshid=15tfgq7r9q3a0

ISLAMABAD: With most of the Covid-related restrictions having been relaxed despite lukewarm response of even health workers to the government-run vaccination campaign, health experts fear a resurgence in number of cases that may compel the government to declare a third wave of coronavirus in the country. As 1,176 Covid-19 cases were reported in a day, the health experts Dawn spoke to were of the opinion that the government should have given priority to public health rather than financial concerns and advised the authorities to lift the restrictions only after ensuring that 70pc population has been vaccinated against the deadly disease. Earlier on Feb 24, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Covid relaxed most of the restrictions on commercial activities, schools, offices and other workplaces, allowing them to function at full strength. Under the directives, time limit on commercial activities has been lifted and condition of 50 per cent attendance at workplaces removed. Schools have been asked to function five days a week with full strength. Permission to hold indoor wedding ceremonies and opening of cinemas and shrines has been granted with effect from March 15. The decision to allow indoor dining will depend on the outcome of the review meeting to be held on March 10. The NCOC also allowed increase in number of spectators attending Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches from 20pc to 50pc and permitted full attendance during play-offs with stringent standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Election Commission of Pakistan has also been allowed to hold local bodies and cantonment board elections by the end of May or early June. Doctors want govt to review decisions, with improved focus on vaccination While talking to Dawn, Secretary General of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Dr Qaisar Sajjad said: “We are living in a society where people do not follow the SOPs. They even laugh at those wearing face masks. We have already observed the results of lifting of restrictions in September last year when 100 to 200 daily cases were being reported, and within a month the government had to declare a second wave of coronavirus,” he said. #pakistan https://www.instagram.com/p/CL3Kah3gYCD/?igshid=1496faab62kfp

LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday announced that Pakistan and Qatar had signed an LNG deal, saying that it will help the country save $300mn annually. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Central Business District ceremony in Lahore, the prime minister said that his government had been trying to negotiate this deal for the past one year. "When a difficult time comes upon the nation, a country has to think of 'out-of-the-box' solutions," he said. "Pakistan went through a decade of darkness," he added. The prime minister had said Pakistan was facing a fiscal deficit due to which it was forced to take foreign loans due to which the country's reserves declined and its currency lost its worth. "These problems were inherited by this government," he said, adding that the government cannot solve this problem until and unless it generates wealth. Touching upon the LNG deal with Qatar, the prime minister said that he was proud to announce that Pakistan will save $300mn each year as a result of the deal. "And in 10 years' time, Pakistan will save $3bn," he said. Central business district, Ravi project to generate wealth in Pakistan The prime minister hailed the Business District Project in Lahore, saying that these will generate wealth in the billions for Pakistan. He said that it was time to stop Lahore from expanding horizontally, recalling that when he was a child, the city ended at Zaman Park. "The first phase [of the Central Business District] project, the federal government will earn Rs250bn from taxes," he said. The prime minister said when the Walton airport is de-notified as per the project's plan, tall buildings can be constructed in Gulberg and Ferozepur road. "These areas can then become the economic hub for Lahore," said the prime minister, lamenting that Lahore's horizontal expansion had caused a mirage of problems of the city. "The entire city's sewerage is going in River Ravi," he said. "This sewerage is going down the river. A lot of people drink water from the rivers," he said, adding that even the water table of Lahore was declining. #imrankhan #pti #qatar #businessnews #businesstrade #pakistan https://www.instagram.com/p/CLwU7yzg7Jp/?igshid=700szyrvno35

The seventh match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be played between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars at National Stadium Karachi on Friday (today). Sultans will be desperate for a win as they remain pointless after they lost their first two matches against Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi with close margins. Meanwhile, Qalandars could not have asked for a better start as they stay on top of the table after winning their games against Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. The two teams have faced each other seven times in PSL’s history with Qalandars winning four times while Sultans were triumphant in the remaining three. In the match today, though, Qalandars will be without their star all-rounder, Rashid Khan, who left the tournament after being called for national duty. The team might replace him with Joe Denly to add some strength to their batting and use Samit Patel as the fifth bowler. Sultans, on the other hand, have their batting covered but are struggling with having quality experienced fast bowling. Toss will also play a crucial role as all the teams batting second in PSL so far have won their matches, making the contest among them very predictable. Match starts at 3pm on Friday (today) and will be broadcasted live on Geo Super. Squads: Lahore Qalandars: Sohail Akhtar (C), Ben Dunk (wk), David Wiese, Dilbar Hussain, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hafeez, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Rashid Khan, Joe Denly, Samit Patel, Tom Abell, Zeeshan Ashraf, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Faizan, Maaz Khan, Zaid Alam, Ahmed Danyal Multan Sultans: Mohammad Rizwan (C/wk), James Vince, Khushdil Shah, Chris Lynn, Sohaib Maqsood, Shan Masood, Usman Qadir, Shahid Afridi, Carlos Brathwaite, Sohail Khan, Rilee Rossouw, Adam Lyth, Imran Tahir, Sohaibullah, Shahnawaz Dhani, Sohail Tanvir, Imran Khan, Mohammad Umar #lahorevsmultan #multansultans #lahoreqalandars #psl #psl6 #pcb #cricket #t20 https://www.instagram.com/p/CLv2hNIgfjo/?igshid=646sixpw3zn8
