Some time ago I said around here that the only sonic game I was able to finish was The Murder of Sonic, so here are the B-day girl and the best boy, as they appear around the game.
I loved how everybody spoils Amy because it's her birthday, even participating on a live rolplay and getting dresses as their characters, and how Shadow realized he didn't buy anything to her and goes and buys the most expensive concert tickets only because she loves the band.
I really liked how everybody was suited up, they look so cool when they put them jacket and shirts. I though Shadow was a paper boy before they said he was a locksmith. LOL

I've been watching Sonic cutscenes today on my free day, catching on +30 years of lore, and I can't believe I'm going to get hooked on their stories because of an artificial creature and his adopted big sister. I mean, I saw the movies and I felt hard because found family is like drug to me, and I'm sure the spend half the budget on Shadow's puppy eyes and wet hair, but I just found there's a SHADOW MANGA! And, of course, fans already translated it.
I can't believe how expresive Shadow is drawn. I though V in Visions of V was peak, but this Shadow gives me the same sensation: theuse of body language and black and white to express emmotions. I feel so jealous of these mangakas, but in a good way; without them we could not enjoy this great art and stories, I hope they keep giving them jobs. And I hope they get licences outside Japan.
BTW, I saw a short story about movie Shadow and, man, I got even more jealous, because, even in their style, you could see it was movie Shadow.
If you want to read it, and cry and fangirling with me, I read it here.

I've been thinking about how could Eva and Sparda have met having into account the little things we know, like Sparda arrived and saved the human world 2000 years ago, he was a Fortuna lord and, sometime, he met Eva and had babies. I don't remember if they say they married, but I could say yes.
Then, as I said in a other post, in Bayonetta they say Eva was a witch who made a pack with a demon called Legendary Dark Knight. But it didn't say that she was a Umbra Witch, so we could say she was a modern witch; I suppose Umbra were keepers of the Left Eye and there were other clans and covens, as not all magic around the world nor cultures are the same, but can influence each other.
So, having this into account, it came to my mind that maybe, maybe, they met one day when a young Eva, like in her 20s, was trying to summon some demon to use, the thing went wrong, and instead of a lesser demon, she summons a guy dressing as a noble, and both are WTF. She thinks he is a normal guy she teleported by error and he is flipping out because he was in his castle or something, doing lord things, and, seconds later, he was in the middle of a magic circle with a woman flipping out as much as him.
Then, I think Sparda could have said he was a demon, but not his name yet, and stay to help her with whatever she summoned him for because he was curious about the woman with enough magic to summon him. Then he started to like her because she represented all the good, and bad, things she liked about humans, and the rest is story.

Personal thoughts about a book
I said a was going to take a break from reading, but yesterday we didn't have internet connection all day and the only thing I could do was read and write, so I read the book I bought on Book's day.
It looked quite interesting: it was an auto-published book and the girl sold it to me like a saphic Tarzan retelling in a post apocaliptic setting, so I bought it without second thoughts.
I read it in one go and, when I finished, I felt a bit empty. I spent some time thinking about what the problem was and I realized what was it: there were no worldbuilding.
The story was about a future when nature's goddess got angry because polution, so she killed all people but 5% not polluting humans. These humans decided the best they could do to not pollute again was go and live in boats and travel around the glove, only going to earth to get food. The story starts 400 years after that.
From here, everything that happened didn't make sense to me: agriculture and killing animals was forbiden, but they got fruits and vegetables from random ports, where they bought them, but no money/trade system was explained; everyone has pretty and colourful clothing, and shoes, but no one explains how they got the fabrics. Even the main character has paper to draw. But, what really let me thinking was the part where the bad guy had created a factory to built, with all it chimenies and smoke, full operative, in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. I don't say this could be impossible to do, but after almost all the population wiped, and 400 hundred years without housebuilding and people only knowing for old books, I thinks I would be easier to use the old method of using manual moulds and sun drying. And they were importing those bricks, too.
Appart from the wordbuilding, I think the author wanted to touch too many themes in one book and failed to do so: pollution, veganism, religion, abuse of power and r*pe, familly and finding our place in the world, all those themes are touched, but none of them expanded, so at the end, I didn't care for any of them.
Over all, as I said, the idea looked like those I love to read and I'm unable to write about, but failed to do so as tried to tell may thing in not enough pages. I really thing if the author used more pages to explain they themes she wanted to speak about, the novel would be much better, but the novel was auto-published, and those books are super expensive to print.

This chapter is super long. I tried to cut it but I didn't know where. This is going to go into hiatus because I have some ideas, but I want to put them in orden before writing them.
THE LOAN
A couple of days after the tower disappearance, people started appearing. Police, firefighters, the news. They look around the rubble, looking for survivors; they found Dante and Vergil in the office. Dante treated the workers of law and order the best he could, and kicked out the reporters; he didn’t let any of them approach his brother in case he started a fight and decided to get rid of them. He accepted some food and water supplies, though, as they had spent two days without eating, only sleeping. Healing would be faster with their stomachs full again.
Dante had been thinking about the ‘Arkham was rich’ thing his brother said, and if maybe Lady, the sole heir, it seemed, was going to inherit all that, could make him the huge favour of giving him some money to repair his shop; a loan, he could call it that.
Once he saw the water was still running even if half the building was missing, he took a much deserved shower, put clean clothes he found around and asked Vergil for directions. When asked, his brother looked at him as he was the stupidest person in the world; he could not believe Dante was really thinking about asking the girl money.
—I’m going with you —he said; he wanted to watch him fail.
—Of course you are, you have to lead the way. —And he did not want to leave him alone, afraid of what would he do—. Come on! Freshen up, get some clothes and go.
Vergil got up from where he was sitting and went straight to the bathroom. There was a shattered mirror there, and he looked at the reflection: his injuries had healed, but he still was covered in blood and filth from their fight days ago. His hair was down too, and he looked just like his brother. Dante appeared at the door and hanged him some clothes. Vergil took them and, without saying thanks, she shoved Dante in the head and closed the door in his brother’s face.
—I’ll wait at the door! —He heard Dante.
He took off his clothes and entered the bathtub, no minding the filth on it. He opened the shower and blood started running through the drain. ‘How thing ended like this?’ He though as cold water run through his back. He was supposed to get his father’s power, surpassing him, not being afraid of anything any more, but his brother defeated him, brought him to his collapsed house and had been pestering him, making sure he was OK, instead of letting him rest and recover in peace. He felt defeated in so many level, but at the same time grateful someone cared for him, he was feeling a bit confused. He wasn’t going to tell Dante, though; still too prideful for that.
He finished and got dresses. Of course, Dante’s clothes fitted him, but not his style; black and red did not suit him, he always preferred blue. He put his hair back, easier being wet, and came out the bathroom; Dante was waiting for him at the door-less entrance.
—You can’t bring that —said Dante when he saw Vergil take Yamato.
—Make me —It was the only answer he got.
—We need to find a way to conceal it, you can’t go around showing off your sword, at least not in the middle of the day; you’ll get people scared.
The voice sounded playful, but he was being serious.
—I don’t care —And he crossed the door to the street.
Vergil started walking and Dante followed him. He did not bring Rebellion, Which Vergil saw as an insult, but he knew his brother brought his beloved guns under his jacket.
The crossed many streets on their way to lady’s supposed house. First, the streets nearer where the tower stood days before, full of people doing every type of job necessary; even Dante helped a couple of times, but never stopped enough to get the thanks he deserved. Vergil saw this as weakness and softness, and never turned his back at people’s problems.
After, they crossed another almost untouched neighbourhood until they arrived to a well off part of the city and Vergil stopped at one of the biggest building in the street.
—Wait, I think I’ve been here before —Dante said after taking his first look at the building. Then, he saw the billboard: ON SALE.
The crossed the door fence and rang at the front door. A couple of minutes later, the door opened and Lady appeared, her eyes wide open when she recognized then.
—What are you doing here? —She asked—. I never thought I’ll see you so soon, and even less with him…
Dante smiled awkwardly before speaking:
—I came to talk, I need a huge favour. —Dante put emphasis on “huge”.
Lady stood in silent for a moment, looking at both of them and, at the end, she opened the door.
—Behave! —She ordered—. I need the house intact to sell it for a good amount.
—So you are really selling the house, huh?
—Nothing here for me any more, so I’ll make good money of it and start a new somewhere.
—Devil hunting?
—Aha. And bullets cost money. Not all of us have special powers, you know?
Lady took them to a small room with a simple table and couple of chairs; it seemed the expensive furniture had already been sold.
—What brought you here then?
—-Well… —Dante wasn’t good with words. He looked at Vergil, but he was not going to help—. My place is totally wrecked, Vergil told me your fa-, I mean… you were loaded, and I was hoping you could spare some…
—You want me to lean you money!? —The audacity of that man!
—Yes! A load, that the word.
Lady looked at him as he believed she was stupid or something and Vergil smiled, very amused.
—-Oh, come on! I’ll pay you! I’ll work any job, even the boring ones. He will too.
—I won’t —Vergil added, and Lady’s stare became angrier. Dante got desperate.
—I can help you in future jobs, for free, when you need it. Think about it: I get rid of your problems and you get paid for it.
—Humm… —The idea was interesting, Dante was half demon after all and his abilities could be very useful if a future job ended being too difficult for her.
—Until I pay my debt, of course —He liked the action, but didn’t want to become a slave.
—I think I have some cash to spare, I’ll call you when I check the bank accounts.
She went to the door, ready to send them off, when Vergil spoke to her:
—Did you sell the books?
Lady looked at him, a bit confused.
—Arkham books, did you sell them?
—No, not yet. I’m looking for someone specialized in antique books. Why?
—I want some.
The petition look Lady by surprise, not Dante though, as he knew his brother’s fondness for books.
—What… what do you want to do with them? —She knew his late father’s library was full of occultism tomes and other weird things, very dangerous in the wrong hands.
—Arhkam possessed a great collection and I would like to have some if you are going to dispose of them; not only the grimoires, but the classic too.
—What!?
—He likes reading —added Dante—, like a lot.
Lady looked at Vergil dumbfounded: that man was a bookworm?
After thinking it for a bit, Lady took them to the library in the end, and Vergil went in before she gave him permission. He looked around the room and saw it seemed the woman already disposed of the estrange experiments his late father had hidden behind the shelves and she only kept the priceless books.
When she saw him look around, Lady thought he was going to go and take the forbidden arts tomes, or any related to them, but he just walked past them and took one old poetry one which looked older than the house. The vision of the man who, a couple of days before, tried to kill them all and become full demon, now enjoying some poetry in her house, was something never crossed lady’s mind.
—How were these past days? —She asked, really curious.
—Calm. We were resting, the usual after any of our brotherly fights —answered Dante.
—No problems?
—He is behaving, if that’s what worries you.
—Something is different, but I can’t tell what —Not that she knew him well, but the change was obvious when comparing the man in front of her with the one she encountered before.
—There was a misunderstanding, big one, family stuff, but I think we fixed it, and that it calmed him down. —Then, he leaned to her and whispered—: I even saw him shed some tears.
Then, without a warning, she pushed Lady, who got hit against the wall and felt. Angry, she stoop up, ready to shout and hit Dante, when he saw a magic sword stuck in the arm Dante used to push her. She was going to shout in anger, but Vergil spoke first:
—Stop talking nonsense —said him before going back to the shelf he was searching—. Devils never cry.
She looked at Dante, who was amused: the sword disappeared and so did the wound in his hand; the bleeding was minimum. Then, she looked at Vergil, who had left the first book and had picked another one, and saw an annoyed expression in his face. By their reaction, she supposed Dante did not lie. It never crossed her mind devils could cry, but maybe… maybe they cried, and had human emotions, as she saw some humans lack them and could be real monsters.
—Maybe… maybe even a devil may cry if they feel sad… or happy… —she muttered to herself.
Hearing these words, even Vergil raised his eyes from the book he was holding with interest and looked her in astonishment.
—Yeah, maybe… —Dante added.
Vergil said nothing and continued searching around the shelves.
—By the way, didn’t I tell you how much a crybaby my brother was when our mother scolded us? —Dante asked, still amused.
—The same as you when father scolded us —Vergil answered this time.
“Were these two the same bothers who tried to kill each other a couple of days ago?” Lady asked to herself in disbelieve.
Dante say her expression and turned his head to her, smiling widely; Lady saw he was truly happy. But his expression changed fast and, without a notice, he took her head by the cheek with his right hand and turned it slightly, looking at her in the eyes.
—What are you doing? —She exclaimed, slapping his hand to free herself.
—Oh, sorry! Did I hurt you? —He was really concerned.
—No, it only took me by surprise…
Dante exhaled in relief.
—I just realized you don’t look so good. Did you get enough rest?
—Rest? Of course not! It’s been exhausting to do all by myself now that I’m… alone…
She felt silent and even Vergil turned his head to see what was going on. He saw Lady trying to suppress her tears, but unable to do so. Then, softly, she felt Dante’s hand on her head, patting it.
—It’s OK. —She heard him whisper; this time she did not refuse his touch and cried to her heart content.
A bit embarrassed, Dante looked away, not used to this kind of things, and saw his brother looking at them mockingly, but not bearing ill-will. Then, he approached them.
—You are strong, you’ll get over it in no time —he said.
Lady looked at him, still full of tears, as he was the less tactful person in the world, but sure it was going to be the best she was going to get from him.
—Even though, you should treat that wound —Vergil added, pointing to her leg.
Both Lady and Dante looked at where Vergil was pointing and they saw the wound Arkham made her was open and bleeding; it surely opened when Dante pushed her and she felt down. Seeing this, Dante grabbed her and carried her on his right arm.
—Put me down, I don’t need help —she ordered, but Dante simply grinned at her:
—I suppose you have a first-aid kit somewhere around the house?
—In the bathroom —she answered when she realized Dante was not going to let her go.
They went to the bathroom and Vergil followed them.
—I’m taking this book —he said then—. Don’t sell the rest, I’ll come back for the ones I want and I’ll pay you any sum you request for them.
—Wait! I didn’t say yes! —She cried while Dante let her down and made her sit on the toilet—. How are you going to get all that money, huh?
—I’ll find a way.
—Stealing is not an option —she added, pointing his finger at his face.
—Fine, —Vergil said at the end—, I’ll look for some well paid mercenary jobs and kill some humans, if you prefer.
Lady froze and then Dante started laughing loudly.
—Look at your face! —He said, almost choking—. Nah, don’t worry, he is joking.
She looked back at Vergil as saw a mocking smile in his face; he was really joking!
—I’ll try to get clean money, if you insist. —Some of those books were worth the effort.
Meanwhile, Dante had found the first-aid kit and was looking at all the things inside;. they never used any of those, so he didn’t know what Lady needed.
—There must be a small spray bottle inside with ‘antiseptic wound cleansing’ in the label, and sterile dressing —she said when she saw Dante was struggling—. Oh, and take the bandages, too.
Dante did as she requested and stepped aside, but stood near her in case he was needed. He saw how Lady took her soaked bandages off, cleaned the wound, which wasn’t bleeding any more, and put clean bandages on. The wound was big and full of stitches; it would leave a big scar on Lady’s leg. “At least she can move properly” thought Dante when he saw Lady got up on her own.
—Can we leave now? —they heard Vergil ask; they weren’t sure if Vergil had already lost his patient of he just was waiting patiently for Lady to finish to ask. Anyway, he needed to be a bit more tactful.
—Yeah, yeah, get out of my house and leave me in peace, I have much to do —she said, being as rude as she thought she needed to be.
She accompanied both brother to the front door, walking slower than before and limping a bit. When the arrived, Dante spoke to her before leaving:
—You can call, or come around my place, if you need something, if you feel like it… We… I… whatever, will be there —he said in a serious tone she never heard him before.
She already knew Dante wasn’t good expressing himself with words, but she saw his good intention and thanked him for that. Then, he told her his office address, and both brothers left her with a weird good impression.

Zero doubts Arkham was rich. In DMC3 manga he lives in a HUGE mansion, so huge he can make mad tea parties with demons and shooting, and his family didn't know about it LOL.
Maybe Lady crying is a bit OOC, but you don't know all the shit you have to do when someone dies and the paperwork appears everywhere you go; you'll cry, too.
Vergil liking books is not only because Visions of V, but DMC3 too. In the game, Arkham finds him in a library. In the manga, in Arkham mansion, Vergil hides in Arkham library, where it seems only Arkham enters, and sit in the sofa reading book coatless! That's means he is confy and enjoying it for sure! I think both enjoy reading, but Vergil was the one who apreciated having actual real books, old and limited.
I tried to make them a bit playful, as they are around 18/20 years old. They are happy they are together and want lady to be happy too, in their own weird way.

I started watching Sonic X as someone suggested, I've watched until Rouge appears for the first time and my conclusion is everyone is stupid but Tails, and I think Rouge too.
Sonic does whatever he wants, thinking is for other people, not the main character.
Knuckles is gullible, like I can't believe he is so gullible. Movie Knuckles was gullible in a autistic way and he learns, here, he is simply stupid.
Amy does nothing. I knew she had a Sonic obsession, but she is impulsive and doesn't think neither. The character is wasted in my opinion.
Cream is like 5, so she doesn't count. She is a victim of the circunstances, leave her alone. They told me she is the prime victim of R34 and makes me feel sad.
Robotnik let his computer (I was going to say AI, but I doubt this Robotnik knows about it...) choose the robot of the week because gambling is fun or something.
And the humans, oh the humans. No one is safe: main characters, his family, servants, friends, the president. Only one female police seemed like an exception, and they made her the joke of the day.
And the jokes, oh, the jokes aged sooo bad.
All these doesn't mean I'm dropping it, but, damn, I need someone who thinks and is reliable appart for a, I think, 10 human years fox.
Oh, I forgot about Rouge. She make the worst jokes, the ones which aged soooo bad, and her voice makes her feel like a older woman when she is like an old teenager or in her twenties? I sound younger than her LOL I'm watching it in English, BTW. She looks intelligent, but I think it is because the rest is too dumn.

I've been writting a couple of chapters of a fanfic these past three days, I re-read them today and I hate them. I'm so sad, I feel like I wasted those last three days. Al least I hope I could be able to mend them.

I went and asked my friend which Sonic game should I play as I suck at them and they told me "2" because, even if it is original in Steam, it worked as an emulator and you can rewind if you lose! So I played for a bit and WOW the stages are beautiful. My favourite part: Robotnik Broom Broom. Look at him, so happy and malevolous.

I didn't quite undertand Tails role in this game. I thought I could switch characters, but it seems he is like a shadow character who does the same af you, taking rings and hitting enemies you missed, but without the getting damaged part. And he goes around, flying and being cute, too.
It seems it has a story, but I didn't see any cutscene, maybe I missed them while pressing buttons...

I'm not a fan of Sonic mainly because, I think, all my consoles were Nintendo and I suck at platform game; not only Sonic and Mario style, but any game with a platform stage on it is a pain for me (looks at DMC and Bayonetta). But I have a friend who really love them, tried a couple of them, and I failed miserably.
I played the first one, I think, and Adventure DX. I got stuck, and I died, and I felt, and I almost cried, so I quitted; so sad. Funny, the only game I was able to finish was 'The murder of Sonic', but I think it's not canon? I'm sorry, but not knowing anything about anyone, except who is friends with whom and that Tails is cute and very intelligent, watching all in cosplay make me laught.
I watched the movies, too, but they seem to deviate too much from the stories of the games, and I saw there are a ton of comics, but not in the mood of buying more or find the issue I should start with (they look like Marvel level of story crossing and universes or something).
So, wanting to enter in the fandom, but unable due my poor platform gaming skills, I decided to look for some cartoon series and found Sonic Prime: short, 3 season with 8 chapters each one (i'm sure it was only those chapters and split them in 3 seasons). Well, that seemed right.
Oh, man, I was wrong. I hate all, all, ALL characters. I hate the Robotniks, I hate the various alternate universe friends; sad to say the only thing I like were Rouge's alternate costumes.
I couldn't finish the series, and I'm a bit scared of trying to watch another one and hate it too because I know Sonic is a well known franchise, loved by their fans, and, even if I watch something and don't like it, I simple drop it, not hate it.
The thing is, as I said, I watched the films and I loved them, I love found family and I loved the way they did it in all Sonic films. I loved the characters on 'Murder of Sonic' too, as I saw they liked it other in their own weird way, but I feel in this serie Sonic is there to mend the problems he made himself and the rest is there to be in the way.
Maybe I should start watching gameplays or 1 hour long lore videos...

Everytime I try to write something cool, with action and character evolution, everything ends evolving into corny or fluffy (I think those are the words), all too sentimental, maybe, for people, and I sorry for that. Anyway, even if I'm trying to be faitful to the characters, this is an AU, and they are going to evolve in a different way that the originals.
As always, I hope you enjoy this little part, as I enjoyed writting it, as writting is what's keeping me sane these days.
A NEW DAWN
The shop was as bad as he left it hours ago: half the front wall was down, all the windows were shattered and part of the debris was blocking the front door. He already knew all the furniture inside the office was broken as he broke it the night before.
Dante knew the repairing was going to cost a fortune, but he was too exhausted to think of that, or anything at all.
Both brothers were able to enter the building after pushing the wall before them and took a look around, looking for some place they could lay down, but not even the lonely sofa under the metallic stairs survived.
—Maybe the bed on the room is still in one piece; want to share?
But his brother didn’t answer, so he turned and saw him pick something from the floor: a frame with a photo on it.
—I can’t believe it’s still in one piece…
They looked at the photo in silent: a blonde woman dressed in red smiled gently back at them.
—Where did you get this?
—I took it that night; it's the only thing I could keep…
They remembered her as a kind and patient mother, sweet but hard when she needed to be. Their father taught them how to fight and a code of honor to follow; their mother about life and love. Now that Vergil knew she didn’t abandoned him, he started to remember little things about her and the ways she showed them love. Deep inside, he never stopped loving her, as he kept the pendant she gave him on his birthday even before knowing the true power it possessed.
Dante took a piece of broken furniture which was lying around and stood it up. Then, he pointed it to his brother. Understanding Dante’s intention, Vergil put the photo on it.
—I’ll get a new frame as soon as possible, a better one —Dante said.
He looked around the room and kicked one the seat cushions that were part of the sofa.
—I think I’ll sleep just right here. I’ll put some blanket on the floor and I’ll be enough. You can take the bed, you need it more than me, with all those wounds I made you.
—I’m in better shape than you, brother, I don’t need a bed.
—Better shape? I sliced your chest just a few hour ago!-Dante said while grabbing Vergil coat and opening it, showing his brother’s waistcoat ripped in the middle, just barely hanging.
—And I impaled you, twice —Vergil answered, taking his brother’s hand of him, but without letting them go.
—But you are the oldest, so go to bed, old man!
—And you are the youngest; little boys need to go early to bed.
They started wrestling until both of them threw a punch to each others face and both felt to the floor and passed out.
***************************************************
When Dante woke up, it was already night. All was very silent and the air was chilly. Without sitting up, he turned his head, saw his brother and smiled; he was really there. He moved his arm to reach for him and started hitting his brother’s arm.
—Hey, are you sleeping? —He asked.
—Not anymore, thanks to you —Vergil answered with a growl.
Vergil rubbed his face with his right hand and looked at Dante, annoyed; his brother was smiling at him like the fool he was.
—How are you feeling?
—Murderous.
But that was all, as any of them had enough energy to stand up, so they stayed in the floor in silence.
In those silent moments, Vergil remembered the nightmares he had since the attack when he were just a little kid: the pain, the fire, the loneliness. As every time he slept, he just had them, but this time, he was woken up mid dream and his brother was by his side. Then he felt something brush his hand. He took a peek and he saw it was Dante’s hand reaching for his. He felt a bit awkward, but didn’t show it. He didn’t move his hand, though. He was starting to feel like he had not felt since years ago, but he couldn’t accept those feelings yet.

As a fan, I always wanted to know how was Dante's office in the back, and, even more, where those metal stairs go. We know there's a bathroom, because Dante uses the shower in 3 and tells Trish it's on the back in 1, so I suppose there's some kind of small house or flat attached at the back. I don't know around the world, but in my country there still are small houses where people have their bussiness on the ground floor and the house upstairs, so I imagine he lives in something similar.

I already finished DMC4 Deadly Fortuna, both of them, and, after these, I think I'm going to take a break from reading because four books in a week, even if their are light novels, are too much for my brain.
The novels are a retelling of the 4th game, but with extra info and chapters not in the game, like the reason why Dante goes to Fortuna or how Nero got his devil bringer.
The novels are written from Nero's perspective in first person and the rest of the characters in third. Why? I don't know. I've read other light novels where the author did this and I dropped them; I can't stand first person narrators, they look unrealiable to me. I only read these because they were DMC novels.
Chronologicaly, the thing starts with Lady angry because some magic armors are taking her job and something is fishy, so she goes to Dante and ask him to solve her problem. We can see Lady doing her demon hunter job and she looks cool; I think they could have added this background to the game in some kind of cutscene for people to understand what the hell was happening and why they knew the Order was fishy.
Trish have a bigger role than being Gloria: they say she likes reading and studying, so she goes around the world getting ride of bad demons and learning stuff she finds interesting, usually demon related. She helps the people of Fortuna and keep in touch with Lady and ask her for help when needed; she is written as a person you wan rely on.
About Nero, we got to know how he gots his devil arm, and a bit more about Fortuna society. Everyone seems to know he is a Sparda descendant but him, even if people tell him to his face, but he is a 17 year old teenager madly in love and his only goal in life is saving his not yet girlfriend. That reminds me I love how Kyrie is portrayed: she is not a fighter, but she need to protect people around her however she can; she is a devout, but a real one: she does good because that's the good thing to do, not because doing good you'll get more status or a better place in the afterlife. Or, well, maybe, as this is Nero's point of view and it could be quite biased (that's why I don't like first person point of view).
Dante is Dante. Now he is stronger than in the other novels and he plays with the demons, not afraid of being empaled (LOL). I love how the author uses the devil arms to finish them instead of writing pages of boring fights and how Lady and Trish comment they see Dante in a better mood after he met Nero. Maybe the thing about feeling the blood calling sound a bit weird, but I see it more as a magic thing than literal blood.
About the other characters, I liked they gave Credo a bit of background, enough to be a bit interesting. I suppose he is the best example of blind faith is bad and he saw it in the end, too. Too late, I could say. At least here Kyrie and Nero remember him at the end of the novel (LOL).
Santus life was elaborated too. It seems he meet Vergil 18 years ago the night he became Pope. I was reading it and I was imagining it like: "Vergil enters Pope's room: don't mind me, old man, just looking around, keep sleeping; BTW, I'll surpass Sparda. *Winks* see ya". Leaves the room. And the Pope was "OK... My religion Jesus just left and I'm chill about it."
About Agnus, I think there's nothing new. His story is expanded DMC5 novel when Nico speaks about him, though. Guy abandoned her and her mother, and I'm happy she got to meet a nice guy how adopted Nico as his own.
Over all, I liked it: the story and character expansion get to fill the missing info in the game, which makes the game feel incomplete after the reading. The story feel more dynamic that the previous ones; I feel the characters more likable. I feel it lighter that the others, easier to read. Appart for my personal taste of hating first person writing, I think it's a very good reading. I thanks the people who took the effort of translating it and I feel is a shame it's not translated to other languages.
AND EDIT: I forgot to tell, I read somewhere people in Fortuna though Nero's mom was a prostitute, but I don't remember reading it anywhere, so maybe I missed it. I usually don't get things if they are not clearly written: if you write 'woman of the evening' (I had to look for this expression) I'm not going to undertands its meaning, less being a expression in another language not my own. If you know the exact moment this is said about Nero's mom, you can tell me.

Reading a fan translation, I can't believe not only bullfighting exists in DMC universe, but Nero knows about it.

Finished reading DMC2 novel, which is a 2nd game prequel, and I have to say I really didn't like it except a couple of thing.
Appart from Dante, we have Beryl as second main character, a woman who want to destroy a demon artifact called the Beastheads, some kind of mini statue made by demons which cursed her and, of course, kills people when its power is used. It's OK, a pretty simple story, we don't need much more. The thing is she wants to destroy the statue but she can get near because its curse make her suffer and incapacited her so... She can't really destroy it alone, but doesn't want help. That confused me.
There's this whole chapter too when the bad guy send them to another dimension, and oh my goodness, I wasn't expecting and isekai: a whole chapter full of nothing, at least for me, only to get a item you heard about only much later in the story. I mean, they spend time with demons, and only when it's necessary for the story, they say they have the item they need to win, no hints of its existence before.
No devil trigger made me feel the story lacked too, because, even if it's before DMC2, Dante uses his devil form in some cutscenes, like when he is falling. I was expecting devil trigger on the last fight when he was a bit desperated.
There were 2 things I liked: the Beastheads use and the bad motivation.
About the Beatsheads, I loved it not only gives humans their desires and corrupt them, but that it's all a trap to absorb they life force and turn it into demon power. Demon items usually only corrupt and then make people end themselves or something, but here uses them till the end; I think it's clever.
About the bad guy, I loved how, at the end, the typical bad guy who wanted demon power and eternal life was not because he wanted to conquer the world, but study forever. Of course, their studies seemed like something you could see on Resident Evil, but I liked how he wanted powers for studying and not normal bad guys world conquering.
Overall, I liked the first more: it lack sentiment and felt to me like a 2 chapter morning cartoon.
I started reading Deadly Fortuna, and I'll write my impression as soon as I finish the first one.
As always, thanks to the people who translate this things for free.

As a fan of demon related stuff, I want to tell the world Nephilim, as in DmC, is used in a WRONG way. Nephilim is a being, usually a giant humanoid, born from (fallen) angels and human woman. If I recall correctly, the Bible says angels wanted to lay with human women as men did, and those are their kids. I suppose they felt because of that, never interested in that part (LOL). And, if you have into account OG Dante and Vergil, they are cambion. This word, BTW, is related to changeling in meaning and myths. The more you know.
What I don't know is if there's a word for demon and angel babies, though.
EDIT: read under the cut for some funny +18 info.
One of the versions said demon didn't have sperm, so female demons got it from human males, gave it to male demons and they used it on their body to get female humans pregnant. I suppose the sperm became magical or something and that's how the kids ware half demon.

After the last chapter of Daredevil new series, I have some comments, almost all spoilers, keep reading if interested.
I love it' a continuation from the first serie like 10 years ago? I watched 2 season, but I couldn't finish the last. I could say the actors love their roles.
I loved this season was more people centered than taking bad guys to jail, with both Murdok and Fisk doing what they think is best, but not being able to separate from their alter egos.
But I what really, really loved was Fisk and Vanessa relationship, glad the got married. I'm a bit sick and bored of mafia woman who are single and super sexy pretty or a granny, or, in other cases, it's a normal woman married to a mafia boss trying to change him or being a sexy lamp. Here, Vanessa tasted power and LOVED it. They get married and joins the bussiness, Fisks dissappears and she takes it and expands it, and she makes any person in her way dissappear, and his husband loves it. And, even is she is not ugly, she is not sexy: she is a middle aged cultured woman you can find working in any place. She is power and respect, and that's being intelligent and manipulative, not shooting people in the face.
I loved the small Punished role. I haven't read the comics, but I liked his own show: any person who shoots people in the face for harming kids gets points in my list of cool characters. He gets angry because a bunch of cops start acting as they think he acts, he faces them, loses, and the stupid don't kill him don't put him into maximum security: they put him in a cage guarded by one of his famboys; man, these cops are stupid. Obviously, he uses their fanboy-ism againt them and the rest is story (they all are going to d*e).
I loved Karen came back too. I liked Karen since the beggining because she is what would happen if one person was surrounded by heroes and vigilantes and they were the only normal civilian, but, instead of being always the victim, would fight in mundane ways, like being the heart, and sometimes the brain, of the group. She is the best friend: she leaves, but comes back as soon as they need her.
There's something I didn't like, I saw it maybe too subreal, and that's, in the last chapter, they cut the electric power and, in that same moment, everyone goes to the street and start stealing from shops and partying in the street like, it's all the city, ok? But it's a power cut, not the end of the world, people have lives, they have to go to work or school the next day. And the power could come in any moment. Maybe some people would do it, but streets full? Maybe is an american thing (LOL) I think IRL people would be angry they lost internet.
Oh, and I forgot the episode with Kamala' papa. Love the guy, I wish we got an special episode with Matt meeting her.
So, to finish, Daredevil is darker than other Marvel series, and maybe that's what makes it a bit special. But darker in a realistic way, with realistic feeling of trauma and trying to heal, and maybe failing.

I just saw Promare
There are times I watch, read and play things like 10 years later. Lucky for me, this was not the case. I wasn't interested on this film, but they told me it was a bit homoerotic, and I fell. I'm not really a yaoi/BL fan, I mean, I don't mind gay people on stories, I just simple can stand I'm homosexual being the core of the story, but I love when there's tension between characters, being it homo or hetero. And when it's homo I love Naruto and Sasuke levels of homo.
About the film, I can't say much (LOL). It Studio Trigger, and all Trigger draws is beautiful. They first anime I watched was Brand New Animal, and I say it because one japanese voice actor worked in it, and I love the story. Then I watched Star Wars Visions, and i love they Twins story, too. How I wish they could make a DMC anime after that!
As I was saying, I don't know what to say about the story: people get stressed, they mutate and get fire powers which make you generate fire animals and cool armors, special fire forces fight against them, robots, xenophobia and the end the world, and a loli, there's always a loli.
Did I like it? Yeah, enough for not to feel I lost my time, but it's not something I'll watch again. Mecha is a genre I don't like, even if I like sci-fi; as I said, I loved their Star Wars short. I like the overall story, though.
To finish, I have to comment how I love the main character, typical shonen "I'll save everyone" main character was shirtless all the movie having into account he was a firefighter and the other guy only lost his at the end after they wiped the floor with him, if I recall correctly. And, at the end, they connect à la Pacific Rim and save the world, and that's the homo-est thing, because, as Pacific Rim explains, only people with strong connection can, well, connect, and that's why only family members or couples can do it.
You should watch it? Of course, it's fun and dynamic, all character seem to be their own, and never get bored. The only thing is you'll know how is the bad guy since the beginning because art style...
