Courtney Whitmore/Cindy Burman:
Courtney and Cindy are such interesting foils for each other!!! They're both fairly impulsive and brash, both mean in their own ways, both have issues with their fathers, and yet they're so different and their stories go so differently. Cindy is a villain, but would she be one if not for her desire for her father's approval? If he didn't abuse her? Courtney is a hero but would she be one if didn't want to prove something to her step-dad ("If you're a superhero playing dad, then I'm a daughter playing superhero")? If she wasn't an asshole teen? Neither of them are really likeable and neither of them necessarily have an independent desire to be a hero/villain—that character development comes later on for both of them!! They're so so interesting together because of how they reflect each other's flaws and motivations!!!!! Plus, their civilian identities in my opinion are very mean girl/loser girl high school tropes in a really interesting way. And that's not even getting into later comics like JSA where Cindy becomes like specifically "Courtney's" villain every time the Injustice League shows up!!!!!!!!!! A vote for StarShiv is a vote for toxic loser yuri.
Koriand'r/Donna Troy:
They care about each other so much… donnakory my beloved…

damian lying about how his life with the league was for dramatic effect (à la slice the baby saturday) could be very funny when paired with chris, who very much is not lying. damian’s like “i had to earn my breakfast every morning. scavenge for food while being hunted every assassin in the buliding. ...by 5am” and chris is like “oh that sucks :( when i was younger with my birth parents in the phantom zone, sometimes they’d kick me out of where we were staying and make me find my way back before i died in the zone. i think that’s what they wanted. if i couldn’t survive by myself i wasn’t the son they wanted anyway. parents do the weirdest things haha” and damian is like “...no?”

James Jesse/Dan Cassidy:
"I still think Cassidy's a jerk" - James Jesse approximately one issue before having the entire course of his life changed by him. They are the sillies ever, and so funny, but more importantly during a period where the Rogues were getting darker and darker, James had ONE adventure with Dan Cassidy and decided he liked himself better with him and reformed to be with him. Barry Allen didn't manage to make James do that in 24 years AND IT LASTED 20! James' dynamic with Dan influenced his character for the better part of two decades!
Everything DC says about them is so intensely gay, "James found a kindred spirit in the hero and their fights turned from menacing to playful" "Dan helped James find legit work after he reformed and introduced him to his civilian friend group", "James had a picture of Dan in his office that he looked at every time he considered unreforming". They defeated Neron TOGETHER in Underworld Unleashed! James even trained Eddie! Training another man's sidekick is the most two dads thing you can do! And all three of them are tied irreversibly to Neron now! Devilfam is real!
Also, after the Top resets James' personality back to before he met Dan (Geoff Johns did it don't worry about it), James suddenly has an internalized homophobia problem he never had before? I'm not sure what this means?
Anyway if you're a James is gay believer Dan Cassidy should be huge evidence for that. One of the three pillars if you will. Let's all read Blue Devil #21 to see them at their cutest!

this somehow isn’t even a fanon only take either there are motherfuckers who will read comics and come out genuinely believing this. like maybe it’s because they don’t read tim’s pre-robin appearances but it is so blatantly wrong it actually pisses me off. up there with “bruce was cold and cruel to tim for a while in the beginning”
it has come to my attention that some of you genuinely believe tim was bruce’s caretaker for months. which is to say, it has come to my attention that some of you are like actually fucking stupid

#rb#PREV!! like tim was Saving Batman as that was his job™️ but like#just by existing & hanging out with bruce he did save him#giving him a kid to look after that needed him safe back at home & worried abt him & loved hanging out with and yapping to him#THAT was tim taking care of bruce. also bruce very explicitly treated him like a kid he was very supremely fond of#that was the dynamic from the start. bruce was just his middle aged bestie/hero/dad-figure-not-that-they'll-admit-it-yet#like augh 💔💔 when tim says he was taking care of bruce this is what he means...and nagging at him from time to time#WHICH nost young teens are prone to doing anyway?? 13 y/o tim drake will and can nag at anyone he loves it’s his hobby#they just hung out 💔#ty connor a True understander

hi, i’m the one who recommended the janet lives fic! no worries about the lateness, i forgot i even sent it lol
idk if 27k is long to you (everyone’s definition of a long fic can be different) but the one shot(? the prelude? the 1st part of the series ig) is a good way to dip your toes in whenever you feel you want to try reading it! it covers janet’s life from her perspective leading up until she drinks the poison in Haiti.
It’s definitely an interesting read, hopefully it’s not as intimidating as its sequel (set in Tim’s Robin run from when she wakes from her coma and onwards)
sorry if i sound pushy tho lol i’m clearly in love with this fic
hi anon this is 20 billion years late but thank u i love u.

Had a dream where I was reading a Batgirls comic and every time they cut from Cass and Steph to Barbara she was eating something and it was obvious that the comic was building up to a Barbara is eating people 😱 twist but I woke up before I got to the reveal and/or the explanation for why it was happening
fascinating...

The fact that people don't think friendship is enough to justify characters doing insane acts of love for each other baffles me. Like have you never loved your friend so so much you want to live in their ribcage. Have you never been really weird about a friend. Have you never wanted to bite your friends parents or shove them down a staircase. Have you never wanted to be buried in the same grave as a friend. Have u never. How do u people live like this.
