Cinnamon update 4 : Finished Sketches

Hi ducklings,

I’m proud to say the hardest part “sketching” is done. Funny enough, out of colors and ink the sense of space is hardest. Just not having something to work with BUT that ends haha! I’m still need a color palette but have an idea. I feel bad for making people wait since May but I’m happy to say I have the time to even work on passion projects now.

Cinnamon Update #3: Rethinking (again)

Hi ducklings, 

It’s been I wanna say a week or two? I feel I should post more on this blog sigh. Anyway, to update I’ve been studying most about color theory. Because the comic was originally going to be in monochromatic and webcomics are colored I feel I should do color. It take me the same amount of time to draw mono as colored drawings (4 - 5 hour average). On the side I’ve been practicing values and how to use clip studio faster with my passion project “The Girl in My Dream” by Sizzkun & Burntwitch. Highly effective! 

Honestly, I think I was avoiding making episode 2 because I was having paneling issues since I remodeled the *wish cafe*. But now those have been fixed I feel my passion flowing in my veins again!

cinnamon update #2: pilot redo

Hi ducklings,

I’m feeling better. I look at recent comments on webtoons about how my first comic was hard to read and too many elements. I had reddit help point out specific issues. In the best interest of the manga I’m redoing the pilot then episode 2 and so on. Episode 1 will be replaced so here’s a version of the old one:

A thought

Sometimes I wish I was a completely different person. A different world, a different face, a different past. Everything. 

Yet regardless you have to keep on living. I had a realization that life is just people learning how to master their emotions/pain and the beauty around us and moments is what makes It bearable. Even so, If everything changed that’d be nice.

cinnamon update #1 : my vision

Hi ducklings,

So, It’s been 5 months since the Cinnamon Pilot was posted on May 15th. Where the comics stands now, I’m drawing character portfolios and doing world building. My two greatest art struggles. Some people might say It’s better to wing It and develop my skill with each episode but I genuinely want cinnamon to be an experience not a stale practice ground. That’s the best way to make excuses to make a bad comic. “I messed up but I mean It’s for practice after all?”.Ugh. I want to make the real thing, the world, the scenes, the feelings inside my head. 

I’ve seen so many comics where creator you can tell where going for a vision but didn’t know how to fully embrace that vision. 

Anyway, picking a color scheme been opf. Just getting the cast’s colors to harmonize too with the character’s personality and world. I’m inking cinnamon similar to the helltaker fancomics. My vision for cinnamon is a mix of FLCL, helltaker, gongre (youtube) & tekkonkinkreet. A punkish, wild, ridiculous, childish vibe, but quiet when it needs to. Like the feeling when I ride on my bike really early in the morning, the air is so cold but fresh, the towns still asleep and you see the sunrise light up the sky and street as the day starts. That feeling.

Examples:

My wish with cinnamon is to create something everyone can enjoy after a bad day at work, fall in love with the characters, get inspired to draw, a reflection on one’s life and their dreams. Orrr a season 2 of FLCL we didn’t get haha but I still hope people see cinnamon as It’s own. I’ll probably redo the cinnamon pilot once I get few more episodes out and a speacial fan project of The Girl In My Dream.

Hello ducklings, welcome to the happy duck blog!

Those who follow my instagram account may have seen I have a tumblr blog now. It’s not a website but something better (maybe). I want to start by saying thank you for everyone who’s supported me up to now and those who read this in the future! My goal for this blog is talk about things i like and my dreams and make a place where I can have fun (with you)!

Maybe meet new people, make new fans and a few new adventures? I’ve never been the routine kinda gal so there’s no schedule but I just wanna be ye fun old me here.
