Yep it’s most likely that variant, or possibly another variant. Or both. He’s gonna be in Avengers Doomsday. They announced that Tom will be in it.

This fandom is literally a prison. I hate to be negative and I never thought that I’d say this, but i usually scroll away from Loki content nowadays because I’m so annoyed by the comments, and by other fans. And it sucks because at one point, he was my main and pretty much only interest. He’s always going to have a place in my heart but it’s soooo difficult to stay in the fandom. It’s hard to be in a fandom when most people in it don’t love the character as much as you do. There’s nowhere for you to share all that love with other people. (Besides here of course. Appreciate you guys heavily)

I like coming on here from time to time, but UGH I’m just so done with all the bs. Corporate greed and shitty writers who do not respect previous works/writers will be the death of us

It’s just so crazy because I’ve never had a fandom experience like this. Of course I’ve had bad fandom experiences, we all have. But I’ve never felt… so alienated(?) from other supposedly like minded people like this. I hate being in a VERY popular fandom where people only casually like the character you love, and do not question anything. Small fandoms for the win, always. I don’t feel any superiority over any other Loki fans, I respect that they casually like Loki and all it’s just I wish there were less of them, and that there were more dedicated fans. But this is also the MCU I’m talking about. It fucking sucks and most people can only like it casually, or use the characters as bases for their fanfics and shit

I love and hate how vaguely Loki was written. It brings in really cool people, and it also brings in people who try to fill in those “blanks” with cliches and characterizations of other characters. They don’t even try to consider what would Loki be like… what would he say… what would he do… nah, let’s just treat him as if he’s like every other character.

No hate to anyone I’m just so tired of it all. I’m more annoyed at the positive reactions to Loki being in doomsday than I am annoyed by him being in doomsday. You guys should know better. This fucking sucks stop taking the bait

I of course love the quote/moment with Frigga in the deleted scene my pfp is from. I know it’s a deleted scene, but I can imagine Loki using his illusions as an escape from reality. As a way to cope.

A favorite Loki moment of mine is his convo about his parentage with Odin in Thor 1. It’s very raw, and vulnerable. Very, VERY important to his characterization. Amazingly acted by Tom Hiddleston as always. So I am no more than another stolen relic… he really has a way with words whether people forget that, or not.

Not a specific moment, but I really love moments of his where he’s projecting onto the people he’s “analyzing”. For example: the cage scene with Natasha, and his Stuttgart speech. Everything he said to Natasha and the Stuttgart crowd, could also be said about him. I find that really interesting of him. He’s obviously very perceptive of others and himself, but I feel that perception sometimes PURPOSELY falls short when he wants to prune himself of traits he deems weak. He wants to make these traits so “other” from him. Fake it until you make it. Take them from you, and cast them onto others.. Very hypocritical guy I love him

Obviously I’m going to have to add that one quote where he is burdened with some sort of glorious purpose, or something along those lines… it’s a really good defining/signature quote and gives you some good insight into how his mind works, and how he views what he’s been through/what he’s going to accomplish.

I THINK IT WOULD BE REALLY INTERESTING IF HE MET GAMORA AND NEBULA… I wonder if they encountered each other during his time with Thanos. It could be good, or really bad for him to be with people who were also fucked over by Thanos.

I like the guardians so I’d like to see them together if it were executed well. As well as the Thanos connections… yeah it could be interesting

Hello @gloriousburden! Hope this message finds you well! I'm writing in response to the latest unused Loki series concept art that has surfaced, causing everyone to lose their minds and ask "why didn't they use this in the show?!?!!"

I think in the backs of our minds we all know the answer, or answers. These hopeful, passionate, hardworking artists who submit their incredible artwork in hopes of being considered for use in a show about Loki, were under the impression that the show would be about Loki. It is not. If the showrunners had decided to use this concept art of Loki and his Frost Giant mother, the show would've been about Loki, and would've been about him too much. They know that Loki fans have wanted something, anything, like this for a very long time, and I don't think they could live with themselves if they actually gave it to us. Let us remember that there was concept art for Endgame with Loki showing up for the final battle, leading an army of Frost Giants, and riding on an ICE DRAGON.

Also, if they had gone with this concept of showing Loki and his Jotun origin in a more sympathetic light, they would never have been able to squeeze out an ounce of sympathy for Poor Sylvie, and her aspirations as Employ of The Month at McDonald's, or Poor Mobius, and his pining for that all-important jet ski. This show only has room for one Sad Story, and though they wanted Poor Sylvie to take it all, alas she had to share it with the humble, hardworking variant pruner/ hapless jet ski connoisseur. So you can see how even the mention of such things as Loki's Jotun mother was completely out of the question.

I can't be the only one who has noticed that the MCU has been softly conditioning us to think of the concept of Frost Giant Loki as...silly. Disarming and goofy, rather than tragic and sympathetic, or, God forbid, epic and powerful. They like to pull Frost Giant Loki out to tease us from time to time, but they have no intention of doing it in any respectful, dignified way.

They actually would have had to think about Loki’s emotional state, and inner conflicts. They’d actually have to think about Loki and about how to write him, and that was… TOO SCARY!!! It’s so scary to think about Loki. It’s scary when the series you’re working on has to be about the protagonist in one way or another :/

I genuinely still do not understand why Loki couldn’t be the main focus of his own series. Why did they choose to write it like that.. who was the target audience? Not Loki fans, that’s for sure.

Yes it was for the series AND it was only concept art, which is why I do not take it canon. It has a lot of inconsistencies as well of course.

I don’t think I’ve seen people actually taking it as canon. If people are doing that… Um 😭 I honestly think people are just excited to finally get crumbs of “lore” that we can actually engage in, since it has to do with pre series stuff. Most people i follow have criticized certain aspects of it.

So Marvel has released some concept art about Loki's birth mom and it's showing her as full Jotun, sans nipples and all.

It looks sweet, ngl, but....

I'm honestly well beyond being surprised or disappointed in their below par efforts to make any kind of sense with respect to the established canon, still... this disappointed me. Like, make it make sense. Even in his Jotun form Loki doesn't look like a regular Jotun. His markings aren't the same, his teeth aren't like them, he's definitely got nipples (she doesn't have nipples). His being smaller in size is not Jotun dwarfism; it doesn't work that way.

So what the fuck is this concept art?

At least this one shows her markings being similar to Loki's, but still...

Honouring the established canon of the original movies requires answering all these questions. There should be some kind of in-universe explanation for Loki being the way he is, physically. That concept art answers none of these questions.

While it's nice to see that Loki's mother loved(loves?) him, her concept art depiction doesn't match the established canon of the original movies.
