METAPOST
MY THREE BEST POSTS ARE
- remedy for dry hair
- bunny gloss bar review
- cafe au lait chiffon review
Tumblr media
Techniqual  issues that I faced during this assignment were of course html and css coding. I found it difficult and frustrating when things went wrong but I somehow managed to edit my theme a bit by changing the font to one from google fonts, adding my hair memoirs banner, changing the text colour for links etc.
Creating the about page from scratch in dream weaver was my biggest challenge . html and css was only coverd briefly in class and I’m super slow at understanding it. I read through the resources on moodle as well as academy of tumblr. Often my fonts and things i put in the css didn’t work because I forgot the <div> tag.
I incorporated what we learnt in the lectures and tutorials to the best of my ability. For example I put a creative commons licensee on my blog. Widgets didn’t really appeal to me but I placed a facebook like button anyway.
Tumblr media
My blog didn't generate much traffic. I noticed i used to get a lot more visits on mondays. 82.9% of my visitors are from Canberra. This is probably due to the fact that they are fellow students. My other visitors are from Canada, Chile and SIngapore. I didn't do any form of promotion for my blog aside from posting it on the moodle blog roll. The only other way people have found my blog is either by searching tumblr's tags for something i have posted about.

PALTY MECHA FLASH BLEACH SPARKLING BLONDE [REVIEW]
before - black regrowth and faded palty caramel latte
Tumblr media
after (normal light)
Tumblr media
yes that's right IT TURNS YOUR HAIR ORANGE. Just as any bleach would do on dark hair. The box says it can bleach black hair to dark blonde in 30 minutes... WELL I CAN TELL YOU THAT'S A LIE  and brown hair to blonde in 15 - 30minutes
Tumblr media
OH GOD the smell is awful i was expecting something more pleasant like the regular palty dyes which smell nice but this is just smells like.... CHEMICALS. LOL i was struggling to keep my eyes open so remember to use this in a well ventilated area and have the windows open. I followed the instructions and put it all over my hair and covered it with the plastic shower cap provided and waited for about 20minutes.
you should know not to leave bleach on your hair for more than 30minutes because things will go horribly wrong such as YOUR HAIR WILL BURN AND FALL OUT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
full extent of the orange in bright lighting - SO BRIGHT
the result
i wasn't surprised i knew this wasn't going to magically make me blonde in one bleach so i had to deal with the ORANGE which i kept for about a month until my hair was recovered enough to dye again. During this time i got a lot of random stares from people which made me realise professional help was needed. my hair was damaged but not as much expected. In comparison to the dyes then hell yeah but it's bleach it's bound to happen. Before bleaching my hair was healthy and soft i took good care of it but after my hair become very dry and dull. i could feel the damages so stopped using any heating tools and just focused on restoring it back to health so i could get it fixed. I used to wash my hair everyday but had to compromise for every second day and my hair didn't even get oily.
My advice for others using this product
if your hair colour is on the lighter end of the spectrum so light browns and blondes (lucky you) you could get away with using this product once to achieve blonde but it may turn out yellow and brassy so make sure you tone it
if you have black - brown hair and you want to bleach your hair at home you will need at least 2 maybe even 3 bleaching sessions! remember to give you hair a break in between - preferably 2 weeks but make sure your hair is healthy enough to take another bleaching! otherwise you will have severely damaged, dry and brittle hair (i have a friend who bleached black hair to blonde within 3 days)
with damaged hair every time you try to comb or brush it you will feel pain (until you sort out the tangles) but hair will just keep falling everywhere so remember to TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR!
still on my journey to achieving blonde hair
Overall Rating
2.5/5 wouldn't buy it again though

AVOCADO HAIR MASK
With winter coming up our hair is going to get more dull and dry so here's another great natural diy remedy for your hair. Avocados contain Vitamin E, which is great for healthy hair. It may improve your hair condition and will help increase its feel and appearance. There are many variations for an avocado hair mask which you can find on the internet the following is just my rendition
what you'll need (measurements vary according to hair length)
- 1 ripe avocado
- 4 tbs mayonnaise
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 1 ts honey
Tumblr media
method
- place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix until it's a smooth consistency / light green in colour - an electric mixer works best
- massage mixture into hair
- cover with a shower cap
- leave in for 1 hour
- rinse off in the shower and shampoo twice followed by conditioner
As a result you're hair should feel softer and you can use this treatment once a month

These cute petite bunny gloss bars were released last year by cosmetic brand tonymoly who are known for their cute packaging (cat's wink range) and endorsed by JYJ :)
Tip: Even though they can be worn alone i would recommend wearing a lip balm as a base underneath just to prevent the bunny gloss from peeling/flaking
here are some swatches in order top to bottom is juicy peach, juicy orange and juicy apple

HAIR PRODUCT REVIEW
Finally getting around to review two hair care products that I've been using for a while.
Tumblr media
DE LORENZO THE ENDS
A unique blend of shine and sealing actives that strengthen and protect mid-lengths and ends, with the natural benefits of organic bilberry and blackberry for added manageability.
Bought this to repair my hair as it was so damaged before and it's actually hard to find a product that repairs damaged hair that's not a deep conditioning hair mask. The reason i don't like those is because it's too much of a hassle to wash and towel dry your hair and then leave the treatment in for an hour and then wash it again, it's just a hassle. Which is why i prefer to use hair treatments like this :). i have used de lorenzo shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair before which is great too.
It comes in a 120ml bottle which will last quite a while as you don't need to use a lot of product (smaller than a 5c coin). Even though you're meant to use this on the ends i use it all over my hair and find it easier to comb out tangles. Yes it really does hydrate and repair your hair i noticed a difference within a week my hair became less brittle and on its way back to normal. the only bad thing i can say about this product is the scent. when i first opened it i was like wth is this - it's quite a strong scent but i got used to it and now i don't mind it... as much. It's made with bilberry and blackberry so that could be the smell?
4/5 strongly recommend this to anyone who has damaged hair
ETUDE HOUSE SILK SCARF HAIR SERUM
Specially forumlated with oil complex and floral scent this anti-frizz serum creates exceptional shine while sealing the cuticle with a moisturising layer.
Etude House launched a whole 'silk scarf' hair care line containing shampoo, conditioner, treatments, masks, mists, essence and  serum. I was torn between buying the essence and serum but in the end they're probably do the same thing. Serums are meant to add shine and create good looking hair on the outside. Not gonna lie i adore etude house packaging and this product is cute and simple. I really do love this product especially the pleasant floral scent (i wear this after 'the ends') once again you don't need to use a lot of product, one pump is enough for shoulder length hair. I use this in damp hair or before i dry my hair. It's best to use this and the ends on damp hair so it absorbs better into your hair. i find that using it on dry hair makes it feel too sticky.
3.5/5 a nice hair serum to have
hope this helped

DYING MY ROOTS WITH PALTY CAFE AU LAIT CHIFFON [REVIEW]
Nothings worse than when you're roots get out of control! It's been about 3months since i dyed my hair so my roots were obviously showing so it was time to dye my hair again! Once again using a palty hair dye this time from their foam dye collection. Cafe au lait chiffon  is the lightest colour in the range i was hoping to turn the black into light brown.
Tumblr media
This is my second time using a foam dye from palty. I have previously dyed my hair with "custard beige" which went ok it actually it made my hair more lighter than the colour on the box (not what i was going for) and my sister has dyed her hair with "creamy caramel" which actually turned out more reddish than brown -  hence why i don't have high expectations for foam dyes. I purchased mine from ebay. best seller ever they wrap the box in wrapping paper :)
Tumblr media
Directions
1. Pour the base water oxide into the cup
2. pour the hair colour cream into the cup
3. using the paddle mix the two until mixture foams
note: put vaseline or paw paw ointment on your forehead, behind your ears basically around your hair line to avoid hair dye stains
4. either by sectioning your hair or putting the dye all over massage the dye into your hair like you would shampoo
5. cover with showercap and leave for 20minute+ (i strongly advise you to leave it in for for at least 40minutes)
Tumblr media
so light and foamy ^^
the day i dyed my hair i was pretty short on time so i only managed to leave it in for 25minutes although the 'recommended' time is 20 minutes it won't do much. i usually like leaving hair dye in for an hour or more to properly absorb into my hair but today i just had to make do with 25minutes.
results
well there is pretty much no difference except in my roots. If I had the chance i would definitely have left the dye in for a good hour seriously 25minutes was not enough. Overall it turned my black roots into a sorta light brown, my hair is blended more evenly now. i don't know why it didn't work on the rest of my hair?  i guess it toned down some of the orange but not a lot. Now that i think about it this might be one of those dyes not recommended for bleached hair
  before
Tumblr media
after
Tumblr media
overall rating for me 2.5/5
did the job but didn't have great results maybe i'll try this again another time and leave it for longer - why am i reviewing all the palty products i don't like. i guarantee you the normal hair dye range is the best especially for black hair
