oh damn

so I know I'm not super-active on here anymore, but i hit 300K followers on here, and i'm feeling a little sentimental at 1:30 in the morning.

13 years ago, I started this tumblr out of sheer desperation. I was 21 years old and fresh out of college, I knew I wanted to be a voice actor, had no idea how that would ever be achievable, no one knew who I was. I decided to make this Tumblr to practice voice acting and I pledged to make an audio post every single day. I did this without fail for years.

I started out doing fandubs and comic dubs and reading shitposts, anything I could think of. My Lackadaisy dubs were the first thing that got real traction, I'll always be thankful to Tracy for reblogging those (and yes, it is insanely surreal to think that a decade later I would be voicing Mordecai in an animated version for real).

I improved exponentially by posting here every day. I was entirely self-taught, I've never taken a class, I just practiced every day (even when there were countless days I wanted to give up) and through sheer force of will, I started to improve.

Everything I have achieved in my life so far is because of this Tumblr. I truly could not have ever dreamed of being where I'm at now and what I have accomplished. So whether you know me from my old shitposts or comic dubs or Goofy posts or Vines or YouTube videos or my professional voice acting roles, I just want to say thank you for your support. It's been a crazy ride. Looking forward to what comes next.

said virus has only a 30% mortality rate (according to the episode) and moira only sped up the incubation time of the virus, not the strength

we didnt see his body

yk im listening to midnight burger and i keep saying it's disney xd coded so for some reason i decided to sort the audio dramas i've listened to into what network they'd be on if they were adapted into a kids tv show for god knows why.

the magnus archives - prime video but like one of those weird mystery shows where everything just turns out to be magic related to the main characters upbringing that they never knew about. think just add magic.

the magnus protocol - also prime video because it's the spin off series of the magnus archives where they pass the weird shit on to some new poor unsuspecting girl group (and sam.)

red valley - cartoon network. i don't really have an explanation for this aside from vibes. i just feel like they do the comically evil hot woman thing justice, and that's what bryony deserves.

archive 81 - netflix. because they'd cancel it abruptly. (also that's like the reality but THIS ONE WOULD BE GOOD OK I SWEAR)

malevolent - pbs kids. my only justification for this is that i remember a lot of talking animals on pbs kids, and in my world arthur is a walking talking blind otter.

the strange case of starship iris -nickelodeon. because i can vividly picture them on a very cheap looking spaceship set.

Ways to categorize cases/externals/genral spooky things in the TMAGP universe

1: Smirkes 14 (+1) - hard to do (each case can apply to 3+ fears, no case nearly fits into just one) but makes the most sense to the human mind (I tend to assign fears to cases when I listen to help myself summarize and process what just happens)

2: Tría Prima: Salt for the body, mercury for the mind, sulphur for the soul - physical, psychological, existential horrors. The cases fit much better into these categories, and it’s relatively easy to comprehend and categorize, but the categorization tells us essentially nothing about the cases unlike Smirkes 14 (+1)

3: DPHW numbers, a measure of the level of death, pain, helplessness (inevitability or compulsion kinda), and weirdness (think uncanny valley) hard for a human to scale and to understand (I needed a spreadsheet to make even the smallest amount of sense) but really great and informative for a computer database like Freddie - takes into account that there are different shades of everything that’s going on (Like Colors But If Comors Hated Ne)

A guide to Adventure/02′s Crests and how they tie into their respective characters

I find that the Crests are best described as helpful guides to best summarize each Adventure/02 character’s personal arc, especially since both series tend to be a bit overly subtle and benefit from having something with concrete symbolism, but I seriously, seriously warn against oversimplifying them too much; it’s made very clear within the series that the respective Crests carry a lot more meaning than can be summarized in a single word, and moreover, have different nuances between the versions in Adventure and 02 as well.

With that in mind, let’s take a thorough look and dig in!
