fabian saying this about kristen is so earnest and based in a place of such true deep friendship and understanding, and in a way I feel like it applies to ally as a player as well - which kinda makes sense if you think about how kristen was their first PC and in the way of first PCs probably manifests a lot of aspects of themself. so if you think about it, this is also lou saying this about ally and that just makes me wanna cry THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH

So the whole “Batman’s mission is impossible and futile” thing is… eh, to me, because I feel like the read on Batman should be like. The fable about the girl throwing baby turtles into the ocean, knowing she can’t save them all from the seagulls swooping in to eat them. It shouldn’t be this nihilistic hopeless thing. Batman’s perspective shouldn’t be “I can’t save everyone so it’s meaningless and everything I do is just self-punishment”, it should be “It means everything to the people I CAN save.”

I saw a couple people saying that maybe Eugenia Shadow was part of Arthur Aguefort's original adventuring party, and that got me thinking about the possibility of the OG staff of the Adventuring Academy all being made up of his party members, who worked together to take down Kalvaxus

Like, maybe they were short-staffed in the beginning because they were just starting out, so Arthur originally pulled double duty as the wizarding professor and the principal. Maybe he had a huge, thirteen-person party, or there were just a bunch of multiclassers that were teaching two---or even three---classes at once.

...Now I kinda wanna see a prequel sidequest

A kid with words that fit as well as his clothes, a rehearsed personality and purpose. A funhouse mirror, a reflection of Kristen that is so obviously wrong. The shirts hung too loose on her; her sentences were punctuated with question marks instead of periods.

In many ways, it is easier for Buddy, and in other ways, that’s made his life harder.

A deeply closeminded grandfather. A church that prioritizes his devotion to them over their devotion to him. A life that is determined for him.

A best friend who would slit his throat.

He did not have to question any of it, and now he’s lost the chance to.

Riz’s voice cuts through Kristen’s thoughts. Assurance that yes, they will figure out this mystery, yes, they will try to revive Buddy, yes, they will always help her—but first they have to get out of this room.

Kristen listens. She has doubted enough to know what to trust.

Through the remainder of the exam, Kristen keeps an eye on Buddy: a witness to him that she was meant to be to Helio.

Of course, she was the only one to see what truly happened to him.
