So I’m starting my KonMari journey and let me say... it’s going very well. I understand why some people don’t like it, parts are a little silly but that’s what I like about it. I went through all my clothes yesterday, calling up the memories from each one, touching the fabric, inspecting the seams and it was easy to tell which ones I still love and which ones I was hanging on to out of habit.
I liked telling those pieces I’m finished with “Thank you for all your hard work!” “Thank you for teaching me I don’t like this fabric!” “Thank you for taking me to that Gala!”
Today I’m on to books!
The biggest thing I’m struggling with is how I’ve always viewed my possessions as a kind of bank--they represent a resting place for all the money I’ve ever had and spent. So it’s hard to get rid of things when I think they have a potential for monetary value. But keeping around a million things just because I MIGHT sell them someday is the opposite of what I want to accomplish!!!
So my plan is so check all the books I set aside with the Amazon trade in and then send them off immediately!!!
