So I’m watching Sex Education for the first time and I have just reached the asexual episode and HOLY SHIT.

It’s the ‘I think I’m broken’. It’s the ‘You’re not broken’.

It’s the fact that Otis couldn’t give the right advice because he didn’t know what it was and he wasn’t an asshole for it, no, he was just ignorant.

It’s the ‘You’ll find the right person’ and then the ‘You don’t have to.’

And this is why I watched the show. This is why the trailer caught my interest when I was 13 and didn’t know what asexuality was. I didn’t watch it (or figure out my sexuality) for years after but suddenly I KNEW THAT IT EXISTED.

It’s the fact that her problems weren’t any less important than anyone else’s and it’s the fact that she wasn’t othered at all during the entire episodes. I just

he’s still a kleptomaniac, but after the whole Pentagon thing, stealing isn’t as fun as it used to be

so now, he’s like a Robin Hood of sorts; he steals from the rich to help the less fortunate

it’s almost like penance, even if he won’t acknowledge it

he goes to Transia a lot, secretly hoping returning to the place he was born would give him some sort of clarity on what to do with his life

and he learned Polish, Romanian, and German in like three days

the kids are always excited to see him (he brings the best toys for them)

it’s not just toys, though; he brings food, medicine, and other supplies for everyone

in exchange, the people from the various towns cover for him whenever anyone comes around asking about him… which happens often

literally every government and law enforcement agency would love to capture and detain the speedster

also, they all call him Pietro (aka his given name)

anyway, on one of his visits/check-ins, one of the families tell him their daughter turned out to be a mutant too, but the government took her away two days ago

he’s going to go rescue her and bring her home, obviously

cue the slow-mo scene

it would still be to Sweet Dreams, but it’s Peter breaking into a highly secured government facility where a bunch of mutants are being held captive

it’s the first time he’s really seen the horror of mutant prejudice up close; the experiments, the living conditions, it’s all just terrible and inhumane

all the mutants are freed, and Peter actually gets thanked

he finds the little girl and takes her back to her family

Peter leaves the town, knowing the authorities will be looking for him and wanting to spare the people of further trouble

it’s only a few days later that Peter learns the entire town got wiped out in retaliation (if they can’t capture Peter, then they’ll take out his allies)

it’s only a few hours afterwards that Apocalypse finds him (with Ororo, Psylocke, and Warren in tow)

Peter may be a kleptomaniac but World Domination is NOT on his bucket list

but the images of that government facility are fresh in his mind, so he can see Apocalypse’s point about the cruelty of humans

why should mutants suffer because the humans are afraid??

not to mention that humans were willing to slaughter their own kind to punish him

(maybe Erik had a point all those years ago at the White House…?)

Apocalypse taps into Peter’s anger, guilt, and all those Daddy Issues™️, posing himself as an approving male figure who can guide and teach Peter more about himself and his powers

the final nail in the coffin so to speak is when Apocalypse places a hand on Peter’s shoulder and enhances his powers

Peter can feel his increased speed in his body, he just feels more powerful

but what surprises everyone is that all the metal nearby starts hovering and shaking while his eyes and hands glow white (or blue)

(the three other horsemen immediately realize what that means, it’s just a question of who is going to bring it up first)

(turns out, it’s Warren)
