You had been sitting the common room reading a book remus had given you as a gift. You'd been wanting that book and it just so happens, that sirius got remus another copy remus gave you his old one.

You hear the portrait open than close. Suddenly you see your lovable boyfriend walking into the common room. He looked so tired, you knew he had detention because he'd accidentally spilled ink in class.

Slughorn was hard on him and thought he'd done it on purpose. "HI y/n" he grumbles finding a seat next to you. "Hi jamie" you say as he lays his head on your shoulder.

James hugs your waist holding you in his imbrace. "Bad day love" you whispers just loud enough he can hear.

He nods looking at you "can you just hold me for a little bit." his voice is quiet as if he's ashamed to even ask.

"Of course james, would you like to tell me about your day?" You ask him holding him in your arms gently. "Professor slughorn made me write an essay on why I spilled the ink." He looks up at you sadly. "And then I gave him the paper saying I didn't mean to and I was sorry he got mad at me for lying."

You knew slughorn disliked james and sirius because of their antics and disruptions. this was to far even for him. "I'm sorry jamie that so cruel" you say as you hold him tighter.

"He made me write it again and threatened to take away my privilege to play in the qudditch match." He says burying his face into your chest. "I'm sorry honey" you say stroking his hair.

James hugs you tightly once more. "I just need your comfort right now" he says quietly. "I'm right here jamie" you speak softly determined to make you boyfriends day better.
