So I'm deep in maurader era Harry Potter fanfiction (as one does as a recent college graduate anxious to feel like I did when I was young)

Rebirth and all that...

This is months late but easter and trans day of visibility being on the same day is so poetically resonant… like… yes,,, it's all about being reborn,,, coming back as who you are meant to be.

Yes, I am reborn. It happened when I was thirteen and small I whispered the words "not a girl" into the cold air, a secret only between me and a god I barely believed in. And it was then, on that day I can't remember, that I was reborn into who I am. And I am reborn every day, a constant changing that I embrace with joy.

I used to think that being trans was a refusal. Refusing girlhood, refusing gender, refusing what I was supposed to be. But that was then. Now, almost a decade later, I know that being nonbinary and trans and queer is all about acceptance of the parts of me I had hidden or rejected. I reject nothing about myself. I accept it all.

I reread The Secret History and am completely chilled by how much danger Richard is in. From the moment he knows about the first murder, the group is always othering him in a way that sets him up for failure. You don't realize it immediately but when you do… man those people are ready to blame him for murder. Having him go see the movies,,, leaving him on his own,,, their whispered conversations,,, yeah those people are not your friends Richard. pls run

reread @sizzlingsandwichperfection-blog's Turtles All the Way Down in anticipation of the movie coming out and oh boy. He did it again.
