I can’t express how devastated I feel to hear about Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. His voice was amazing, the range and the composure he had was not of this world. I am sad for the fate of music, his family, his children, his own existence being cut short. Check in with your friends and family often you never really know what’s happening on the inside. A simple hello could change someone’s fate. Beyond sad. I hope you found your peace. Checks.

sometimes dumbledore will call snape to his office in the morning for mundane conversation, but it’s primarily to make sure snape hasn’t offed himself.

Notice what happens in this scene, which represents every character perfectly:

Draco is afraid. He looks at Charity and knows that if he won’t do as Voldemort says, he will be killed. This scene is the first time when Draco actually understands the full power of the dark lord.

Voldemort is determined, ready to kill, fearless about the damage.

Narcissa tries to hold herself. She is worried about Lucius, can’t help but wondering if it will happen to him.

Lucius doesn’t even look. He is afraid that whatever he’ll do, say or act, will backfire at him.

Bellatrix? She doesn’t give a fuck. Ok, so people die, what’s the big deal?

But the best character is Snape. A normal person will think that like Bellatrix, he just doesn’t care. But no. If you look at his body language- he leans back. He keeps himself away from it. He doesn’t want to do it.

So yes, ladies and gentlemen, Severus Snape is a good actor. But Allan Rickman is a brilliant one.

Snape Headcanons

It’s a mix of personal headcanons and things I really like to see in fanfic.

- Snape’s personal quarters are warm and it’s comfortable, but his office is cold and dreary - his voice drops to a whisper when he’s angry - he’s rarely at the Great Hall for breakfast, because he likes to sleep in. It’s usually because he was up late brewing potions or grading essays - he ties his hair back when he’s brewing potions for the infirmary or just experimenting - he often falls asleep reading on the couch of his living quarters and keeps a throw blanket nearby for that reason - he gets Christmas cards from former students and he keeps them all - severus is a big tea drinker but he will never turn down coffee if it’s an option - he drinks it black in front of his coworkers because he has a reputation to keep but severus likes cream just as much as the next guy - he has a special mug he likes to use - he was always scrawny because he was poor but got a bit of tummy chub when he started working at Hogwarts because of all the feasts. He became scrawny again when Voldemort rose again and was constantly pacing and too anxious to eat - he’s about 5'11 but seems shorter because he likes to slouch. He likes to straighten out when he’s angry because it makes him taller and v intimidating

A/N: I loved writing this so much, my Snape feels are on the loose again, someone HELP! I know that many people are not fond of Snape but I love him to bits and I’m not sorry for it, okay? the two of you were probably the most unlikely couple

you were known for your caring nature and your kindness, which meant most students adored you

the same went with the rest of the teaching staff

speaking of which, not many would know about your relationship

only Dumbledore (of course) and McGonagall later found out and was shocked to say the least

no wonder why, Severus was never one to display affection in public and you were fine with that, you loved him for who he was

when you were in the presence of others, he would always act strictly professional, although his tone was never as harsh as it was with others 

behind closed doors he was a different man though

with you, he allowed himself to be vulnerable; to show all the weaknesses he had to hide in front of others

when it came to your marriage, his insecurities often prevailed and therefore you always had to reassure him 

so you made sure he knew how much you loved him all the time

you couldn’t blame him, life had always been so cruel to him

he thought he didn’t deserve you despite you telling him the opposite, he thought that you could do so much better

he’d always say you were younger - so much younger than him - and you deserved a man you could be proud of 

he’d say you deserved a better life

which usually resulted in him saying something hurtful and trying to push you away but the minute he saw the hurt expression on your face and the tears that had gathered in your eyes, he immediately regretted it

perhaps he was being selfish, perhaps he was being weak but when he wiped your tears away and kissed you, nothing else mattered

most people would never think Snape to be an affectionate man

and he wasn’t; not in the conventional way at least

he didn’t often voice his love for you, but he didn’t have to 

you knew he loved you when you read to you, your head on his lap as he ran his fingers through your hair

you knew he loved you when he thought you were asleep and pulled you closer to him at nights

you knew he loved you when he always made sure you had eaten

or every time he discovered your newest injury and scolded you for being so clumsy, before healing it wordlessly and pressing his lips against the spot

because words were not enough to show how much you meant to him, you were his entire world, the only person in this awful world that he cared about and that somehow managed to give his pitiful life a meaning
